Chart of the Day: Ronald Reagan vs. Barack Obama Recovery...

The economy was actually worse when Reagan first took office...
When Ronald Reagan took over from Jimmy Carter in ’81, things were actually worse economically compared to when Obama took over from George W. Bush in ’08.
Consider these three important comparisons of economic indicators, then and now:
- Unemployment was at 10.8% versus 7.7%
- Inflation (Consumer Price Index) was at 13.5% versus 2.7%
- Interest rates (prime rate) was at 21.5% versus 3.25%

Shameful: Bill Maher calls Ronald Reagan “the original teabagger.”

Bill Maher seems obsessed with teabagging. Hmm...

Via Raw Story:
On this week’s “New Rules” segment on “Real Time with Bill Maher,” host Bill Maher warned that today’s whack job Republicans might be bad, but let’s not make the mistake of thinking old Republicans were better. Former Pres. Ronald Reagan, said Maher, was “the original teabagger.”
“New rule,” Maher said, “When Bob Dole, a guy so hardcore Republican his adult diaper has a flag pin, when he says his party has become a bunch of idea-free ideologues who obstruct too much, people should listen.”
But, he continued, they also should kid themselves, as Dole apparently does, that Ronald Reagan couldn’t “make it” in today’s Republican Party.
“This has become kind of a conventional wisdom,” he said, “that the Republican Party has gone so far to the right, Reagan himself wouldn’t fit in. But I’m here tonight to call bullshit on that.”
“Ronald Reagan was an anti-government, union-busting, race-baiting, anti-abortion, anti-gay anti-intellectual who cut rich people’s taxes in half, had an incurable case of the military-industrial complex and said Medicare was socialism that would destroy our freedom. Sounds to me like he would fit in just fine.”

Obama to UAW: “trying to climb to the very top” was not what America is “about,”

Could the contrast be any greater?

Barack Obama:
“America’s not just looking out for yourself, it’s not just about greed, it’s not just about trying to climb to the very top...”

Ronald Reagan:
The American dream is not that every man must be level with every other man. The American dream is that every man must be free to become whatever God intends he should become.
Via CNS:
President Obama – in a speech to the United Auto Workers union – said that “trying to climb to the very top” was not what America is “about,” saying that it was “greed” and that in reality “we’re all in it together.”
“America’s not just looking out for yourself, it’s not just about greed, it’s not just about trying to climb to the very top and keep everybody else down,” Obama said at the UAW’s annual National Community Action Program Legislative Conference in Washington, D.C.
Instead, Obama – who climbed to the very top of American politics just three years ago – said that instead America was about being “all in it together,” and giving people “a hand up.”
“When our assembly lines grind to a halt, we work together, and we get them going again,” he said. “When somebody else falters, we try to give them a hand up, because we know [that] we’re all in it together.”

Flashback: Ronald Reagan Called Gadhafi the “Mad Dog of the Middle East” ( Video)

Muammar Gaddafi has brutally cracked down on his people for trying to oust him as dictator. Hundreds have been killed. President Obama has failed to condemn Gaddafi by name. Obama has proven himself to be a spineless leader who has close ties to Gaddafi. How did a strong leader and believer in freedom and the American way view Muammar Gaddafi? Watch former President Ronald Reagan tell it like it is in this video.

Obama Reads Biography of Ronald Reagan on Christmas Vacation

Ronald Reagan was a great President and a great American. Let's hope President Obama learns something.
(The Hill)- Gibbs, the president’s chief spokesman, didn’t make any major headlines in the 30-minute session, but he confirmed that President Obama was reading a biography of Ronald Reagan by Lou Cannon while vacationing in Hawaii.

WTH? Obama Quotes Reagan?

Unbelievable. President Obama has resorted to quoting Ronald Reagan to try garner support for his START Treaty. There is a huge difference between Reagan and Obama. Americans trusted former President Ronald Reagan.

The Hill reported:
“To ensure that our national security is protected, the United States has an interest in tracking Russia’s nuclear arsenal through a verification effort that puts U.S. inspectors on the ground. As President Reagan said when he signed a nuclear arms treaty with the Soviet Union in 1987, ‘Trust, but verify,’” Obama said.

Video: Ronald Reagan on Socialism

Reagan was very wise.

From the start of the video:
Back in 1927 and American socialist, Norman Thomas, six times candidate on the Socialist Party ticket said The American people will "never vote for socialism," but he said, "under the name of of liberalism, the American people will adopt every fragment of the socialist program."

These words are starting to look prophetic.
