Biden gives Israel green light to attack Iran, Obama says, "absolutely not."

President Obama slaps VP Joe Biden down on his "green light" for Israel to attack Iran.

From CNNPolitics:
MOSCOW, Russia (CNN) — The United States is "absolutely not" giving Israel a green light to attack Iran, U.S. President Barack Obama told CNN Tuesday.

"We have said directly to the Israelis that it is important to try and resolve this in an international setting in a way that does not create major conflict in the Middle East," Obama said, referring to Iran's nuclear ambitions.

U.S. Vice President Joe Biden appeared to leave the door open on Sunday for Israel to attack Iran if it saw fit.

"Israel can determine for itself — it's a sovereign nation — what's in their interest and what they decide to do relative to Iran and anyone else," Biden said on ABC's "This Week."

Our government as of late has been trying to help us better help ourselves by offering legislation to overhaul our healthcare system. Nancy pelosi said that this legislation is necessary to correct what the insurance companies have done to us over the years. Having given this some thought , I've decided to review a few of the problems with our healthcare that our government has directly contributed to over the years.
Lets start with the estimated 12 million illegal immigrants that have flowed across our borders. While many of these well meaning law breakers may be conservative in their lifestyles, they do not hesitate to utilize our healthcare infrastructure for their medical needs. This has taxed the industry so badly in some areas that hospitals and clinics have had to close. What has the government done to stem the tide of illegal immigration? Not much besides an incomplete fence and more agents which are limited in the scope of what they can do. One can't forget about the push for amnesty by many in our government. It seems logical to use our own troops to help get control over the problem but other than National guard troops that are not allowed to carry weapons, it hasn't been done. Finally to add insult to injury, our government will continue to reward illegals by making sure that they are covered by the public option that they are so determined to saddle us with.
Lets go to medicare next. This program has been with us since 1965. Most elderly in this nation depend on medicare, so getting rid of it is not a viable option. Fixing medicare should be priority one for our government but instead they find it more prudent to cut medicare to support the takeover of all of healthcare. The cost of healthcare has increased eight times the rate of inflation since 1965. Thats right, thats the year medicare was instituted. Waste in government is not the exception, its the rule and every program that they already control proves it.
Thats just a few examples of what the government has done to us over the years when it comes to waste and lack of oversight. Are we supposed to let our government control the fate of our healthcare (and our childrens') for the foreseeable future? I contend that if this legislation passes then we're stuck with it. Instead of working to institute tort reform and controlling the costs of the various aspects of our healthcare through direct competition between hospitals and proper oversight for medicare and medicaid, our government instead wants to take our freedom of choice away with a public option. History has shown that such programs lead to a government run system. Nancy Pelosi and Harry Reid like to attack the insurance industry for their profits. Im not a fan of insurance companies myself, but before they cast a stone, perhaps they should take a long look in the mirror. The money which they throw around so loosely is our money. It belongs to the tax payers of this nation. In my humble opinion we are not getting a good return on our money. We should demand fiscal responsibility from our elected officials. If it means that government should be down-sized then so be it. The rest of us, have for the most part, trimmed our spending to adjust to a slow economy and had to do without to some degree. Its only right that government should also. All I see from this administration however is a reckless desire to expand the size and scope of government, with the consequence of our individual liberties being eroded away. Are we as a nation so feeble-minded as to believe them when they imply that this legislation is for our own good? Let me decide whats good for me. Hands Off!!!
