Flashback: Obama's promises to improve Ethics in Washington were a joke...

Here are just a few of Obama's lies. the entire list is here.

  • End the Practice of Writing Legislation Behind Closed Doors: As president, Barack Obama will restore the American people's trust in their government by making government more open and transparent. Obama will work to reform congressional rules to require all legislative sessions, including committee mark-ups and conference committees, to be conducted in public. By making these practices public, the American people will be able to hold their leaders accountable for wasteful spending and lawmakers won't be able to slip favors for lobbyists into bills at the last minute. (Hello Obamacare)
  • Sunlight Before Signing: Too often bills are rushed through Congress and to the president before the public has the opportunity to review them. As president, Obama will not sign any non-emergency bill without giving the American public an opportunity to review and comment on the White House website for five days.  (Too many to list here)
  • Shine Light on Earmarks and Pork Barrel Spending: Obama's Transparency and Integrity in Earmarks Act will shed light on all earmarks by disclosing the name of the legislator who asked for each earmark, along with a written justification, 72 hours before they can be approved by the full Senate. (Hello Porckulus Stimulus)
  • Release Presidential Records: Obama and Biden will nullify attempts to make the timely release of presidential records more difficult. (Where are the Fast and Furious, Benghazi and IRS documents you have been stonewalling for years?

Blue Cross Jacks Insurance Rates $300 in Response to Obamacare

This isn't the change President Obama promised Americans. Blue Cross has announced massive health insurance premium increases.

It appears that, rather than making health care affordable as was promised, ObamaCare is taking our health insurance costs even higher—about $300 per month (or $3600 per year) higher. [Not that anyone with an IQ above an average AFSCME or SEIU member couldn't have figured it out anyway.]

Now, the “right” (read: soon-to-be mandate) of having health care insurance will only cost this family of five $17,705 per year. And, for what?…A couple of doctor visits per kid per year? The occasional prescription of antibiotics? The privilege of having a ‘just-in-case’ policy?

The Liar-in-Chief promised, over and over, to lower the average family premium by $2500 per year.

Obamacare is a big "Fail."

Senator Obama Promised a State of the World Speech if Elected. Where is it?

In an anti-Iraq war speech at DePaul University on October 2, 2007, Senator Obama promised to give an annual State of the World address if he was elected.
I will always tell the American people the truth. I will always tell you where I stand. It's what I'm doing in this campaign. It's what I'll do as President. I'll lead a new era of openness. I'll give an annual "State of the World" address to the American people in which I lay out our national security policy. I'll draw on the legacy of one our greatest Presidents - Franklin Roosevelt - and give regular "fireside webcasts," and I'll have members of my national security team do the same.

This is a campaign promise, made by then Senator Obama, that President Obama has failed to keep. May of the promises he made are difficult to deliver because they require Congress to enact legislation. This promise only requires President Obama to set up his teleprompter and assemble the press. Not only has Obama failed to deliver on this promise, the full video of this speech has been scrubbed from his website. This promise made by Senator Obama has been thrown down a dark hole without any explanation or discussion in the media. Why wouldn't Obama keep such an obviously easy promise? President Obama has been accused by many of being too global; even to the point of being un-American. This perception was heightened after President Obama made his July 2009 speech in Berlin. The many in the press dubbed it 'The New World Order' speech. Although, Obama never used those exact words in the speech, he did highlight his belief in global citizenship. Under the current depressed economic conditions, most voters are more concerned about the economy than global citizenship. Don't look for President Obama to fulfill the 'State of the World' address speech promise anytime soon.

Two-Faced Obama Refuses to Call Armenian Massacre Genocide Again

President Obama continues to break his campaign promise to call the massacre of up to 1.5 million Armenians 95 years ago genocide. Candidate Obama criticized the Bush administration for not calling the massacre genocide, when he was pandering for the 1.5 million Armenian American votes, and pledged to recognize the Armenian Genocide when he was President. So far, he has lied.

The NYT reported:
President Obama, who as a candidate vowed to use the term genocide to describe the Ottoman slaughter of 1.5 million Armenians...

On this solemn day of remembrance, we pause to recall that 95 years ago one of the worst atrocities of the 20th century began,” Mr. Obama said in the statement, which largely echoed the same language he used on this date a year ago. “In that dark moment of history, 1.5 million Armenians were massacred or marched to their death in the final days of the Ottoman Empire.”

“As president I will recognize the Armenian Genocide,” he said in a statement on Jan. 19, 2008, that used the word 10 more times.

Obama: No family making less than $250,000 will see "any form of tax increase." Politifact: Promise broken

PolitiFact often carries water for the radical left-wing of the Democratic Party, but they have been forced to concede President Obama broke his campaign pledge of "No family making less than $250,000 will see any form of tax increase."

Just so Americans never forget this blatant and emphatic lie by President Obama; here is the video again.

Obama's Expired Promises

Here are some of President Obama's expired promises.

From National Review Onlne:
HEALTH CARE MANDATES

STATEMENT: “We've got a philosophical difference, which we've debated repeatedly, and that is that Senator Clinton believes the only way to achieve universal health care is to force everybody to purchase it. And my belief is, the reason that people don't have it is not because they don't want it but because they can't afford it.” Barack Obama, speaking at a Democratic presidential debate, February 21, 2008.

EXPIRATION DATE: On March 23, 2010, Obama signed the individual mandate into law.

Flashback: Obama Promised in ‘08 “every penny” of TARP would go back to taxpayers (video)

Then Senator Obama didn't want President Bush to have a blank check with the TARP funds. He promised “every penny” of TARP would go back to taxpayers. Of course, that promise has expired. Now, President Obama wants to spend the returned TARP money again.

Obama is such a liar.

Hey Obama, where are the 600,000 new jobs you promised this summer?

On June 8th Barack Obama promised to speed up the Stimulus projects over the summer and to "create or save" 600,000 jobs.

From the video:
Barack Obama: "Now we are in a position to really accelerate. The goal here is that we are going to create or save 600,000 jobs over the next 100 days."

The actual result via Gateway Pundit.
The US lost 443,000 jobs in June.
The US lost 247,000 jobs in July.
The US lost 216,000 jobs in August.

Instead of creating or saving 600,000 jobs this summer the US lost 935,000 instead.
Thanks Barack.

Obama breaks another campaign promise

Candidate Barack Obama severely criticized President Bush for using signing statements on bills he disagreed with. The controversial signing statements say parts of the bill are unconstitutional and the President is going to ignore that part. Obama strongly indicated these signing statements are unconstitutional. He pledged to not use them. Of course, the election is over now.

From Hot Air:
House members approved an amendment by a 429-2 vote to have the Obama administration pressure the World Bank to strengthen labor and environmental standards and require a Treasury Department report on World Bank and International Monetary Fund (IMF) activities. The amendment to a 2010 funding bill for the State Department and foreign operations was proposed by Rep. Kay Granger (R-Texas), but it received broad bipartisan support.

The conditions on World Bank and IMF funding were part of the $106 billion war supplemental bill that was passed last month. Obama, in a statement made as he signed the bill, said that he would ignore the conditions.

They would “interfere with my constitutional authority to conduct foreign relations by directing the Executive to take certain positions in negotiations or discussions with international organizations and foreign governments, or by requiring consultation with the Congress prior to such negotiations or discussions,” Obama said in the signing statement.

Here is the campaign promise to not use signing statements.

Obama breaks NAFTA campaign promise

President Obama quietly announces he was not going to try to renegotiate NAFTA Monday. Undoubtedly, he got blasted by his counterparts at the Summit of the Americas over the weekend. This will make some of his base angry if the Main Stram Media ever report the news. Don't hold your breath for that to happen. From online.wsj.com,
Three cheers for President Obama's decision, announced quietly on Monday, to repudiate a campaign promise and not press for new labor and environmental regulations in the North American Free Trade Agreement. The last thing the Western Hemisphere needs are more trade barriers that would snarl supply chains and damage commerce.

Perhaps we should call this Austan Goolsbee's revenge. Recall that last year the Obama economic adviser had told a Canadian diplomat to ignore Mr. Obama's Nafta campaign rhetoric; the candidate was merely pandering to Big Labor. When that disclosure became news, Mr. Goolsbee was banished to the campaign's isolation ward for imperfect spinners. Now we know Mr. Goolsbee -- not the candidate -- was the one telling the truth.

Mr. Obama got an earful on trade from his counterparts at the Summit of the Americas over the weekend and that might have something to do with his Nafta walkback. But three other trade issues to watch are the unilateral U.S. ban on Mexican long-haul trucks, which has sparked a trade war with that country, the U.S. failure to ratify a free trade agreement with Colombia, and the 54-cent per gallon U.S. import duty on Brazilian ethanol. Mr. Obama has promised to discuss each one. But the real test will be his willingness to spend political capital to defeat protectionists in Congress.
