Wyoming high school cancels 'America Day'
I thought people in Wyoming were smarter than this. Hopefully, they are and the person responsible will be fired.
What’s the last place in the nation you’d expect a ban on patriotism? Well, a Wyoming high school canceled the school’s homecoming tradition of America Day for fear some kids might feel shut out.
Whaddaya know, seniors and juniors of Jackson Hole High School protested — then went ahead and cloaked themselves in American flags and stars and stripes anyway. Good on ya, kids.
Mike Hansen, the school’s activities director, said he wasn’t opposed to the students being patriotic. But a meeting with the student council had convinced him not all students felt American, and thus felt “targeted and singled out by this day.”
“We’re trying to balance many different things here,” he said. “We’re trying to be inclusive and safe, make everyone feel welcome.”

Political Correctness Update: Government to stop calling midget raisins "midget" after compliant...
Insanity...
Via Free Beacon:
Via Free Beacon:
The U.S. Department of Agriculture (USDA) issued a regulation on Thursday to stop referring to midget raisins as “midget” after an activist group called the term offensive.
The USDA’s Agricultural Marketing Service (AMS) issued the proposed rule, announcing the U.S. “Standards for Grades of Processed Raisins” would eliminate all five times the word midget is used. Midget has long been used to describe the differences in sizes of California raisins.
“The action would clarify AMS grade standards by eliminating the use of the term ‘midget,’ while consistently using the term ‘small’ for raisins graded in that category,” the USDA said in the proposed rule. “The industry has used the two grade terms interchangeably for years. The proposed grade standards would be applied uniformly by all handlers.”
“These changes would modernize and clarify the standards by removing dual terminology for the same requirement,” the agency said.
The government said the change was prompted by a request from the Little People of America, a nonprofit membership organization for people of short stature.

Obama's DoD: Bible, Constitution, Declaration Of Independence Are Sexist
Well, Obama hates all three of these documents.
Via Daily Caller:
Via Daily Caller:
According to a Defense Department-approved “sexism course,” the Bible, the U.S. Constitution and the Declaration of Independence all contribute to modern sexism.
Those three cherished texts all count as “historical influences that allow sexism to continue,” according to a presentation prepared by the Defense Equal Opportunity Management Institute, whose mission is to give a ”world-class human relations education.”

School calls military style haircut extreme...
Can we ban liberal school administrators? The dipsh*ts made the boy shave his head.
Via Daily Caller:
Via Daily Caller:
A second grader in McMinneville, Tennessee has been forced to shave his head after his principal said his “military” haircut wouldn’t be allowed in class.
According to Adam Stinnet’s parents, the seven-year-old boy got a “high and tight” haircut to imitate his brother, a soldier in the Army who has served in Afghanistan. Just one day later, on March 9, the family received a letter from the principal saying the boy’s new look violated a school rule against “mohawk haircuts and other extreme cuts.”
His parents disagreed and sent Adam to school again without cutting his hair. This time, his mother, Amy, was summoned to meet the principal in person, and was told that until Adam’s hairdo changed, he would not be allowed back in class.
Deciding that the hair wasn’t worth having Adam suspended, Amy decided to give in.
“I did shave his head,” Stinnett said Thursday, according to the Army Times. “With no hair, he looks sick all the time.”

Change: “On a mission for both God and Country” too politically incorrect to be used for Army recruiting...
Image: Religious Freedom Foundation
Can we roll the calender back on political correctness?
Via The Washington Times:
A poster with the message “On a mission for both God and Country” on display outside a recruiting station in Phoenix was removed Friday morning after it was brought to the attention of the the Army Recruiting Command.
The poster features a Special Forces patch and Ranger, Airborne, and Special Forces tabs with a “stock image” the command makes available for local recruiters to use, “but the text was changed by the local recruiting personnel,” and not cleared by command headquarters, spokesman Brian Lepleytold the Army Times on Friday.
“Had the process been followed, the copy shown would not have been approved,” Mr. Lepley added.

Duke University will do weekly call to prayer for Muslims on Friday's
Political correctness gone wild...
DURHAM, N.C. — A weekly call to prayer for Muslims will be heard at Duke University starting Friday, school officials said.
Members of the Duke Muslim Students Association will chant the call, known as adhan or azan, from the Duke Chapel bell tower each Friday at 1 p.m. The call to prayer will last about three minutes and be “moderately amplified,” officials said in a statement Tuesday.
“The adhan is the call to prayer that brings Muslims back to their purpose in life, which is to worship God, and serves as a reminder to serve our brothers and sisters in humanity,” said Imam Adeel Zeb, Muslim chaplain at Duke. “The collective Muslim community is truly grateful and excited about Duke’s intentionality toward religious and cultural diversity.”
In majority Muslim countries across the globe, the adhan is broadcast from mosques and on television and radio stations five times a day to correspond with prayer times. On Fridays, the day of worship in Islam, sermons are also broadcast.

Stupid: Pentagon changes “unlawful enemy combatants” to “unprivileged enemy belligerents”
WTF?
Via FAS:
Via FAS:
When it comes to Department of Defense doctrine on military treatment of detained persons, “unlawful enemy combatants” are a thing of the past. That term has been retired and replaced by “unprivileged enemy belligerents” in a new revision of Joint Publication 3-13 on Detainee Operations, dated November 13, 2014.
Among other changes, the revised Publication adopts Article 75 of the First Additional Protocol to the Geneva Conventions which provide minimum standards for humane treatment of detained persons. It also presents expanded discussion of biometric capabilities that are applicable to detainees.
The previous edition of Joint Publication 3-13, published in 2008, is available here for comparison.

Stupid: Teachers to to call kids ‘purple penguins’ instead of ‘boys and girls’
You can't make stuff this stupid up...
Via NRO:
Via NRO:
Nebraska school district has instructed its teachers to stop referring to students by “gendered expressions” such as “boys and girls,” and use “gender inclusive” ones such as “purple penguins” instead.
“Don’t use phrases such as ‘boys and girls,’ ‘you guys,’ ‘ladies and gentlemen,’ and similarly gendered expressions to get kids’ attention,” instructs a training document given to middle-school teachers at the Lincoln Public Schools.
“Create classroom names and then ask all of the ‘purple penguins’ to meet on the rug,” it advises.
The document also warns against asking students to “line up as boys or girls,” and suggests asking them to line up by whether they prefer “skateboards or bikes/milk or juice/dogs or cats/summer or winter/talking or listening.”

Douchebag College Professor Bans Students From Saying “Bless You” After Sneezes…
Where do they find these a-holes?
Via Campus Reform:
Via Campus Reform:
Students enrolled in certain classes at the College of Coastal Georgia may want to think twice about coming to class sick—or else their peers may get into trouble.
Dr. Leon Gardner, assistant professor of chemistry at the college, made it clear in his to Introductory Physics class syllabus that he does not tolerate disruptive behavior while he is teaching—and that includes everything from talking to classmates, sharpening a pencil, and to saying “bless you.”
“We are taught that it is polite to say ‘bless you’ when someone sneezes. However, if you say this while I am talking, it is NOT polite, it is very rude,” Gardner’s syllabus, which was provided to Campus Reform via email, states.

Stupid: Bleachers built with parents money for boys' baseball torn down because they were nicer than girls
How did we end up with government officials this stupid micromanaging our lives?
Via The Blaze:
Via The Blaze:
The U.S Education Department’s Office for Civil Rights has forced a school in Michigan to tear down a brand-new set of bleachers for its boys’ varsity baseball team because the new seating is nicer than the girls’ softball bleachers. This proves once again, modern liberalism is a form of insanity.
The raised seating deck for the boys’ baseball team, which was paid for with money raised by parents, was put in place because fans who’d come to watch games at Plymouth High School in Canton, Mich., were having a hard time seeing the game through the chain-link fence WJBK-TV reported.
The parents installed the new bleachers themselves and even added a new scoreboard to the field, the station reported.
But after an investigation by government officials, which was prompted by an anonymous complaint, the school was told it had to remove the new seating because it was “no longer equal” to the adjacent girls’ softball bleachers, which have yet to get a makeover of their own.

This Superbowl Commercial made me swear off Coca Cola forever...
Allen West explains it:
I’m watching the Super Bowl, looks like good defense (Seattle) is trouncing good offense (Denver) when a Coca Cola commercial came on and it started rather patriotically with the words of “America the Beautiful.”
Then the words went from English to languages I didn’t recognize. Now, I know the politically correct thing is to foster multiculturalism — working really well in Europe. [...]
I am quite sure there may some who appreciated the commercial, but Coca Cola missed the mark in my opinion. If we cannot be proud enough as a country to sing “America the Beautiful” in English in a commercial during the Super Bowl, by a company as American as they come — doggone we are on the road to perdition. This was a truly disturbing commercial for me, what say you?

Duck Dynasty patriarch falls victim to LGBT political correctness...
A&E will regret this decision...
A&E has placed Duck Dynasty patriarch Phil Robertson on indefinite hiatus following anti-gay remarks he made in a recent profile in GQ.
"We are extremely disappointed to have read Phil Robertson's comments in GQ, which are based on his own personal beliefs and are not reflected in the series Duck Dynasty," A&E said in a statement. "His personal views in no way reflect those of A+E Networks, who have always been strong supporters and champions of the LGBT community. The network has placed Phil under hiatus from filming indefinitely."
The news comes after Robertson compared homosexuality to bestiality in an interview with the magazine. He'll likely appear in season four, which bows Jan. 15, since production is largely wrapped.
"It seems like, to me, a vagina -- as a man -- would be more desirable than a man's anus," Robertson says in the January issue of the men's magazine. "That's just me. I'm just thinking: There's more there! She's got more to offer. I mean, come on, dudes! You know what I'm saying? But hey, sin: It's not logical, my man. It's just not logical."

Change: Father and Mother Removed From U.S. Department of Education Student Aid Form...
Father and mother have been replaced by “Parent 1” and “Parent 2.” Somehow, it's not the same...
Via Washington Times:
Via Washington Times:
The U.S. Department of Education announced Thursday that beginning with the 2014-2015 federal student aid form, the Department will — for the first time — collect income “from a dependent student’s legal parents regardless of the parents’ marital status or gender, if those parents live together.”
The new FAFSA form will use terms like “Parent 1” and “Parent 2” instead of gender-specific terms like “mother” and “father.”
“All students should be able to apply for federal student aid within a system that incorporates their unique family dynamics,” Secretary of Education Arne Duncan said in a statement. “These changes will allow us to more precisely calculate federal student aid eligibility based on what a student’s whole family is able to contribute and ensure taxpayer dollars are better targeted toward those students who have the most need, as well as provide an inclusive form that reflects the diversity of American families.”

10-year-old California boy was suspended from school for taking tiny Swiss Army knife on camping trip...

Via Todd Starnes:
Via Todd Starnes:
A 10-year-old California boy was suspended and threatened with expulsion after he brought a Swiss Army Knife on a week-long school school camping trip.
Tony Bandermann told Fox News that his son Braden was on a science camping trip with his class at Garden Gate Elementary School in Cupertino, Calif.
According to a school incident report, the boy showed the small knife to other students who then reported him to teachers. The incident report stated that law enforcement was also notified. However, no charges were filed.
Bandermann, who was out-of-town on a business trip, said he received a telephone call from the school’s principal informing him that his son had violated the school’s weapons policy. The punishment, she told him, must be immediate and severe.

Flashback: In 2009, Obama administration purged words like Muslim, Islam, Muslim Brotherhood, Hamas, and sharia from the FBI's counter-terrorism lexicon
No wonder the FBI couldn't recognize Tamerlan Tsarnaev as a potential Islamic terrorist. they had no word to describe one.
Could federal law enforcement’s own training protocol on what they have been defining as “terrorism” be delaying the investigation of what happened in Benghazi, Libya on September 11th? As I pointed out in a previous post, the FBI training manual after a 2011 purge, does not even include the terms “al Qaeda”, “Muslim Brotherhood”, or “jihad.”
PJ Media’s Patrick Poole wrote about the FBI’s denial of the agency’s own departmental counter-terrorism analytical lexicon. However, the agency went silent when Poole posted the official 14 page unclassified booklet. Were the good people of Boston put at risk by runaway political correctness?

US Army now considers Catholics "Religious Extremists"...
Outrageous...
Via Fox News:
Via Fox News:
The U.S. Army listed Evangelical Christianity and Catholicism as examples of religious extremism along with Al Qaeda and Hamas during a briefing with an Army Reserve unit based in Pennsylvania, Fox News has learned.
“We find this offensive to have Evangelical Christians and the Catholic Church to be listed among known terrorist groups,” said Ron Crews, executive director of the Chaplain Alliance for Religious Liberty. “It is dishonorable for any U.S. military entity to allow this type of wrongheaded characterization.”
The incident occurred during an Army Reserve Equal Opportunity training brief on extremism. Topping the list is Evangelical Christianity. Other organizations listed included Catholicism, Al Qaeda, Hamas, the Ku Klux Klan, Sunni Muslims, and Nation of Islam.
The military also listed “Islamophobia” as a form of religious extremism.
