Democrats AstroTurfing to fill stadium for Obama's acceptance speech...

They should invite the people over at the Occupy Charlotte camp...
CHARLOTTE, N.C. - College students from across North Carolina will arrive in Charlotte by the busload. Same with members of predominantly black churches in neighbouring South Carolina.

Their goal: help fill a 74,000-seat outdoor stadium to capacity when President Barack Obama accepts the Democratic nomination Thursday night.

Anything short of a full house on the final night of the Democratic Party's national convention will be instant fodder for Republicans eager to use empty seats as symbols of waning voter enthusiasm for Obama.

Democrats have been fretting for months over whether the president can draw a capacity crowd at Bank of America Stadium. Polls show voter enthusiasm is down, as are Obama's crowds for his battleground state campaign rallies.

Amusing: Government Motors bans Obama until after election day...

President Obama won't be making any campaign stops at GM factories this election cycle. In an attempt to make it look fair, they also uninvited Mitt Romney to visit...

Here are two people you won't find touring a General Motors plant during the political season this fall: Barack Obama and Mitt Romney.

GM, saved by federal loans a few years ago, desperately wants to avoid becoming the centerpiece of campaign rhetoric. So it has banned candidates from its plants at least until after Election Day, Nov. 6, despite the fact that the U.S. Treasury remains its largest shareholder.

The Detroit car giant wants to be viewed as a success story -- not the arm of any campaign. After all, Democrats, Republicans and independents all buy vehicles.

Obama's lead drops to two points in Nevada

Obama is suffering a serious polling slide. It started in the mid-west, but may be spreading nationally now.

Via The Hill:
President Obama is holding to a narrow two-point lead in Nevada, although Mitt Romney has seen his prospects improve after naming Paul Ryan as his running mate, according to a poll released Wednesday.

The survey by the Las Vegas Review Journal showed President Obama and Vice President Biden edging the Romney-Ryan ticket 47 to 45 percent. That's the closest Romney has been to the president since an NBC News poll in May.

New RNC Video Ad: “This Is Not A Parody”

President Obama fielding some tough questions....

President Obama just wrapped up another hard-hitting interview where he discussed America’s top concerns, like whether our president prefers green or red chiles, his take on “Call Me Maybe,” and what superpower he wished he had. It’s been over eight weeks since President Obama took a question from the White House Press Corps.

Obama seeks new Democratic voters; tells NASA, "If in fact you do make contact with Martians, please tell me know right away."

First Obama will offer the Martians free entitlement programs, funded by NASA cuts. Then, he will follow that up with special rights to marry humans and legalized immigration status. That Obama certainly has unearthly cunning.

Via Gizmodo:

Today at 8am Pacific President Obama called the Mars Curiosity Rover team to congratulate them on the amazing feat that they accomplished on August 5. After commending their hard work and genius as a symbol of America's space prowess and innovation, he finished his call with this:
If in fact you do make contact with Martians, please tell me know right away.

John Sununu on Obama: "He is a wuss...is a wuss...is a wuss..."

Obvious...

Via CNN:
"Obama hasn't passed a budget in four years, he's a wuss," Sununu, a Republican, said Thursday on CNN's "Piers Morgan Tonight." "Obama has rejected the recommendation of his own Simpson-Bowles, on a budget package, he's a wuss. He wants to lead from behind, he's a wuss."

U.N. Official suggests Obama may be guilty of "war crimes"

President Obama is the only Nobel Peace Prize winner with a kill list in his office.
(Guardian) — The US policy of using aerial drones to carry out targeted killings presents a major challenge to the system of international law that has endured since the second world war, a United Nations investigator has said.

Christof Heyns, the UN special rapporteur on extrajudicial killings, summary or arbitrary executions, told a conference in Geneva that President Obama’s attacks in Pakistan, Yemen and elsewhere, carried out by the CIA, would encourage other states to flout long-established human rights standards.

In his strongest critique so far of drone strikes, Heyns suggested some may even constitute “war crimes”. His comments come amid rising international unease over the surge in killings by remotely piloted unmanned aerial vehicles (UAVs).

Addressing the conference, which was organised by the American Civil Liberties Union (ACLU), a second UN rapporteur, Ben Emmerson QC, who monitors counter-terrorism, announced he would be prioritising inquiries into drone strikes.

The Obama administration spent $10 billion to create 355 permanent green energy jobs

An additional 3,666 temporary construction jobs were created. Even if you include the temporary construction jobs, it comes to about $2.5 million per job.

Via WFB:
The Obama administration spent $10 billion to create 355 renewable energy jobs per year, according to testimony offered Tuesday before Congress by a Congressional Research Services expert.
Asked by Rep. Cory Gardner (R., Colo.) “how many jobs were created” in 2009 and 2010 under the 1603 renewable energy grant program authorized by the Obama administration, a CRS specialist in public finance admitted that $10 billion was spent to create 3,666 construction jobs over a two-year period — and only 355 jobs per year going forward.
Dr. Molly Sherlock, the CRS specialist, first said the jobs total would depend on the type of job — and differentiated between “induced,” “direct,” and “indirect” jobs — before Gardner asked for a straight number.
“I just want to know how many jobs were created,” Gardner said during the hearing.
“If you’re looking at the direct jobs, this one estimate has direct jobs created at 3,666 in the construction phase, and direct jobs created at 355,” Sherlock said. “Direct jobs would just be the construction jobs and the ongoing operations and maintenance jobs. But if you wanted to look at the supporting jobs in other industries then you’d want to look at the other figures.”

The Obama Economy: Median net worth of families plunges by 39 percent in just three years

Americans can't take four more years of President Obama's incompetence.

 Via WaPo:
The Federal Reserve said the median net worth of families plunged by 39 percent in just three years, from $126,400 in 2007 to $77,300 in 2010. That puts Americans roughly on par with where they were back in 1992.

The data represent one of the most detailed looks to date of how the economic downturn altered the landscape of family finance. Over a span of three years, Americans watched progress that took almost a generation to accumulate evaporate. The promise of retirement built on the inevitable rise of the stock market proved illusory for most. Homeownership, once heralded as a pathway to wealth, became an albatross.

Those findings underscore the depth of the wounds of the financial crisis and how far many families remain from healing. If the recession set Americans back 20 years, economists say, the road forward is sure to be a long one. And so far, the country has only seen a halting recovery.

Obama to invite Bush to White House for Unveiling of Official Portrait

I wouldn't be surprised if Obama has edited the portrait of Bush(above.)

Via Townhall:
This ought to be fun. Barack and Michelle Obama will welcome The Most Evil Man in the World (or as he's known outside the Democratic Party, George W. Bush) and his wife Laura to the White House next week, for the unveiling of their official portraits. Of course, this comes as the current president is in full campaign mode, and W. occupies the role of Obama's eternal scapegoat. It'll be no minor miracle if Obama can make it through the unveiling without blaming Bush for something.

After running up $5 trillion in new debt, Obama claims, “I’m running to pay down our debt ..."

Obama doesn't think he is a big spender because $5 trillion isn't a lot of money to him.
COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo. — At a fundraiser for his re-election campaign in Denver tonight, President Obama set out to upend conventional Republican wisdom that his administration has been defined by excessive government spending.
“I’m running to pay down our debt in a way that’s balanced and responsible. After inheriting a $1 trillion deficit, I signed $2 trillion of spending cuts into law,” he told a crowd of donors at the Hyatt Regency. “My opponent won’t admit it, but it’s starting to appear in places, like real liberal outlets, like the Wall Street Journal: Since I’ve been president, federal spending has risen at the lowest pace  in nearly 60 years. Think about that.”
Obama was referring to an analysis released this week by Rex Nutting, a reporter for CBS MarketWatch who is also affiliated with the Wall Street Journal. Nutting concluded that Obama has presided over the slowest growth in federal spending in decades.
“I just point out it always goes up least under Democratic presidents. This other side, I don’t know how they’ve been bamboozling folks into thinking that they are the responsible, fiscally-disciplined party. They run up these wild debts and then when we take over, we’ve got to clean it up.
The Romney campaign noted that more than $5 trillion has been added to the debt during Obama’s first term, though in 2008 Obama called the $4 trillion added under Bush “unpatriotic.”
The Republican National Committee pointed out that while growth of spending and debt may have slowed, Obama has overseen the three largest deficits in U.S. history.  (They also pass along fact-checker Politifact’s 2011 designation of Obama as the “undisputed debt king” of the last five presidents.)

The rest of the world is now disappointed in Obama too

Welcome to the Obama disappointment club.
In a world weary of war and economic crises, and concerned about global climate change, the consensus is that President Obama has not lived up to the lofty expectations that surrounded his 2008 election and Nobel Peace Prize a year later.

Many in Asia, Africa, the Middle East and Latin America were also taken aback by his support for gay marriage, a taboo subject among religious conservatives.
In Europe, where more than 200,000 people thronged a Berlin rally in 2008 to hear Obama speak, there's disappointment that he hasn't kept his promise to close the military prison at Guantanamo Bay, and perceptions that he's shunting blame for the financial crisis across the Atlantic.

In Mogadishu, a former teacher wishes he had sent more economic assistance and fewer armed drones to fix Somalia's problems. And many in the Middle East wonder what became of Obama's vow, in a landmark 2009

Fail: President Obama makes campaign speech in Nevada couple's garage. They won't say they will vote for him.

Obama drew a crowd of only a few dozen.

Via Daily Mail:
As leader of the free world President Obama will be used to making speeches to millions of people around the globe.
So he might have felt the occasion was a little beneath him yesterday when he stopped off in Reno, Nevada, to deliver an address outside a couple’s garage.
In what could be a disastrous photo opportunity for the President’s campaign, Mr Obama spoke to a handful of people in the crucial swing state.
The president’s 15 minute address outside the home of Paul and Val Keller on Friday afternoon, drew a small audience of neighbours and supporters — though even his hosts said they were not sure if they would vote for him in the coming election.
Despite this benefit, and a one-on-one meeting with the president in the couple’s kitchen, the couple reported themselves still divided on who they expect to vote for come November.
‘I like him, but I’ve always liked him,’ Mr Keller, a 67-year-old retired electrical contractor told a reporter with the Wall Street Journal.

After years of evolution, Obama thinks gay marriage is fabulous!

President Obama has admitted he supports gay marriage. His previous position was a thinly veiled sham. Everyone knew where he really stood on this issue, but few thought he would tell the truth before the election. This is a sign Obama knows he is going to lose this November. He doesn't think he has anything to lose at this point.

Via FOX News:
President Obama on Wednesday endorsed same-sex marriages, becoming the first sitting U.S. president to take that position following days of speculation about his "evolving" stance on the issue.

The president used a hastily called TV interview to make his position clear.

"At a certain point, I've just concluded that for me personally, it is important for me to go ahead and affirm that I think same-sex couples should be able to get married," Obama told ABC News.

The president, who was previously opposed to the unions, explained that he's gone through an "evolution." Obama said he initially thought civil unions would suffice as a vehicle to give same-sex couples the rights commensurate with those of heterosexual couples. "I'd hesitated on gay marriage in part because I thought civil unions would be sufficient," he said.
