Strange: UN Panel Approves Report Praising Gaddafi’s Human Rights Record

The Libyan people thought so much of his human rights record, they revolted and killed him.
(Fox News) — United Nations panel has adopted a report praising Qaddafi-era Libya for its human rights record, a year after the report was sidelined amid international objection.
The report initially came before the U.N. Human Rights Council in the middle of the uprising against the Muammar Qaddafi regime. At the time, the U.N. had just voted to suspend Libya from the rights council — under pressure to maintain a consistent message toward Libya, the council later postponed consideration of the report.
But the Human Rights Council on Wednesday returned to the document — and approved it.
U.N. Watch Director Hillel Neuer blasted the council for the move, saying the panel should have called a new session entirely to review Qaddafi’s “heinous crimes.”
“The council should have set an example of accountability by acknowledging that its original review was deeply flawed,” he said in a statement, claiming the report served to “falsely praise Qaddafi’s oppressive regime, insult his victims and harm the reputation of the U.N.”

Gaddafi Declared An “Infidel”: No Islamic Burial

As hated as Gaddafi was by the Libyan people, you have to wonder how he stayed in power 42 years.
(ANSAmed) — ROME, OCTOBER 24The Grand Mufti of Libya, Assadiq al-Ghiriani, has stated that Colonel Gaddafi was an “infidel” and for this reason “prayers should not be spoken over his body” in mosques, as is foreseen by Islamic funeral rites, the website of Egyptian daily Al Ahram reports.
According to the Mufti, it is, however, possible to bury the former dictator in a Muslim cemetery, but his body should be washed by family members only: “the only people who can pray for his soul”. In the view of the Grand Mufti, the mortal remains of Colonel Gaddafi should be buried in an unknown place, in order to avoid fomenting divisions between Libyans by “making his tomb a place of pilgrimage”.
Reportedly, rebels sodomized  Muammar Gaddafi with a knife when he was captured.
SIRTE, Libya — An analysis of video obtained by GlobalPost from a rebel fighter who recorded the moment when Col. Muammar Gaddafi was first captured confirms that another rebel fighter, whose identity is unknown, sodomized the former leader as he was being dragged from the drainpipe where he had taken cover.

A frame by frame analysis of this exclusive GlobalPost video clearly shows the rebel trying to insert some kind of stick or knife into Gaddafi's rear end.

RINO's Show Their Horns

Senator Lindsey Graham and Senator John McCain are calling for NATO to assassinate Muammar Gaddafi.
(Telegraph) — Senior western leaders called for Nato to adopt an assassination policy against Col Muammar Gaddafi to salvage the bombing campaign in Libya from a descent into stalemate.

The calls came as Col Gaddafi was reported to have strengthened his grip on power by repatriating billions of dollars in overseas assets that should have been frozen by UN sanctions.

On Sunday, there was growing pressure on Coalition forces to directly target Col Gaddafi with military strikes.

Senator Lindsey Graham, a Republican member of the Senate Armed Services committee, said that the quickest way to end the emerging stalemate was to “cut the head of the snake off”. He said: “The people around Gaddafi need to wake up every day wondering, ‘Will this be my last?’

Senator John McCain, who visited Libya at the weekend, also said that the Libyan dictator should be targeted...
NATO responds?

Reuters reported:
A NATO airstrike flattened a building inside Muammar Gaddafi’s Bab al-Aziziyah compound early Monday, in what a press official from Gaddafi’s government said was an attempt on the Libyan leader’s life.

Muammar Gaddafi accuses West of launching new "crusader war"

The Crusades: The Authoritative History of the War for the Holy Land

Muammar Gaddafi is attempting to paint the air strikes by Western military as a new Crusade.
TRIPOLI Libyan leader Muammar Gaddafi warned the Western powers mounting air strikes on his country they had unleashed a war between Christians and Muslims that could spiral out of control.

Western states intervened in Libya after the United Nations authorized them to protect civilians it said were under attack by pro-Gaddafi forces, but Tripoli says the military intervention in an act of unwarranted aggression.

“If they continue, the world will enter into a real crusader war. They have started something dangerous that cannot be controlled and it will become out of their control,” said a text from Gaddafi, read out on state television.

“The leaders who decided to launch a crusader war between Christians and Muslims across the Mediterranean and who . . . killed. . . huge numbers of civilians in Libya, they have been made crazy by power and they want to impose the law of strength on the strength of the law,” it said.

Is the tide turning for Libyan rebels?

The rebels are advancing and routing Muammar Gaddafi’s troops.
(JPost) — Libyan rebels have entered the oil-exporting town of Ras Lanuf after routing Muammar Gaddafi’s troops further east, a rebel fighter told Reuters on the road to Ras Lanuf.
“There is no Gaddafi army in Ras Lanuf,” said the fighter, Walid al-Arabi, quoting rebels who had returned from the town.
He said he believed the front line was now west of Ras Lanuf.
Earlier Sunday, An Al Jazeera correspondent said the rebels had reached Uqayla, more than 110 kilometers (68 miles) west of Ajdabiyah and the last town traveling west before the major oil exporting terminal of Ras Lanuf.

Gaddafi Ready to Head for the Exit?

Reportedly, Muammar Gaddafi is looking for an exit deal. The opposition isn't interested in a deal. They seem to want his head on a stick.
(Reuters)- Al Jazeera said Gaddafi had proposed to Libyan rebels to hold a meeting of parliament to pave the way for him to step down with certain guarantees.

It said Gaddafi made the proposal to the interim council, which speaks for mostly eastern areas controlled by his opponents. It quoted sources in the council as saying Gaddafi wanted guarantees of personal safety for him and his family and a pledge that they not be put on trial.

Al Jazeera said sources from the council told its correspondent in Benghazi that the offer was rejected because it would have amounted to an "honorable" exit for Gaddafi and would offend his victims.

Obama plans futile gesture in response to Libyan crackdown

Painting of Libyan Leader Colonel Muammar Al-Gaddafi, Tripoli, Tarabulus, Libya Premium Photographic Poster Print by Doug McKinlay, 18x24

Via Politico:
The White House came down hard on Muammar Gaddafi on Friday as it announced sanctions on Libya intended to send the message that the regime needs to stop hurting its people and start listening to them.
The exact nature of the sanctions will not be announced until Monday, but there is little we sell of value to Muammar Gaddafi; except for some aircraft parts and non-lethal military equipment. Lethal hardware is already banned. We currently buy next to nothing in oil from Libya. White House press secretary Jay Carney claims sanctions are effective.
Sanctions on regimes like Libya's "have been shown to have an effect," he said.
Sanctions have been shown to be effective on dictatorial regimes? Well, they worked so well on former Iraqi dictator Saddam Hussein. and they have worked well getting Iran's President Ahmadinejad to abandon his nuclear weapon ambitions.

Flashback: Ronald Reagan Called Gadhafi the “Mad Dog of the Middle East” ( Video)

Muammar Gaddafi has brutally cracked down on his people for trying to oust him as dictator. Hundreds have been killed. President Obama has failed to condemn Gaddafi by name. Obama has proven himself to be a spineless leader who has close ties to Gaddafi. How did a strong leader and believer in freedom and the American way view Muammar Gaddafi? Watch former President Ronald Reagan tell it like it is in this video.

Mind-Exploding Hypocrisy: Ahmadinejad Condemns Gaddafi for Using Violence Against Protesters

Ahmadinejad: The Secret History of Iran's Radical Leader

Iran's Ahmadinejad,
"It's hard to imagine a person who could kill their own people or bombard them..."

Ahmadinejad seems to have forgotten what happened in Iran a little over one year ago.
TEHRAN, Iran – Iranian security forces fired on stone-throwing protesters in the center of the capital Sunday in one of the bloodiest confrontations in months, opposition Web sites and witnesses said.

At least five people — with reports of as many as 10 — were killed.

Obama's Ties To Muammar Gaddafi

Seeking Gaddafi

President Obama's response to the ongoing revolution in Libya has been very muted. He was much more outspoken about Egypt, even though that revolution was fairly peaceful. In contrast, Gaddafi has cracked down brutally and hundreds are dead. Many people are wondering what is the difference? One difference is some of President Obama's buddies have close ties to Col. Gaddafi.
JERUSALEMJeremiah Wright, former pastor of Obama’s longtime Chicago church, went with Farrakhan to visit Gadhafi in 1984.

During the 2008 presidential campaign, Wright himself noted the trip could cause problems for Obama.
“When [Obama's] enemies find out that in 1984 I went to Tripoli to visit [Gadhafi] with Farrakhan, a lot of his Jewish support will dry up quicker than a snowball in hell.”

Farrakhan, a close friend and associate of Wright, has been financed by Gadhafi, including with a $5 million interest-free loan in 1985.

Obama Finally Speaks out on Bloodbath in Libya, Fails to Condemn Gaddafi

President Obama finally speaks out on the bloodshed in Libya, but he fails to condemn Gaddafi or call for his resignation.

(ABC News)- President Obama said the bloodshed in Libya was “outrageous and unacceptable,” but he declined to directly censure Libyan leader Col. Moammar Gadhafi who has been blamed for much of the violent crackdown.

“The suffering and bloodshed is outrageous and it is unacceptable, so are threats and orders to shoot peaceful protesters,” Obama said in his first televised remarks on the situation in Libya. “These actions violate international norms and every standard of common decency. This violence must stop.”

Chris Matthews reviewed Obama's speech.
“This statement could have been put out by the first President Bush. It has the aspect of an Arabist statement. I shouldn’t be too strong here, but it doesn’t have any dignity. I mean – Ronald Reagan – to his credit, said ‘evil empire’ before the fall of the wall.”

Hundreds of Libyans Killed in Streets. Meanwhile, Obama is Analyzing Kadhafi's Son's Speech

 Seeking Gaddafi

President Obama called on Hosni Mubarak to resign, even though the government response to protesters was restrained. Col Muammar Gaddafi shoots hundreds of protesters in the streets and President Obama wants to analyze the last speech of his son, Saif al-Islam Kadhafi, for hope of reform. Obama is ridiculous.
WASHINGTON (AFP)—With gunfire crackling in the streets of Tripoli, and Human Rights Watch putting the death toll at 233 since Thursday, Saif al-Islam Kadhafi vaguely promised reforms as he condemned the revolt as a foreign plot.
“We are analyzing the speech of Saif al-Islam Kadhafi to see what possibilities it contains for meaningful reform,” an administration official said.
“We will seek clarification from senior Libyan officials, as we continue to raise with them the need to avoid violence against peaceful protesters and respect universal rights.”

Is Gaddafi on the ropes?

Reportedly, his army units are starting to defect to the protesters.

SKY News reported:
Members of a Libyan army unit have told Benghazi residents they have defected and “liberated” the city from pro-Gaddafi forces.
Speaking from Benghazi, a local man named Benali, told Sky News that members of the Libya’s armed forces have defected and that anti-regime protesters are now in control of the city.
Habib al-Obaidi, who heads the intensive care unit at the main Al-Jalae hospital, appeared to confirm the reports, saying the “Thunderbolt” squad arrived at the hospital with soldiers who had been injured in clashes with Gaddafi’s men.
“They are now saying that they have overpowered the Praetorian Guard and that they have joined the people’s revolt,” said Mr al-Obaidi.

Gadaffi Is Not Going Out AS Easy As Mubarak

Seeking Gaddafi

Muammar Gaddafi is not going to knuckle under to protests like Hosni Mubarak did. It appears his Army is staying loyal. They are machine-gunning protesters. Things are getting bloody in Libya.
Details have emerged of huge casualty figures in the Libyan city of Benghazi, where troops have launched a brutal crackdown on protesters.

More than 200 people are known to have died, doctors say, with 900 injured.
The most bloody attacks were reported over the weekend, as funeral marches were said to have come under machine-gun and heavy weapons fire.

One doctor, speaking amid the sound of fresh gunfire on Sunday, told the BBC that "a real massacre" had happened.

Human Rights Watch says at least 173 people have been killed in Libya since demonstrations began on Wednesday.
