Former U.N. Ambassador John Bolton Endorses Mitt Romeny

Former U.N. Ambassador John Bolton is a favorite with many conservatives. This may help Romney gain his conservative mojo.
(Politico) — John Bolton, the hawkish former ambassador to the United Nations under George W. Bush, endorsed Mitt Romney Wednesday night.

“I think Gov. Romney is the person who can best lead the party, best articulate our conservative principles and is most likely to beat Barack Obama,” Bolton told Greta Van Susteren on Fox News.
Bolton had talked about a presidential bid of his own last year, but announced in September that he would not run.

Once it was clear Bolton would not pursue a presidential run of his own, he had been heavily courted by several GOP hopefuls, including Rick Perry and Newt Gingrich. Gingrich even worked a promise to appoint Bolton as his Secretary of State into some versions of his stump speech.
