Change: “On a mission for both God and Country” too politically incorrect to be used for Army recruiting...

Can we roll the calender back on political correctness?

Via The Washington Times:
A poster with the message “On a mission for both God and Country” on display outside a recruiting station in Phoenix was removed Friday morning after it was brought to the attention of the the Army Recruiting Command.
The poster features a Special Forces patch and Ranger, Airborne, and Special Forces tabs with a “stock image” the command makes available for local recruiters to use, “but the text was changed by the local recruiting personnel,” and not cleared by command headquarters, spokesman Brian Lepleytold the Army Times on Friday.
“Had the process been followed, the copy shown would not have been approved,” Mr. Lepley added.

Amusing: DNC adds God, Jerusalem back to platform; delegates boo...

It took three voice votes for the chair to declare the amendments passed. In all honesty, the "nos" had it. Hopefully, we will see this in a GOP ad soon.

(CNN) - Democrats voted to update their party's platform Wednesday evening at their convention to include a reference to Jerusalem being the capital of Israel, as well as the insertion of the word "God," neither of which was included in their platform this year but was in previous platforms. The change, proposed by Ohio Gov. Ted Strickland immediately after the convention was gaveled into order on Wednesday, required a two-thirds voice vote, but was declared as adopted after three voice votes which brought delegates to their feet, shouting their yeas and nays. Democratic sources told CNN prior to the vote that it was to take place by acclamation.

New DNC Platform: God and Jerusalem go under the bus

God is not mentioned in the New DNC platform. They also dropped a statement naming Jerusalem as the Capital of Israel.

CHARLOTTE - For Democrats, there is no God in 2012 - at least as far as the party's platform is concerned.
Nor is there a Jerusalem
Democrats removed those two words, and the passages surrounding them, from the 2012 party platform as it was released this week.
In Charlotte on Monday, the Democratic National Committee released its 2012 party platform after the DNC Platform Committee approved it under the leadership of Newark, N.J., Mayor Cory Booker. The Platform Drafting Committee, led by Ohio Gov. Ted Strickland, gathered feedback for an initial draft in Minneapolis over the summer.
Gone are three sentences identifying Jerusalem as the capital of Israel, now and forever. There is no mention of Jerusalem in the 2012 document, after the 2008 version included this mention: Keep on reading...

Insanity: National Cemetery Tells Volunteers To Quit Saying “God bless you” At Funerals

Wreaths Across America

Is there something in the water? Have liberals gone insane?
(Chron) — Local veterans and volunteer groups are accusing Department of Veterans Affairs officials of censoring religious speech — including banning the word “God” — at Houston National Cemetery.

In one example cited in documents filed this week in federal court, cemetery director Arleen Ocasio reportedly told volunteers with the National Memorial Ladies that they had to stop telling the families, “God bless you,” at funerals and that they had to remove the words “God bless” from condolence cards.

The new allegations of “religious hostility” by VA and cemetery officials follow on the heels of a controversy over a prayer in Jesus’ name by Pastor Scott Rainey at a Memorial Day service in the cemetery.
The complaint accuses VA of “a widespread and consistent practice of discriminating against private religious speech” at the cemetery.

Ocasio is on vacation and could not be reached for comment. Her assistant, Amanda Rhodes, said the cemetery had no comment.

Newsweek editor Evan Thomas calls Obama "sort of God"

Here is another example of the blatant bias and adulation the "Main Stream Media" has for Barack Obama,
From NewsBusters:
Newsweek editor Evan Thomas brought adulation over President Obama’s Cairo speech to a whole new level on Friday, declaring on MSNBC: "I mean in a way Obama’s standing above the country, above – above the world, he’s sort of God."

From the video:
THOMAS: ... Obama is 'we are above that now.' We're not just parochial, we're not just chauvinistic, we're not just provincial. We stand for something - I mean in a way Obama's standing above the country, above - above the world, he's sort of God. He's-

MATTHEWS: Yeah.

THOMAS: He's going to bring all different sides together.
