Leading Global Warming Proponent Admits Earth is Cooling

One of the lead authors of the United Nations Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change (IPCC), Prof. Mojib Latif of Germany's Leibniz Institute, has admitted the Earth is entering a one to two decade cooling period. You haven't seen this reported in the mainstream media because they are too interested in shilling for the global warming crowd. They don't want to report this "inconvenient truth." BBC blogger Tom Feilden brings it home in this excerpt.

The global warming narrative - that mankind's addiction to burning fossil fuels is rapidly changing the climate - may be about to go seriously off message.

Far from suggesting the planet will get warmer, one of the world's leading climate modellers says the latest data indicates we could be in for a significant period of steady temperatures and possibly even a little global cooling....

"The strong warming effect that we experienced during the last decades will be interrupted. Temperatures will be more or less steady for some years, and thereafter will pickup again and continue to warm".

With apologies to Al Gore, professor Latif's finding is something of an "inconvenient truth" for the global warming debate.

From Calgary Herald:

Yet last week in Geneva, at the UN's World Climate Conference--an annual gathering of the so-called "scientific consensus" on man-made climate change --Latif conceded the Earth has not warmed for nearly a decade and that we are likely entering "one or even two decades during which temperatures cool."

    Thanks. Fixed.

  3. I've never believed in the 'global warming' idea. I've always believed that weather is cyclical and that's how it is.

  4. Gee bluegrass you seem to have omitted these paragraphs from the BBC story. Any reason why?

Professor Philip Stott believes climate sceptics may seize on the research as evidence that the whole global warming hypothesis is fundamentally flawed: If natural cycles can interrupt, or even reverse climate change, maybe we don't need to take it so seriously.

It's not a view shared by professor Latif, who points to the resumption of warming as the cycle completes itself in a few years. The best we can hope for, he says, is a brief respite from global warming.

  5. You all really don't get it do you? Notice how he said,

"The strong warming effect that we experienced during the last decades will be interrupted. Temperatures will be more or less steady for some years, and thereafter will pickup again and continue to warm".

Hmmm, seems the inconvenient truth is that the clear trend is towards warming. Let me help by giving a simple analogy...

Here is a pattern, let's see if any one can guess where it goes.

    1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 6, 7, 8, 9, 8, 9, 10, 11, 12 ....

Hmmm is the trend to end up at 0, or at a very large number? See if you can figure it out.

It is true he thinks global warming will continue later. The key point is he is admitting the climatology models currently in use are wrong. None of these predicted the Earth cooling now. They all predicted an acceleration of warming. If the models are that bad at a time period of 10~15 years, how can they have any credibility at 50~100 years? It is foolish to spend trillions of dollars on such questionable science.
