Five States in Worst Financial Condition are Blue States

Forbes magazine has analyzed the financial condition of states and found the five in the worst condition and eight of the ten in the worst condition are blue states. Why? The answer is unions and social programs.

The Washington Examiner reported:
Forbes magazine has completed a comprehensive look at "The Global Debt Bomb" and in the course of compiling the results found this very interesting tidbit:

"The five states in the worst financial condition--Illinois, New York, Connecticut, California and New Jersey--are all among the bluest of blue states. The five most fiscally fit states are more of a mix. Three--Utah, Nebraska and Texas--boast Republican majorities and two--New Hampshire and Virginia--skew Democratic."

Nancy Pelosi: "A bill can be bipartisan without bipartisan votes"

House Speaker Nancy Pelosi (D-Calif.) said Sunday, "A bill can be bipartisan without bipartisan votes." That has to be the most asinine statement ever from a Speaker of the House.

From The Hill:
House Speaker Nancy Pelosi (D-Calif.) said Sunday that Republicans have left their mark on the healthcare bill and should accept that the bill will go forward.

"They've had plenty of opportunity to make their voices heard," she said on CNN's "State of the Union" Sunday morning. "Bipartisanship is a two-way street. A bill can be bipartisan without bipartisan votes. Republicans have left their imprint."

The only thing related to 'Obamacare' with a 'mark' on it is the butts of the hapless 'Blue Dog' Democrats Nancy Pelosi kicked into voting for this monstrosity the first time through.

Paul Krugman: Rangel Ethics Issue "Has No National Significance"

Paul Krugman wishes Charles Rangel would 'go away," but doesn't think his ethics problems are of any "national significance." When the head of the House tax writing committee has been admonished for accepting i8nappropriate trips and is under investigation for being a tax cheat, that is significant out here in fly-over country.

From the video:
GEORGE WILL, ABC NEWS: To know Charlie Rangel is to like him. Wonderful spirit and all that. Still, one has to wonder. Suppose a Republican had revised his disclosure form and suddenly his net worth doubled and he came upon not one but two checking accounts with $500,000 in them. I mean, there comes a point at which the tax writing committee be headed by someone without the...

ELIZABETH VARGAS, ABC NEWS: And Speaker Pelosi and Steny Hoyer were all calling for Tom DeLay to relinquish his post when he was also admonished by the ethics committee.

PAUL KRUGMAN, NEW YORK TIMES: Yeah, this is, you know, it is worth pointing out that none of these things actually seem to affect national policy. When Billy Townsend, when Billy Tauzin basically wrote the drug, the Medicare drug bill, then left to become head of the pharmaceutical lobby, that was much more serious, but it didn't actually violate House ethics rules. So, yeah, I'm unhappy with this. I wish Rangel would go away, but it's, it really has no national significance.

Nancy Pelosi Insists Democrats Will Maintain Control of House in 2010 Election (video)

Apparently, Nancy Pelosi is willing to throw 'Blue Dogs' under the bus to nationalize health care. This will undoubtedly be a great comfort to all those unemployed Democratic legislators from red states.
House Speaker Nancy Pelosi urged her colleagues to back a major overhaul of U.S. health care even if it threatens their political careers, a call to arms that underscores the issue's massive role in this election year.

Lawmakers sometimes must enact policies that, even if unpopular at the moment, will help the public, Pelosi said in an interview being broadcast Sunday the ABC News program "This Week." "We're not here just to self-perpetuate our service in Congress," she said. "We're here to do the job for the American people."

Of course, Pelosi's seat in ultra-liberal San Francisco is safe. Liberal Queen Nancy Pelosi thinks, with her current 54 vote majority, she can maintain control of the House even if 'Blue Dog' Democrats take a thrashing this fall.

Candy Crowley asks House Speaker Nancy Pelosi about the possibility of Democrats losing seats in the mid-term election.

How noble of Nancy Pelosi to so willingly sacrifice someone else's job to further her agenda.

Unbelievable! Pelosi Attacks Tea Party Movement, Then Says They Share Views With Demos!

Nancy Pelosi accuses the Tea Party Movement of being an "AstroTurf" pawn of the Republican Party. Pelosi completely denies the 'grass roots' nature of this movement. Then, she points out what the Tea Party Movement has in common with Democrats.

From The Note:
VARGAS: Let's talk a bit about the coming elections in November. You had recently-- and the Tea Party movement, do you think it will be a force to be reckoned with? You had said last summer that it was a faux grassroots movement. You called it the Astroturf movement.

PELOSI: In some respects it is. Uh-huh.

VARGAS: Is the Tea Party movement a force?

PELOSI: No – No what I said at the time is, that they were -- the Republican Party directs a lot of what the Tea Party does, but not everybody in the Tea Party takes direction from the Republican Party. And so there was a lot of, shall we say, Astroturf, as opposed to grassroots.

But, you know, we share some of the views of the Tea Partiers in terms of the role of special interest in Washington, D.C., as -- it just has to stop. And that's why I've fought the special interest, whether it's on energy, whether it's on health insurance, whether it's on pharmaceuticals and the rest.

VARGAS: So, common ground with many people in the Tea Party movement.

PELOSI: Well, no, there are some. There are some because they, again, some of it is orchestrated from the Republican headquarters. Some of it is hijacking the good intentions of lots of people who share some of our concerns that we have about the role of special interests and many Tea Partiers, not that I speak for them, share the view, whether it's -- and Democrats, Republicans and Independents share the view that the recent Supreme Court decision, which greatly empowers the special interests, is something that they oppose.

Al Gore Comes Out of Hiding and Gets a Fisking

Al Gore has been mostly MIA during the recent rash of blizzards in Washington that shut the government down. Perhaps he was snowed in and has only now dug his way out. He went to the Apple board meeting (he is a board member) and was soundly ridiculed by many shareholders. This hasn't deterred Al or the NYT. The New York Times is still willing to give him a venue to beat the ''dead horse' of global warming.
I, for one, genuinely wish that the climate crisis were an illusion. But unfortunately, the reality of the danger we are courting has not been changed by the discovery of at least two mistakes in the thousands of pages of careful scientific work over the last 22 years by the Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change. In fact, the crisis is still growing because we are continuing to dump 90 million tons of global-warming pollution every 24 hours into the atmosphere — as if it were an open sewer.

It is true that the climate panel published a flawed overestimate of the melting rate of debris-covered glaciers in the Himalayas, and used information about the Netherlands provided to it by the government, which was later found to be partly inaccurate. In addition, e-mail messages stolen from the University of East Anglia in Britain showed that scientists besieged by an onslaught of hostile, make-work demands from climate skeptics may not have adequately followed the requirements of the British freedom of information law...

Let's do some fisking of the "Goracles" statements.
Al Gore: "I, for one, genuinely wish that the climate crisis were an illusion."
Fact: Al Gore is believed to have made at least $100 million off of the global warming scam. Does he really wish he didn't have that money?

Al Gore: "the reality of the danger we are courting has not been changed by the discovery of at least two mistakes in the thousands of pages of careful scientific work.."
Fact: Saying "at least two mistakes" is really deceptive. The IPCC report used unpublished student dissertations and information from special interest groups to formulate sections of it's report. There are so may errors in the IPCC 2007 report, an independent board has been set up to review the workings of the world’s top climate science panel.

Al Gore: "e-mail messages stolen from the University of East Anglia in Britain showed that scientists besieged by an onslaught of hostile, make-work demands from climate skeptics may not have adequately followed the requirements of the British freedom of information law."
Fact: Saying global warming scientists "may not have adequately followed the requirements of the British freedom of information law" is really sugar coating it. How does that explain climatologists conspiring to hide information , deleting emails, suppressing criticism, evading taxes and many other transgressions?

Al Gore: "What is important is that the overwhelming consensus on global warming remains unchanged."
Fact: The climatologist, Phil Jones, at the heart of the Climategate scandal now admits the Medieval Warm Period may have been as warm as today. This week, The Institute of Physics issued a scathing document on the shoddiness of the science behind the man-made global warming claim.

Here is the rest of Al Gore's New York Times opinion.

Lockerbie bomber alive and living in the lap of luxury

We were told the Lockerbie bomber, Abdelbaset Ali Mohamed al-Megrahi, had less than three months to live. Six months later, he seems to be well and living in the lap of luxury. His elderly father is even talking about the possibility his son will beat prostrate cancer.
Freed from his life sentence, the Lockerbie bomber was sent home by the Scots on compassionate grounds because he had 'just three months' to live.

But six months later, Abdelbaset Ali Mohamed al-Megrahi is still living - and doing it in the lap of luxury.

Yesterday, his elderly father even held out the prospect of him beating the prostate cancer that doctors said would kill him by last Christmas.

So, why is this monster really free? The answer may be money.
Earlier this month it emerged that Libya was on the brink of agreeing £5billion in investment in Britain.

Critics believe Downing Street colluded with the Scots to pave the way by having Megrahi freed.

The news of Megrahi's survival has provoked consternation among those relatives of victims of the 1988 bombing of Pan Am Flight 103 who suspect he was never as sick as he claimed to be.

The Political Bridge is Washed Out, But Democrats are Stoking the Locomotive as They Race Toward the Abyss

Congress' approval is down to 10%. President Obama's approval is down to 43% of voters, Republicans are ahead 9 points in a generic congressional ballot and voters are overwhelmingly rejecting Obamacare. President Obama and Democrats don't care. They are signaling they are willing to go over the abyss to socialize health care and takeover one sixth of the US economy, even if they pay a heavy price at the polls.

From the corner:
I hear Republicans getting giddy over the fact that "reconciliation," if it comes to that, is a huge political loser. That's the wrong way to look at it. The Democratic leadership has already internalized the inevitablility of taking its political lumps. That makes reconciliation truly scary. Since the Dems know they will have to ram this monstrosity through, they figure it might as well be as monstrous as they can get wavering Democrats to go along with....

President Obama's NASA budget isn't 'job friendly.' The retirement of the shuttle fleet coupled with the cancellation of the Project Constellation and other projects will cost the jobs of 23,000 workers at and around Kennedy Space Center. 'Hope and Change' has arrived in Florida.

Florida Today reported:
Revised projections now show that about 23,000 workers at and around Kennedy Space Center will lose their jobs because of the shuttles' retirement and the new proposal to cancel the development of new rockets and spacecraft....

Institute of Physics Issues Scathing Document on Implications of Climategate

The British Parliament's Science and Technology committee has has welcomed comment as part of their investigation of the UEA CRU e-mails released in Climategate. The Institute of Physics is a scientific charity with over 36,000 members worldwide.
The Institute of Physics is a scientific charity devoted to increasing the practice, understanding and application of physics. It has a worldwide membership of over 36,000 and is a leading communicator of physics-related science to all audiences, from specialists through to government and the general public. Its publishing company, IOP Publishing, is a world leader in scientific publishing and the electronic dissemination of physics.

The Institute of Physics has responded. Here are the first six points of their thirteen point document. Their conclusions are very damning to the integrity of the climate research community.

1. The Institute is concerned that, unless the disclosed e-mails are proved to be forgeries or adaptations, worrying implications arise for the integrity of scientific research in this field and for the credibility of the scientific method as practised in this context.

2. The CRU e-mails as published on the internet provide prima facie evidence of determined and co-ordinated refusals to comply with honourable scientific traditions and freedom of information law. The principle that scientists should be willing to expose their ideas and results to independent testing and replication by others, which requires the open exchange of data, procedures and materials, is vital. The lack of compliance has been confirmed by the findings of the Information Commissioner. This extends well beyond the CRU itself - most of the e-mails were exchanged with researchers in a number of other international institutions who are also involved in the formulation of the IPCC's conclusions on climate change.

3. It is important to recognise that there are two completely different...

Lame Stream Media Alert: Joe Klein Didn't Watch the Obamacare Summit, but He is Sure Obama Won

Unless Joe Klein is psychic, he is being disingenuous. How can he read between the lines of the health care summit when he didn't even watch it? Many other pundits and commentators disagree with his analysis. They think the Republicans did very well.

From Swampland:
Reading between the lines, you can conclude that the Republicans had nothing very interesting, or clever, to say (and were never able to get the President's goat). And that the President was his usual, unflappable, well-informed self. You can also conclude that not much progress was made at the summit, as Karen reports here--but that's a huge surprise, right?

Palin : “to be dissed like that on national television did not speak well for our president’s character.”

Sarah Palin weighs in on President Obama snapping at Senator John McCaim, "The election is over." She is absolutely correct. President Obama's character is highly suspect. His arrogance is astounding.

The Washington Independent reported:
“Todd and I both saw that,” said Palin, “and we both said, you know, how arrogant for our president to say that.” She called McCain “an American war hero who has sacrificed so much,” arguing that for him “to be dissed like that on national television did not speak well for our president’s character.”

Obama the Camera Hog

Republicans attended President Obama's bipartisan health care summit. The only thing they asked for was equal time to present their views. How did Obama do at allowing the Republicans equal time? Here are the speaking stats: Obama 119 minutes, Democrats 114 minutes and Republicans 110 minutes. It was practically a democratic filibuster. Even though he hogged the camera, Obama didn't offer the Republicans any serious compromise. President Obama insists on a massive overhaul and takeover of our health care system. A good analogy would be if you couldn't agree with your spouse what kind of new house to buy. You want a $200k ranch and they want a $1 million mansion. The compromise they offer you is you can help pick the color some of the rooms will be painted, but you have to agree to buy the mansion.

From the Washington Times:

By the end of the televised event, Mr. Obama had spoken for 119 minutes - nine minutes more than the 110 minutes consumed by 17 Republicans. The 21 Democratic lawmakers used 114 minutes, giving the president and his supporters a whopping 233 minutes, according to a "talk clock" kept by GOP aides....

Fail: CBO Stimulus Job Creation Report Rigged to Automatically Show Job Creation

President Obama gets 'testy' with Sen. John McCain (video)

After Senator John McCain pointed out Obama promised health care reform would be done in front of C-SPAN camera's, instead of the backroom deals democrats actually used to craft their bloated health care reform bill, President Obama got a little testy.
"We're not campaigning any more, John. The election is over," he said.

To which McCain responded, "I'm reminded of that every day."

McCain And Obama Rematch

Republican's Brought Their "A" Team Obama's Health Care Summit

Power Line has excerpted some of the media's reaction to Republican participation in President Obama's Health Care Summit. Surprisingly, the reaction has been very positive. It looks like the Republican's health care 'A' Team can hold their own against Obama.

From Power Line:
CNN's David Gergen:

The folks in the White House just must be kicking themselves right now. They thought that coming out of Baltimore when the President went in and was mesmerizing and commanding in front of the House Republicans that he could do that again here today. That would revive health care and would change the public opinion about their health care bill and they can go on to victory. Just the opposite has happened

CNN's Gloria Borger:

The Republicans have been very effective today. They really did come to play. They were very smart.

They took on the substance of a very complex issue. ... But they really stuck to the substance of this issue and tried to get to the heart of it and I think did a very good job.

They came in with a plan. They mapped it out.

CNN's Wolf Blitzer:

It looks like the Republicans certainly showed up ready to play.

The Hill's A.B. Stoddard:

I think we need to start out by acknowledging Republicans brought their 'A Team.' They had doctors knowledgeable about the system, they brought substance to the table, and they, I thought, expressed interest in the reform. I thought in the lecture from Senator John McCain and on the issue of transparency, I thought today the Democrats were pretty much on their knees.

Obama Threatens Reconciliation?

Although President Obama doesn't use the 'reconciliation' word, I can't imagine he meant the following statements as anything other than a threat to use pass Obamacare by reconciliation and let the voters pass judgment at the polls in November.

From the video:
“What I do know is this, if we saw movement, significant movement, not just gestures, then you wouldn’t need to start over because essentially everybody here knows what the issues are, and procedurally it could get done fairly quickly.

“We cannot have another year long debate about this. So, the question I’m going to ask myself and I ask all of you is, is there enough serious effort that in a month’s time or a few week’s time or six week’s time we could actually resolve something? And if we can’t I think we got to go ahead and make some decisions and that’s what elections are for. We have honest disagreements about the vision for the country and we’ll go ahead and test those out over the next several months until November. Alright?”

I wonder how blue dog democrats feel about that?

What Part of 'No" Doesn't President Obama Understand?

President Obama's trap bipartisan health care summit is today. Republicans have agreed to show up, but they want to scrap the massive plan Obama and Democrats currently insist on starting from and start over. Americans clearly and overwhelmingly are saying "no" to the current plan.

Of course, President Obama and Democrats are planning to push ahead irregardless of what Americans think. The left thinks they are much smarter than ordinary Americans and they know what is best for you. Your opinion doesn't count. This is one of the big dangers of electing progressives. They are 'do-gooders' that think they know everything and the end justifies the means.

Government Run Health Care Alert

Twelve hundred people have lost their lives at an 'elite' British hospital due to an obsession with government targets.
Up to 1,200 people lost their lives needlessly because Mid-Staffordshire NHS Trust put government targets and cost-cutting ahead of patient care.

But none of the doctors, nurses and managers who failed them has suffered any formal sanction.

Patients in this hospital were subjected to deplorable conditions.
The inquiry found that:

• Patients were left unwashed in their own filth for up to a month as nurses ignored their requests to use the toilet or change their sheets;

• Four members of one family. including a new-born baby girl...

Conditions at this government run health care hospital were so bad, families were forced to wash their own soiled sheets.
The Francis report said staff numbers were allowed to fall 'dangerously low', causing nurses to neglect the most basic care. It said: 'Requests for assistance to use a bedpan or to get to and from the toilet were not responded to.

'Some families were left to take soiled sheets home to wash or to change beds when this should have been undertaken by the hospital and its staff.' Food and drink were left out of reach, forcing patients to drink water from flower vases.

Why anyone would want to mimic this system in any way is beyond comprehension. Progressives like to point to government run health care in Canada and Europe as examples, but the America has the best health care in the world. When Canadian Premier Danny Williams' heart was on the line, he chose to forgo Canada's socialist health care system and pay out of pocket to come to the US for heart surgery. Here is Williams response to the criticism:
"This was my heart, my choice and my health. I did not sign away my right to get the best possible health care for myself when I entered politics."

Liberals decry the US health care system as horrible, but that is a lie.

What Billion Dollar Embassy Would be Complete Without a Moat?

Model of the US Embassy with 30m moat

The national deficit is skyrocketing, Americans are out of work and everyone is tightening their financial belts. Well, not exactly everyone. The Obama White House is planning a $1 billion new embassy in London. The most expensive embassy ever built will come complete with it's own moat. Yes, you read that right. The new embassy will have a moat. I couldn't make this stuff up if I tried.

A moat 30 metres (100ft) wide and rolling parkland will separate the building from the main road, protecting it from would-be bombers and removing the need for the blast barriers that so dismayed the people of Mayfair.

Oh, this doesn't include the 17.5 per cent VAT the British are demanding.
It also does not include the 17.5 per cent VAT demanded by the Treasury on all buildings in Britain and which the US has refused to pay.

It is close to gay clubs. So, the embassy staff will have plenty of recreational opportunities.

Valerie Jarrett Thinks 'Tea Partiers' Need to Have Obamacare Explained in 'Simple Terms'

Valerie Jarrett thinks you need to have Obamacare explained to you in simple terms. She uses the example of how the 'Hope and Change' slogan worked for Obama. It was simple enough all the stupid people in flyover land could understand it. Of course, she explained it in a more flattering way than I did, but the end meaning is the same. I think Valerie Jarrett needs to have Americans explain their feelings on Obamacare to her in simple terms. Here is my attempt to get through to her. "What part of 'Hell No' don't you understand?"

It just isn't 'Tea Partiers' that are opposed to Obamacare. I guess Valerie Jarrett thinks fifty-six percent of voters are morons too. Jarrett also called the Tea Party Movement anti-government. What they really are is anti big government. I seriously doubt Valerie Jarrett has ever talked to anyone in the Tea Party movement.

Climate Scientists Want a Do-Over on Temperature Record

NASA GISS Temperature Station # 425724880010

UK's Met office is pushing a surface temperature data do-over. This proposed do-over is in response to the many problems with the data sets and methods used to calculate global temperature.

FOX News reported:
After the firestorm of criticism called Climate-gate, the British government's official Meteorological Office has decided to give its modern climate data a do-over.

At a meeting on Monday of about 150 climate scientists in the quiet Turkish seaside resort of Antalya, representatives of the weather office (known in Britain as the Met Office) quietly proposed that the world's climate scientists start all over again on a "grand challenge" to produce a new, common trove of global temperature data that is open to public scrutiny and "rigorous" peer review.

In other words, conduct investigations into modern global warming in a way that may help to end the mammoth controversy over world temperature data that has been stirred up in the past few years.

Among the changes they are proposing(pdf) are:
• "verifiable datasets starting from a common databank of unrestricted data"
• "methods that are fully documented in the peer reviewed literature and open to scrutiny;"
• "a set of independent assessments of surface temperature produced by independent groups using independent methods,"
• "comprehensive audit trails to deliver confidence in the results;"
• "robust assessment of uncertainties associated with observational error, temporal and geographical in homogeneities."

Wouldn't 'real' scientists have already done these things already? It sounds like an admission their records and methods are not: well documented, peer reviewed, independent, well audited or robust. Hmm... And the world is supposed to commit trillions of dollars to prevent man-made global warming based on this and similar data?

Harry Reid Accuses Unemployed Men of Being Wife-beaters

Harry Reid is concerned unemployed men will beat their spouses. This is why he has spent the last year working his butt off on a jobs health care bill.

I know many will clam their is a connection between unemployment and domestic abuse. My belief is there are men who will abuse their spouses and those that never will. Economics will not turn a non-abusive individual into an abuser. Of course, if people with abusive tendencies spend more time together or consume more alcohol, the opportunity for domestic violence rises.

Hilarious! Dallas Tea Party Smacks Down Keith Olbermann About Diversity!

I really enjoyed this video. This brilliant video put the pompous Keith Olbermann in his place for accusing the Tea Party movement of lacking diversity.

Rep. Xavier Becerra (D – CA) laughs out loud at Pledge of Allegiance suggestion

Rep. Xavier Becerra (D – CA) laughs out loud at the suggestion a SEIU immigration rally be started with the Pledge of Allegiance. The SEIU 'purple thugs' laugh too. They relent and take the pledge after the congressman is specifically confronted.

The individual who asked for the pledge is with Ari David for Congress.

Obama Will name Head of SEIU to Deficit Reduction Commission?

According to WaPo, President Obama is considering appointing Andrew Stern, president of the Service Employees International Union, to his deficit reduction commission. President Obama has a very close relationship with Andrew Stern and the thugs in the SEIU. The SEIU was vital in helping Obama and democrats AstroTurf their town halls this summer.

The Washington Post reported:

The White House is also considering appointing two Democrats: Andrew Stern, president of the Service Employees International Union,...

Did the Obama Administration Break the Law to Keep 60 Vote Senate Majority?

If reports they offered appointments to two democrats in order to preserve the Democrats' Senate 60 vote majority, they may have potentially violated the law.
The discovery that the White House has now been reported on two separate occasions in two different states to be deliberately committing a potential violation of federal law ...

This is the stuff of congressional investigations and cable news alerts, as an array of questions will inevitably start being asked of the Obama White House.

The charge would be bribery.

Bye Bye ACORN

ACORN is dissolving it's national structure because of brand damage they blame on FOX News. First, kudos to FOX News. Second, they are really going anywhere. They just need a new name.

Politico reported:
“ACORN has dissolved as a national structure of state organizations,” said a senior official close to the group, who declined to be identified by name because of the fierce conservative attacks on the group that began when a conservative...

I'll bet President Obama is sure going to miss meetings like this one.

Toyota thinks Obama is “not industry friendly”

Well, President Obama is certainly very UAW friendly. He has spent close to $100 billion in our tax dollars in an attempt to save GM and Chrysler. This has left the US Government owning the majority of GM and a significant share of Chrysler. When the people who own your competitor get to make recall decisions that can cost billions, it smells bad even if the recall decision is the correct one. On top of this, liberal democrats tend to be 'regulatory happy.' Why wouldn't Toyota, the other transplants and even Ford view the Obama administration in an adversarial way?
Internal Toyota documents derided the Obama administration and Democratic Congress as “activist” and “not industry friendly,” a revelation that comes days before the giant automaker’s top executives testify on Capitol Hill amid a giant recall.

According to a presentation obtained under subpoena by the House Oversight and Government Relations committee, Toyota referred to the “changing political environment” as one of its main challenges and anticipated a “more challenging regulatory” environment under the Obama administration’s purview.

What Ever Happened to Ground Zero?

Shamefully, there is still a big muddy hole there. It may be true some construction has started, but not a single project has been completed.

Rising Sea Level Study Used to Support IPCC 2007 Claim Has Been Withdrawn

Sell your scuba gear. The claim that oceans would rise by between 7cm and 82cm by the end of the century has been withdrawn. Global Warming scientists now say they don't know how much sea levels will rise in the next 90 years. This is the first ever paper retracted by Nature Geoscience.
Announcing the formal retraction of the paper from the journal, Siddall said: "It's one of those things that happens. People make mistakes and mistakes happen in science." He said there were two separate technical mistakes in the paper, which were pointed out by other scientists after it was published. A formal retraction was required, rather than a correction, because the errors undermined the study's conclusion....

Nature Publishing Group, which publishes Nature Geoscience, said this was the first paper retracted from the journal since it was launched in 2007.

RINO Arnold Schwarzenegger: "The Tea Party is not going to go anywhere”

One place you can bet the Tea Party movement won't ever be going is to the polls to vote for a RINO like Arnold Schwarzenegger.

ABC News reported:
California Governor Arnold Schwarzenegger was dismissive of the Tea Party movement in a “This Week” exclusive interview with Terry Moran. "The Tea Party is not going to go anywhere,” Schwarzenegger told Moran. “I think the Tea Party is all about just an expression of anger and dissatisfaction.”

Bill Maher: 'Teabaggers' are a Cult

Here is Bill Maher's latest verbal vomit:
The teabaggers, they're not a movement. They're a cult, and I'm going to prove it. You know someone has fallen into a cult if you see these signs: One. Cults have their own vocabulary. Now, I don't speak sh**kicker, but I know that in their world, freedom means guns, diplomacy means weakness, elitist means reader, and socialist means black.

Two. Cults tend to populate from within.encouraging members to have huge broods of children and to give them strange names, like Moonbeam, and Trig.

And three, cult members always attribute all of their problems to one simple explanation: [picture of Obama with Hitler moustache].

Even his liberal audience had trouble clapping.

This number is up eight points since 2006 when the Democrats took control of Congress. Eighty-one percent believe the government can be fixed. Hopefully, we can begin that fix in November.

From CNN:

Eighty-six percent of people questioned in the poll say that our system of government is broken, with 14 percent saying no. Of that 86 percent, 81 percent say that the government can be fixed, with 5 percent saying it's beyond repair.
