DNC vice chair resigns, supports Sanders...

There is no room for dissent in the DNC...
Democratic National Committee vice chair and Hawaii Rep. Tulsi Gabbard is stepping down from her post at the DNC and throwing her weight behind Bernie Sanders’ presidential campaign.
“First of all, I am resigning from the DNC so I can support Bernie Sanders for president,” Gabbard said early Sunday during NBC’s “Meet the Press” panel.
Gabbard, one of the first two female combat veterans to ever serve in Congress, stressed the importance of a leader with a “military mindset,” which she described as a candidate who knows “importantly, when we don’t use [U.S.] military power.”

Obvious: DNC fund raises off a possible Jeb Bush presidential run...

With all due respect, we don't need another Bush or Clinton in the White House in 2017.

Via The Hill
The Democratic National Committee is fundraising off former Gov. Jeb Bush’s (R-Fla.) announcement that he will “actively explore” a White House run, by trying to tie him to the policies of his brother, former President George W. Bush.
“Jeb Bush is starting to run for president,” the DNC said in an email to supporters hours after his announcement. “Think about how President Bush worked out last time.”
The email included a photo of his brother, with links encouraging supporters to chip in between $3 and $100 to “help Democrats beat” Jeb Bush.
Bush announced early Tuesday that he will form a leadership PAC next month to “help me facilitate conversations with citizens across America to discuss the most critical challenges facing our exceptional nation.”
Bush, who posted his announcement on Facebook, wrote about his “thoughtful consideration of the kind of strong leadership I think America needs” and his desire for “a conversation about restoring the promise of America.”
Democrats quickly seized on the announcement, arguing that the former Florida governor will champion the economic policies of his father and brother, both former presidents.

MSNBC and DNC caught coordinating message...

Is anyone really surprised?
(Politico) — Here’s an example of how political marketing works in the Internet era…
At 9:00 a.m., MSNBC.com publishes an “exclusive first look” at a new video from the Democratic National Committee, in which Vice President Joe Biden urges Dems to stand up for voting rights.
At 9:04 a.m., the Democratic National Committee’s communications director retweets MSNBC’s tweets about the article and, over the course of the next hour, tweets more links to the MSNBC article. Other DNC operatives do the same.
At 9:23 a.m., the Democratic National Committee sends a blast email to reporters promoting the piece. There’s no additional language here: just an embedded video and the text of the article, copy and pasted.
In other words, the DNC had a video it wanted to promote. But knowing how often reporters overlook or ignore press releases, the DNC likely figured the video would have more reach — and seem more legitimate — if a news organization was already reporting on it. In MSNBC, a liberal outlet, it found a receptive audience.

Sad: DNC defaulting on convention loan; sticks Duke Energy for $10 million

Anybody dumb enough to guarantee a DNC loan is getting what they deserve.  Is is sad democrats won't pay their bills.
The Democratic National Committee has no plans to repay Duke Energy for an unprecedented $10 million line of credit it guaranteed to help the Democratic convention’s local host committee put on President Obama’s three-day nominating convention in Charlotte, N.C., last September.

A Duke company official said the company was claiming the money as a business expense for tax purposes, meaning shareholders will foot $6 million of the cost, according to a report in the Charlotte Observer.

The large loan and the secrecy surrounding it have government watchdog groups deeply concerned. They say the arrangement raises serious conflict-of-interest issues for Mr. Obama and challenges his claim to be committed to disclosure and transparency.

Since guaranteeing the loan, Duke Energy previously had refused to disclose the payment terms or when it would come due. At the end of January a Duke Energy spokesman referred all questions about the loan to Dan Murrey, a surgeon in Charlotte who was chairman of the convention host committee.

Fail: Obama does not address problem of over 8% unemployment in DNC speech

What's Obama's jobs plan?

Via BuzzFeed:
President Barack Obama’s acceptance speech at the Democratic National Convention Thursday night didn’t include language targeted at the nation’s unemployed.
Despite boilerplate language about the job losses four years ago and his plans to create jobs, Obama did not specifically address the millions of Americans still struggling to find a job or a job that meets their needs.
Obama’s speech also avoided any mention of the unemployment rate, which is still above 8 percent and fell in August because 368,000 Americans left the workforce. Obama was briefed on the August jobs report yesterday afternoon, hours before he took the stage in Charlotte.
Barack Obama's speech got low marks.

Ann Coulter wins amusing DNC tweet contest...

Shock Video: DNC Delegates willing to ban corporate profits

Socialism anyone?

Where is Al Gore?

Reportedly, the Goracle has his panties in a bunch and is boycotting the DNC convention.

Via The Daily:
Al Gore is boycotting the Democratic National Convention because he doesn’t get along with President Obama and is disappointed that Obama hasn’t pushed harder for a cap-and-trade law that would force Americans to use less fossil fuels, sources tell Flash.
While tens of thousands of Democrats from across the country are gathered in Charlotte, N.C., Gore stayed in New York to cover the convention for his struggling Current TV channel. “Gore was not treated respectfully by the Obama team. He’s snubbing them, because they snubbed him,” said one Democratic fundraiser.

Former President Bill Clinton has been given an active role in Obama’s re-election effort, and was given a prime-time slot to speak just before Obama accepted his nomination last night. But Clinton’s running mate, a winner of the Nobel Peace Prize, has been an invisible man.

Sandra Fluke claims Paul Ryan would “would allow pregnant women to die preventable deaths in our emergency rooms,”

Sandra Fluke couldn't be less credible is she had worn a giant vagina suit during the speechhttp://www.lifenews.com/2012/09/05/sandra-fluke-ryan-would-allow-women-to-die-in-emergency-rooms/.
Pro-abortion activist Sandra Fluke accused Paul Ryan of supporting a bill that “would allow pregnant women to die preventable deaths in our emergency rooms,” an attack on Ryan’s pro-life views.

Speaking to the Democratic National Convention, Fluke pushed her pro-abortion views saying Mitt Romney and Ryan’s pro-life views would be bad for the country.

“In that America, your new president could be a man who stands by when a public figure tries to silence a private citizen with hateful slurs. Who won’t stand up to the slurs, or to any of the extreme, bigoted voices in his own party,” she claimed. “It would be an America in which you have a new vice president who co-sponsored a bill that would allow pregnant women to die preventable deaths in our emergency rooms.

Amusing Video: Reason TV Interviews DNC Delegates About "Choice"

DNC Delegates are pro choice on abortion, but that's where it ends.

Amusing: DNC adds God, Jerusalem back to platform; delegates boo...

It took three voice votes for the chair to declare the amendments passed. In all honesty, the "nos" had it. Hopefully, we will see this in a GOP ad soon.

(CNN) - Democrats voted to update their party's platform Wednesday evening at their convention to include a reference to Jerusalem being the capital of Israel, as well as the insertion of the word "God," neither of which was included in their platform this year but was in previous platforms. The change, proposed by Ohio Gov. Ted Strickland immediately after the convention was gaveled into order on Wednesday, required a two-thirds voice vote, but was declared as adopted after three voice votes which brought delegates to their feet, shouting their yeas and nays. Democratic sources told CNN prior to the vote that it was to take place by acclamation.

Amusing: Top Solyndra Figure runs for door at DNC after being spotted by ABC News cameras

I wonder why the DNC doesn't want to be associated with Solyndra?

Via ABC News:
The Obama campaign rolled out the red carpet this week for a former top Energy Department official who was at the center of the ill-fated government loan to Solyndra, a California solar panel firm that wound up in bankruptcy.

Steven J. Spinner joined other top fundraisers for a VIP tour of the Democratic National Convention floor in Charlotte Monday evening, posing and waving for a photographer while standing behind the podium. When he saw ABC News cameras, however, he ran for the exit.

DNC 2012 Platform doesn't mention raising taxes on those making over $250,000

Democrats promise to not raise taxes on families making under $250,000, but there is no pledge to raise taxes on anyone.  Here are the results of a query for the word "raise" in the DNC Platform.

We've already made historic progress. States have more flexibility to raise standards...
they'll raise taxes on the middle class and gut our investments in education
we have helped states and territories develop comprehensive plans to raise standards
To that end, the President challenged and encouraged states to raise their standards
we are committed to extending the middle class tax cuts for the 98 percent of American families who make less than $250,000 a year, and we will not raise taxes on them.
President Obama signed into law changes to help entrepreneurs raise capital
We will raise the minimum wage
The President signed into law changes to help President looked out for small businesses entrepreneurs raise capital
grants to states to raise standards
we must raise the minimum wage
Mitt Romney would raise taxes on low- and middle-income Americans
The administration will not put aside our differences but will raise them directly with the Russian government.
American diplomats must raise the issue wherever harassment or abuse arises
A query for the word "increase' also fails to yield a pledge to raise any taxes. Of course Obamacare contains many taxes which have not all taken effect yet. The promise to not raise taxes on families making less than $250,000 has already been broken by Democrats. The only mention of raising taxes in the DNC Platform is the false claim Mitt Romney will raise taxes on the middle class to fund tax cuts for the rich. President Obama must be heartbroken at the DNC Platform not mentioning his signature tax plan of sticking it to small business owners who make $250,000 or more. Of course, Obama couldn't get that tax plan through Congress when Democrats held an overwhelming majority in the House and a filibuster-proof majority in the Senate. We all know Democrats want to raise taxes. They are just to chicken to put it in the Platform.

Amusing: Democrats praying for rain so they can move Obama speech to smaller arena..

70,000 people dumb enough to attend an Obama speech are hard to come by nowadays...

Via Daily Mail:
Democrats are poised to avoid the danger of President Barack Obama accepting his party’s nomination before a partially-empty stadium by shifting his speech to an indoor arena and citing ‘severe weather’.

The Obama campaign have been working desperately to ensure that the 74,000-seater Bank of America stadium in Charlotte would be filled.

Buses for students from across North Carolina and even members of black churches in neighboring South Carolina have been arranged.

Footage of rows of empty seats at the stadium, home of the Carolina Panthers, as Obama speaks on Thursday night would be politically disastrous – an enduring image of the contrast between his campaign of ‘hope’ and ‘change’ in 2008 and his dour, negative struggle for re-election in 2012.

Now, it looks like the weather has come to the President's rescue.
