She can be a powerful voice, but I doubt she can ever win office again.Just a conservative girlhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/11982406297072353275noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-2916809362071329011.post-89380399523905432382009-07-05T21:59:59.006-04:002009-07-05T21:59:59.006-04:00Sarah strikes me as the next Reagan. When I first ...Sarah strikes me as the next Reagan. When I first heard her speak there was that same intangible feeling elicited that she was a genuine person of character. So far, all of her actions have supported that snap conclusion.

In her speeches she drew major crowds of people, embarrassing the McPain camp and these were wildly enthusiastic people who apparently were moved by her as I was.

It's pretty easy to be cynical in this day & age, where image is everything and few of our leaders have any substance, Republican & Democrat alike.

Anyone who saw the movie, Mr Smith goes to Washington (made by an American immigrant that loved his new country) has to recognize the same qualities in Sarah Palin, that Jimmy Stewart so brillianty portrayed.

I think Sarah's done with "Poliics as usual" and intends to help start a 3rd party of Conservatives and in her parting speech she already laid out the platform:

1. Smaller Government
2. Energy Independence
3. Strong National Defense

From a strictly strategic point of view it has to be viewed as a mistake to fracture the Republican party since her new party would only take votes from Republicans and not hurt the Democrats at all. However, I say God speed & I'm with her if this is the path she chooses.

I'm sure the path in 1773 didn't seem on the surface to be such an attractive proposition.

I hope everyone had a wonderful 4th and celebrated the miracle of 233 years of freedom. Something that has been a scare & rare commodity over the last 50,000 years of human society.

We discuss these things live, daily on MagChat.

Mag
www.magchat.comMaghttps://www.blogger.com/profile/01046846040595727405noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-2916809362071329011.post-21160894193816587092009-07-05T21:41:51.298-04:002009-07-05T21:41:51.298-04:00Thanks for the follow, responded in kind. But, then, I'm not sure there are many Republicans that want to be leaders of a CONSERVATIVE party, and that's where her heart really is. She's going to be an independent thinker, moving in the de-alignment/Glenn Beck direction, picking up the independent/Tea Party people. I don't know if she sees where God has the "open door" for her politically. I'm sure she's looking for it, and won't do anything until she knows where God wants her. But there's a disaffected Constitutionalist movement out there to be had, if anyone has the guts to lead it.BossLadyhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/13640591540930261146noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-2916809362071329011.post-83546952162892691502009-07-05T19:37:36.470-04:002009-07-05T19:37:36.470-04:00I see a few differences in the way Obama did it an...I see a few differences in the way Obama did it and the next road for Palin whatever that may be.

I think she quit not because she could not handle the pressure but because she is a "can do" person who wants to get things done. She and her husband have been targeted and the lawsuits just kept rolling in. They are not wealthy people...yet.

There is no way the Dems will give her a break. I'm sure they are roosting in Alaska to create all the crisis they can. There is no way they will let her leave the state with her numbers up for her service as a governor - no matter how well she performed.

One thing Obama couldn't do until he began running was say anything that anyone cared to hear. Palin will be different. She will speak and she will be heard and the people will love it.

From there I don't know. I personally hope she does not try to run for the Oval Office in 2012. After that I don't know, but I'm glad we will have the opportunity to see her without the restraints of a government behind her.

Thanks so much for the "follow." I've done the same with Bluegrass Pundit. I appreciate your visit today.Maggie Thorntonhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/01681328690482778919noreply@blogger.com
