Shocker: NYT Apologizes for Calling Tea Party Terrorists

NYT Op-Ed Columnist, Joe Nocera, has apologized for calling The Tea Party terrorists. If the New York Times management would do the right thing, they would fire his butt.
The Tea Party, Take Two NYT Op-Ed Columnist, Joe Nocera
. . .That anger reached its apex on Tuesday, when I wrote a column comparing the Tea Party Republicans to terrorists. The words I chose were intemperate and offensive to many, and I’ve been roundly criticized. I was a hypocrite, the critics said, for using such language when on other occasions I’ve called for a more civil politics. In the cool light of day, I agree with them. I apologize.
I still think it was terribly wrong for the Republicans to use the threat of default to insist on massive spending cuts, though President Obama also deserves blame for playing his hand so poorly. Putting on my pragmatist hat again, I also think Congress could not have chosen a worse time to rein in spending. Yes, the country’s enormous debt — and the entitlement programs that are driving the federal deficit — needs to be brought under control. . . .
Undoubtedly, I’ll write columns about those negotiations. But I won’t be calling anybody names. That I can promise.

  1. Excuse me, but I believe it was your employer the president who was calling for defaults: he was going to default on the military and the elderly paychecks!!! You need to stop writing crap and start writing TRUTH!!! Obama and his minions had no idea what ot put on the table, they ahd no plans, nothing!!!! What the republicans and the tea party did was challenge his 'intelligence' and it scared him. We know he knows not what he is doing and that too scares him...he is out to destroy this country and you know it. Everything he has done is line with taking down an economy and its country. for you to say otherwise is intellectually dishonest, so too is not writing about it...get some balls man and start writing the truth instead of what this white house wants you to write...

  2. I am a conservative and was very offended by the 'terrorist' label, because nothing could be further from the truth. I accept your apology. I can only hope that the name calling will stop altogether. It's childish, hurtful and accomplishes nothing. As for congress and the president, I think they are all in way over their heads (all of them) and maybe it's time for people with some common sense to come in and clean up this mess.

  3. Hey All,

All you have to do is research and you will find out that it is the LEFT using terrorist tactics.

SOMEONE, ANYONE give me a couple examples of where things got out of control at a TEA Party rally.

I can give you ONE of many examples of how the left "rallies".

Just look at what happened in Wisconsin last year.

    Case closed.

  4. Good luck convincing the NYT to write "the truth"-- their top priority is writing whatever smears those they simply don't like-- since the Tea Party is practically non-existent in their neck of the woods (Manhattan NYC), they simply do not like what they cannot understand-- and they simply do not understand
ANYTHING that goes against the way things are run in their neck of the woods (Manhattan, NYC).

  5. The NYT is a liberal tabloid. I am looking forward to the day that they finally go out of business.
