Michelle Obama's popularity plummets after Spain trip

Michelle Obama's ritzy vacation in a $2500 a night Spanish hotel room has turned off Americans. Many are people are struggling in an economy where real unemployment may be as high as 17%. Her 50% approval rating is now below Barbara Bush's rating of 56% in 2006. At that time, her husband, President Bush was about as popular as root canal.

The NY Daily News reported:
The First Lady's approval rating has plummeted following her highly-criticized, luxurious Mediterranean vacation with her 9-year-old daughter, a new poll finds.

According to the Wall Street Journal/NBC News poll (pdf), just 50% have a positive impression of her — compared to 64% who answered favorably in a similar April 2009 poll.

  2. Very pleased to report our top notch experience with Spain tours. We had to scamble to find a tour to Spain on New Years Eve when our original tour operator cancelled trip. We then found www.privatetoursinistanbul.com online. They were very responsive in emails to arrange a substitute plan for us to have a private guide/driver who picked us up at our hotel, gave us a brief overview of Madrid as we drove to Spain, and then an excellent tour of Toledo. He made several stops with us, tailored to our interests, took us to a few spots typical tour bus would not go to. Excellent and less expensive than some our private tours we and our hotel concierge had found.
