Cave: Wisconsin Marathon County Labor Council to Allow Republicans in Labor Day Parade

The Marathon County Labor Council was going to be forced to pay the insurance and police costs for their Labor Day parade if Republicans were excluded. They caved. It's always about the money with unions.
WAUSAU, Wis. (WLS) - The Marathon County Labor Council has reversed a decision that excluded Republican politicians from participating in the Labor Day parade in Wausau.

Labor Council President Randy Radtke earlier said Republican elected officials were not invited because they supported changes to collective bargaining for public employee unions. Wausau Mayor Jim Tipple responded by threatening to withhold financial support for the parade unless everyone was allowed to participate.

WSAW-TV says Radtke released a statement Wednesday which said the Labor Council didn't want community groups and school bands affected, so Republicans will be allowed in the parade.

Tipple told WLS Radio's Bruce Wolf and Dan Proft show Tuesday that the city provides an insurance premium, a stage setup and police traffic control for the parade. Tipple said the city would have required the Labor Council to reimburse the city for those expenses if it didn't reverse its decision. Keep on reading...

About those alleged stimulus jobs

Half the jobs claimed were employees shifted from one job to another job.

From Commentary:

This is yet another example of why it’s tough to calculate the actual job-stimulating benefits of the stimulus plan. The Recovery Act’s success is typically measured by looking at how many jobs have been created. But there’s also job “shifting,” which happens when a business uses stimulus funds to hire someone who was already employed at another company. And according to a new study from George Mason University’s Mercatus Center, that’s been the case with nearly half of the workers hired under the Recovery Act:
Hiring isn’t the same as net job creation. In our survey, just 42.1 percent of the workers hired at ARRA-receiving organizations after January 31, 2009, were unemployed at the time they were hired (Appendix C). More were hired directly from other organizations (47.3 percent of post-ARRA workers), while a handful came from school (6.5 percent) or from outside the labor force (4.1 percent)(Figure 2). Thus, there was an almost even split between “job creating” and “job switching.” This suggests just how hard it is for Keynesian job creation to work in a modern, expertise-based economy: even in a weak economy, organizations hired the employed about as often as the unemployed.

President Obama's support among women is withering

Only 41% of women now approve of the job President Obama is doing. That is a new low. Obama's support among women is down from a high of 70% early in his presidency.
(CNSNews) — Barack Obama defeated Sen. John McCain 56 percent to 43 percent among female voters in the 2008 presidential election, according to the network exit poll, and Obama’s job performance as president won the support of 70 percent of women early in his tenure.
But Gallup polling last week showed that only 41 percent of women now say they approve of the way Obama is handling his job as president. That is an all-time low — down from the previous low of 43 percent, which is what Obama’s approval had been among women in each of the previous three weeks.
Obama’s approval has dropped 11 points among women over the past three months. In the last week of May, according to the Gallup poll, the president’s approval among females was at 52 percent.

Boehner Rebuffs Obama's Attempt to Upstage the Next GOP Presidential Debate

House Speaker Boehner has rebuffed President Obama's Classless Attempt to upstage the next GOP Presidential Primary debate by giving an address to Congress at the same time.

From National Journal:
House Speaker John Boehner, R-Ohio, is rebuffing President Obama’s request to appear before a Joint Session of Congress on Sept. 7, instead “respectfully” inviting him to address a Joint Session on Sept. 8. Boehner cites logistical and security concerns.

Paid Leave For Intoxicated D.C. Officer Who Crashed His Car Into and Shot At Car Full of Transgendered People

This is what happens when police and other public employees are allowed to form unions. This is a little talked about union secret. Unions aren't for good employees. Good employees don't need unions. Unions mainly create systems to protect bad employees from termination and guarantee they get the same pay and opportunities as the good employees. Police brass previously placed this officer on paid administrative leave for getting in a drunken argument while on duty. He should have been fired then. Also, no one on administrative leave for disciplinary reasons should be paid, unless they are exonerated at a later date.
(Washington Examiner)- Police said Furr, a 20-year-veteran, blew a 0.15 on an alcohol breath-test machine after the shooting -- nearly twice the legal limit for drivers in D.C.

He remains held on charges of DWI and assault with a deadly weapon. His first court appearance is scheduled for Tuesday, and he has been segregated from the other prisoners.

Furr's attorney said he could not comment about the case or Officer Furr, who police say is on paid leave.
According to charging documents, Furr got into an argument with several transgendered people outside the CVS pharmacy at 400 Massachusetts Avenue at about 4:40 a.m. Friday. He pulled a gun on one of the victims, who then reported the incident to an off-duty D.C. police officer working security at the pharmacy, charging documents said.

The CVS officer determined that Furr was an "off-duty officer, and therefore no further action was necessary," the charging document said.

The victims later saw Furr driving his Cadillac and followed him in their car, police said.
Furr got out of his vehicle, pointed the gun at the driver. The sequence of the events that followed is unclear is unclear. Patrol officers nearby said they heard the cars crash and then rapid gunfire. The victims said Furr fired first and then the cars struck. Read more here.

Shocker: Al Sharpton Uses His New MSNBC Program For Race-Baiting

Looking at Al Sharpton's history, race-baiting is all he has ever had to offer. MSNBC must have known this when they gave him his own program.
(Breitbart) — Using his now familiar bumbling, bewildering and bombastic delivery, Al Sharpton premiered his brand new show on MSNBC, “Politics Nation” with an attack on the GOP presidential candidates saying they want to bring the country back to pre-1960’s segregationist times. He also promised that this was what his show was going to be about.
Considering Mr. Sharpton’s entire career up to this point has been defined by making loud accusations of racism through a bullhorn, we should not be surprised that this will be the content of his NBC News program. Lean Forward, indeed.

Nanny State of California Makes More Nanny Rules

Under a bill that is breezing through California's House and Senate, Californians will have to hire two babysitters, not one, if they want a night out. The second babysitter will be there to give a break to the first one every tho hours. Oh, and the both get worker's compensation.
How will parents react when they find out they will be expected to provide workers’ compensation benefits, rest and meal breaks and paid vacation time for…babysitters? Dinner and a movie night may soon become much more complicated.

Assembly Bill 889 (authored by Assemblyman Tom Ammiano, D-San Francisco, will require these protections for all “domestic employees,” including nannies, housekeepers and caregivers.

The bill has already passed the Assembly and is quickly moving through the Senate with blanket support from the Democrat members that control both houses of the Legislature – and without the support of a single Republican member. Assuming the bill will easily clear its last couple of legislative hurdles, AB 889 will soon be on its way to the Governor’s desk.

Under AB 889, household “employers” (aka “parents”) who hire a babysitter on a Friday night will be legally obligated to pay at least minimum wage to any sitter over the age of 18 (unless it is a family member), provide a substitute caregiver every two hours to cover rest and meal breaks, in addition to workers’ compensation coverage, overtime pay, and a meticulously calculated timecard/paycheck.

70% of Americans Muslims View President Obama Favorably

Can we stop calling him the first black President and start calling him the first Muslim President now?
A majority of U.S. Muslims are content with the nation's direction in contrast to many Americans and few Muslims believe there is support for Islamic extremism here, a survey released on Tuesday found.

With the 10th anniversary of the al Qaeda attacks on New York and the Pentagon approaching, the Pew Research Center found that most Muslims felt ordinary Americans were friendly or neutral toward them.

In contrast to the majority of the general public dissatisfied with the nation's direction, 56 percent of the estimated 2.75 million American Muslims said they are satisfied, the survey showed. Seven out of 10 view President Barack Obama's tenure favourably.

"On a variety of measures, Muslims in America are very content with their own lives and with the communities where they live," Pew researcher Greg Smith said in an interview.

Obama wants to ban discrimination against the unemployed or something

President Obama is concerned employers are discriminating against the unemployed. This is ridiculous. Many employers will hare an unemployed candidate preferentially to an employed candidate if other things are near equal. Of course, employers have to wonder why some people collect unemployment for up to two years when they have the skills and local job market to support finding a job sooner. Let's face it. In our current entitlement society, there are some people who will suck on the government's teat as long as they can. That's why extending unemployment benefits is wrong for most areas of the country. Unemployment is 9.5% in my state, but most people can still find a job within a month if they aggressively search. They often do have to take a pay cut, but honest work is better than government unemployment welfare and food stamps any-day.
(Huffington Post) — President Obama said during a Tuesday radio show that hiring discrimination against the jobless “makes absolutely no sense” and that he supports legislation to ban the practice.

Sybil Wilkes, a co-host of the “Tom Joyner Morning Show,” asked the president about long-term unemployment and businesses that tell applicants, “If you’re unemployed, we don’t want to hear from you.”

Obama noted that the long-term unemployed have a tougher time landing jobs and said a stronger overall economy would make employers less choosy. “But we have seen instances in which employers are explicitly saying we don’t want to take a look at folks who’ve been unemployed,” the president said.

Payback: GOP Banned From Labor Day Parade in Wisconsin

This is a constantly evolving story. It was originally reported as follows:
Organizers of Wausau's Labor Day parade say Republican lawmakers aren't welcome in this year's event.

The Marathon County Central Labor Council sponsors the September 5th parade. The council includes about 30 local unions from the Marathon County area.
Then, the Mayor claims the event must be non-partisan because the city pays part of the costs.(emphasis is mine)
August 29, 2011- The City is a co-sponsor of the Labor Day parade event, because we provided the payment for the insurance premium for the event, and we agreed to erect a stage and provide city services at no cost to the Marathon County Central Labor Council.

The banning of a political party from participation at any event co-sponsored by the City is against public policy and not in the best interest of all the citizens of the City of Wausau. And therefore, we encourage the event organizer to invite all interested parties, or reimburse the city for other costs.

Obama Thumbs His Nose At Veterans

VFW : Our First Century

For the first time ever, the President will not speak at the VFW convention or send a top their replacement. President Obama must realize he has already lost the military vote.
(Fox News) — The Veterans of Foreign Wars convention this week will not feature a top-tier official from the Obama administration, a breach in tradition that the group’s commander described as an “insult of the highest magnitude.”

However, an administration official claimed Monday that the White House made “every effort” to provide a speaker for the event, offering up a range of top officials.

“In all instances, the VFW declined those offers,” the official said.

The veterans group is accustomed to playing host to the nation’s most powerful people at its national conference. Obama addressed the VFW in 2009, followed by Vice President Biden in 2010.

But the 2-million strong VFW accused the administration of snubbing its members by not providing a “first-tier speaker” for the first time in VFW history.

“The VFW has had a long-standing tradition of inviting the sitting president to address our convention,” Richard Eubank, national commander of the organization, said in a statement, adding that the White House typically chooses a “high-level administration official” to speak if the president cannot attend.

White House Silent On Obama's Illegal Uncle's Drunk Driving Arrest

What? No beer summit with his long lost uncle?
The White House also did not respond to a request for comment.

Zeituni and Obama Onyango are brother and sister, Rogers told the Herald today.

The two are the children of the president’s grandfather, Hussein Onyango Obama, and his third wife, Sarah, according to the London Times.

The Times also reported that Obama Onyango is the man referred to as “Uncle Omar” in the president’s 1995 book, “Dreams from My Father.” In the book, President Obama writes about his Uncle Omar as “the uncle who had left for America 25 years ago and had never come back.

Democratic strategist about Obama's re-election chances: "“If the election were next Tuesday he’d lose. "

President Obama will be judged mainly on economic performance. There is little chance of any significant improvement in the employment numbers or housing market in the next year. Obama will need an economic miracle to survive.
(The Hill) — President Obama arrived back in Washington after his August vacation to deal with a hurricane, but Irene was only the first of many tests awaiting the embattled commander-in-chief.

With his approval ratings at the lowest point in his presidency, Obama returns to face a restless Congress, a hurricane that tore up the East Coast, continued unrest and uncertainty in the Middle East and an ailing economy that is not expected to improve much before the 2012 elections.

“If the election were next Tuesday he’d lose. That’s how bad it is,” says a Democratic strategist.

Rasmussen: 57% still want to repeal Obamacare

Why ObamaCare is Wrong for America: How the New Health Care Law Drives Up Costs, Puts Government in Charge of Your Decisions, and Threatens Your Constitutional Rights

Ramming Obamacare down Americans throats is going to come back and haunt President Obama and Democrats in 2012.
The number of voters who Strongly Favor repeal of the national health care law ties the highest level reached in several months, as most continue to believe the law will push up health care costs and the federal deficit.

The latest Rasmussen Reports national telephone survey of Likely U.S. Voters shows that 57% at least somewhat favor repeal of the health care law, including 46% who Strongly Favor repeal. Thirty-seven percent (37%) at least somewhat oppose repeal, with 25% who are Strongly Opposed. (To see survey question wording, click here.)

Shock Poll: 27% of Democrats Want to Dump Obama

More power to them.
(Beltway Confidential) — A new poll by CNN and ORC International finds that 27 percent of Democrats would like to see their party nominate a candidate other than Barack Obama for president in 2012.

In response to the question, “Do you think the Democratic party should renominate Barack Obama as the party’s candidate for president in 2012, or do you think the Democratic party should nominate a different candidate for president in 2012?” — 72 percent said they wanted to see Obama renominated. But 27 percent, slightly more than one in every four, said they wanted to see Democrats nominate a different candidate. One percent had no opinion.

The poll was taken August 24–25... Read more here.

Hypocrisy: Warren Buffet says People Like Him Should Pay More Taxes, But Owes Back Taxes

The Snowball: Warren Buffett and the Business of Life

The hypocrisy of Obama supporters id mind-blowing.
(NYP) — This one’s truly, uh. . . rich: Billionaire Warren Buffett says folks like him should have to pay more taxes — but it turns out his firm, Berkshire Hathaway, hasn’t paid what it’s already owed for years.
That’s right: As Americans for Limited Government President Bill Wilson notes, the company openly admits that it owes back taxes since as long ago as 2002.

“We anticipate that we will resolve all adjustments proposed by the US Internal Revenue Service (“IRS”) for the 2002 through 2004 tax years. . . within the next 12 months,” the firm’s annual report says.
It also cites outstanding tax issues for 2005 through 2009.

Obvious question: If Buffett really thinks he and his “mega-rich friends” should pay higher taxes, why doesn’t his firm fork over what it already owes under current rates?

Likely answer: He cares more about shilling for President Obama — who’s practically made socking “millionaires and billionaires” his re-election theme song — than about kicking in more himself.

Climate Change is Making People Mentally Ill or Something

Everything from hurricanes to war has been blamed on anthropogenic global warming. Why not mental illness? I am beginning to believe the AGW true believers are suffering from some sort of mental illness.
(Sydney Morning Herald) — RATES of mental illnesses including depression and post-traumatic stress will increase as a result of climate change, a report to be released today says.

The paper, prepared for the Climate Institute, says loss of social cohesion in the wake of severe weather events related to climate change could be linked to increased rates of anxiety, depression, post-traumatic stress and substance abuse.

As many as one in five people reported ”emotional injury, stress and despair” in the wake of these events.
The report, A Climate of Suffering: The Real Cost of Living with Inaction on Climate Change, called the past 15 years a ”preview of life under unrestrained global warming”.

Rick Perry in Iowa: First Act Would Be "Sign Executive Order That Wipes Out Obamacare"

I man not sure an executive order could completely wipe out Obamacare, but I like the way he thinks. The comment is at the 8:45 mark of the video, but if you aren't familiar with Rick Perry, watch it all. He is very good on the stump.
Perry said, if elected, his first act on the first day in office will be to “sign an Executive Order that wipes out this President’s misguided, one-size fits-all Health Care plan called ObamaCare.”

Obama's Shocking 2 Month Job Approval Meltdown (Via Gallop Polling)

Poor economic news, the debt ceiling debacle, the credit downgrade and subsequent stock market retreat have taken a heavy toll On Americans opinion of how President Obama is doing his job. Priceless: Obama's illegal uncle arrested; Tries to call White House

'Uncle Omar' was arrested for DUI after he hit a cop car. Thre is also a federal Immigration and Customs Enforcement warrant for his arrest. I wonder if he will get off like President Obama's Aunt Zeituni Onyango.
The Washington Times reported-
A number of media outlets have already reported that an illegal immigrant from Kenya by the name of Onyango Obama, 67, was arrested last week on Wednesday after he rammed his SUV into a police car in Framingham, Massachusetts.

He was later charged with DUI among other violations. I spoke to Framingham Public Information Officer Lieutenant Delaney who told me that when Onyango Obama was asked at booking if he wanted to make a telephone call to arrange for bail, the Kenyan immigrant replied: "I think I will call the White House."

It should be noted that the Times of London, highlighted an Onyango Obama during the 2008 presidential campaign, when the British daily found President Barack Obama's “Aunt Zeituni” living in Boston illegally.:

More Carbon Market Fraud?

Romania has blocked from selling carbon credits by the Kyoto Protocol committee. There have been "irregularities" in the country's carbon emissions data.
AFP - The Kyoto Protocol committee has blocked Romania from selling carbon credits over concerns about irregularities in the country's carbon emissions data, Romania's environment ministry said Sunday.

In December, Romanian Environment Minister Laszlo Borbely said the country hoped to earn some 1.5 billion euros ($2.2 billion) from selling carbon offsets.

But the committee that monitors Kyoto Protocol compliance decided to suspend Romania from the programme due to "irregularities observed" in Bucharest's 2010 greenhouse gas emissions data, the environment ministry statement said.

The suspension has immediate affect, and Bucharest must put in place an "adequate" system for monitoring emissions before it can resume selling carbon offsets, the ministry explained.

Bachmann Takes “Radical Environmentalists” to the Woodshed

Rep. Michele Bachmann has a point. If you consider all sources, the U.S does have more energy reserves than Saudi Arabia. Some require technology improvements, but many have been locked away by overzealous environmental policies.
(The Blaze/AP) — Republican presidential candidate Michele Bachmann claimed Saturday that the United States has more fuel resources than any other country, but blamed what she termed “radical environmentalists” for bottling up American energy policy. . . .

“The United States is the number one country in the world for energy resources,” the Minnesota congresswoman told a central Florida town hall meeting, arguing that in shale deposits alone the U.S. easily outstrips the total oil supply of Saudi Arabia. “That doesn’t even include. . . all the oil in Alaska.”

But Bachmann said environmentalists were preventing resources from being exploited, leaving the U.S. dependent on energy imports....
“The radical environmentalists have demanded that we lock up all our energy resources,” she added. “President Bachmann will take that key out of the door. I will unlock it.”

Rick Perry on Social Security: “It is a Ponzi scheme for these young people"

Fed Up!: Our Fight to Save America from Washington

Texas Gov. Rick Perry isn't backing down from his claim Social Security is a Ponzi scheme. He first made the claim in his book “Fed Up!”.
OTTUMWA, Iowa —... Asked by a woman in the crowd about Social Security being viewed as an entitlement program, Perry reiterated the suggestion in his anti-Washington book “Fed Up!” that the program amounts to a Ponzi scheme.
“It is a Ponzi scheme for these young people The idea that they’re working and paying into Social Security today (and) the current program is going to be there for them is a lie,” Perry said. “It is a monstrous lie on this generation, and we can’t do that to them.”

Later, in Des Moines, when a reporter asked about the suggestion his campaign was backing off some positions in the staunch states-rights book, Perry said, “I haven’t backed off anything in my book. So read the book again and get it right.”
Is Gov. perry correct? Here is the definition of a Ponzi scheme from the Securities and Exchange Commission.

What is a Ponzi scheme?

A Ponzi scheme is an investment fraud that involves the payment of purported returns to existing investors from funds contributed by new investors. Ponzi scheme organizers often solicit new investors by promising to invest funds in opportunities claimed to generate high returns with little or no risk. In many Ponzi schemes, the fraudsters focus on attracting new money to make promised payments to earlier-stage investors and to use for personal expenses, instead of engaging in any legitimate investment activity.

Why can't President Obama bring down unemployment?

President Obama's mistakes have been numerous, but I will focus on what I believe to be the three biggest in this post.
1. The Stimulus has mostly been a failure. President Obama and Democrats passed a bill that was mainly aimed at rewarding unions, environmentalists and other Democratic constituencies. It was poorly aimed a real long-term job creation. The cost of each Stimulus job, by a basic calculation method, was over $200k per job. Supporters counter that we purchased a lot of badly needed infrastructure, but infrastructure is not jobs. Many of the Stimulus jobs, such as construction and research projects, were temporary jobs. They ended when the projects were completed or the money ran out. The Stimulus was passed with almost no Republican votes. Failing to work with Republicans on a spending bill of this size turned a heated political rivalry into a bitter feud.

2. The poorly named Affordable Care Act (Obamacare) was passed without any Republican support. Passing a gargantuan spending bill that re-aligned a significant portion of the U.S. economy and impacted virtually every American on a purely partisan basis was a huge mistake. This turned an already bitter rivalry into an all-out blood feud. Not only did President Obama alienate and anger the opposition party, he also used up his political capitol with moderate Democrats.  In order to do a 'real' jobs bill or serious reform of entitlement spending and tax structure, President Obama and Democrats need Republican and moderate Democrat support. As you can see from the recent debt ceiling debacle, that isn't likely to happen anytime in the near future.

3. President Obama has created an anti-business climate perfect storm. President Obama has vilified business and practically called some of them evil. His administration and a democratically controlled Congress have piled on new regulations, mandates and rules. These include, but are not limited to, Dodd-Frank bill for financial regulation, Obamacare for health insurance, new oil drilling restrictions and EPA regulation of CO2 emissions. Additionally, President Obama has stacked the labor Board with virulent anti-business unionists. To top this off, President Obama has many times declared his desire to increase taxes on business and small business owners. What businessman in his right mind would take any serious risk of capital to expand and create jobs in this kind of environment? The only expansion taking place now is where it is a slam-dunk financially.

I Could mention President Obama's escalation of the deficit by over $4 trillion and his promise to dramatically raise energy costs (which seems to be in progress), but that would be superfluous at this point.

Do you really want to pay huge pension benefits for these losers? This is really shameful.

Police and firefighters in San Francisco watch man drown in bay and refuse to rescue or even try to recover the body. They blame budget cuts and lack of cold-water training. A bystander had to wade into the water and retrieve the victims body.
On Memorial Day, a suicidal man waded into San Francisco Bay outside the city of Alameda and stood there for about an hour, neck-deep in chilly water, as about 75 bystanders watched. Local police and firefighters were called to the scene, but they refused to help. After the man drowned, the assembled “first responders” also refused to wade into the water to retrieve his body; they left that job for a bystander.

The incident sparked widespread outrage in northern California, and the response by the fire department and police only intensified the anger. The firefighters blamed local budget cuts for denying them the training and equipment necessary for cold-water rescues. The police said that they didn’t know if the man was dangerous and therefore couldn’t risk the safety of their officers. After a local TV news crew asked him whether he would save a drowning child in the bay, Alameda fire chief Ricci Zombeck gave an answer that made him the butt of local talk-show mockery: “Well, if I was off duty, I would know what I would do, but I think you’re asking me my on-duty response, and I would have to stay within our policies and procedures, because that’s what’s required by our department to do.”

Al Gore Bashes Idea Climate Change is All About the Money

Al Gore is vehemently denying climate scientists manipulate data to keep the money flowing.

The Hill reported:
Al Gore on Friday bashed the notion that climate scientists are manipulating data for financial gain, a charge levied by global warming skeptics, including GOP White House hopeful Rick Perry.
“This is an organized effort to attack the reputation of the scientific community as a whole, to attack their integrity, and to slander them with the lie that they are making up the science in order to make money,” Gore said in an online interview.

“These scientists don’t make a lot of money. They are comfortable, as they should be, but they don’t make a lot of money. That is not their motivation for doing what they do,” Gore added.
Al Gore forgets to mention the fortune he has made peddling the anthropogenic global warming scam. Penn State Professor Michael Mann, author of the infamous 'hockey stick' graph and implicated in 'Climategate' for 'hiding the decline' got a half a million in Stimulus dollars while he was under investigation by his own university. Of course, they exonerated him. To have done otherwise would have cut off the money.

The National Center for Public Research reported:

In the face of rising unemployment and record-breaking deficits, policy experts at the National Center for Public Policy Research are criticizing the Obama Administration for awarding a half million dollar grant from the economic stimulus package to Penn State Professor Michael Mann, a key figure in the Climategate controversy.

“It’s outrageous that economic stimulus money is being used to support research conducted by Michael Mann at the very time he’s under investigation by Penn State and is one of the key figures in the international Climategate scandal. Penn State should immediately return these funds to the U.S. Treasury,” said Tom Borelli, Ph.D., director of the National Center’s Free Enterprise Project.

New Poll: FOX News is Both the Most Trusted and Least Trusted News Source

FOX News far outpaced CNN as the most trusted news source with 38.8%. CNN came in at 11.1%. 52.2 percent of Democrats think FOX News is the least trustworthy.
(WND)- A new poll shows that the national network or news channel that Americans trust the most is Fox News Channel, with 37.8 percent of all respondents in the poll picking Fox out of a list of nine possible options.

Far back in second place, with 11.1 percent of the respondents, was CNN, while ABC and NBC were tied at 10.8 percent apiece and CBS holding at 10.4 percent.

But the most untrusted source – as revealed in the same poll, was a surprise – Fox News Channel.

Woman goes on epic anti-capitalist and anti-American rant

This woman obviously hates capitalism, America and religion. She claims she would move to Africa if she could because people should have free water, land, rent and electricity. Then, she informs us Africans had electricity in ancient times. I vote we start collecting airfare money as quickly as possible. Any one want to try guess who she voted for in 2008? She sounds like a picture perfect Obama voter to me. Looking at her other videos, she hates the Tea Party and thinks they are the new KKK. As you might guess, Sarah Palin isn't her favorite either. Severe language warning in the video. This woman is a real potty mouth.

Rasmussen: 51% of voters give Obama poor marks on the economy

The other 49% must be rich or on public assistance.
(Rasmussen) — The economy remains the top issue on the minds of voters while perceptions of President Obama’s handling of the issue has fallen to a new low.

A new Rasmussen Reports national telephone survey finds that just 29% of Likely U.S. Voters believe the president is doing a good or an excellent job on the economy. That’s down from 30% in each of the last two weeks, down from 36% three weeks ago and the lowest ratings on the economy yet recorded for this president.

Fifty-one percent (51%) give Obama poor marks on the economy. That’s up a point from a week ago and the most pessimistic assessment of his economic performance to date. Platinum Members receive weekly updates on this and other measures of the president’s performance.

As Obama Touts Reducing Burden of Regulation, His Labor Department Issues New Goat Herding Worker Rules!

On a White House Blog post Tuesday, President Obama touted regulatory reform as a great accomplishment of his administration this year.
Today, we are announcing that agencies are releasing their final regulatory reform plans, including hundreds of initiatives that will reduce costs, simplify the system, and eliminate redundancy and inconsistency.

As the plans demonstrate, a great deal has been achieved in a short time. Significant burden-reducing rules have been finalized or publicly proposed from the Department of Labor, the Environmental Protection Agency, and the Department of Transportation. These rules are expected to save more than $4 billion over the next five years.
I have no idea how many people these regulations affect, but Team Obama must think abuse of foreign workers herding goats is one of our bigger problems.
The Obama administration is setting new workplace regulations to assist foreign workers who fill goat herding positions in the U.S. , including employee-paid cell phones and comfy beds.

These new special procedures issued by the Labor Department must be followed by employers who want to hire temporary agricultural foreign workers to perform sheep herding or goat herding activities.  It describes strict rules for sleeping quarters, lighting, food storage, bathing, laundry, cooking and new rules for the counters where food is prepared.

“A separate sleeping unit shall be provided for each person, except in a family arrangement,” says the rules signed by Jane Oates, assistant secretary for employment and training administration at the Labor Department.

“Such a unit shall include a comfortable bed, cot or bunk, with a clean mattress,” the rules state.

Demo Rep. John Yarmuth (D-Ky.): Obama Promising Jobs With Stimulus Bill Was “Stupidest Thing"

Yarmuth thinks it was stupid because Obama gave a trackable goal. Democrats never want to do that because lack of trackable goals allows them claim their programs worked. Without goals, it is difficult to prove them wrong. Data does not lie.

Chart from House Speaker Boehner.

(The Hill) — Rep. John Yarmuth (D-Ky.) slammed President Obama’s promise that the stimulus package would deliver lower unemployment rates as “the stupidest thing that basically any administration probably ever said” in an interview Wednesday with WFPL News.

“I think if you asked them now they will say that was the stupidest thing that basically any administration probably ever said because that’s not something they can necessarily control,” Yarmuth said.

Yarmuth said that while the stimulus plan has worked, the president has been unable to market that success.

Vice President Biden’s former chief of staff cites hurricanes and tornadoes as proof of global warming

Ron Klain, Vice President Biden’s former chief of staff criticized Rick Perry's claim that CO2 induced global warming isn't proven. He basically accused him of listening to 'bought' scientists.
WASHINGTON — Ron Klain, Vice President Biden’s former chief of staff, went to bat for the Obama administration Thursday afternoon as he swatted away suggestions from Rick Perry and Mitt Romney that global warming isn’t caused by people.
“They’re playing to their base,” Klain said on MSNBC. “It’s primary politics.”
In defense of global warming being a man-made problem, Klain cited “hurricanes” and “a record year for tornadoes,” also claiming that Republicans are citing information from “scientists and researchers sponsored by the oil industry.”
Lets fact check Klain's claim global warming is affecting hurricane activity. The chart below is from NOAA. The green hatched part of the bars indicate the number of hurricanes by year. The red part of the bars indicate category 3 or higher hurricanes. The yellow indicates named storm systems. As you can clearly see, the recent higher temperatures do not correlate to more or stronger hurricanes. The most occurred in the 1930's. The strongest in the 1950's.

Here is a chart from NOAA depicting the number of tornadoes by month from 1950 to 2010. Dark red indicates the largest number of tornadoes per month. Dark blue indicates the fewest. The early 1970's and early 1990's were the worst time periods for tornadoes.

Guess what media giant's employees are top Obama donors!

If you guessed MSNBC's parent company Comcast, you are correct.
(ABC News)Employees of media giant Comcast have contributed more money to President Obama’s reelection bid than employees from any other organization, according to a new analysis of Federal Election Commission data by the Center for Responsive Politics.

Comcast employees contributed nearly $80,000 directly to Obama for America and roughly $200,000 to the Obama Victory Fund, a joint account benefitting both the Obama campaign and Democratic National Committee, through the first half of 2011 records show.

Comcast, the nation’s largest video and internet services provider, is the parent company of NBCUniversal, which owns broadcast networks NBC and Telemundo among other assets.

President Obama has recently spent time with top Comcast executives, attending an intimate fundraiser at the home of Comcast executive vice president David Cohen in Philadelphia in June and a private “social reception” at the Martha’s Vineyard estate of Comcast CEO Brian Roberts earlier this week.

Golfer-in-Chief Plays 80th Golf Game Since Taking Office

Stimulating the economy at clubhouses across America...
VINEYARD HAVEN, Mass. (AP) — President Barack Obama has once again hit the golf trifecta as he vacations on Martha’s Vineyard.

He spent more than two hours at Mink Meadows Golf Club on Tuesday, a semi-private, nine-hole club on the island’s north shore. It was Obama’s fourth outing since he arrived last week for a 10-day vacation. His golf partners included his friend Eric Whitaker and White House chef Sam Kass.

Obama has now played all three island courses — just as he did during family vacations in his first two years as president.

Romney Becomes a Little More Skeptical on Anthropogenic Global Warming

The problem is nobody is going to believe him. This shift in position is likely due to Texas Gov. Rick perry entering the GOP 2012 race. Perry has come down very clearly in the AGW skeptic camp.
(Politico) — Hours after being called “mushy on environmental issues” by a Republican senator, Mitt Romney has tweaked his position on global warming.

Asked Wednesday at a Lebanon, N.H., town hall meeting whether he believed in global warming and if humans contribute to rising temperatures, Romney said he doesn’t know.

“Do I think the world’s getting hotter? Yeah, I don’t know that but I think that it is,” Romney said, as reported by Reuters. “I don’t know if it’s mostly caused by humans.”

“What I’m not willing to do is spend trillions of dollars on something I don’t know the answer to,” he added.
Just two and a half months ago in New Hampshire, Romney expressed concern about climate change and greenhouse gas emissions.

Obama walks back promise of specific plan to boost jobs

Remember President Obama's promise to put forth a specific plan to boost the economy and create jobs? The devil is always in the details, isn't it? Anyone can make flowery speeches full of promises. Unfortunately, Obama is an empty suit who can not deliver.
(USA Today)President Obama’s post-Labor Day policy speech on job creation will include “some reasonable ideas that can have a tangible impact,” his spokesman says.
Those ideas and others are being considered by the President’s Council on Jobs and Competitiveness, whose leaders — General Electric CEO Jeffrey Immelt and American Express CEO Kenneth Chenault — spoke by phone with the president Wednesday.
“There will be some ideas that the president will lay out in this speech . . . new ideas,” Earnest said. At the same time, he said, Obama is not “backing away” from proposals he has pushed in the past, such as a public-private infrastructure bank to jump-start highway projects, and free trade agreements with South Korea, Colombia and Panama.
The spokesman said Obama is constantly “dismayed” by Republicans’ charges that his economic proposals are intended for political consumption.

The Great Global Warming Blunder: How Mother Nature Fooled the World's Top Climate Scientists

This time war is being blamed on global warming.
(HuffPo) — At the outset of his new book, “Tropic of Chaos” author Christian Parenti suggests that the violent death of Kenyan farmer Ekaru Loruman — and perhaps thousands of people like him living in the global south — arose not just from the proximate cause of a bullet in the head, delivered by a rival tribe amid a conflict over resources, but also from a toxic cocktail of poverty, Cold War militarization and climate.

He calls it a “catastrophic convergence,” in which large numbers of unemployed young men with ready access to weapons represent a tinderbox into which the match of global warming is thrown.

“You’ve already got a very volatile situation in these countries,” Parenti said in an interview. Throw on top of that that crop failures, disruptions in fishing — and even increases in grain prices and other vacillations in global trade — and the economic shock of global climate change in the developing world, he suggests, can prove explosive.

It’s not an entirely new idea, and numerous books and studies have sought to explore the complex connections between the environment and social friction. But the need to do so has gained increased currency — and urgency — not least because many climate scientists believe that the cyclical climate patterns driving weather in many of the world’s less developed regions will become more frequent and more intense as average global temperatures rise. Fail: DOE Spent Stimulus Money to Study Climate Change in Maldives, India and Australia.

Scanning ARM Cloud Radar in Darwin

The Stimulus bill was sold as a job creator. Actually it was a payback for Obama's supporters and their pet projects. It was poorly aimed at job creation.Of course, any honest observer knows the Stimulus failed at job creation.
(CNSNews.com) – The U.S. Department of Energy (DOE) announced last week that it has used $60 million of the $1.2 billion given to the agency in economic stimulus funds for purchasing “advanced-technology research instruments” to study climate change.

Some of this equipment was deployed at facilities in the Maldives, India and Australia.

The DOE’s Atmospheric Radiation Measurement, or ARM program, was launched more than two decades ago as a way to improve scientific models for climate research and weather prediction. In a statement released on Aug. 18 on the Recovery.gov Web site – the site tracking the $821-billion American Recovery and Reinvestment Act of 2009 – ARM is described by the Obama administration as a program focused on climate change.

Perry Leads Romney Nationally By Double-Digits

This lead by Perry isn't surprising. Very few Republicans are excited about the possibility of a President Romney. GOP voters can not forgive him for RomneyCare.
(Newsmax) — A new poll shows Texas Gov. Rick Perry with a double-digit lead nationally over the current 2012 frontrunner, former Massachusetts Gov. Mitt Romney.

The poll, which will be released Wednesday by Public Policy Polling (PPP), is not being detailed in advance, the New York Post reported. But PPP’s Director Tom Jensen confirmed Perry’s double-digit advantage to the Post.

It will be the second poll of Republican primary voters by the Democratically-aligned polling company to show Perry with a lead nationally since the three-term Texas governor entered the contest.

It is nice to know not all the resident of Martha’s Vineyard fawn over Obama like these moonbats did.

Moonbat Alert: Demo Rep. Dennis Kucinich Thinks NATO Commanders Should Be Taken To International Court For Bombing Libya

How does this moron keep getting reelected?
(Politico) — NATO commanders who authorized the Libya bombing campaign should be “held accountable” to international law and hauled before the world court for civilian deaths, Rep. Dennis Kucinich (D-Ohio) said Tuesday.

“NATO’s top commanders may have acted under color of international law, but they are not exempt from international law,” Kucinich said in a statement released by his office. “If members of the Qadhafi regime are to be held accountable, NATO’s top commanders must also be held accountable through the International Criminal Court for all civilian deaths resulting from bombing. Otherwise, we will have witnessed the triumph of a new international gangsterism.”

Feel Good Story: Afghan Villagers Stone Taliban Commander To Death

Is the tide beginning to turn in Afghanistan?
KABUL, Afghanistan (NYT) — Angry villagers stoned to death a local Taliban commander and his bodyguard in southern Afghanistan Sunday after the militants killed a 60-year-old man accused of aiding the government, Afghan officials said.

It was a rare reversal of brutality aimed at the Taliban and, some Afghan officials believe, suggests a growing sense of security in an area where the insurgency has lost ground to NATO forces in the last two years. The stoning happened in the Nawa District of Helmand Province, a verdant agricultural area along the Helmand River Valley, now considered one of the safest places in the volatile south as a result of a heavy influx of American troops and aid dollars.

“People won’t tolerate the Taliban’s barbaric actions anymore,” said Dawoud Ahmadi, a spokesman for the governor of Helmand Province. “They will stand against them whenever they are harmed.”
