Flashback: Obama Now and 2007 on Health Care Reform

President Obama has undergone a huge transition in what he is saying about health care reform. Now President Obama thinks we can greatly expand coverage while reducing costs and decreasing the deficit without increasing taxes on ordinary Americans. In 2007, he supported reform, but he was much more honest and practical about the problems. Here is a sample of his statements.

From the video:
"It is possible to capture savings 'in theory'."
"The question is how do people feel about paying additional money."
Of a single payer system, "It would cost a huge amount of money."
"Initially you may need another $90-100 billion each year."
"Higher taxes"
Medicare and Medicaid forces providers to "suck up the cost."
