REP. NANCY PELOSI (D-CA): I take issue — I see these little things in the paper about this or that. But our members — the story that you don’t write or see, maybe because you’re in Washington and our members are out in their districts. And as I travel, I see our members standing tall. As I said to you before, we’re not running on this; we’re running on what the American people want us to run on and that is job creation. Show us the jobs. Where are the jobs?
Why are we not here passing a jobs agenda incident 51 times having political nonsense on the floor of the House? But I’m very proud of our members. Yeah, any bill that is passed is no perfect. I wanted single-payer, I wanted a public option.
You know, I have some changes I would make myself. But as the implementation takes place, as we see improvements that can be made to any compromise, which the bill was, we will do that. But just because people say I don’t want to repeal it but I do want to fix it doesn’t mean they are walking away from it.

Socialized Medicine Update: Allegations of children illegally euthanized in Great Britain...
This is the medical system Obamacare supporters really wanted...
British doctors have secretly killed terminally sick children by giving them 'huge' overdoses of painkillers, it was claimed yesterday.
Hours after Belgium became the first country in the world to allow the euthanasia of children, a retired GP suggested it was already happening, informally, in Britain.
Dr Michael Irwin told an LBC Radio debate: 'It has happened in this country, very quietly. I know of one or two children over the last few years.'
He added: 'It has been done under the pretext of what we call Double Effect where the child has been given huge doses of painkillers and so on, in order to relieve discomfort, pain and other symptoms.'
Jeremy Hunt, the Health Secretary, last night vowed to investigate but said he was not aware of specific cases.

House Dems reintroduce Legislation to Create Socialized Healthcare...
The public option has reared it's ugly head again...
Via The Hill:
Via The Hill:
Dozens of House Democrats on Tuesday reintroduced legislation that would amend the 2010 healthcare law to create a government-run health insurance option, or a so-called “public option.”
The Public Option Deficit Reduction Act, H.R. 261, was introduced by Rep. Jan Schakowsky (D-Ill.), along with 44 other House Democrats.
Congress considered the creation of a government-run healthcare plan during the debate over the healthcare law, but it was eventually removed of the final bill that passed in 2010. Schakowsky says bringing it back would help reduce insurance premiums.
“Obamacare is already helping millions of Americans get the health care they need, but it can be made even better,” she said. “The Public Option Deficit Reduction Act will give health care consumers more choice and lower their premiums.”
Her bill would set up a government-run plan that would provide premiums that are 5 to 7 percent lower than private insurance plans. This, she said, would “put pressure on all insurers to lower their premiums in order to compete.”

Socialized Health Fail: Forty-three hospital patients starved to death last year and 111 died of thirst in Great Britain
Do you really want to implement Obamacare and move us closer to this type of system?
Via The Telegraph:
Via The Telegraph:
Forty-three hospital patients starved to death last year and 111 died of thirst while being treated on wards, new figures disclose today.
The death toll was disclosed by the Government amid mounting concern over the dignity of patients on NHS wards.
They will also fuel concerns about care homes, as it was disclosed that eight people starved to death and 21 people died of thirst while in care.
Last night there were warnings that they must prompt action by the NHS and care home regulators to prevent further deaths among patients.

A Glimpse of our Future Under Obamacare
The joys of socialized medicine: Elderly hospital patients given tambourines because electronic call devices cost too much.
(Daily Mail) — Elderly hospital patients who were terrified that they could not summon help from nurses hoped that an electronic alarm would be installed in their day room.
Instead they were given a tambourine to shake.
And in case that broke, a pair of maracas was also supplied as back-up.
One man visiting his mother put the system to the test by rattling the tambourine for 16 minutes – but failed to attract the staff’s attention.
Yesterday the hospital was forced to apologise after an NHS watchdog described the policy as ‘unacceptable’ and criticised it for failing to install a proper alarm system.

Socialized Medicine Alert: UK Doctors Have to Prescribe Water to Keep Medical Staff From Allowing Patients to Die of Dehydration
This is the system President Obama and Democrats want to bring to America. Obamacare is only the first step.
(Daily Mail) — Doctors are prescribing drinking water for neglected elderly patients to stop them dying of thirst in hospital.
The measure – to remind nurses of the most basic necessity – is revealed in a damning report on pensioner care in NHS wards.
Some trusts are neglecting the elderly on such a fundamental level their wards could face closure orders.
The snapshot study, triggered by a Mail campaign, found staff routinely ignored patients’ calls for help and forgot to check that they had had enough to eat and drink.

Unbelievable! Obamacare Champion NY Times Tells Greece To Abandon Socialized Medicine.

After shilling for Obamacare for months, the New York Times is now telling Greece getting out of the health care marketplace would allow health care costs to come down. The hypocrisy of the left is simple astounding.
Hot Air reported:
You know, this has to be one of the strangest stories of the weekend. The New York Times, ever a champion of Obamacare during the recent debates, is reporting on some rather compelling advice for the nation of Greece, which is currently teetering on the precipice of collapse. It’s part of a plan negotiated between officials of the European Union, the I.M.F. and the European Central Bank. What might help them? Don’t have nationalized health care… or any other industry for that matter.Another reform high on the list is removing the state from the marketplace in crucial sectors like health care, transportation and energy and allowing private investment. Economists say that the liberalization of trucking routes — where a trucking license can cost up to $90,000 — and the health care industry would help bring down prices in these areas, which are among the highest in Europe.

ABC will do Obama health care infomercial

ABC is will broadcast a special on socialized health care from the White House. They are refusing to allow Republicans to respond.
Drudge reported:
On the night of June 24, the media and government become one, when ABC turns its programming over to President Obama and White House officials to push government run health care -- a move that has ignited an ethical firestorm!
Highlights on the agenda:
ABCNEWS anchor Charlie Gibson will deliver WORLD NEWS from the Blue Room of the White House.
The network plans a primetime special -- 'Prescription for America' -- originating from the East Room, exclude opposing voices on the debate.
The Director of Communications at the White House Office of Health Reform is Linda Douglass, who worked as a reporter for ABC News from 1998-2006.
Late Monday night, Republican National Committee Chief of Staff Ken McKay fired off a complaint to the head of ABCNEWS:
Dear Mr. Westin:
As the national debate on health care reform intensifies, I am deeply concerned and disappointed with ABC's astonishing decision to exclude opposing voices on this critical issue on June 24, 2009. Next Wednesday, ABC News will air a primetime health care reform “town hall” at the White House with President Barack Obama. In addition, according to an ABC News report, GOOD MORNING AMERICA, WORLD NEWS, NIGHTLINE and ABC’s web news “will all feature special programming on the president’s health care agenda.” This does not include the promotion, over the next 9 days, the president’s health care agenda will receive on ABC News programming.
Today, the Republican National Committee requested an opportunity to add our Party's views to those of the President's to ensure that all sides of the health care reform debate are presented. Our request was rejected. I believe that the President should have the ability to speak directly to the America people. However, I find it outrageous that ABC would prohibit our Party's opposing thoughts and ideas from this national debate, which affects millions of ABC viewers.
In the absence of opposition, I am concerned this event will become a glorified infomercial to promote the Democrat agenda. If that is the case, this primetime infomercial should be paid for out of the DNC coffers. President Obama does not hold a monopoly on health care reform ideas or on free airtime. The President has stated time and time again that he wants a bipartisan debate. Therefore, the Republican Party should be included in this primetime event, or the DNC should pay for your airtime.
Respectfully,
Ken McKay
Republican National Committee
Chief of Staff

"And next to me was a guy from an insurance company who then argued against the public health insurance option saying it wouldn't let private insurance compete; that a public option would put the private insurance industry out of business (cheers)... My single payer friends, he was right. The man was right. Here's what I told him. I said excuse me sir the goal of health care reform is not to protect the private health insurance industry. And, I am so confident in the supiority of a public health care option that I think he has every reason to be frightened."

Massachusetts learns universal health care is expensive

Massachusetts learns universal health care is very expensive. They set up a program for near universal health care three years ago. Now, Massachusetts health care costs are skyrocketing and the bill is coming due. Their plan to control costs is to stop paying for the quality of care and start paying for prevention. That will be comforting to Massachusetts residents fighting cancer or other serious diseases now.
Massachusetts Faces Costs of Big Health Care Plan
By Kevin Sack
BOSTON — Three years ago, Massachusetts enacted perhaps the boldest state health care experiment in American history, bringing near-universal coverage to the commonwealth with Paul Revere speed.
To make it happen, Democratic lawmakers and Gov. Mitt Romney, a Republican, made an expedient choice, deferring until another day any serious effort to control the state’s runaway health costs.
The day of reckoning has arrived. Threatened first by rapid early enrollment in its new subsidized insurance program and now by a withering economy, the state’s pioneering overhaul has entered a second, more challenging phase.
Thanks to new taxes and fees imposed last year, the health plan’s jittery finances have stabilized for the moment. But government and industry officials agree that the plan will not be sustainable over the next 5 to 10 years if they do not take significant steps to arrest the growth of health spending. The joys of socialized medicine

A doctor threw a baby and left an elderly patient to die in a hallway of an Australian hospital. A nurse, also, reported falsifying records to hide lengthy waiting times in the emergency department. Triage cases were also downgraded because of staffing. These aren't the only problems reported with Australia's universal health care system. Hospitals have long waiting lists. Babies needing heart surgery sometimes wait for more than six months. These things are common in countries with

AN ANGRY doctor allegedly threw a baby and twisted its arm and an elderly patient was left to die in a hall way at Bundaberg Hospital, staff claim.
Three hospital staff have sought whistleblower protection after detailing allegations of gross medical neglect and incompetence, overcrowding, bullying, intimidation and cover-ups to the Crime and Misconduct Commission.
A highly qualified nurse who spoke to The Courier-Mail told how she was repeatedly made to falsify records to hide lengthy waiting times in the emergency department.
She said triage cases were improperly and dangerously downgraded because of understaffing. (excerpted) read more at news.com.au
