This Superbowl Commercial made me swear off Coca Cola forever...
Allen West explains it:
I’m watching the Super Bowl, looks like good defense (Seattle) is trouncing good offense (Denver) when a Coca Cola commercial came on and it started rather patriotically with the words of “America the Beautiful.”
Then the words went from English to languages I didn’t recognize. Now, I know the politically correct thing is to foster multiculturalism — working really well in Europe. [...]
I am quite sure there may some who appreciated the commercial, but Coca Cola missed the mark in my opinion. If we cannot be proud enough as a country to sing “America the Beautiful” in English in a commercial during the Super Bowl, by a company as American as they come — doggone we are on the road to perdition. This was a truly disturbing commercial for me, what say you?

NJ Gov. Chris Christie booed at Super Bowl event
Change...
Via Politicker:
Via Politicker:
New Jersey Gov. Chris Christie’s “Bridgegate” scandal today followed him all the way across the George Washington Bridge and into New York City.
At a Times Square Super Bowl hand-off ceremony, where Mr. Christie was on hand to pass the figurative baton to Arizona’s governor, who will host the game next year, Mr. Christie was booed both when he was introduced and as he addressed the sports fans gathered.
“We hate traffic! We hate traffic!” a heckler chanted in the back of the crowd.
“Boooooo!” someone else yelled.
Several other journalists reported hearing boos as well.

Chrysler spends millions on Super Bowl ad. Taxpayers lost $1.3 billion on bailout.
Taxpayers lost $1.3 billion on the Chrysler bailout. Chrysler is now spending millions on a Super Bowl ad that doesn't even mention the Chrysler name. The ad, featuring Clint Eastwood, is very emotionally powerful, but I doubt it will sell a single Chrysler.

Anti-Obama group that flew “Impeach Obama” Banner over this year’s Rose Bowl Parade plan to do the same at Super Bowl
I wish them luck, but security restrictions may prevent them from implementing their plan.
“Impeach Obama” Banner May Fly Over Super Bowl
A group of anti-Obama Facebook groups are planning to fly an “Impeach Obama” Banner over this year’s Super Bowl.
The groups, Impeach Obama Tea Party, Stop Obama Now-San Diego, and Boycott Oprah, say they recently flew the banner over the Rose Bowl Parade Jan. 2. Here’s a video:

Demo Congresswoman Upset by Super Bowl Pepsi Commercial
Rep. Sheila Jackson Lee thinks it is demeaning to black women for a black man to look at a white woman or something.
Rep. Sheila Jackson Lee (D-Texas) took to the House floor Tuesday night to criticize what she called a "demeaning" Pepsi ad that aired during the Super Bowl.
In the ad for Pepsi Max, a black woman sitting on a park bench gets angry with her husband after an attractive, white female jogger sits down next to the couple and smiles and waves at the man.
After the man smiles back, his girlfriend or wife gets angry and whips her Pepsi Max can at him. The man ducks, and the can hits the attractive jogger in the head. The ad is titled "Love hurts."

Bill Maher: The NFL is Socialist or Something
At first I thought Bill Maher was just trying to be humorous with this HuffPo piece.
New Rule: With the Super Bowl only a week away, Americans must realize what makes NFL football so great: socialism. That's right, for all the F-15 flyovers and flag waving, football is our most successful sport because the NFL takes money from the rich teams and gives it to the poor teams... just like President Obama wants to do with his secret army of ACORN volunteers. Green Bay, Wisconsin has a population of 100,000. Yet this sleepy little town on the banks of the F*ck-if-I-know River has just as much of a chance of making it to the Super Bowl as the New York Jets - who next year need to just shut the hell up and play. Then, Maher actually tries to score the point.
So, you kind of have to laugh - the same angry white males who hate Obama because he's "redistributing wealth" just love football, a sport that succeeds economically because it does exactly that. To them, the NFL is as American as hot dogs, Chevrolet, apple pie, and a second, giant helping of apple pie. There are several problems with Maher's analogy. Equally distributing the goods is actually communistic, not socialistic. Also, NFL teams are privately owned, own their own logo's, stadium revenue, and local TV contracts. They are like a privately held business cartel. Socialism hating football fans can rest easy and enjoy the Super Bowl.
