Heartache: Number of High Schools Competing For Obama Commencement Speech Down to 68 From 1000 Last Year

It looks like Obama isn't the change high schools were hoping for. The number of schools hoping to score President Obama for their commencement speech has declined from 1000 last year to only 68 so far this year.
A follow-up memo on February 28 reported receipt of 68 applications. Noting the competition among more than 1,000 schools last year, the memo said, “Something isn’t working.” It called on staffers to ask “friendly congressional, gubernatorial and mayoral offices” to encourage schools to apply.
"Something isn't working"? No kidding. We know what it is.
