Did relocated illegal alien children cause this unusual respiratory virus outbreak in Kansas City?

This disease has never been seen in Kansas City before.  Kansas City welcomed illegal minors who have come across the border this year. .

Via FOX4KC
An unusual respiratory virus is striking children in the metro in big numbers. Children’s Mercy Hospital is hospitalizing 20 to 30 kids a day with the virus. The hospital is as full now as it is at the height of flu season.
This is not the same virus we told you about several weeks ago that can cause meningitis. This one can cause severe breathing trouble. Children’s Mercy has seen more than 300 cases in recent days in kids of all ages.
Preston Sheldon’s mom says he seemed fine when she took him to pre-school Tuesday. But minutes later, the Grain Valley mom got the call. Her three-year-old son was having trouble breathing.
“You could see his ribs, and his stomach was pushing out really hard… I thought it was an asthma attack,” said Pam Sheldon.
But it was a virus that is inundating Children’s Mercy with patients.
“To be at winter census is quite unusual in August obviously. To see a virus we’ve not seen before is unusual, too,” said Dr. Mary Anne Jackson, an infectious disease specialist.
It is enterovirus 68. The doctor says it’s well-known around the world, but cases have not been seen in Kansas City before.

Hero: “The Five” co-host Andrea Tantaros refuses to apologize for saying ISIS members need "bullet to the head."

You go girl!

Via Biz Pac Review:
Harsh remarks concerning traditional Muslim brutality have led the Asian American Journalists Association to call for an apology from the the Fox News Network.
The organization was upset at comments made by “The Five” co-host Andrea Tantaros during a discussion of the bestial behavior of ISIS militants. Following previous comments that Muslim zealots had historically engaged in beheadings, and that James Foley’s murder was nothing uncommon, she said, “You can’t solve it with a dialogue. You can’t solve it with a summit. You solve it with a bullet to the head. It’s the only thing these people understand.”

Russia invades Ukraine, EU dithers...

Russia is pouring thousands of men and heavy weapons into Ukraine to prop up the rebels.  You would think tough new sanctions would be imposed at a minimum. That hasn't happened. The truth is the EU lacks the spine to impose tough sanction on Russia because it would hurt their economies almost as much as Russia. Obama could impose tough sanction if he wanted too. It would hurt the US economy much because we don't do that much trade with Russia. He is not doing it because he doesn't want to make his EU buddies look bad.

Via FOX News:
European Union leaders stopped short of imposing new economic sanctions on Russia in response to the latest developments in Ukraine early Sunday, instead tasking the organization's executive body to "urgently" prepare tougher economic sanctions that could be adopted within a week after Ukraine's president warned of a possible "full-scale war" in eastern Europe.
The 28 leaders of E.U. member countries also issued a statement calling on Russia to "immediately withdraw all its military assets and forces from Ukraine."
In recent days, a new advance by Moscow-backed separatist rebels has resulted in the seizure of the coastal town of Novoazovsk, stoking fears that the larger port of Mariupol would be the next target.
The offensive appears to have succeeded in relieving some of the pressure on the rebel-held cities of Donetsk and Luhansk, which had been surrounded by government troops in recent weeks. Ukraine military spokesman Col. Andriy Lysenko said Saturday that troops were abandoning the town of of Ilovaysk, about 15 miles east of  Donetsk, where its forces had been surrounded by rebels for days.

Company whose video chat service allegedly captured Michael Brown shooting says recording created at right time...

Paging Officer Wilson. Your story is full of holes.
(CNN) -- A company whose video chat service apparently captured audio of Michael Brown's shooting said Thursday the recording was created at the time the Missouri teenager was killed this month.
The revelation from Glide appears to bolster a man's claim that he inadvertently recorded audio of gunfire at the time a police officer shot and killed the 18-year-old Brown in the St. Louis suburb of Ferguson on August 9.
The video was created at 12:02:14 p.m. that day, Glide said. Brown, who was unarmed, was shot by Ferguson police officer Darren Wilson shortly after noon.
"A Glide user living nearby was simply using the Glide app on their smartphone exactly as it was designed -- to instantly communicate with a friend through our real-time video texting service. Simultaneously, they also captured audio in the background of the gunshots allegedly fired at Michael Brown," the company said.
The sounds could be a piece in the larger puzzle of what happened during the shooting, which spurred days of protests in the city of 21,000.

Persistance: The federal government hasn't give up on trying to find out why lesbians are more obese...

It is easy to be persistent with someone else's money. In this case, it's your tax dollars.
The federal government is still seeking answers as to why the majority of lesbians are obese and U.S. taxpayers are footing the bill, which now totals $2.87 million.
The National Institutes of Health (NIH) study is now in its fourth year, receiving an additional $670,567 for fiscal year 2014. The project seeks to determine why “nearly three-quarters of adult lesbians overweight or obese,” and why gay males are not.
In just two years the project’s budget has nearly doubled, growing from $1.5 million to nearly $3 million today, despite fears that sequestration could jeopardize the project and other NIH funding.
The study, which is being led by S. Bryn Austin, an associate epidemiologist at Brigham and Women’s Hospital, operates on the premise that there is a “striking interplay of gender and sexual orientation in obesity disparities.”

Louisiana Sen. Mary Landrieu is 58 and still lives with her parents

Well, that is what she is claiming. Perhaps it will help her with the slacker vote.

Via WaPo:
Here in Louisiana, however, the Democrat does not have a home of her own. She is registered to vote at a large bungalow in New Orleans that her parents have lived in for many decades, according to a Washington Post review of Landrieu’s federal financial disclosures and local property and voting records.
On a statement of candidacy Landrieu filed with the Federal Election Commission in January, she listed her Capitol Hill home as her address. But when qualifying for the ballot in Louisiana last week, she listed the family’s raised-basement home here on South Prieur Street.
The New Orleans house, which Landrieu claims as her primary residence, is a new flash point in one of the most closely contested Senate races in the country. Republicans are considering taking legal action to question Landrieu’s residency in the state, arguing that since winning her seat in 1996 she has become a creature of Washington.

Stupid: FBI’s most recent national domestic terrorism threat assessment finds no threat from radical Islam...

This is the strange alternate universe of Eric Holder's Justice department...

Via WFB
The FBI’s most recent national threat assessment for domestic terrorism makes no reference to Islamist terror threats, despite last year’s Boston Marathon bombing and the 2009 Fort Hood shooting—both carried out by radical Muslim Americans.
Instead, the internal FBI intelligence report concluded in its 2013 assessment published this month that the threat to U.S. internal security from extremists is limited to attacks and activities by eight types of domestic extremist movements—none motivated by radical Islam.
They include anti-government militia groups and white supremacy extremists, along with “sovereign citizen” nationalists, and anarchists. Other domestic threat groups outlined by the FBI assessment include violent animal rights and environmentalist extremists, black separatists, anti- and pro-abortion activists, and Puerto Rican nationalists.[...]

Ed Henry to Josh Earnest: How Can Obama Fundraise After ‘No Strategy’ Remark?

Putin to West: "It's best not to mess with us."

Playing the nuclear card...
LAKE SELIGER Russia (Reuters) - President Vladimir Putin said on Friday Russia's armed forces, backed by its nuclear arsenal, were ready to meet any aggression, declaring at a pro-Kremlin youth camp that foreign states should understand: "It's best not to mess with us."
Putin told the assembly, on the banks of a lake near Moscow, the Russian takeover of Crimea in March was essential to save a largely Russian-speaking population from Ukrainian government violence.
He said continued fighting in eastern Ukraine, where pro-Russian separatists launched an uprising in April, was the result of a refusal by Kiev to negotiate.
Ukraine, and Western governments, accuse Russia of sending troops and armor to back the separatists in a conflict that has already killed over 2,000 people. Russia denies the charge.
"Russia is far from being involved in any large-scale conflicts," he said at the camp on the banks of Lake Seliger."We don't want that and don't plan on it. But naturally, we should always be ready to repel any aggression towards Russia.

Change: Harry Reid's alma matter removes his name from building...

Apparently, it was hurting fundraising...

Via Daily Caller:
Harry Reid’s alma matter is removing his name from a school building after citizens and alumni lobbied the school president and pledged more than $40,000 to the cause.
Concerned citizens lobbied Southern Utah University president Scott Wyatt months ago for the change, but he has only now decided to remove the name out of respect for the Senate majority leader, Utah’s The Spectrum reports. “I didn’t want to offend him in any way,” he explained.
Cedar City Councilman Paul Cozzens told The Specter he received $40,000 in pledges to remove the Nevada senator’s name in just five days.
“These people in Nevada do not espouse to Reid’s political philosophies,” he said, “and they told me they would not support the university or send any more of their children there … so long as Harry Reid’s name remained.”
The school attached Reid’s name to the Outdoor Center expecting donations from Reid and his friends, The Specter reports, but those donations have not materialized.

Heroes: St. Louis Tea Party helping Ferguson businesses hurt by rioting and looting...

However you feel about Officer Wilson shooting Mr. Brown,it was shameful for rioters to loot and damage Ferguson businesses. they had nothing to do with it.

While liberals “leaders” were crowing for the cameras and pretending to pray, St. Louis conservatives were taking some positive steps toward actually helping the Ferguson community torn up by rioting.
The St. Louis Tea Party is organizing a “BUYcott” of businesses along the now-infamous Florissant Avenue where some of the worst looting took place.
It’s an idea that helps the people directly affected by the riots that followed the police shooting death of Michael Brown on Aug. 9, but it could also help change the media-generated image of the tea party nationally.
The national media, naturally, yawned, but the impact is real. And it’s still going on, with another event planned for this weekend.

WHO: Ebola cases could hit 20,000

Dogs are eating dead bodies on the street.
GENEVA (AP) — The Ebola outbreak in West Africa is accelerating and could grow six times larger to infect as many as 20,000 people, the World Health Organization said Thursday. The U.N. health agency unveiled a new road map for containing the virus, and scientists are fast-tracking efforts to find a treatment or vaccine.
Ebola has menaced Africa for 40 years, but previously struck in remote villages and was contained fairly quickly. This time, it has spread to major cities in four countries, provoking unrest as whole neighborhoods and towns have been sealed to the outside.
An experimental vaccine developed by the U.S. government and GlaxoSmithKline will be tested on humans starting next week, the U.S. National Institutes of Health announced Thursday. The NIH trial will use healthy adult volunteers in Maryland, and British experts will simultaneously test the same vaccine in healthy people in the U.K., Gambia and Mali.
Preliminary results on the vaccine's safety — not its effectiveness — could be available in months.

On August 7, Barack Obama blew off possibility of a Russian invasion of Ukraine...

On August 7, 2014, Barack Obama said of a Possible Russian invasion of Ukraine, "we're not there yet." Are we there yet now, Mr. Obama?
(CNSNews.com) - The massing of Russian troops along the Ukraine border may signal an imminent invasion, but "we're not there yet," President Obama said on Wednesday. And until we're there, "the best thing we can do for Ukraine is to try to get back on a political track," he told reporters at a pre-vacation news conference.
A reporter asked Obama if the signs of an imminent Russian invasion would make him "reconsider" lethal military aid for Ukraine.
"Well, keep in mind that the Russian army is a lot bigger than the Ukrainian army," Obama responded.

Via BuzzFeed Politics:
U.S. officials are refusing to call Russia’s ongoing invasion of Ukraine this week an invasion, and the issue is not on the agenda for Thursday’s National Security Council meeting.
“Today the president is meeting with his National Security Council to discuss the situation in Iraq and Syria, our ongoing efforts to support the Iraqi government, and our efforts to counter the threat posed by ISIL,” a White House official said on Thursday when asked if the situation in Ukraine would also be a part of the meeting. “You should not expect that we’ll have new decisions to announce on these issues today.”
The meeting will include heads of intelligence agencies, Secretary of Defense Chuck Hagel, Vice President Joe Biden, and Secretary of State John Kerry, the three of whom plan to join remotely. The meeting is expected to include discussion of whether or not the U.S. will carry out strikes against the Islamist terrorist organization ISIS inside Syria.
Russian combat troops are currently inside southeastern Ukraine. NATO released satellite imagery showing this on Thursday. “The satellite images released today provide additional evidence that Russian combat soldiers, equipped with sophisticated heavy weaponry, are operating inside Ukraine’s sovereign territory,” NATO Brigadier General Nico Tak said.

Obama's global warming nuclear option is making vulnerable Democrats nervous...

It becoming obvious Obama has give up hope of having Harry Reid as senate Majority Leader during his last two years in office. He appears to be moving ahead with highly contentious executive actions on immigration and global warming. That bump you felt is vulnerable democrats going under the bus. Who knew when global warming shysters told us the end is near they were talking about Democratic Senators form red and purple states.

Via The Hill:
President Obama’s election-year plan to win a new international climate change accord is making vulnerable Democrats nervous.

The administration is in talks at the United Nations about a deal that would seek to reduce global greenhouse gas emissions by “naming and shaming” governments that fail to take significant action.
The State Department on Wednesday denied a report in The New York Times that the plan is to come up with a treaty that would not require Senate confirmation, but that appeared to provide cold comfort to Democrats worried the issue will revive GOP cries about an imperial Obama presidency.
One Democratic strategist said the proposal would put swing-state candidates who are critical to the party keeping its Senate majority “in front of the firing squad.”

“You're ... making it more difficult for them to win and certainty putting them in a position to lose,” the strategist said.

Several vulnerable Senate Democrats kept mum on the issue.
Sens. Mark Begich (Alaska) and Mark Udall (Colo.), along with a handful of House Democrats, either declined to comment or didn’t respond to interview requests.
Senate Energy Committee Chairwoman Mary Landrieu (La.) cautiously signaled support for the oil and gas industry that is important to her state, without commenting on the plan to sidestep the Senate.

Doctors were reportedly surprised she had survived the attack.
Devi’s fight comes after a group leopards recently killed another woman in the area.

Obama tries to use UN to bypass Congress and force you to cut carbon emissions...

What happened to the Constitution?
Via NY Times:
The Obama administration is working to forge a sweeping international climate change agreement to compel nations to cut their planet-warming fossil fuel emissions, but without ratification from Congress.
In preparation for this agreement, to be signed at a United Nations summit meeting in 2015 in Paris, the negotiators are meeting with diplomats from other countries to broker a deal to commit some of the world’s largest economies to enact laws to reduce their carbon pollution. But under the Constitution, a president may enter into a legally binding treaty only if it is approved by a two-thirds majority of the Senate.
To sidestep that requirement, President Obama’s climate negotiators are devising what they call a “politically binding” deal that would “name and shame” countries into cutting their emissions. The deal is likely to face strong objections from Republicans on Capitol Hill and from poor countries around the world, but negotiators say it may be the only realistic path. […]

Obama speaks to American Legion. Vets sit on their hands.

It was classy of them not to boo him off the stage.

Via Daily Mail:
President Barack Obama faced a tough crowd on Tuesday – American military veterans – and fell flat on his applause lines as he failed to win over the American Legion’s convention-goers.
His 35-minute speech seemed to have reminded the audience of the stark divide between the White House’s policy choices and the feelings of the men and women often called on to carry them out.
A Virginia legionnaire who served in the U.S. Marine Corps told MailOnline that ‘a small group of Obama’s admirers – and there are some here – sat near the front and tried to generate applause for him about 10 times.’
‘They didn’t get much pickup,’ the retired lieutenant colonel said of the ‘instigators’ gathered at the Charlotte, North Carolina event, but ‘they were persistent. You could tell when the applause was genuine and when it wasn’t. It was obvious to everyone here.’
Most of the veterans sat on their hands, leaving awkward silences where White House speechwriters expected ovations.

Video: Audio Recording of Michael Brown Shooting Captured During Video Chat

This is from CNN. So, consider the source. It is purported to be a recording of the actual Michael Brown shooting. The man's attorney claims they have contacted the FBI. If that is true, I doubt it is a fake. It would  be timestamped and there was a person on the other end of the conversation that was being recorded. The recording casts serious doubt on Officer Wilson's story as relayed by alleged friend "Josie."
According to the account on KTFK radio, phoned in by a woman who identified herself as "Josie," (listen to the radio call below here)the altercation began after Officer Darren Wilson rolled down his window to tell Brown and a friend to stop walking in the street. When Wilson tried to get out of his cruiser, Brown first tried to push the officer back into the car, then punched him in the face and grabbed for his gun before breaking free after the gun went off once, the caller said.
Wilson pursued Brown and his friend, ordering them to freeze, according to the account. When they turned around, Brown began taunting Wilson, saying he would not arrest them, then ran at the officer at full speed, the caller said. Wilson then began shooting. The final shot was to Brown's forehead, and the teenager fell two or three feet in front of Wilson, said the caller, who identified herself as the officer's friend.
A source with detailed knowledge of the investigation later told CNN the caller's account is "accurate," in that it matches what Wilson has told investigators.
Please note that according to the friend, there was one shot fired and then Officer Wilson pursued Brown yelling halt. Then, more shots were fired when Brown turned and mocked Wilson and, then, bum rushed Wilson. The audio does not support this at all. Assuming it started with the fist shot, and I don't know that for sure, there is one shot and about a second or less later there are five more shots. then, there is a pause of 1.5 to 2 seconds followed by four quick shots. If this is an accurate recording of the actual event, Officer Brown was almost continuously blasting away for the first six shots. By everyone's account, Wilson would have been shooting at the backside of an unarmed fleeing man. Many would find that troubling even if it didn't match Officer Wilson's version. Then, the pause seems to show Officer Wilson was making a decision to stop firing or continue. He obviously continues. This could be where either Brown tried to surrender or bum rushed Wilson, depending on who you believe. There doesn't seem much time for the "taunting" Wilson's friend described. I wonder what Officer Wilson's written report says. If the audio is for real and Wilson claimed he didn't shoot at a Brown's fleeing backside, Wilson has some explaining to do.

This audio doesn't seem to match up with the entry woulds from the autopsy report. Wilson would have had to hit Brown at least 2 times, out of 6 bullet wounds, with the first 6 shots. One of the arm woulds could easily have been a graze from behind.  Arms are also very flexible and in motion while running or Brown could have turned his upper body to look behind him.

Update: Here is a slowed down and cleaned up version. Via .

Demo Sen. Mary Landrieu struggling in Louisiana senate race...

Sen. Mary Landrieu is starting to look like a loser.

Via Washington Examiner
If Sen. Mary Landrieu loses her re-election bid this year, she might look back at the last few weeks as the turning point in her lengthy political career.
The Louisiana Democrat, who has repeatedly found a way to win in a predominantly red state, is stuck at the lowest point of her 2014 campaign.
The chairwoman of the Senate Energy and Natural Resources Committee has been on the defensive after it was revealed that she used official Senate dollars to pay for at least four flights to campaign-related events.
Even more directly, Landrieu was outraised in the last quarter by Rep. Bill Cassidy, R-La., and now finds herself with less cash on hand than the conservative doctor.
Landrieu has dismissed the brouhaha over her charter flights as a bookkeeping issue, but political insiders in the Bayou State say the self-inflicted wound has redefined the race.
“At first, I didn’t think it would be of any consequence, but it actually blew up and got a lot more publicity than I thought it would,” said Bernie Pinsonat, a Louisiana pollster who has worked for both Republicans and Democrats. “There’s a trend here. She can apologize all she wants, but it has clearly hurt her.”

Obvious: Court Okays Barring High IQs for Cops

Well, this explains a lot.
Court Okays Barring High IQs for Cops
A man whose bid to become a police officer was rejected after he scored too high on an intelligence test has lost an appeal in his federal lawsuit against the city.
The 2nd U.S. Circuit Court of Appeals in New York upheld a lower court’s decision that the city did not discriminate against Robert Jordan because the same standards were applied to everyone who took the test.
“This kind of puts an official face on discrimination in America against people of a certain class,” Jordan said today from his Waterford home. “I maintain you have no more control over your basic intelligence than your eye color or your gender or anything else.”
Jordan, a 49-year-old college graduate, took the exam in 1996 and scored 33 points, the equivalent of an IQ of 125. But New London police interviewed only candidates who scored 20 to 27, on the theory that those who scored too high could get bored with police work and leave soon after undergoing costly training.
The average score nationally for police officers is 21 to 22, the equivalent of an IQ of 104, or just a little above average.

DOJ admits Lois Lerner emails exist on back up server, but they aren't going to retrieve them because it is hard...

Unbelievable.  This sounds like something the Onion would make up.

Via The National Review:
A Justice Department official admitted that former IRS official Lois Lerner’s apparently missing emails actually exist on a backup server, but the government doesn’t plan to retrieve them.
“A Department of Justice attorney told a Judicial Watch attorney on Friday that it turns out the federal government backs up all computer records in case something terrible happens in Washington and there’s a catastrophe, so the government can continue operating,” Judicial Watch president Tom Fitton told Fox News’ Shannon Bream.
“But it would be too hard to go get lois lerner’s emails from that backup system,” Fitton continued, paraphrasing the DOJ official.

If this is true, it's time to start putting all the people who perjured themselves in court and before Congress in prison.Of course this is what GOP members of Congress and many others have been saying for a long time. Lerner's emails must be backed up somewhere.

Report: Clandestine air strikes in Libya are a joint effort of Egypt and UAE

It doesn't appear they trusted Obama enough to let him in on it.
CAIRO — Twice in the last seven days, Egypt and the United Arab Emirates have secretly teamed up to launch airstrikes against Islamist-allied militias battling for control of Tripoli, Libya, four senior American officials said, in a major escalation between the supporters and opponents over political Islam.
The United States, the officials said, was caught by surprise: Egypt and the Emirates, both close allies and military partners, acted without informing Washington or seeking its consent, leaving the Obama administration on the sidelines. Egyptian officials explicitly denied the operation to American diplomats, the officials said.
The strikes are another high-risk and destabilizing salvo unleashed in a struggle for power that has broken out across the region in the aftermath of the Arab Spring revolts, pitting old-line Arab autocrats against Islamists.

Iowa was never supposed to be a Senate battleground for Democrats.
Following two cycles where it was GOP missteps and subpar candidates who cost them winnable races, the tables have turned and it’s now Democrats who are scrambling to right Rep. Bruce Braley’s flagging campaign before it’s too late.

Via Arutz Sheva:
Iran's elite Revolutionary Guard said it has brought down an Israeli stealth drone above the Natanz uranium enrichment site in the center of the country.
"A spy drone of the Zionist regime (Israel) was brought down by a missile... This stealth drone was trying to approach the Natanz nuclear zone," the corps said in a statement on its official website sepahnews.com.
This act demonstrates a new adventurism by the Zionist regime... The Revolutionary Guard and the other armed forces reserve the right to respond to this act," the statement added.
An Israeli spokesman told AFP in Jerusalem on Sunday that the military does "not address foreign media reports".
Natanz is Iran's main uranium enrichment site, housing more than 16,000 centrifuges. Around 3,000 more are at the Fordow plant, buried inside a mountain and hard to destroy.

Officer Darren Wilson lost his last job when the whole Jennings, Mo PD was fired for racial strife...

This doesn't mean Officer Darren Wilson is a racist, but racial strife between the police and black residents is not new to him. The Ferguson police department he applied to, and was hired at, is 94% white while the community is two-thirds black. Based on his previous experience in Jennings, I would have thought he would have wanted to avoid a repeat and went to a more racially balanced police department.
— The small city of Jennings, Mo., had a police department so troubled, and with so much tension between white officers and black residents, that the city council finally decided to disband it. Everyone in the Jennings police department was fired. New officers were brought in to create a credible department from scratch.
That was three years ago. One of the officers who worked in that department, and lost his job along with everyone else, was a young man named Darren Wilson.
Some of the Jennings officers reapplied for their jobs, but Wilson got a job in the police department in the nearby city of Ferguson.

Maureen Dowd zings Obama for playing golf

Add this to the list of things I thought I would never see.

Via NY Times:
FORE! Score? And seven trillion rounds ago, our forecaddies brought forth on this continent a new playground, conceived by Robert Trent Jones, and dedicated to the proposition that all men are created equal when it comes to spending as much time on the links as possible — even when it seems totally inappropriate, like moments after making a solemn statement condemning the grisly murder of a 40-year-old American journalist beheaded by ISIL.
I know reporters didn’t get a chance to ask questions, but I had to bounce. I had a 1 p.m. tee time at Vineyard Golf Club with Alonzo Mourning and a part-owner of the Boston Celtics. Hillary and I agreed when we partied with Vernon Jordan up here, hanging out with celebrities and rich folks is fun.
Now we are engaged in a great civil divide in Ferguson, which does not even have a golf course, and that’s why I had a “logistical” issue with going there. We are testing whether that community, or any community so conceived and so dedicated, can long endure when the nation’s leader wants nothing more than to sink a birdie putt.

Meet the "Radical Jihadist" and Seattle mass murderer the mainstream media has ignored...

Secrets...

HotAir reported:
Ali Muhammad Brown was already a suspect in the murder of three Seattle men when he shot 19-year-old Brendan Tevlin eight times at a West Orange traffic light in his home state of New Jersey in June.
Brown is described as a devout Muslim man who killed as part of what prosecutors allege was a “bloody crusade” against the United States. He sought revenge against America for what he said was the wanton killing of civilians in Iraq and Afghanistan. Tevlin was allegedly Brown’s fourth victim.
Brown’s victims, with the exception of Tevlin, had a similar background: they were young, gay men.
Brown met two of his victims at a gay-themed Seattle nightclub. Court documents indicate that Brown used a mobile application to set up meetings with his two victims before committing a double homicide. Brown is also implicated in the murder of a third man whose body was found on a highway outside Seattle in April, KIRO-TV Seattle reported.
Brown’s homicides made news in June, but his story fell off the radar until Wednesday when King County prosecutors charged him with murder. Brown’s prosecutors made it clear that the accused killer’s motives were to terrorize, though he did appear to operate according to a perverse code of conduct.

Marine Vet Has a Viral Message for ISIS

Outstanding...

Via IJR:
Marine veteran Nick Powers responded to the brutal murder of American photojournalist James Foley carried out by ISIS/ISIL/IS (whatever they’re named this week). Warning: Strong language.
As I sit here constantly hearing and watching you execute innocent men, women and children in the Middle East I chuckle. Why do I chuckle you may ask? Well let me explain something to you cowardice fools who think you are so tough behind all your propaganda videos. You are scaring a population that doesn’t know how to fight, you’re bullying the weak.
You say Islam is the religion of peace, but since when does terrorizing the innocent and beheading men, women and children constitute peace? WTF? But keep in mind, what did Saddam’s troops do when we came rolling into town? They surrendered, twice… So all your empty threats of coming to America and raising your flag over the White House amuse me more than any of you sick, sadistic bastards could ever imagine or comprehend. In 2012 there was about 21.2 million veterans in the United States.

Socialism fail: Heavily subsidized Venezuelan food often ends up in Columbia...

What happens when you heavily subsidize food and make it almost free? People buy it and sell it in a nearby country for a profit. So, Socialism is actually promoting Capitalism?
Attention Venezuelan shoppers: Please proceed to the supermarket checkout for fingerprinting.
That could be a reality if a plan announced earlier this week by the country's president, Nicolas Maduro, goes into effect.
The purpose? Combating shortages caused by rampant smuggling of subsidized food in Venezuela across the border into neighboring Colombia. Maduro says the system would stop people from buying too much of a single item.
According to the BBC, up to 40 percent of subsidized goods from Venezuela are smuggled into Colombia.
"The amount of staples smuggled to Colombia would be enough to load the shelves of our supermarkets," Gen. Efrain Velasco Lugo, a military spokesman, told El Universal newspaper.

Nanny Stater wants to ban Happy Meal toys in NY...

It's time for the government to mind it's own business, not ours.

Via AFP:
A New York city councilman wants to ban toys in fast-food restaurant kid meals that do not meet strict dietary guidelines.
Democrat Ben Kallos introduced a bill Thursday that would ban the toys from a child’s meal if the food serving contains more than 500 calories and more than 600 milligrams of sodium.
The measure would also encourage including one half-cup of fruit or vegetables, or a serving of whole-grain products.
Under the proposal, violators would be fined between $200 and $500 for their first offense, no more than $1,000 for the second violation, and up to $2,500 for subsequent violations.
Former mayor Michael Bloomberg famously failed in his 2012 attempt to limit the size of giant sodas, so prospects are slim for Kallos’s measure.

Religious intolerance alert: Gov. Jerry Brown forces California Catholic Universities to pay for abortions

Apparently, Gov. Jerry Brown's administration now views all abortions as medically necessary...
Gov. Jerry Brown's administration has reversed an earlier decision to allow two Catholic universities to eliminate coverage of most abortions for employees, saying state law requires health insurance plans to cover all abortions.
The state had previously allowed insurance companies to offer plans to Santa Clara and Loyola Marymount universities that denied coverage for "elective" abortions, and allowed it only for abortions needed to save a woman's life or prevent serious health damage. Loyola Marymount, in Los Angeles, implemented its policy in January, while Santa Clara's was due to take effect next year.
Urged by abortion-rights groups and university employees to reconsider the issue, Brown's Department of Managed Health Care, in letters to be sent Friday to insurers for both universities, said the exclusions violate a 1975 state law that requires group health plans to cover all basic services - defined, by the law, as those that are "medically necessary."
The Catholic Church should close their Universities in California.

Former psychiatrist-in-chief for Johns Hopkins Hospital: transgenderism is a “mental disorder”

Dr. Paul R. McHugh is obviously retiring.  Otherwise, liberals would run him out of the psychiatric profession.
Dr. Paul R. McHugh, the former psychiatrist-in-chief for Johns Hopkins Hospital and its current Distinguished Service Professor of Psychiatry, said that transgenderism is a “mental disorder” that merits treatment, that sex change is “biologically impossible,” and that people who promote sexual reassignment surgery are collaborating with and promoting a mental disorder.

Guess who just executed 18 Palestinians...

It wasn't Israel. They are more civilized than that. It was Hamas!

Via Fox News:
Hamas carried out a deadly purge of suspected informants in Gaza, killing as many as 18 people suspected of providing information to the Israel Defense Forces as fighting flared anew following the collapse of Egyptian-brokered cease-fire talks.
Masked gunmen killed seven suspected informants for Israel near a Gaza City mosque as worshippers were ending midday prayers on Friday, according to a witness and Hamas media. Earlier in the day, Hamas killed 11 men by firing squad in Gaza City’s police headquarters, according to the Hamas-run Al Rai website.
Two of those killed were women, according to the Palestinian Center for Human Rights, which called for an immediate halt to what it said were “extra-judicial executions.”
Hamas media portrayed the killings as the beginning of a new crackdown, under the rallying cry of “choking the necks of the collaborators.” The killings, which took place near the al-Omari Mosque in downtown Gaza, occurred a day after Israel killed three top Hamas military commanders in an airstrike on a house in southern Gaza.
A witness says masked gunmen lined up the seven men in a side street and opened fire on them. He spoke on condition of anonymity, fearing for his own safety.

Republican Scott Brown pulls to within statistical dead heat with Democrat Jeanne Shaheen

The Obama effect?
Republican Scott Brown has closed a 12-point gap in the monthly WMUR/Granite State poll, and has pulled into a statistical dead heat with incumbent Democrat Jeanne Shaheen for the New Hampshire US Senate seat.
Shaheen leads Brown 46 percent to 44 percent, well within the poll’s 4 percent margin of error. Just one month ago, Shaheen was up 50-38 in the same poll.[...]

Saudi Arabia executed an man this month for sorcery...

Ignorant bastards...
(Beirut) – Saudi Arabia has executed at least 19 people since August 4, 2014. Local news reports indicate that eight of those executed were convicted of nonviolent offenses, seven for drug smuggling and one for sorcery. Family members of another man, Hajras bin Saleh al-Qurey, told Human Rights Watch on August 17 that they fear his execution is imminent. The Public Court of Najran, in southern Saudi Arabia, sentenced al-Qurey to death by beheading on January 16, 2013 for allegedly smuggling drugs and attacking a police officer during his arrest. “Any execution is appalling, but executions for crimes such as drug smuggling or sorcery that result in no loss of life are particularly egregious,” said Sarah Leah Whitson, Middle East and North Africa director.

Nonpartisan GAO: Obama clearly broke law with Bergdahl-Taliban exchange...

Breaking the law, along with lying, is something Team Obama excels at...

Via FOX News:
A nonpartisan government watchdog agency said Thursday that the Pentagon broke the law when it swapped five Taliban leaders for Army Sgt. Bowe Bergdahl earlier this year.
The Government Accountability Office, in a legal opinion issued at the request of congressional lawmakers, said the Defense Department violated the law by failing to notify key Capitol Hill committees at least 30 days in advance.
Further, the report said the Pentagon broke another law by using funds that were not technically available.
Defense Department press secretary Rear Admiral John Kirby told Fox News Thursday night,  "the operation to retrieve Sgt. Bergdahl was lawfully conducted and that was also the judgment of the Justice Department. Nothing has changed about our view that this was a lawful recovery operation."
The GAO said the law in this case is "clear and unambiguous." The agency said that while the Defense Department defended the legality of the controversial swap, "in our view, DOD has dismissed the significance of the express language" in the law.

Meet the 1%: Bill Clinton smokes $1000 cigars...

I could comment about what other things Bill might be doing with his overpriced cigars, but I am going to restrain myself. .

Via The Weekly Standard:
Bill Clinton enjoys a Gurkha cigar, "the Rolls Royce of the cigar industry." He "loves the Gurkhas," Gurkha chief executive officer Kaizad Hansotia, maker of the HMR cigar, which stands for His Majesty's Reserve. It is, according to Hansotia, "the world's most expensive cigar."
One box is $25,000 -- and the price will rise next year to $30,000. "The cigars are close to $1,000 each," says the cigar boss to Bloomberg.
