Confirmed: Covered California cause 55% rate increases...

Obamacare is significantly raising health insurance rates. Anyone who tells you different is a liar who is playing you for a fool.

Via Breitbart:
Facing political shock and awe as ten million working Californians are soon to get notices of big insurance premium increases for next year, Democrat Insurance Commissioner Dave Jones admitted July 29th that rates for individuals that enrolled in Covered California jumped by an average of 55% last year.
Patrick Johnston, Chief Executive Officer of the California Association of Health Plans, said last year just before the launch of Covered California, “The arithmetic is inescapable.” Costs must be spread, so while some consumers will see their premiums drop, others will pay more – “no matter what people in Washington say.”
After two years of swearing that Covered California would save money for working state residents, Insurance Commissioner Jones in a news conference said, “The rate increase from 2013 to 2014, on average, was significantly higher than rate increases in the past.” He eventually got around to admitting that "significantly higher" meant average healthcare insurance premium increases of 22% to 88%.

Illegal alien heaven: All you can eat meals, free doctors and dentists, free clothing, flat screen TV's, free lawyers

When can I move in?

KXAN-TV reported on the Obama administration’s illegal alien detention center:
“The amenities do not stop simply at safe.
Families will be given a health examination upon arrival along with six sets of fresh clothing for each member. Doctor attention will be available at all times and residents will have access to a dentist. Even the walls of the center have been painted with many colorful characters and pictures as many children are expected to call it home.
““There will be cartoons playing for children and games of that nature,” said Lucero.
“Other amenities include recreational fields, a library, internet access, and a cafeteria which will serve three all-you-can-eat meals a day. Certified teachers will also be on site to provide year-round education and small jobs will also be available paying $3 a day for four hours of work.”

Director of Human Rights Watch: Hamas rocket attacks and kidnappings not a “rights violation”

Ignorance...

Via WFB
Ken Roth, the executive director of Human Rights Watch, claims that terrorist attacks and abductions are not a “rights violation” so long as they only target soldiers.
Tunnels used to attack or capture civilians is a rights violation. Tunnels used to attack or capture soldiers isn’t. http://t.co/gPPScdrYDO
Kenneth Roth (@KenRoth) July 29, 2014
Roth appears ignorant of one of the basic tenets of the Geneva Conventions, the distinction between lawful and unlawful combatants. Terrorists are unlawful combatants under the Geneva Conventions because they do not wear uniforms and are not fighting on behalf of a sovereign state.
Roth also appears ignorant of the Fourth Geneva Convention’s explicit prohibition on the taking of hostages. Article 34 reads, in its entirety: “The taking of hostages is prohibited.” Hamas uses tunnels to attempt to take Israelis hostage.

Incompetence: IRS Agents ‘accidentally’ discharge guns more times than they do intentionally

So, Lois Lerner's hard drive wasn't scratched. It was grazed?

Via Forbes:
The IRS has shown that it has a hard time finding emails and a hard time explaining its recycling of hard drives. Then there are the guns. The elite unit of the IRS that gets to carry guns doesn’t exactly have a perfect safety record.
According to a government audit, IRS Agents ‘Accidentally’ Discharged Guns 11 Times between 2009 and 2011. Some of those weapons discharges resulted in property damage or personal injury, claimed the report. In fact, agents accidentally fired their guns more times than they did intentionally, said the Treasury Inspector General for Tax Administration. The IRS’s Criminal Investigation Division is armed, but armed or not, the IRS wields enormous power.

Lois Lerner: Some GOP are "crazies" and "assholes"

I am pretty sure she was referring to the Tea Party and other conservatives...
WASHINGTON (WJLA/AP) - A former IRS official at the center of the agency's Tea Party controversy referred to some right-wing Republicans as "crazies" and "assholes" in emails released Wednesday. A key GOP lawmaker says the remarks show that Lois Lerner was biased against conservative groups and targeted them for extra scrutiny.
Lerner headed the IRS division that handles applications for tax-exempt status. In a series of emails with an associate in November 2012, Lerner made two disparaging remarks about some members of the GOP, including one remark that was a profane characterization.
Rep. Dave Camp, who chairs the House Ways and Means Committee, released the emails Wednesday as part of his committee's investigation. The Michigan Republican says the emails show Lerner's "disgust with conservatives."
In one email, Lerner called some conservatives crazies. In the other, she called them "assholes." The committee redacted the wording to "_holes" in the material it released publicly, but a committee spokeswoman confirmed to the AP that the email said "assholes."

House votes to sue Obama...

This lawsuit is just a ruse to make the base think the house leadership is fighting against Obama's lawlessness. In the unlikely event it progresses through the courts, the Supreme Court will not get around to it until Obama's term is up, if at all. All Boehner and Republicans have to do is refuse to fund Obama lawlessness. Of course that will likely mean another government shutdown.  Boehner and the current GOP leadership in the House and Senate lack the balls to make Obama blink.

Via WaPo:
Escalating their confrontation with President Obama, House Republicans gave Speaker John A. Boehner (R-Ohio) the power to initiate a lawsuit accusing the administration of breaching constitutional duties through executive orders that served as an end run around Congress.
The nearly party-line vote Wednesday, 225 Republicans voting yes and 201 Democratic nays, illustrated the increasingly polarized climate on Capitol Hill as both parties used the pending federal suit as a rallying cry to their voting bases ahead of the November elections. Halfway across the continent Obama basked in the House’s GOP move, almost gloating at the prospect of being sued for the actions he has taken in the face of a historically high level of congressional gridlock.

Guess where Hamas headquarters in Gaza is...

If you guessed in a bunker under a hospital, you win.

Via Tablet Magazine:
The idea that one of Hamas’ main command bunkers is located beneath Shifa Hospital in Gaza City is one of the worst-kept secrets of the Gaza war. So why aren’t reporters in Gaza ferreting it out? The precise location of a large underground bunker equipped with sophisticated communications equipment and housing some part of the leadership of a major terrorist organization beneath a major hospital would seem to qualify as a world-class scoop—the kind that might merit a Pulitzer, or at least a Polk.
So why isn’t the fact that Hamas uses Shifa Hospital as a command post making headlines? In part, it’s because the location is so un-secret that Hamas regularly meets with reporters there. On July 15, for example, William Booth of the Washington Post wrote that the hospital “has become a de facto headquarters for Hamas leaders, who can be seen in the hallways and offices.” Back in 2006, PBS even aired a documentary showing how gunmen roam the halls of the hospital, intimidate the staff, and deny them access to protected locations within the building—where the camera crew was obviously prohibited from filming. Yet the confirmation that Hamas is using Gaza City’s biggest hospital as its de facto headquarters was made in the last sentence of the eighth paragraph of Booth’s story—which would appear to be the kind of rookie mistake that is known in journalistic parlance as “burying the lede.”

Don't look, but Indiana is now a border state...

Dumping...

Via NRO
Indiana governor Mike Pence said he first learned the federal government had placed 245 unaccompanied alien children in Indiana through media reports.
In a letter to President Obama, Pence wrote that the Department of Health and Human Services informed him that the federal government had housed hundreds of unaccompanied alien children in Indiana from January 1, 2014, to July 7, 2014, but only after reports surfaced in the media.
“While we feel deep compassion for these children, our country must secure its borders and provide for a legal and orderly immigration process,” Pence wrote. “Failure to expedite the return of unaccompanied children thwarts the rule of law and will only continue to send a distorted message that illegally crossing into America is without consequence.”
Pence said HHS would only provide him with updated monthly numbers of unaccompanied alien children living in the Hoosier State during the first week of each month. Pence called this unacceptable and noted that Indiana may be expected to be responsible for the illegal immigrant children’s education, health and welfare.

Obama thanks Muslims for helping "building the very fabric of our nation"

Uh, that will need some explanation, Mr. President.

Via The White House website:
As Muslims throughout the United States and around the world celebrate Eid-al-Fitr, Michelle and I extend our warmest wishes to them and their families. This last month has been a time of fasting, reflection, spiritual renewal, and service to the less fortunate. While Eid marks the completion of Ramadan, it also celebrates the common values that unite us in our humanity and reinforces the obligations that people of all faiths have to each other, especially those impacted by poverty, conflict, and disease.
In the United States, Eid also reminds us of the many achievements and contributions of Muslim Americans to building the very fabric of our nation and strengthening the core of our democracy. That is why we stand with people of all faiths, here at home and around the world, to protect and advance their rights to prosper, and we welcome their commitment to giving back to their communities.
On behalf of the Administration, we wish Muslims in the United States and around the world a blessed and joyous celebration. Eid Mubarak.

Senator Jeff Sessions: House Border Bill is surrender to Obama's illegal amnesty plan...

Here’s the statement:
The Obama Administration has openly declared its plan to implement a unilateral executive amnesty for 5–6 million more illegal immigrants. This unlawful amnesty—urged on by congressional Democrats—would include work permits, taking jobs directly from millions of struggling American citizens.
Any action Congress might consider to address the current border crisis would be futile should the President go forward with these lawless actions. Congress must speak out and fight against them. It must use its spending power to stop the President’s executive amnesty.
That the House leaders’ border package includes no language on executive actions is surrender to a lawless President. And it is a submission to the subordination of congressional power.
After years of falling wages and rising joblessness, American workers are pleading for someone to hear them. How can it be that our President is brazenly advertising that he will nullify and strip away American workers’ immigration protections, and their own elected leaders will not rise to their defense? Or to the defense of our laws and our Constitutional order?
There are other grave concerns with the Granger package as well: because it does not fix our asylum rules and loopholes, the end result of the additional judges and hearings will be more illegal immigrants gaining asylum and access to U.S. welfare. It is a plan for expedited asylum, not expedited removal.
Nor will this package make our rogue President actively enforce anything, coming nowhere close to the kinds of reasonable enforcement activities needed to restore the interior application of our immigration laws.
And finally, a package that is silent on blocking amnesty creates an opportunity for Senate Democrats to add elements of their party’s open borders and mass immigration agenda.
This legislation is unworthy of support.

Israel takes out Gaza power plant....

Escalation...

Via Sky News:
Israeli tank fire struck the fuel depot of Gaza's only power plant this morning, potetionally cutting electricity to the enclave's 1.8 million residents.
The powerplant, which supplies two thirds of the territory's energy needs, was engulfed in flames sending a column of black smoke into the air.
The plant was hit last week and had been operating on a reduced capacity providing only a few hours of electricity per day to Gaza's residents.
"The power plant is finished," said its director, Mohammed al Sharif, who added the local fire brigade was not equipped to extinguish the blaze.
The depot was hit after another night of continued Israeli bombardment on Gaza, the heaviest in three weeks of fighting.

Appellate court rules in favor of Ground Zero Cross...

Best story of the day.

War Crimes: 30 Palestinians executed in Gaza...

Hey Jew haters, it wasn't Israel. It was Hamas.

Via Times of Israel:
Hamas has executed more than 30 suspected collaborators in the Gaza Strip over the past few days, a Palestinian news agency reported on Monday.
Unnamed Palestinian security sources in Gaza told Palestine Press News Agency that Hamas has managed to apprehend dozens of suspected spies in the northern neighborhood of Shejaiya — which saw heavy fighting with the IDF last week — and summarily executed them following a short investigation. The sources said that many of the suspects were caught with weapons, telephones, and SIM cards from the Israeli cell provider Orange.

Several hundred Iraqi Christians at WH chant: “Obama, Obama, where are you?"

Why he is on the golf course of course.

Via Breitbart:
Several hundred people gathered in front of the White House on Saturday, chanting, “Obama, Obama, where are you? Iraqi Christians call for you!”
Iraqi Christians held demonstrations in a number of cities on Saturday, including Washington, Paris, The Hague, Cologne, and London, in order to bring attention to the current assault on Christians by the Islamic State (IS)– formerly the Islamic State of Iraq and al-Sham (ISIS) jihadists. One week ago, Christians were forced out of Mosul, Iraq’s second largest city, and many Christian monasteries, shrines and churches have since been destroyed.
His Grace Mar Paulus Benjamin, a bishop in the Assyrian Church of the East, made the 12-hour bus ride from Chicago with parishioners to attend the demonstration in Washington. I spoke with him in front of the White House: “Iraq’s Christians are being ignored by the United States, the United Nations, and the human rights organizations,” the Bishop said. “For us, America is a symbol of freedom and protection of human rights. I think of America in World War II, when America came to the rescue of Europe. Then, the enemy was the Nazis. Today it is ISIS. The names are different, but the religious cleansing is the same.”

Sarah Palin gets a speeding ticket. TMZ calls her, “Bitch”, “Bad Mom”, “Dumb”

They need to ease up on the Kool-Aid over at TMZ.  The mention of Sarah Palin or George Bush turns liberals into raging idiots.

Via Breitbart:
Wednesday during TMZ’s segment on former Governor Sarah Palin (R-AK) getting a speeding ticket, they thought it would be entertaining television to, without provocation or explanation, have random staffers openly attack the Tea Party firebrand as a “bitch,” “dumb,” and a “horrible mom.”
TMZ opened the segment by reporting on when Palin was given a speeding ticket in her hometown for driving 63 miles per hour in a 45 mph zone, and she said, “I wasn’t speeding I was qualifying.”
But then it quickly turned ugly, when, without justification, the staffers launched into a nasty, random, name-calling attack. One staff member exclaimed out of nowhere, “She’s a bitch.” Another chimed in, saying, “She’s a really bad mom,” while another added, “She’s a horrible mom.”
A third concluded, “She’s not evil. She’s too dumb to be good or evil.”

Federal District Court Strikes Down Washington D.C. Draconian Handgun Law...

This is a big Second Amendment victory...

Via Legal Insurrection
Well, well, well–I guess the big guy upstairs knew I could do with a pick-me-up while I struggle through this respiratory infection. And boy, did he deliver big (with a h/t to Ace of Spades HQ).
In light of Heller, McDonald, and their progeny, there is no longer any basis on which this Court can conclude that the District of Columbia’s total ban on the public carrying of ready-to-use handguns outside the home is constitutional under any level of scrutiny. Therefore, the Court finds that the District of Columbia’s complete ban on the carrying of handguns in public is unconstitutional.
Palmer v. District of Columbia (1:09-CV-1482 , filed July 26, 2014; full decision at the end of this post).
This should, of course, be the common fate of virtually every gun law currently on the books, particularly when (as is the only proper legal course) strict scrutiny is applied to the thousands of state and Federal laws that continue to irrationally infringe our rights to keep and bear arms.
Kudos to Attorney Alan Gura, for his continuing masterful efforts in defense and promotion of the Second Amendment to the Constitution of the United States of America. As Alan noted in his own blog, Reality-Based Litigation:

Obamanomics: Household wealth decreases by over one third during Obama's presidency...

Where has all the money gone? The government gave it to unions, global warming fraud, failed green energy projects and entitlement bloodsuckers. Do you miss George W. Bush yet?

The New York Times reported:
Economic inequality in the United States has been receiving a lot of attention. But it’s not merely an issue of the rich getting richer. The typical American household has been getting poorer, too.
The inflation-adjusted net worth for the typical household was $87,992 in 2003. Ten years later, it was only $56,335, or a 36 percent decline, according to a study financed by the Russell Sage Foundation. Those are the figures for a household at the median point in the wealth distribution — the level at which there are an equal number of households whose worth is higher and lower. But during the same period, the net worth of wealthy households increased substantially.
The Russell Sage study also examined net worth at the 95th percentile. (For households at that level, 94 percent of the population had less wealth and 4 percent had more.) It found that for this well-do-do slice of the population, household net worthincreased 14 percent over the same 10 years. Other research, by economists like Edward Wolff at New York University, has shown even greater gains in wealth for the richest 1 percent of households. Read more here.

A Reid representative did not immediately respond to a request from The News seeing comment, but the senator’s office did refute the report to the Examiner, claiming the Nevadan has gone home “over 100%” more than the numbers cited in the review.

WH claims they take possibility of impeachment...

They are lying. Boehner doesn't have the cahones and the White House knows it. It is a great fundraising ploy.

As is always the case with anything involving former-Alaska Governor Sarah Palin, our unbiased, objective, not-at-all-liberal media couldn’t wait to mock her impeachment case against President Obama — but not everyone is laughing. According to reporting from The Hill, The White House fears exactly that should the president take executive action to grant amnesty to thousands of illegals.
Senior White House advisers are taking very seriously the possibility that Republicans in Congress will try to impeach President Obama, especially if he takes executive action to slow deportations.
Dan Pfeiffer, a senior adviser to Obama, said Friday that the White House is taking the prospect of impeachment in the GOP-controlled House more seriously than many others in Washington, who see it as unlikely.

Obamacare chief architect "Baghdad Bob" Jonathan Gruber loses all credibility...

Gruber is claiming he misspoke in the 2012 video where he claimed denying subsidies to states that don't set up their own exchanges was a feature of Obamacare, not a typo.  A second audio of him saying essentially the same thing at a different time has emerged. Gruber is now the Baghdad Bob of Obamacare...
Gruber told The New Republic [after the first video clip emerged] that he had made a mistake.
“I was speaking off-the-cuff. It was just a mistake. People make mistakes. Congress made a mistake drafting the law and I made a mistake talking about it,” Gruber told The New Republic’s Jonathan Cohn. “But there was never any intention to literally withhold money, to withhold tax credits, from the states that didn’t take that step. That’s clear in the intent of the law and if you talk to anybody who worked on the law. My subsequent statement was just a speak-o—you know, like a typo.”
A second recording has surfaced showing Gruber making similar statements about subsidies not being available on federally run exchanges. Asked over email whether those remarks were a mistake, too, Gruber wrote back, “same answer.”

Since enough illegals aren't sneaking across the border, Obama wants to fly some more here...

This sounds like an article from The Onion, but it isn't.

Via NY Times:
Hoping to stem the recent surge of migrants at the Southwest border, the Obama administration is considering whether to allow hundreds of minors and young adults from Honduras into the United States without making the dangerous trek through Mexico, according to a draft of the proposal.
If approved, the plan would direct the government to screen thousands of children and youths in Honduras to see if they can enter the United States as refugees or on emergency humanitarian grounds. It would be the first American refugee effort in a nation reachable by land to the United States, the White House said, putting the violence in Honduras on the level of humanitarian emergencies in Haiti and Vietnam, where such programs have been conducted in the past amid war and major crises.
Critics of the plan were quick to pounce, saying it appeared to redefine the legal definition of a refugee and would only increase the flow of migration to the United States. Administration officials said they believed the plan could be enacted through executive action, without congressional approval, as long as it did not increase the total number of refugees coming into the country.
By moving decisions on refugee claims to Honduras, the plan aims to slow the rush of minors crossing into the United States illegally from El Salvador, Honduras and Guatemala, which has overwhelmed the border this year. More than 45,000 unaccompanied minors from those three nations have arrived since Oct. 1, straining federal resources to the point that some agencies will exhaust their budgets by next month, the secretary of Homeland Security has said.

Hillary Clinton Head Injury Update: She Thinks The Russian Reset Worked!

Delusional...
Washington (CNN) – It worked.
That is the argument former Secretary of State Hillary Clinton made during a Thursday interview about her much talked about 2009 reset of U.S.-Russia relations.
The statement comes as Russia, under President Vladimir Putin, has distanced itself from the United States, and the country is widely seen by U.S. and European analysts as linked to the downing of a passenger airliner earlier this month in Ukraine.
“What I think I demonstrate in the book, is that the reset worked,” Clinton told guest host John Harwood on NPR’s “On Point” on Thursday during a conversation about her new memoir, “Hard Choices.” “It was an effort to try to obtain Russian cooperation on some key objectives while (Dmitry) Medvedev was president.”
Clinton later said the reset “succeeded” and was meant to be “a device to try to refocus attention on the transactional efforts that we needed to get done with the Russians.”

It was an absentee rate that federal Immigration Judge Michael Baird said was “highly unusual,” so high that he reset the hearings for Aug. 11 rather than possibly issuing a deportation order.
Baird said he was concerned that the children may not have received proper notice of the hearings from the government. Attorney Lynn Javier, with the U.S. Department of Homeland Security, agreed that it was “prudent” to reset the hearings.

Shock Poll: Only eighteen percent of Americans better off under Obamacare...

Obama and democrats shook up everyone in Americans healthcare and only eighteen percent of Americans are better off.

Eighteen percent of Americans, or fewer than one in five, say they or someone in their family is better off because of the Affordable Care Act, according to a new poll by CNN. Nearly twice that number, 35 percent, say they or someone in their family is worse off. A larger group, 46 percent, say they are about the same after Obamacare as before.
In nearly all demographic categories — age, income, education, etc. — more people say they are worse off because of Obamacare than say they are better off.
For example, one might expect respondents with incomes below $50,000 to be somewhat likely to say Obamacare has helped them. And that is the case: 21 percent say they are better off because of the Affordable Care Act. But 35 percent say they are worse off. (Forty-four percent are the same.)

Confirmed: Socialism makes people more likely to be cheaters...

This explained a lot about Obama's character.

Via CNS News:
Individuals exposed to socialism were twice as likely to cheat as those who had not been in a socialist system, says a new study from a collaboration between Duke University and the University of Munich. “The longer individuals were exposed to socialism, the more likely they were to cheat on our task.”
Researchers compared 259 participants’ willingness to lie and cheat by playing a simple game that could earn them $8. Every game player was asked to throw a pair of dice 40 times and record every roll of the dice on paper. Those with the highest tallies would have the highest payoff. Players had to commit to write down the number on either the top or the bottom of the dice. Since they didn’t have to say which side they had chosen, it was easy to cheat by rolling the dice and then pretending the higher number was the side they had chosen. [...]

Businessman David Perdue beats Rep. Jack Kingston in Georgia GOP Senate runoff

Voters really are anti-Washington this year. It doesn't bode well for incumbents facing tough challenges in November.

Via FOX News:
Businessman David Perdue narrowly defeated 11-term Rep. Jack Kingston Tuesday in a Republican runoff election for Georgia's U.S. Senate nomination, setting up a general election race against Democrat Michelle Nunn with national implications.
With all precincts reporting, Perdue led Kingston by approximately 8,500 votes out of over 480,000 cast.
Perdue's victory validates the former corporate CEO's campaign as an outsider. The former CEO of Reebok, Dollar General and the failed textile firm Pillowtex, Perdue offered his private sector record and tremendous wealth as proof that he can help solve the nation's ills in a Congress largely devoid of experienced business titans. He spent more than $3 million of his own money blasting Kingston -- and other primary rivals before that -- as a career politician, including one ad depicting his rivals as crying babies.
"If we want to change Washington, then we've got to change the people we send to Washington," he would say as he met voters.

Obama admits it a lie he hears about scandals through the news media...

Obama knows about all the scandals his administration is involved in. he just isn't going to acknowledge them until the mainstream media takes an interest.
BELLEVUE, Wash. — People don’t tend to vote on foreign policy. But reflecting on the crises in Ukraine, Gaza, Syria and Iraq that followed him as he headed to the West Coast for a fundraising swing, President Barack Obama acknowledged that they’re adding to an anxiety that’s feeding cynicism that could hurt his party in the midterms. [...]
Some of that cynicism, Obama joked was because of the news, which he said he doesn’t tend to watch himself.
Confronted with scandals — from the NSA to Veterans Affairs on down — Obama often falls back on the defense of saying he was outraged when he learned about the problems from news reports. To the crowd in Seattle, though, he said about the news, “Whatever they’re reporting about, usually I know.”

Shocker: Lois Lerner's hard drive was "scratched"

House Ways and Means Committee investigators are closing in on Lerner and her cronies. Her hard drive was "scratched." For how that could have happened, check this tech board post from 2006.
Washington, DC – Despite early refusals to make available IT professionals who worked on Lois Lerner’s computer, Ways and Means Committee investigators have now learned from interviews that the hard drive of former IRS Exempt Organizations Director Lois Lerner was “scratched,” but data was recoverable.   In fact, in-house professionals at the IRS recommended the Agency seek outside assistance in recovering the data.  That information conflicts with a July 18, 2014 court filing by the Agency, which stated the data on the hard drive was unrecoverable – including multiple years’ worth of missing emails.

“It is unbelievable that we cannot get a simple, straight answer from the IRS about this hard drive,” said Ways and Means Committee Chairman Dave Camp (R-MI).  “The Committee was told no data was recoverable and the physical drive was recycled and potentially shredded.  To now learn that the hard drive was only scratched, yet the IRS refused to utilize outside experts to recover the data, raises more questions about potential criminal wrong doing at the IRS.”

It is also unknown whether the scratch was accidental or deliberate, but former federal law enforcement and Department of Defense forensic experts consulted by the Committee say that most of the data on a scratched drive, such as Lerner’s, should have been recoverable.  However, in a declaration filed last Friday by the IRS, the agency said it tried but failed to recover the data, but is not sure what happened to the hard drive afterwards other than saying they believe it was recycled, which, according to the court filing means “shredded.”

Further complicating the situation, the Committee’s investigation has revealed evidence that this declaration may not be accurate.  A review of internal IRS IT tracking system documents revealed that Lerner’s computer was actually once described as “recovered.”  In a transcribed interview on July 18, IRS IT employees were unable to confirm the accuracy of the documents or the meaning of the entry “recovered.”

Noted capitalism critic Michael Moore reportedly owns nine homes...

Michael Moore 66ème Festival de Venise (Mostra) color.jpg

It seems Michael Moore likes capitalism more than he has let on.
Central Lake — A lakefront mansion. Dueling movie producers. Super agents joining the fray. A drunken driving arrest. The possible hiring of private investigators.
The divorce of Michael Moore has this normally sedate community northeast of Traverse City all atwitter.
The filmmaker, 60, who split his time between a home here and one in New York, is leaving his wife of 22 years, Kathy Glynn.
The breakup is scheduled to be finalized in a settlement Tuesday at Antrim County Circuit Court in nearby Bellaire. [...]
Moore and Glynn own nine properties in Michigan and New York, including a Manhattan condo that once was three apartments. CelebrityNetWorth.com pegs their wealth at $50 million.
In legal pleadings, Moore blames his wife for the expansion of the 10,000-square-foot home on Torch Lake, which has a value of $2 million.
He listed six media reports from 2011, which poked fun at the defender-of-the-poor for owning such a big house, as exhibits in the divorce case.
“He criticizes capitalism, but capitalism made him rich,” said Gary Tracy, owner of Bellaire Bait and Tackle. Keep on reading...

The IRS has a new job for Lois Lerner

They need 3,200 hard drives destroyed. Lois Lerner is perfect.

Via Washington Times:
Days after IRS officials said in a sworn statement that former top agency employee Lois G. Lerner’s computer memory had been wiped clean, the agency put out word to contractors Monday that it needs help to destroy at least another 3,200 hard drives.
The Internal Revenue Service solicitation for “media destruction” services reflects an otherwise routine job to protect sensitive taxpayer information, but it was made while the agency’s record destruction practices remain under a sharp congressional spotlight.
Congressional investigators of the IRS targeting of conservative groups have been hampered by the unexplained destruction of emails and other records of Ms. Lerner, the former head of the IRS tax-exempt division and a central figure in the scandal.
The loss of Ms. Lerner’s hard drive also raised broader questions about why the tax agency never reported the missing records to the National Archives and Records Administration, as required by the Federal Records Act.

Texas State Senator: Over 100,000 illegal gang members in Texas...

Is this the fundamental change Obama wanted to bring?

Via Breitbart
Hours before Texas Gov. Rick Perry announced he would send National Guard troops to the border, Texas state Senator Dan Patrick said there are at least 100,000 illegal immigrant gang members in the state.
On Monday's The Laura Ingraham Show, Patrick, who is also the Republican candidate for lieutenant governor, said from 2008 to 2012, 143,000 illegal immigrant criminals were arrested and jailed in Texas. He said these were "hardened criminals, gang members, and other criminals that we identified as being in Texas illegally."
"We charged them with 447,000 crimes, a half-million crimes in four years, just in Texas, including over 5,000 rapes and 2,000 murders," Patrick said. "We estimate we have 100,000 gang members here illegally."
Patrick also observed during his trips to the border and detention centers that many of the "young children" are teenagers and with parents and family members. He said there is a concern that some are "gang members" and that potential terrorists can exploit the porous border.

Why Lois Lerner may have sh*t a brick today...

Ruh, Roh!

Via Politico:
The IRS had said no copies of Lerner’s correspondence were available because the agency at the time backed up emails for only six months on tapes — then recycled the tapes for reuse, essentially erasing the data. IRS Commissioner John Koskinen also testified to the matter before lawmakers.
Kane suggested that might not be the case.
“There is an issue as to whether or not there is a — that all of the backup recovery tapes were destroyed on the six-month retention schedule,” he said.

Lifeline: Obama sending Hamas $47 million

I know it's supposed to be humanitarian aid, but that will only allow Hamas and the other Jew haters to spend their money on missiles and bombs.
CAIRO (AP) – The U.S. is sending $47 million in humanitarian aid to the besieged Gaza Strip to help tens of thousands of Palestinians there who have been forced from their homes since war broke out two weeks ago.
A State Department breakdown of the aid that was released Monday said nearly a third of the money — $15 million — will go to the United Nations’ refugee mission in Gaza.
U.S. Secretary of State John Kerry was expected to discuss the aid with U.N. Secretary General Ban Ki-Moon in a meeting late Monday in Cairo.
Kerry arrived in the Egyptian capital only hours earlier in a U.S. push to help broker a truce between Israel and the militant group Hamas that controls Gaza.

Guess what! Even more IRS employes involved in targeting conservatives had hard drive crashes...

I wonder how so many IRS employees involved in targeting the Tea Party and conservative groups had their hard drives fail.  They must have read this instruction.

Via The Daily Caller:

IRS Deputy Associate Chief Counsel Thomas Kane said in transcribed congressional testimony that more IRS officials experienced computer crashes, bringing the total number of crash victims to “less than 20,” and also said that the agency does not know if the lost emails are still backed up somewhere.

The new round of computer crash victims includes David Fish, who routinely corresponded with Lois Lerner, as well as Lerner subordinate Andy Megosh, Lerner’s technical adviser Justin Lowe, and Cincinnati-based agent Kimberly Kitchens

Hero: Gov. Rick Perry sending National Guard to border...

Your move Obama.

Via The Monitor:
Texas Gov. Rick Perry is set to announce Monday that 1,000 U.S. National Guard troops will be deployed to the Rio Grande Valley, according to an internal memo detailing the plan obtained on Sunday.
State Sen. Juan “Chuy” Hinojosa, D-McAllen, confirmed that Perry is set to announce the deployment on Monday.
“Gov. Perry plans to hold a press conference tomorrow at 2 p.m. and he is calling up the National Guard to help out on the border,” Hinojosa said Sunday evening. “Of course, we are opposed to bringing up the National Guard. We do not need to militarize the border. These are families and children. We need to manage the situation.”
The National Guard troops will be deployed to the Valley to join the Texas Department of Public Safety in its recent surge to combat human smuggling and drug trafficking amid the influx of mostly Central Americans illegally crossing the Rio Grande.
“This is not a militarization of the border,” the memo states. “The DPS and the National Guard are working to keep any drug and human trafficking south of (U.S. Highway) 83 and with the goal of keeping any smuggling from entering major highways to transport East/West/and North.”
DPS officials want to send National Guard troops into western areas of the Valley and the ranch lands further north, according to the memo.

Here is the sign all restaurants need...

This restaurant in Tennessee is leading the way.

Via The Blaze:
As many restaurants, including Starbucks, Sonic and Chili’s, tell customers to leave their guns at home, one restaurant in East Tennessee took a different approach — and gained quite a few customers.
Sharma Floyd, owner of Shiloh Brew and Chew, adopted a gun-friendly policy after she read about other restaurants banning firearms, WBIR-TV reported.
“[The other restaurant] had put up a sign that said ‘No Weapons Allowed’ and they were robbed at gunpoint two days later,” Floyd recounted. “That got me thinking.”
She posted a “Guns are Welcome” sign on the front door of her establishment about a month ago, and since then, she says business has really picked up.

Protesting veterans in Delaware turn backs to Obama motorcade... (Video)

Obama and dems claim the border is secure. Border patrol take .50- caliber fire from Mexican side...

Now you know why Obama won't go to the border. It's not secure or safe. I wouldn't be surprised if the reason he won't visit is security objections by the Secret Service. He would need fighters overhead and American Apache helicopters and Green Berets on the Mexican side.
“When the shooting stopped, about 40 to 50 people came out on the U.S. side and turned themselves in. So clearly the rounds were being fired to suppress every effort to stop anybody intervening with anyone or anything coming across,” Gohmert added. “We have no idea what or how many or whom came across with the other illegal immigrants.”
Sources said they believe the gunfire came from members of Mexican drug cartels, which include former military members trained in shooting that type of weaponry.
Border Patrol sources said the rounds were clearly identifiable because .50- caliber weapons make a distinctive noise when fired. Sources said they also believe this is the first time that Border Patrol agents have taken direct fire from the Mexican side of the river in this area.
“I don’t know why we’re out here like sitting ducks,” one Border Patrol source said. “We need help.”

What does a UN agency do when they find Hamas rockets?

They give them back to Hamas.  This is why we should quit the UN and trow the bums out of New York.
United Nations agency that last week found rockets in a Gaza school operating under its auspices has handed that weaponry over to Hamas, Israeli officials said Sunday, accusing the organization of actively helping the terrorist organization potentially attack Israeli civilians.
“The rockets were passed on to the government authorities in Gaza, which is Hamas. In other words, UNRWA handed to Hamas rockets that could well be shot at Israel,” a senior Israeli official told The Times of Israel.
A different senior official said UNRWA, the United Nations Relief and Works Agency for Palestine Refugees in the Near East, charged with overseeing humanitarian efforts in Gaza, has been suffering from “battered-wife syndrome” for years and currently “attempts to ingratiate itself with Hamas.”

Don't tell anybody, but there is an anaconda loose in a NJ lake...

Photograph by LA Dawson

Reportedly, the green anaconda is 16-foot-long. What could go wrong?
A reptile expert said Friday that he wants to go "on the record" and confirm that New Jersey authorities are searching for an anaconda, not a boa constrictor, in the state's largest lake.
"I was sworn to keep my mouth shut by local officials to avoid causing a panic," Gerald Andrejcak, the specialist, told NJ.com. "Now that there's a panic, I'm going on the record."
He said when the snake was called a boa, it wasn't exactly a lie, because the snakes are technically in the same family. However, anacondas, made famous by the 1997 movie starring Jennifer Lopez, can send chills through a community because their diet consists of deer and other large mammals. They also have no natural predators.
Andrejack, who works for Common Sense for Animals, was searching Lake Hopatcong in Jefferson Township, which is in the northern part of the state. He told the paper that he determined it was a green anaconda last week after hearing reports about the snake's behavior and where it was spotted.
He said he told a member of the Hopatcong animal control about his suspicions and was told to keep quiet.

WikiWars: Russian government edits Wikipedia to claim Ukraine shot down flight MH17

Before editing, the entry said flight MH17 was shot down by separatists with equipment given to them by Russia.

Via The Telegraph:
A political battle has broken out on Wikipedia over an entry relating to the crash of Malaysian Airlines flight MH17, with the Russian government reportedly removing sections which accuse it of providing "terrorists" with missiles that were used to down the civilian airliner.
A Twitter bot which monitors edits made to the online encyclopaedia from Russian government IP addresses (unique numbers relating to certain computers or networks) has spotted that changes are being made to a page relating to the crash.
It appears that an internet user from within the All-Russia State Television and Radio Broadcasting Company (VGTRK) changed a Russian language version of a page listing civil aviation accidents to say that "The plane [flight MH17] was shot down by Ukrainian soldiers".
By the way, Congress loves to play this game.

Good news for Republicans in Massachusetts...

The next Mitt Romney?
BOSTON (Reuters) - A Republican former hospital executive has pulled into a statistical tie with Massachusetts' Democratic attorney general in the race to be the state's next governor, according to a Boston Globe poll released on Friday.
The poll showed Attorney General Martha Coakley holding the support of 39 percent of likely voters, while Republican Charlie Baker had the backing of 36 percent, a 3 percentage point gap that is within the poll's 4 point margin of error.
That finding, based on a telephone poll of 605 likely voters on July 7-8 and 13-5, is the closest the two have been in any major survey conducted in the run-up to the November election.

Nonunion FedEx indicted by Obama administration for shipping drugs from illegal pharmacies...

FedEx just picks up and delivers packages. Why are they responsible for vetting the contents? Did unionized UPS ever ship anything from an illegal online pharmacy?

Via Clickon Detroit
FedEx was indicted Thursday for allegedly shipping prescription drugs from illegal online pharmacies to dealers and addicts , according to documents filed in federal court.
The shipping giant, however, said it is innocent and will plead not guilty.
While some Internet pharmacies are managed by well-known chains and follow proper protocol, others fail to require a prescription before filling orders. Instead, they only require a person to complete an online questionnaire, without meeting with a physician.
“The advent of Internet pharmacies allowed the cheap and easy distribution of massive amounts of illegal prescription drugs to every corner of the United States, while allowing perpetrators to conceal their identities through the anonymity the Internet provides,” said U.S. Attorney Melinda Haag.
She added: “This indictment highlights the importance of holding corporations that knowingly enable illegal activity responsible for their role in aiding criminal behavior.”

Qatar took 5 terrorists off Obama's hands and they get a multibillion arms deal...

Payoff? If you are concerned about what terrorists can do with old Russian SAM's, wait until Patriot Missiles fall into their hands.

Via The Examiner:
In the biggest arms deal so far this year, the Obama Administration finalized a multi-billion dollar weapons deal with the Persian Gulf nation of Qatar. As reported by the Agence France Presse via The Daily Star (of Beirut, Lebanon) on July 15, 2014 and also by the Reuters news service via The Fiscal Times, on July 14, 2014, some of the most advanced American military technology will soon be signed over to the Middle Eastern nation.
While the specifics of the sale were solidly under wraps by Department of Defense officials, the agreement itself was signed off by U.S. Defense Secretary Chuck Hagel and Qatar’s defense minister, Hamad bin Ali al-Attiyah at the Pentagon. However, speaking on grounds of strict anonymity, an American official has verified to Agence France Presse that the Qataris have purchased "roughly" 10 batteries of Patriot missiles, as well as 24 of the cutting edge Apache attack helicopters and 500 Javelin anti-tank missiles.
