Obama threatens to block all funding for DHS if Republicans try to block his illegal amnesty...

This threatened action by Obama won't happen unless someone gave McConnell and Boehner some balls for Christmas.
Everybody knew that one kid when they were younger who, when they didn’t get their way, would pitch a fit and take their toy or ball and just go home.
President Barack Obama basically just pitched a fit and threatened to take his toy called the Department of Homeland Security away from everybody, if the Republicans in Congress won’t fund his illegal and unconstitutional amnesty plans.

According to the Daily Caller, one of Obama’s top aides said that Obama could essentially block all funding for, and essentially shut down, the DHS, if the GOP tries to do anything legislatively about his executive amnesty.
Dan Pfeiffer said that Obama would block all funding for the entire department, and would veto any spending bill if the Republicans try to impose cuts to spending aimed at stopping or slowing Obama’s plans to allow illegal immigrants into the country.
This is basically a threat to the GOP to force them to back off plans to defund Obama’s amnesty.

Amusing: Gawker claims to have found man who allegedly raped Lena Dunham. He is a registered Democrat.

Oops!

Via Daily Caller:
Media gossip site Gawker claims to have found out who was actually the man who allegedly raped comedienne Lena Dunham while she was a student at Oberlin College. But despite her book’s description of her rapist as the “resident conservative,” the man fingered by Gawker appears to be a registered Democrat.
But Gawker identified another man using Dunham’s original 2012 book proposal, which contained a significantly different description of her alleged rapist. The extra details, such as the fact that he was Jewish and the son of an NPR host, point the finger at another easily identifiable individual. […]
In both the finished book and the 2012 book proposal, Dunham identified her rapist as a Republican. But Gawker noted there was no evidence pointing to him being a Republican. In fact…
“There is at least one discrepancy between the proposal and what we know about [the accused], however. According to public records, [the accused] did not affiliate with either major political party until 2012, when he formally registered as a Democrat. Unlike the character in Dunham’s memoir, he does not appear to have ever been an on-the-book Republican—though it’s certainly possible he identified as one without ever filing the proper paperwork.

While you weren't looking, Obama released 5 more Gitmo detainees...

Is Obama notifying Congress of these releases or is he ignoring the law again?

Via FOX News:
The Defense Department announced Wednesday that five more prisoners will be transferred out of Guantanamo Bay to another nation, in the latest step by the Obama administration to whittle down the prisoner population in pursuit of ultimately closing the camp.
The five men will be transferred to the Central Asian nation of Kazakhstan for resettlement, the U.S. government announced.
The two men from Tunisia and three from Yemen -- who have been at the camp for a dozen years -- had been cleared for release from the prison by a government task force but could not be sent to their homelands. The U.S. has sent hundreds of prisoners from Guantanamo to third countries but this is the first time Kazakhstan has accepted any for resettlement.
Their release brings the prison population at Guantanamo to 127, according to a Pentagon statement on Tuesday.

Animal rights wackos free hippo from circus...hippo hit by car and killed...

Where did the morons think the hippo was going?  Hippos aren't native to Italy. I feel bad for the hippo.
[...]Thanks animal activists for more great work, you dipsticks.  BTW, they also vandalized the circus and ‘freed’ several other animals in town. I’m sure they’ll fare as well as this hippo did.
Aisha the hippo died on Saturday night after being hit by a car on a road in Villa Potenza, in the Marche region, Cronache Maceratesi reported.
The eight-year-old hippo was making a bid for freedom from the Orfei circus when the fatal crash occurred. Despite weighing 1.5 tonnes Aisha was no match for the Polo driven by a 25-year-old local man, who suffered only light injuries.[...]

Jeb Bush leading GOP 2016 field by 10 points...

I don't think another Bush or Clinton in the White House in 2016 would be best for the country.Hillary would crush Jeb Bush because she has more name recognition and there isn't enough gap between their positions to really motivate voters.

Via Hot Air:
It’s the first time since Election 2012, notes CNN, that any Republican has held a lead greater than the MOE. Establishmentum?
A poll this early, when Jeb momentarily has the field to himself, is 99 percent useless — but since it’s a slow holiday news week, let’s explore that remaining one percent. Bush has gained nine points since last month’s poll, a bounce obviously driven by his splashy early entry into the race. Will Chris Christie and Rand Paul get similar bounces when they jump in? Here’s your benchmark.
He takes nearly one-quarter — 23% — of Republicans surveyed in the new nationwide poll, putting him 10 points ahead of his closest competitor, New Jersey Gov. Chris Christie, who tallied 13%.
Physician Ben Carson comes in third, with 7% support, and Sen. Rand Paul and former Arkansas Gov. Mike Huckabee are both tied for fourth with 6%.

Sony hack was laid-off staff, not North Korea?

Hmm...

Via Politico:
FBI agents investigating the Sony Pictures hack were briefed Monday by a security firm that says its research points to laid-off Sony staff, not North Korea, as the perpetrator another example of the continuing whodunit blame game around the devastating attack.
Even the unprecedented decision to release details of an ongoing FBI investigation and President Barack Obama publicly blaming the hermit authoritarian regime hasn’t quieted a chorus of well-qualified skeptics who say the evidence just doesn’t add up.
Researchers from the cyber intelligence company Norse have said their own investigation into the data on the Sony attack doesn’t point to North Korea at all and instead indicates some combination of a disgruntled employee and hackers for piracy groups is at fault.

Guess which cable news network had worst ratings since 2005

Congratulations to MSNBC. They earned it.

Via LA Times:
A change is going to come to MSNBC in 2015.
“Technology is continuing to drive unprecedented changes across the media landscape — and we all should be taking a hard, honest look at how we need to evolve along with it,” Phil Griffin, president of the NBC-owned cable news channel, wrote in a year-end message sent to employees Monday and reviewed by The Times.
Griffin noted that it was a tough year for cable news networks — Fox News Channel, CNN and MSNBC are all on track finish 2014 with a lower daily average audience than the previous year. Part of that has to do with the growth of broadband Internet service, which enables more news consumers to find video coverage online and through their mobile devices.[...]
Through Dec. 21, MSNBC averaged 169,000 prime-time viewers in the category, down 17% from 2013 and its worst performance since 2005.  [...]

Army couple forced to change wedding plans with 24 hours notice so Obama could play golf...

Barack Obama has done a lot of shameful things, but this is certainly one of the worst. Obama is a narcissist who cares only about himself. Earlier, Obama had a beach closed so he could use it privately.

Via The Hill:
Edward Mallue Jr. and Natalie Heimel had planned to tie the knot on the 16th tee at Kaneohe Klipper golf course when management informed them that they would have to wait a day so the president could hit the links.

Kaneohe Klipper is an 18-hole championship course on the military base that offers views of the Ko’olau Mountains and Pacific coastline.

The episode is the second time the president’s golf game has caused a commotion since he began his vacation last week.

Over the weekend, Malaysian Prime Minister Najib Razak had to defend his recent golf outing with the president after being criticized back home.
This was a double win for Obama. He got to play golf and stick his thumb in the military's eye at the same time.

GQ survey of “Craziest Politicians of 2014” lists only three Democrats...

Thankfully, the NY Post helps them out.
In a survey of the “Craziest Politicians of 2014,” GQ had difficulty locating any Democrats. Seventeen out of 20 on the list were Republicans, with the only liberals being Texas Rep. Sheila Jackson Lee, Georgia Rep. Hank Johnson and America’s reigning nabob of nuttiness, Joe Biden.
In a note appended to the story, GQ defensively said it wasn’t guilty of “standard liberal-media bias,” it just couldn’t find any loony Democrats to speak of.
Let’s give GQ a little help, shall we? Here are 16 more Democrats to the list of the most cra-cra political figures.

Guess who Obama's allying with against ISIS...

It's Iran.

Via WaPo:
Iranian military involvement has dramatically increased in Iraq over the past year as Tehran has delivered desperately needed aid to Baghdad in its fight against Islamic State militants, say U.S., Iraqi and Iranian sources. In the eyes of Obama administration officials, equally concerned about the rise of the brutal Islamist group, that’s an acceptable role — for now.
Yet as U.S. troops return to a limited mission in Iraq, American officials remain apprehensive about the potential for renewed friction with Iran, either directly or via Iranian-backed militias that once attacked U.S. personnel on a regular basis.
A senior Iranian cleric with close ties to Tehran’s leadership, who spoke on the condition of anonymity to discuss security matters, said that since the Islamic State’s capture of much of northern Iraq in June, Iran has sent more than 1,000 military advisers to Iraq, as well as elite units, and has conducted airstrikes and spent more than $1 billion on military aid.
“The areas that have been liberated from Daesh have been thanks to Iran’s advice, command, leaders and support,” the cleric said, using the Arabic acronym for the group.

Wounded Bear Update: Putin Cancels New Year Holidays for Government Officials

The Russian economy is in crisis because of falling oil prices. Fracking for the win.

Via NZ Herald:
Russia’s economy will shrink by around 4 per cent next year as a result of falling oil prices and ongoing financial turmoil, its finance minister has warned. Anton Siluanov said lower revenues would force the Government to increase its budget deficit and raid reserves to make up the shortfall.
His warnings came as President Vladimir Putin scrapped New Year holidays for Government officials because of the unfolding economic crisis.
“If incomes are lower and the main spending is fully financed, then we’ll have to use reserves and increase the deficit,” said Siluanov.
He said if oil prices stayed around US$60 a barrel the economy would contract 4 per cent and the budget deficit would be “considerably higher” next year.
“One year with a deficit isn’t so scary, the most important thing is to prepare future budgets,” he said. It came as Russia’s central bank said authorities had quadrupled the amount they would pump into the Trust Bank in the country’s second-largest bank bail-out.

Barack Obama: Afghanistan will not “be a source of terrorist attacks again”

I hope this statement is true, but there is no good reason to believe it. It's just Obama making up stuff again.

Via Washington Examiner
President Obama pledged that Afghanistan will no longer “be a source of terrorist attacks again,” a week before the U.S. is set to end its combat mission in the Middle Eastern nation.
“We’ve been in continuous war now for over 13 years. Next week we will be ending our combat mission in Afghanistan,” Obama told troops in Hawaii late Thursday, celebrating Christmas.
“Because of the extraordinary service of the men and women in the armed forces, Afghanistan has a chance to rebuild its own country,” he said. “We are safer. It’s not going to be a source of terrorist attacks again.”
Though the American combat mission in Afghanistan is nearly completed, at least some troops are scheduled to stay in the nation until the end of 2016.
However, Republicans argue that the major drawdown of U.S. troops in Afghanistan will create another hotbed for terrorist activity in the Middle East, as the Islamic State of Iraq and Syria poses a major security threat to the region.

Unlikely: Barack Obama claims U.S. is less racially divided than before he was elected...

Biggest liar ever...
WASHINGTON – President Obama says the United States is less racially divided despite the tensions raging from deadly police shootings and emotional protests.
Compared to six years ago when he made history as the first black president, Obama says American race relations are on the upswing.
“I actually think that it’s probably in its day-to-day interactions less racially divided,” Obama told National Public Radio.
Americans, however, seem to disagree.
A Bloomberg Politics survey out this month found a majority of Americans – 53 percent – feel interactions between white and black communities have deteriorated since Obama took office.

Ms. O’Donnell told The Washington Times that she discovered the levy when she couldn’t access her checking account as she was preparing to visit relatives over Thanksgiving.

Yesterday was the 62nd re-enactment of Washington’s daring Christmas 1776 crossing of the Delaware River

In case you missed it...

Via Minneapolis Star Tribune
George Washington made his Christmas Day trip across the Delaware River — with considerably better weather than the first time.
Re-enactors playing Washington and his troops crossed the Delaware River in the 62nd re-enactment of Washington’s daring Christmas 1776 crossing of the river — the trek that turned the tide of the Revolutionary War — between Washington Crossing, Pennsylvania, and Titusville, New Jersey, on Thursday afternoon.
As opposed to the severe weather — including snow and freezing temperatures — that Washington and his troops faced in 1776, the annual re-enactment was done under mostly sunny skies and 50-degree temperatures.
Hundreds of people lined both sides of the river to watch as re-enactors used four replica Durham boats like the ones Washington’s troops used. The actor playing Washington boarded the final boat, and a cannon blasted as he reached the other side.
During the original crossing, boats ferried 2,400 soldiers, 200 horses and 18 cannons across the river. Washington’s troops marched 8 miles downriver before battling Hessian mercenaries in the streets of Trenton.
Thirty Hessians were killed, and two Continental soldiers froze to death on the march, but none died in battle.

Actual Good News: Ice at Arctic and Antarctic poles "much more stable" than climate scientists once predicted

Al Gore hardest hit...

Via Express:
In fact, the poles are "much more stable" than climate scientists once predicted and could even be much thicker than previously thought.
For years, scientists have suggested that both poles are melting at an alarming rate because of warming temperatures - dangerously raising the Earth's sea levels while threatening the homes of Arctic and Antarctic animals.
But the uncertainty surrounding climate change and the polar ice caps reached a new level this month when research suggested the ice in the Antarctic is actually growing.
And there could even be evidence to suggest the polar bear population is not under threat.
Ted Maksym, an oceanographer at the Woods Hole Oceanographic Institution in Massachusetts, conducted a study in which he sent an underwater robot into the depths of the Antarctic sea to measure the ice.
His results contradicted previous assumptions made by scientists and showed that the ice is actually much thicker than has been predicted over the last 20 years.[...]
The data from the European Space Agency CryoSat-2 satellite suggests that Arctic sea ice volumes in the autumn of 2014 were above the average set over the last five years, and sharply up on the lows recorded in 2011 and 2012.
According to this research, Arctic sea ice volumes in October and November this year averaged at 10,200 cubic kilometres. Keep on reading...

Amusing: NWS forced to issue blizzard warning for Hawaii while Obama is vacationing there...

Has the Al Gore curse moved to Obama?

Via West Hawaii Today
A blizzard warning has been issued for the Mauna Loa and Mauna Kea summits above 11,000 feet in elevation through Wednesday, according to the National Weather Service in Honolulu. Up to a 8 inches of snow is forecast to fall Wednesday.
A sharp upper trough to the west of the Big Island will continue to draw deep moisture over the summits Wednesday leading to periods of heavy snow and low visibility. Winds are already increasing and are expected to continue that trend throughout Wednesday.
The service forecast south winds around 45 to 65 mph with gusts topping 90 mph.
Temperatures at the summit are expected to be in the upper 30s on Wednessday. Visibility during snow showers could near as low as a quarter-mile.
The Mauna Kea Weather Center on Wednesday morning reported the summit road was closed because of pathy ice and snow.
A blizzard warning means severe winter weather conditions are expected or occurring. Falling and blowing snow with strong winds and poor visibility can be expected that may lead to whiteout conditions that can make travel very dangerous. The service cautioned that conditions may be extremely hazardous and potentially life threatening and urged people to avoid travel to the area. If people must travel, the service advises having a survival kit and to stay within a vehicle should someone become stranded.

Change: Only 46 percent of children younger than 18 live in “traditional” families headed by two heterosexual parents

This isn't change for the better. I am not saying the there aren't a lot of successful single parents. There are. But the breakdown of the traditional nuclear family is at the root of most of societies ills. Statistically, children of single parent's have lower educational achievement levels, live in lower income homes, are more dependent on the government and to get in trouble with the law. When you group large numbers of single parent households together, you get drug blighted projects that are ruled by gangs. It doesn't matter if the neighborhoods are black, white or Hispanic. According to the 2010 Census, 37.6% of Ferguson, Missouri households are headed by a single parent. We all know how well that is working out.

Via Washington Examiner:
Norman Rockwell wouldn’t recognize today’s American families.
The latest Pew Research Center survey on families, finds that just 46 percent of children younger than 18 live in “traditional” families headed by two heterosexual parents in their first marriage. In 1960, it was 73 percent.
“Rapid changes in American family structure have altered the image of who’s gathering for the holidays. While the old ‘ideal’ involved couples marrying young, then starting a family, and staying married till ‘death do they part,’ the family has become more complex, and less ‘traditional,’ ” said Pew.

Want to change seats on a United Airline flight? That's a jailing...

It seems you give up all your rights when you head to the airport. You may be subjected to an unconstitutional search by TSA and then treated like a jail inmate by the airline crew. Whatever happened to customer service or common sense?

Via CBS New York:
It was the third leg of a long cross-country trip, and she hoped to sleep.
“One of the stewardesses said ‘Oh no you don’t.’ Which stopped me in my tracks,” she said.
So Mamakos moved toward the front of the plane.
“So I went forward and then another stewardess came along and said ‘Give me your credit card,'” she said.
Mamakos, a registered nurse, was in an empty exit row emergency seat and was told this would be a costly upgrade.
“At that point I decided no, I’m not paying $109 and I’ll go back to my seat,” she said.
Seated now, resigned to her crowded row, an announcement was made.
“I heard the captain say ‘There is a lady that wants to get off the plane on this flight, so we have to wait,” she said.
Flight attendants then surrounded her.
“And said ‘You have to get off this plane.’ And I said ‘no, I paid for this seat and I’m going to stay here,'” she said.
Mamakos was eventually booked, fingerprinted and had her mug shot taken before she was sent to the county jail. Her bags and her shocked friends went on to Alaska.
“They enjoyed their ski trip and I had an experience in jail,” Mamakos said.
Her attorney, Patricia Swicicki, said Mamakos spent three harrowing days in jail because courts weren’t open on the weekend. They are suing United Airlines for $5 million. Read more here...

Liberal Salon: The Virgin Mary was raped

Dumbest ever...

Via Salon
Though the earliest Christians had a competing story, in the Gospel of Luke, the Virgin Mary gets pregnant when the spirit of the Lord comes upon her and the power of the Most High overshadows her.
The earliest accounts of Zoroaster’s birth have him born of a human father and mother, much like Jesus,; but in later accounts his mother is pierced by a shaft of divine light.
The Hindu god Shiva has sex with the human woman Madhura, who has come to worship him while his wife Parvathi is away. Parvathi turns Madhura into a frog, but after 12 years in a well she regains human form and gives birth to Indrajit.
The Buddha’s mother Maya finds herself pregnant after being entered from the side by a god in a dream.
The impregnation process may be a “ravishing” or seduction or some kind of titillating but nonsexual procreative penetration. The story may come from an Eastern or Western religious tradition, pagan or Christian. But these encounters between beautiful young women and gods have one thing in common. None of them has freely given female consent as a part of the narrative. (Luke’s Mary assents after being not asked but told by a powerful supernatural being what is going to happen to her, “Behold the bond slave of the Lord: be it done to me . . .”)

France lets 75% super-tax quietly expire...

It was really bad PR.
PARIS (Reuters) - When President Francois Hollande unveiled a "super-tax" on the rich in 2012, some feared an exodus of business, sporting and artistic talent. One adviser warned it was a Socialist step too far that would turn France into "Cuba without sun".
Two years on, with the tax due to expire at the end of this month, the mass emigration has not happened. But the damage to France's appeal as a home for top earners has been great, and the pickings from the levy paltry.
"The reform clearly damaged France's reputation and competitiveness," said Jorg Stegemann, head of Kennedy Executive, an executive search firm based in France and Germany.
"It clearly has become harder to attract international senior managers to come to France than it was," he added.
Hollande first floated the 75-percent super-tax on earnings over 1 million euros ($1.2 million) a year in his 2012 campaign to oust his conservative rival Nicolas Sarkozy. It fired up left-wing voters and helped him unseat the incumbent.
Yet ever since, it has been a thorn in his side, helping little in France's effort to bring its public deficit within European Union limits and mixing the message just as Hollande sought to promote a more pro-business image. The adviser who made the "Cuba" gag was Emmanuel Macron, the ex-banker who is now his economy minister.

Poll: Only 15 percent of active-duty service members approve of Barack Obama's job as commander-in-chief

The number should be zero. Obama hates the military.

Via The Christian Science Monitor:
If President Obama's approval ratings have slipped with the general population, they have plummeted to record lows within one segment of the population: the US military.
Only 15 percent of active-duty service members approve of Mr. Obama's job as commander-in-chief, according to an annual Military Times survey, and more than half – 55 percent – say they disapprove of his job. The president has never been a very popular commander-in-chief among troops, but these numbers reflect a record low for Obama. His first year in office he enjoyed a relatively high 35-percent approval rating.

North Korea threatens strikes on "the whole U.S. mainland, that cesspool of terrorism."

This would be amusing is North Korea didn't have nuclear weapons.  Unless something changes fast, we will be in the same boat with Iran soon.

SEOUL, South Korea (AP) -- President Barack Obama is "recklessly" spreading rumors of a Pyongyang-orchestrated cyberattack of Sony Pictures, North Korea says, as it warns of strikes against the White House, Pentagon and "the whole U.S. mainland, that cesspool of terrorism."
Such rhetoric is routine from North Korea's massive propaganda machine during times of high tension with Washington. But a long statement from the powerful National Defense Commission late Sunday also underscores Pyongyang's sensitivity at a movie whose plot focuses on the assassination of its leader Kim Jong Un, who is the beneficiary of a decades-long cult of personality built around his family dynasty.

Did you sign up for Obamacare? Have a Christmas surprise...

Once they get their hooks in you, they think they own you.

Washington Times:
It seems CMS is taking a page from Jonathan Gruber’s book; rather than allowing the “stupid” masses to make a decision on their own health plan, CMS has proposed a new rule that includes an overly reaching provision allowing CMS to re-enroll anyone who has not made the annual trek back to healthcare.gov in a cheaper plan of CMS’ choosing.
That’s right, the government will choose your plan, perhaps limit access to your doctor, and ultimately make the decision on what is “best” for you.
Not to worry, just like Lady Justice, who wears a blindfold when determining guilt or innocence, CMS will use a blindfold to pick your plan. The agency will select your plan without knowing your medical history. They will do so without knowing if you are currently undergoing treatment or working with a specific doctor. They will do so without knowing your financial status. Despite the fact that the millions of people who already enrolled chose the plan that they believed was best for them.
CMS has laid the perfect trap: Sign up at healthcare.gov one time in your life and we will never let you go. If you don’t continually re-enroll each and every year, CMS will keep you on the plan that it chooses because, after all, CMS knows what’s best and they always make the best decision. Oh, and if you don’t believe that, please go to the 600 million dollar website that will give you all kinds of testimonials handcrafted by MIT professors.

Raul Castro claims better relations with U.S. won't change Cuban system...

Somebody tell me why we are doing this again.
HAVANA (AP) - Cuban President Raul Castro sent a blunt message to Washington Saturday as the White House works to reverse a half-century of hostility between the U.S. and Cuba: Don't expect detente to do away with the communist system.
Castro's speech to Cuba's National Assembly was a sharp counterpoint to the message U.S. President Barack Obama gave in his year-end news conference the day before. Obama reiterated that by engaging directly with the Cuban people, Americans are more likely to encourage reform in Cuba's one-party system and centrally planned economy.
"We must not expect that in order for relations with the United States to improve, Cuba will abandon the ideas that it has struggled for," Castro said.

Hammer time: Obama's NLRB let's McDonald's have it...

Obama's NLRB is backing his union buddies.
In a significant victory for fast-food demonstrators, the Obama administration filed 13 legal complaints on Friday against McDonald’s USA, LLC, alleging 78 instances in which it violated federal labor law by punishing workers for taking part in fast food protests.
The complaints allege that the company and its franchisees retaliated against protesters by reducing their hours or firing them. It’s illegal to retaliate against any worker for “concerted activities” to protest workplace conditions, even when no union organizing takes place — which was almost always the case in the fast food protests.

Meet the main architect of the deal reached with Cuba

It the progressive in the middle of the above picture...

Via WFB:
Hillary Clinton was the main architect of the deal reached with Cuba and her advocacy toward opening a new relationship with the Castro regime began almost immediately when she became secretary of state, according to a report from Bloomberg’s Josh Rogin.
From 2009 until her departure in early 2013, Clinton and her top aides took the lead on the sometimes public, often private interactions with the Cuban government. According to current and former White House and State Department officials and several Cuba policy experts who were involved in the discussions, Clinton was also the top advocate inside the government for ending travel and trade restrictions on Cuba and reversing 50 years of U.S. policy to isolate the Communist island nation. Repeatedly, she pressed the White House to move faster and faced opposition from cautious high-ranking White House officials. […]
Clinton’s advocacy on behalf of opening a new relationship with Cuba began almost as soon as she came into office. Obama had campaigned on a promise to engage enemies, but the White House initially was slow to make good on that pledge, and on the Cuba front enacted only a modest relaxation of travel rules. From the start, Clinton pushed to hold Obama to his promise with regard to Cuba.

In all, five of the 15 E-Z Pass states have some kind of rules on the books for breaking the speed limit in the convenience lanes.
"You can lose your E-Z Pass privileges if you speed through E-Z Pass lanes," says Dan Weiller, director of communications for the New York State Thruway Authority. "You get a couple of warnings. We don't have the power to give a ticket, but we do have to power to revoke your E-Z Pass, which we will."
He and tolling officials in several other states say the issue is the safety of human toll collectors. "At most toll barriers, we have a mix of E-Z Pass lanes and standard toll lanes," Weiller says.

Good News: DHS wants to build a better fence...

Unfortunately, it's not on the southern border. It's around the White House.

Via Breitbart:
The Department of Homeland Security released an executive summary of its report on the Secret Service moments ago. The report recommends that the U.S. government replace the entire fence surrounding the perimeter of the White House.
The report was drafted after a fence-jumper made it into the White House in September, prompting a congressional hearing and the resignation of Secret Service Director Julia Pierson.
Officials for the DHS declined to say in the report “precisely what the optimal new fence should look like,” but offered some suggestions.
“A number of common-sense improvements should be explored. For sure, the fence must be taller; even an increase of four or five feet would be materially helpful,” the report reads, calling for the fence to be manipulated to include “curvature outward” at the top of the fence to make it more difficult to scale.

Strange: Texas plumber sells truck. It ends up in hands of Islamist militants in Syria

The moral to this story is take your name and information off a commercial vehicle when you sell it. The FBI should be investigating how this occurred.

Via Galveston Daily News
A local plumber is being flooded with phone calls — and some threats — after a picture of one of his old company vehicles being used by Islamist militants in Syria was posted on Twitter.
The picture was posted online by the Islamic extremist brigade Ansar al-Deen Front, according to a CBS News report. It shows a black pick-up truck with a Mark-1 Plumbing decal on the door and an anti-aircraft gun in the bed.
Mark Oberholtzer, who has owned and operated Mark-1 Plumbing in Texas City for the past 32 years, confirmed it was his pickup truck in the picture. He said he no longer owned the vehicle and had no idea how it ended up in Syria.
Oberholtzer said he traded in the truck to an AutoNation dealership three years ago. He usually takes the decals off his vehicles when he sells them but he left it on this truck with the expectation that AutoNation would remove it.[…]
Oberholtzer said he didn’t know what to do about all the attention he was getting from the picture. He just wanted the public to know that the vehicle was no longer his.
“I just want it to go away, to tell you the truth,” he said. Read more here...

American troops in Iraq engage in combat...

American troops in Iraq engage in combat and kick ISIS butt.

Via Inquistr:
American troops in Iraq had their first actual battle with ISIS troops, after the Islamist militants tried to overrun a base, an encounter that left the ISIS troops decimated and in retreat.
The attack took place near the Ein al-Asad base, which includes close to 100 U.S. military advisers. The U.S. troops, armed with “light and medium weapons,” and were able to inflict casualties against the ISIS fighters, forcing them to retreat, Shafaq News reported. The American troops were also aided by fighter jets, which directed air strikes against the ISIS troops that “silenced their heavy sources of fire.”
“US forces intervened because of ISIS started to come near the base, which they are stationed in so out of self-defense,” said Sheikh Mahmud Nimrawi, a prominent tribal leader.

Time is running out to avoid Obamacare no insurance tax...errr...fine

It's a tax. It's a fine. It's  whatever John Roberts says it is. The amount is $325 per adult or more for 2015.

Via The Hill:
People without insurance are running out of time to avoid the hefty ObamaCare penalties that the IRS will be handing down in 2016.
Consumers face a Feb. 15, 2015, deadline to buy insurance, after which those without coverage could be hit with fines of $325 per adult or 2 percent of family income, whichever is higher.
Uninsured people looking to escape the penalties are turning to the exchanges before they close, while insurance companies and tax preparers are seizing on the looming tax hit as a business opportunity. One recent mass mailer from CareFirst BlueCross BlueShield obtained by The Hill warned potential customers in the Washington, D.C., region that going without health insurance coverage would come with a steep cost.
“When you don’t have health insurance ... you put your financial security at risk,” the mailer states. “That’s because under the new Affordable Care Act legislation, millions of Americans will have to pay an increased penalty tax of at least 2 percent of their income in 2015 if they go uninsured.”

Sony bows down to North Korea...

This a sad day for the motion picture industry and all of America.

Via Variety:
With theater chains defecting en masse, Sony Pictures Entertainment has pulled the planned Christmas Day release of “The Interview.”
In announcing the decision to cancel the holiday debut, Sony hit back at the hackers who threatened movie theaters and moviegoers and who have terrorized the studio and its employees for weeks.
“Those who attacked us stole our intellectual property, private emails and sensitive and proprietary material, and sought to destroy our spirit and our morale – all apparently to thwart the release of a movie they did not like,” the statement reads.
“We are deeply saddened at this brazen effort to suppress the distribution of a movie, and in the process do damage to our company, our employees, and the American public,” it continues. “We stand by our filmmakers and their right to free expression and are extremely disappointed by this outcome.”
The studio did not say it would never release the picture theatrically. Insiders tell Variety that Sony is exploring all options, including offering the picture on premium video-on-demand as a way to recoup at least some of its investment.

Meet the only GOP Senator to vote "yea" for Obama's pro gun control Surgeon General nominee Vivek Hallegere Murthy

Senator Mark Kirk (R-IL)

Here is the roll call for the vote.

Obvious: DNC fund raises off a possible Jeb Bush presidential run...

With all due respect, we don't need another Bush or Clinton in the White House in 2017.

Via The Hill
The Democratic National Committee is fundraising off former Gov. Jeb Bush’s (R-Fla.) announcement that he will “actively explore” a White House run, by trying to tie him to the policies of his brother, former President George W. Bush.
“Jeb Bush is starting to run for president,” the DNC said in an email to supporters hours after his announcement. “Think about how President Bush worked out last time.”
The email included a photo of his brother, with links encouraging supporters to chip in between $3 and $100 to “help Democrats beat” Jeb Bush.
Bush announced early Tuesday that he will form a leadership PAC next month to “help me facilitate conversations with citizens across America to discuss the most critical challenges facing our exceptional nation.”
Bush, who posted his announcement on Facebook, wrote about his “thoughtful consideration of the kind of strong leadership I think America needs” and his desire for “a conversation about restoring the promise of America.”
Democrats quickly seized on the announcement, arguing that the former Florida governor will champion the economic policies of his father and brother, both former presidents.

Chart of the Day: Obama's Memorandums...

Liberal pundits love to claim Barack Obama hasn't issued any more EO's than other Presidents. That is technically true, although many of his EO's have been more significant in scope. EO's are the method Obama prefers for usurping the power of Congress. Obama prefers to just issue a meme. He hasn't actually issued an EO for his illegal immigration amnesty program. It's being implemented by memos.

Ambush: Obama's NLRB changes union election rules...

The new rules will allow unions to get a vote before the company has has time to properly react. also, the company could be required to give employee's addresses and emails to union organizers.

 Via Washington Examiner
The NLRB said businesses now have seven days after the board authorizes a workplace election to raise any concerns. It strictly limited the objections employers could raise and said the board’s regional administrators could defer questions about which workers should be allowed to vote until after the election.
The rule, which unions had long wanted, would allow most union elections to be held about two weeks after they are sanctioned, a process that currently can take months. Businesses typically used the interim period to make the case to their workers that unionizing wasn’t in their best interests. Under the new rule, businesses will have little time to do this.
The NLRB also required companies to turn over employee contact information to unions, including personal cell phone numbers and email addresses, regardless of whether the workers authorized the disclosure.

Russia hikes interest rates from 10.5 percent to 17 percent...

Low oil prices and sanctions are taking their toll.

Via Bloomberg:
Russia took its biggest step yet to shore up the ruble and defuse the currency crisis threatening its stricken economy.
In a surprise announcement just before 1 a.m. in Moscow, the Russian central bank said it would raise its key interest rate to 17 percent from 10.5 percent, effective today. The move was the largest single increase since 1998, when Russian rates soared past 100 percent and the government defaulted on debt.
The ruble lost 2.5 percent to 66.0985 against the dollar as of 12:53 p.m., reversing an early gain prompted by the news. Keep on reading...

Twenty GOP Senators voted against Point of Order questioning Constitutionality of Obama's Illegal Immigrant EO (List is here)

Here are their names. Throw them all out of office at the next available election. This is as good a list of RINO's as you can find. These so-called Republican Senators think Obama giving de facto amnesty to millions of illegal immigrants against the explicit wishes of Congress and American votes is perfectly fine.

Note: Don't be confused by the Bills title at the GovTrack site. This was another sleight of hand where they took a completely unrelated bill, gutted it, and replaced it with the budget resolution. The explanation is here.https://www.govtrack.us/congress/bills/113/hr83

Note: It is strange 20 Republicans voted against the attempt to call out Obama's illegal immigration EO as unconstitutional. Some have speculated they did it in a petty fit of rage because Cruz forced them to work weekends. My guess is they are just RINOs being RINOs and have no intention to seriously fight Obama over his illegal immigration EO or any other serious issue next year.

Senate passes cromnibus bill 56/40

Twenty-four Republicans voted for the bill.  You can see how your Senator voted here.
The Senate voted 56-40 late Saturday evening to pass a $1.1 trillion spending package that funds most of the government through next September.
The vote culminates a week of acrimonious sniping and sends the spending bill to President Obama’s desk for a signature.
The debate exposed divisions within the Democratic and Republican caucuses on both sides of the Capitol and sets the stage for what could be a year of internecine squabbling in 2015. Twenty-one Senate Democrats voted against the bill while 24 Republicans voted for it, including every member of the Senate GOP leadership.
Democratic opponents included several senators rumored to have presidential ambitions such as Elizabeth Warren (Mass.), Cory Booker (N.J.), Amy Klobuchar (Minn.) and Kirsten Gillibrand (N.Y.)
The package includes 11 appropriations bills that fund most of the government through Sept. 30 and a continuing resolution (CR) funding the Department of Homeland Security (DHS) through Feb. 27.
It nearly died in the House this week after Warren, a rising star among her party’s liberal base, urged House Democrats to oppose it because of language repealing a key provision of the 2010 Wall Street Reform Act.

Mayor de Blasio didn't get permits to build his privacy fence around Gracie Mansion

Rules and laws are for the little people...

Via NY Post:
Mayor de Blasio failed to secure the proper permits to build his “privacy fence” around Gracie Mansion — and the Parks Department is now scrambling to file the paperwork after the fact, City Hall officials admitted Friday.
On Thursday, The Post exclusively reported that the mayor ordered the construction of a roughly 10-foot-tall fence inside an existing 6-foot brick wall to keep the public’s prying eyes out of his yard.
Officials couldn’t say whether any employees of the Parks Department, which handled the construction for the mayor, would be disciplined for building the barrier without first obtaining the alteration permits they needed.

Guess which racial huckster, who won't play his taxes, has visited Obama's White House 61 times

If you guessed Rev. Al, we have a winner...

Via NRO:
This, the tail end of 2014, is Al Sharpton’s moment.
Despite the firebrand minister’s shrinking physical stature, his presence on the national stage has never loomed larger. From Ferguson to Cleveland to Staten Island, black men dying at the hands of police have catapulted America’s racial obsession to new heights — carrying Sharpton along with it.
He stands solemnly with Michael Brown’s family at televised press conferences. He appears alongside Eric Garner’s grieving widow on Meet the Press. He delivers nightly sermons on race from his prime-time perch at MSNBC. Though the rehabilitation is far from perfect, it’s a far cry from the days of Tawana Brawley, Freddie’s Fashion Mart, and “white interlopers.”
How to explain the strange new respect accorded to Sharpton? Start with the White House.
Considered politically toxic by Bill Clinton and George W. Bush, Sharpton has been enthusiastically embraced by President Obama. He has bragged about helping to pick a new attorney general and communed with the current one. In fact, a much-quoted Politico profile last summer described Sharpton as Obama’s “go-to man on race.”

School officials resort to giving away prizes to get kids to eat Michelle Obama's crappy lunches...

The House GOP voted to fund Michelle Obama's crappy lunch program for almost another year. Way to go guys and gals.

Via EAG News
School officials in Jefferson County, Colorado felt like they had to do something to save the school’s lunch program after a significant drop in participation last year because of new federal regulations championed by First Lady Michelle Obama.
So, they’re bribing kids to buy lunch.
Devinny Elementary School first grader Anna Ketzer was one of three students who won a brand new bicycle, 9News.com reports.
“I was very excited to hear that,” she told the news station, adding that she gets her food from the cafeteria because “I don’t have to make my lunch.”
Her prize comes from Jeffco Public Schools’ new “Hungry to Win” raffle for students who buy their lunch at school. After a 6 percent decline in lunch sales last year, district officials came up with the promotion to bring students back to the lunch room. With each lunch they buy, students are entered to win a range of prizes, from jump ropes, kites, iTunes gift cards or movie tickets, to grand prizes like bicycles and iPods, according to the news site.
“With all the new regulations and the changes that we’ve made, our lunch participation has gone down,” lunch facilitator Lori Burris told 9News. “So, this was to be an incentive to try school lunch and bring them back.”[…]

Obama Confession: ‘I Spend Most of My Time Watching ESPN in the Morning’

Man of the people alert: Mayor Bill de Blasio has privacy fence built around Gracie Mansion.

Mayor Bill de Blasio is a flaming hypocrite.

Via NY Post:
Mayor Bill de Blasio, a self-declared progressive “man of the people,” has erected a massive new “privacy fence” to keep his constituents from looking in on Gracie Mansion.
The new fence — constructed just inside an existing red brick wall and a wrought-iron fence ringing the historic property — was actually dubbed a “privacy fence” by de Blasio and first lady Chirlane McCray, sources told The Post.
“So much for being mayor of the people. That brick fence was good enough for Rudy Giuliani and his family, and for Ed Koch and all the mayors before him,” a law enforcement source said.
Sources said the increasingly thin-skinned mayor demanded the extension because he was sick of nosy people in Carl Schurz Park peeping in while he hung out in the yard.

Feel Good Story: Cop delivers food to woman who shoplifted food for kids...

Yes. There are still some good guys in blue uniforms.

Via Daily Mail:
The compassion shown by Officer William Stacy to desperate Alabama mother Helen Johnson captured the nation’s attention at a time of strained relations between the police and black Americans.
Instead of arresting her for stealing five eggs to feed her starving family on Saturday, Stacy bought the carton and the touching hug they shared afterwards caught on video by a stunned passer-by went viral.
But it got even better on Wednesday when Officer Stacy and some colleagues arrived at 47-year-old Johnson’s home with two truckloads of food to keep her and her children and grandchildren fed through Christmas.

Obvious: Demo Rep. claims Democrats got “virtually everything” they wanted in the cromnibus bill

It still wasn't good enough for liberals...

Via NRO:
Retiring Representative Jim Moran (D., Va.) said that Democrats got “virtually everything” they wanted in the cromnibus package, as he praised the bill in terms that could double as the conservative critique of the legislation.
Moran said that “the Republicans are indicating they need 80 Democrats” and he’s frustrated that Democrats won’t provide the votes.
“In 20 years of being on the appropriations [committee], I haven’t seen a better compromise in terms of Democratic priorities. Implementing the Affordable Care Act, there’s a lot more money for early childhood development — the only priority that got cut was the EPA but we gave them more money than the administration asked for,” Moran told reporters Thursday evening after exiting a Democratic caucus meeting in which White House chief of staff Denis McDonough tried to convince members to back the bill.
“There were 26 riders that were extreme and would have devastated the Environmental Protection Agency in terms of the Clean Water and Clean Air Act administration; all of those were dropped,” Moran continued. ”There were only two that were kept and they wouldn’t have been implemented this fiscal year. So, we got virtually everything that the Democrats tried to get.”
Moran warned Democrats that if the cromnibus failed, Republicans would be able to run over Democrats next year when they control the House and Senate.

ObamaCare ads are coming to receipts...

Propaganda...

Via The Hill:
ObamaCare ads will now appear on 7-Eleven receipts at more than 7,000 stores nationwide as government health officials expand their outreach in the second year of healthcare sign-ups.
Information about ObamaCare sign-ups will appear on the bottom of receipts for anyone using an mobile payment company called PayNearMe, which allows bank-less customers to pay in stores like 7-Eleven and Family Dollar.
Health and Human Services (HHS) Secretary Sylvia Mathews Burwell announced the new partnership with the tech start-up PayNearMe on Thursday at a store in Washington, D.C.
