Amusing: Hillary Clinton supporters being taught how to humanize her...

Well, she is a beast...

Via WaPo:
…Kathy Sullivan, a Democratic National Committee member from New Hampshire who attended the training, said it helped her “talk about the Hillary Clinton we know.” The session included a workshop in which supporters turned to the supporters sitting next to them and practiced sharing anecdotes about Clinton that help humanize her.
“We would each tell a personal story about Hillary Clinton that is an example of the qualities about her that make her attractive as a candidate. as opposed to listing a lot of policy positions,” Sullivan said.

Flashback: Obama's promises to improve Ethics in Washington were a joke...

Here are just a few of Obama's lies. the entire list is here.

  • End the Practice of Writing Legislation Behind Closed Doors: As president, Barack Obama will restore the American people's trust in their government by making government more open and transparent. Obama will work to reform congressional rules to require all legislative sessions, including committee mark-ups and conference committees, to be conducted in public. By making these practices public, the American people will be able to hold their leaders accountable for wasteful spending and lawmakers won't be able to slip favors for lobbyists into bills at the last minute. (Hello Obamacare)
  • Sunlight Before Signing: Too often bills are rushed through Congress and to the president before the public has the opportunity to review them. As president, Obama will not sign any non-emergency bill without giving the American public an opportunity to review and comment on the White House website for five days.  (Too many to list here)
  • Shine Light on Earmarks and Pork Barrel Spending: Obama's Transparency and Integrity in Earmarks Act will shed light on all earmarks by disclosing the name of the legislator who asked for each earmark, along with a written justification, 72 hours before they can be approved by the full Senate. (Hello Porckulus Stimulus)
  • Release Presidential Records: Obama and Biden will nullify attempts to make the timely release of presidential records more difficult. (Where are the Fast and Furious, Benghazi and IRS documents you have been stonewalling for years?

Ted Cruz campaigns in New Hampshire

Giddy up...

Via Dallas News
Ted Cruz, the first and so far only major candidate for president, swept into New Hampshire on Friday, upbeat and eager to embrace the outsider label he’s cultivated since erupting on the national scene three years ago.
“I am amazingly, powerfully, profoundly optimistic,” said the Texas senator, boasting to a cheering crowd at a VFW post that he had raked in $2 million within three days of launching his campaign Monday.
“The New York Times said Cruz cannot win because he is hated by the Washington elites,” Cruz said, and the 150 or more activists erupted. “I gotta admit, I wanted to Xerox that and mail it to all 300 million people.”
Cruz invoked the new rhetoric he unveiled with the launch of his campaign at Liberty University, the world’s largest Christian college. He said he’ll rely on an “army of courageous conservatives” to propel his bid for the GOP nomination...

Amusing: Obama finally hits the campaign trail. People start walking out...

Toxic...
(Reuters) – President Barack Obama made a rare appearance on the campaign trail on Sunday with a rally to support the Democratic candidate for governor in Maryland, but early departures of crowd members while he spoke underscored his continuing unpopularity.
With approval levels hovering around record lows, Obama has spent most of his campaign-related efforts this year raising money for struggling Democrats, who risk losing control of the U.S. Senate in the Nov. 4 midterm election.
Most candidates from his party have been wary of appearing with him during their election races because of his sagging popularity.

Reporter asks Hickenlooper campaign for tax returns...gets threatened with arrest.

Other Colorado media got copies of the returns weeks ago.

Via Watchdog.org:
DENVER — The campaign spokesman for Gov. John Hickenlooper threatened this reporter with arrest and called police when the reporter attempted to get the candidate’s tax returns, which were distributed to other Colorado media weeks ago.
Campaign spokesman Eddie Stern led me out of an office building that houses a number of different offices, including the Hickenlooper campaign, at 2525 16th St. in Denver and asked me to leave.
“Do you mind if we step outside,” Stern said, leading me out of the office complex to the sidewalk and parking lot.
“This is a private office, and I have to ask you to leave at this time,” he said. “Will you not record me?”
“No I will not, not record you,” I responded.
“It’s a private office I’m being recorded without my consent,” he said.
“We’re standing in a public parking lot, a public sidewalk, probably paid for by taxpayers. So anyway are you going to give me the tax returns or not?” I asked.
Stern then led me into the lobby of the building.

Mitt Romney rises from the dead (politically)

Guess who is in hot demand on the campaign trail. It's not Barack Hussein Obama.

Via WaPo:
President Obama thumped Mitt Romney in the 2012 election, but now their political standings seem reversed. During a summer in which Democratic candidates are keeping their distance from an unpopular president, Romney is emerging as one of the Republican Party’s most in-demand campaign surrogates.
Over three days in mid-August, Romney will campaign for GOP Senate and gubernatorial candidates in West Virginia, North Carolina and Arkansas, aides said. In September, he is planning visits to the presidential swing states of Colorado and Virginia.
Romney is filling up his October schedule, as well. Senate hopefuls in Iowa and New Hampshire are eager for him to return before November’s midterms, while Romney is weighing trips to other Senate battlegrounds. At least one high-profile Senate campaign said it has produced a television advertisement featuring Romney ready to air in the fall.
“Democrats don’t want to be associated with Barack Obama right now, but Republicans are dying to be associated with Mitt Romney,” said Spencer Zwick, a longtime Romney confidant who chaired his national finance council. He added: “Candidates, campaigns and donors in competitive races are calling saying, ‘Can we get Mitt here?’ They say, ‘We’ve looked at the polling, and Mitt Romney moves the needle for us.’ That’s somewhat unexpected for someone who lost the election.”

Democrat Alison Lundergan Grimes’s campaign accused of trying to bribe opponent to drop out...

Well, Alison Lundergan Grimes is a democrat, but her campaign denies this is true.Grimes will face either Sen. Mitch McConnell or Conservative Matt Bevin.

Via The Hill:
A third-party candidate in the Kentucky Senate race has accused Democrat Alison Lundergan Grimes’s campaign of trying to buy him out of the race.

Ed Marksberry claims in a 15-page missive that affiliates of her campaign offered him and his campaign manager benefits in exchange for his full exit from the race. Marksberry dropped out of the Democratic primary last year to run as an independent after alleging the state party inappropriately favored Lundergan Grimes.

“We met and I was told that Alison’s campaign would like to ask me to consider stepping out of the race,” Marksberry wrote in the document, published on local political blog Page One Kentucky.

Sen. Landrieu’s first ad claims she made Obama stop lying about people keeping their healthcare plan...

Seriously? Obamacare would never have been passed unless Landrieu took the Louisiana Purchase option and voted it into law. Harry Reid refused to bring her bill up for a vote. As for Obama now honoring his promise, that is a baldfaced lie. His rule changes only delay the lie for a few of those losing their healthcare plans.

When Sen. Landrieu learned that individuals who liked their health insurance could no longer keep it, despite the President’s promise, she wrote legislation to insure that the promise was kept. As a result, the President issued guidance allowing states and insurance companies to renew individual health plans for another year.

Report: Anthony Weiner having to "rent a crowd" to get people to attend his campaign events...

How embarrassing...

Via The NY Post:
Anthony Weiner is having such a hard time generating support for his limp campaign that he has resorted to paying a rent-a-crowd firm to provide “supporters” for his events, The Post has learned.
Some of the gung-ho Weiner crowds, including at the Aug. 11 Dominican Day Parade in Manhattan, were really actors who were paid $15 an hour by the California firm Crowds on Demand, according to a source with direct knowledge of the deal.
The source said surrogates for Weiner approached the Santa Monica-based company days after Indiana-native Sydney Leathers came forward to say that Weiner had continued his digital dalliances after resigning from Congress.

Carlos Danger's campaign manager abruptly quits...

The beginning of the end?

Via Politico:
Scandal-singed New York City mayoral hopeful Anthony Weiner’s campaign manager abruptly quit on the heels of fresh revelations that the ex-congressman resumed sexting relationships after he resigned in 2011, POLITICO has confirmed.

Danny Kedem, the young operative who joined Weiner’s campaign in late spring when the former congressman announced his candidacy, departed the effort at the end of last week, a source familiar with the move confirmed. The news was first reported by the New York Times’ Michael Barbaro.

Unlikely: White House Claims Obama Not Focused On 2014 Midterm Elections…

Actually, Obama is focused on the destruction of the Republican Party.

Via CBS News:
President Obama has already committed to an aggressive fundraising schedule this year to benefit congressional Democrats, but the White House insisted today that he doesn’t think he needs a Democratic majority in the House to accomplish his agenda.
“It goes without saying that a president wants those in his party to do well,” White House spokesman Jay Carney told reporters today. However, he added, the 2014 midterm elections are “not a focus of his particularly at this point.”
Mr. Obama will hold at least 14 fundraising events this year for Democrats running for Congress in 2014 — noticably more events than he’s committed to in past election cycles. The Washington Post reported over the weekend that after winning re-election in November, the president began almost immediately to work on putting the House of Representatives back under Democratic control. Following his election night victory, the Post reports, Mr. Obama called House Minority Leader Nancy Pelosi, D-Calif., and Rep. Steve Israel, D-N.Y., chairman of the Democratic Congressional Campaign Committee.
“The president understands that to get anything done, he needs a Democratic majority in the House of Representatives,” Israel told the Post. “To have a legacy in 2016, he will need a House majority in 2014, and that work has to start now.”

Amusing: Obama campaign workers snubbed by Presidential Inaugural Committee...

No doubt most are stupid enough they would do it all again...

Via BuzzFeed:
In a sour footnote to President Barack Obama’s sweeping electoral victory last November, many of his campaign staffers have been shut out of the inaugural festivities, more than a dozen of them complained to BuzzFeed Monday.
“We worked our butts off, and I’m going to watch it on TV instead of being there,” said one former staffer. “It’s a huge bummer.”
Former staffers — who spoke to BuzzFeed on the condition of anonymity to preserve their relationships, and possible jobs, in Obama’s second term — say they have grown frustrated by what they see as inadequate communication from the Presidential Inaugural Committee, the group responsible for the inaugural balls, and in particular by its restrictions on access to the official events.
“I didn’t hear anything from PIC until a little more than a week ago,” said another staffer. “They knew this was happening. Instead of giving us details [of what we could attend] on November 7th, we found out so late that it would cost me $2,000 to go to Washington for a weekend as opposed to $1,000 or less if I booked two months ago.” [...]

Huge crowd met Romney at Pittsburgh airport

Mitt Romney was moved...
(ABC News) – Mitt Romney’s campaign always makes his arrivals in various cities known to the local media, and in turn the public, but never before has a crowd of this size shown up to greet him. Upon landing here in Pittsburgh, Romney’s aides appeared shock as they crowded around the windows to check out the crowd.
And Romney was visibly moved at the site of the crowd, hundreds of supporters crammed into a parking structure just outside the airport.
Romney deplaned and walked toward a fence that separated him from the crowd, packed onto two levels of the garage.
He waved to the group with his left hand and placed his right hand over his heart for several minutes as they cheered.
Asked by ABC News how it felt to receive such a welcome, Romney turned and responded, “That’s when you know you’re gonna win.”
