Quote of the Day from Samuel Adams

“If you love wealth better than liberty, the tranquility of servitude better than the animating contest of freedom – go from us in peace. We ask not your counsels or your arms. Crouch down and lick the hands which feed you. May your chains sit lightly upon you, and may posterity forget that you were our countrymen.” ~ Samuel Adams, August, 1776

Let me rephrase this quote for modern times:
"If you love sucking on the government teat better than liberty, the easy life of being a sheeple better than fighting against the nanny state- go back to your section 8 housing and EBT card. We don't need your advice or help and you are likely unarmed and useless anyway. May the feel of a TSA agent fondling your testicles be comforting to you, and don't ever admit to being a citizen of the same country as Samuel Adams.

Some Famous Anti-Gun Quotes

The most foolish mistake we could possibly make would be to permit the conquered Eastern peoples to have arms. History teaches that all conquerors who have allowed their subject races to carry arms have prepared their own downfall by doing so."
- Adolf Hitler

"The measures adopted to restore public order are: First of all, the elimination of the so-called subversive elements .... They were elements of disorder and subversion. On the morrow of each conflict I gave the categorical order to confiscate the largest possible number of weapons of every sort and kind. This confiscation, which continues with the utmost energy, has given satisfactory results."
- Benito Mussolini

Ideas are more powerful than guns. We would not let our enemies have guns, why should we let them have ideas.
 -Joseph Stalin

"All political power comes from the barrel of a gun. The communist party must command all the guns, that way, no guns can ever be used to command the party."
- Mao Tse Tung

"Outside of the killings, Washington has one of the lowest crime rates in the country."
- Mayor Marion Barry, Washington, DC

I don't believe gun owners have rights.
-Sarah Brady

It's not surprising, then, they get bitter, they cling to guns or religion or antipathy to people who aren't like them or anti-immigrant sentiment or anti-trade sentiment as a way to explain their frustrations.
-Barack Obama

WTH? Obama Quotes Reagan?

Unbelievable. President Obama has resorted to quoting Ronald Reagan to try garner support for his START Treaty. There is a huge difference between Reagan and Obama. Americans trusted former President Ronald Reagan.

The Hill reported:
“To ensure that our national security is protected, the United States has an interest in tracking Russia’s nuclear arsenal through a verification effort that puts U.S. inspectors on the ground. As President Reagan said when he signed a nuclear arms treaty with the Soviet Union in 1987, ‘Trust, but verify,’” Obama said.

Quote of the Day From Senator Jim DeMint

Sen. Jim DeMint (R-S.C.) is a rising star in the GOP. He is a favorite of many conservatives and Tea Party goers. DeMint isn't afraid to buck the Republican establishment. He has endorsed several conservative candidates over party leadership favorites. Sen. DeMint believes in living up to his principles.

“The fastest way to a lasting Republican minority is to repeat the mistakes of the last decade — simply chasing numbers and power without living up to our principles,” DeMint said.

MSNBC Clarifies: ‘Unable to Verify’ False Limbaugh Quote

Unable to clarify? MSNBC needs to apologize for spreading lies.

From NewsBusters:
During the 3:00PM ET hour of live coverage on MSNBC Friday, co-host David Shuster admitted that racially charged quotes he and other hosts attributed to Rush Limbaugh had not been verified: “MSNBC attributed that quote to a football player who was opposed to Limbaugh’s NFL bid. However, we have been unable to verify that quote independently. So, just to clarify.” Shuster did not formally retract the quote or apologize.

CNN Refuses to Apologize for Phony Rush Limbaugh Slavery Quote

Yesterday, CNN attributed an offensive quote about slavery to Rush Limbaugh. Limbaugh strongly denies he ever made that statement and CNN and the other liberal media are unable to provide proof. If you think CNN should apologize, you will be disappointed. They defended the allegation by saying:
"that there are other quotes...which many people in...minority communities do find offensive”

NewsBusters reported:
On Tuesday’s Newsroom, CNN’s Rick Sanchez read Rush Limbaugh’s denial that he ever made a quote attributed to him in which he praised antebellum slavery, but added that the denial “that does not take away...that there are other quotes...which many people in...minority communities do find offensive” [audio available here]. Sanchez broadcast the quote yesterday without any source, and made no retraction of it.

Great Pawlenty Quotes from GOPAC Speech

Minnesota GOP Gov. Tim Pawlenty gave a great speech on Republican resurgence at the GOPAC convention last Friday. Here are some of his great lines.

From Politico:
“It appears that President Obama is making great progress on climate change, he is changing the political climate in the country back to Republican,”

“He went around the country last fall promising ‘change we can believe in,’ but now we see it’s about changing what we believe in,”

“Medicaid is essentially bankrupt, Medicare is essentially bankrupt, why the heck would we give the federal government
another entitlement program to manage?”

“The only thing growing faster than the federal deficit and debt is Chris Matthews’ man crush on Obama,”

According to Politico:
Pawlenty, who became vice chairman of the Republican Governors Association following South Carolina Gov. Mark Sanford’s resignation as the group’s chair, projected GOP wins this fall in the Virginia and New Jersey gubernatorial races and anticipated those victories would spring board the party to success in 2010.
