Bernie scores one for Democratic Socialism: Demo platform to include $15 minimum wage...

I don't oppose some raise to the minimum wage as most conservatives do, but doubling it will create economic chaos, boost inflation and depress job growth.
Sanders scored a major victory Friday when the committee approved  an amendment calling for increasing the federal minimum wage to $15 per hour.
The self-described "democratic socialist" had repeatedly called for the increase during his surprisingly strong campaign for the Democratic nomination. Clinton, had backed a $12 minimum wage, while saying she approved a $15 minimum wage in certain places.
An early draft of the platform contained language more consistent with Clinton’s position, saying that “Americans should earn at least $15 an hour” without explicitly calling for that to be the new federal minimum.

Bernie Sanders pays his interns only $12 an hour.

I thought $15 was the Socialist living wage.

Via Free Beacon:
Bernie Sanders encouraged millennials to apply for a Senate internship with his office this fall, offering a $12 per hour stipend, an amount that falls below his demands for a $15 minimum wage.
Roll Call reported Tuesday that Twitter users were quick to criticize the Vermont senator for paying interns below what he called a “living wage.”
Sanders has repeatedly condemned Hillary Clinton for favoring a $12-an-hour federal minimum minimum wage, claiming at an April Democratic presidential debate that the rate is “not good enough.”
He said the rate must be raised to $15 per hour to provide workers with a “living wage,” despite paying his interns and campaign staff less.
Still, Sanders is the only presidential candidate among the initial sixteen contenders who pays interns.
Clinton relies on free labor for her campaign internships, though she established a paid fellowship last year after The Guardian reported she had brought on experienced organizers as unpaid interns.

Bernie Sanders wants to redistribute your money, but only donated 4% of AGI to charity in 2014

Cheapskate...

Via CNN:
Bernie and Jane Sanders earned nearly $206,000 in 2014 and paid about $28,000 in federal taxes, according to a tax return released by his campaign Friday night.
The return also shows that the couple earned nearly $46,000 in Social Security benefits.
Together, their total unadjusted gross earnings was $205,617. Most of the earnings came from Sanders’ $174,000 Senate salary, though Jane Sanders reported collecting $4,900 as a commissioner with the Texas Low Level Radioactive Waste Disposal Compact Commission.
The couple also reported donating $8,350 in gifts, though the seven-page return did not provide further detail.

Bernie Sanders wants to ban all fracking...

Democrats are all about screwing the middle class.

If Bernie Sanders becomes president, America's fracking boom will be in danger.

This week the Democratic presidential candidate called for a national ban on fracking, the controversial drilling technology that has not only led to a massive boom in oil and natural gas, created thousands of new jobs but also been linked to water contamination and even earthquakes.
"If we are serious about combating climate change, we need to put an end to fracking, not only in New York and Vermont, but all over this country," Sanders said during a speech in Binghamton, New York this week.

Elizabeth Warren is cheering Bernie Sanders on...

Socialists of a feather flock together...

Via USA Today:
Progressive icon Elizabeth Warren still isn’t ready to endorse a candidate for the Democratic presidential nomination. But she says she’s cheering on Bernie Sanders.
The Massachusetts Democrat’s comment came Thursday in response to a question about whether Sanders, a democratic socialist, should drop out of the race against front-runner Hillary Clinton.
‘‘He’s out there. He fights from the heart. This is who Bernie is,’’ Warren said, according to a video of the news conference. ‘‘He has put the right issues on the table both for the Democratic Party and for the country in general so I’m still cheering Bernie on.’’
Warren wouldn’t say who got her vote in the Massachusetts primary. She said she will endorse a candidate but she doesn’t have a timeline.

DNC vice chair resigns, supports Sanders...

There is no room for dissent in the DNC...
Democratic National Committee vice chair and Hawaii Rep. Tulsi Gabbard is stepping down from her post at the DNC and throwing her weight behind Bernie Sanders’ presidential campaign.
“First of all, I am resigning from the DNC so I can support Bernie Sanders for president,” Gabbard said early Sunday during NBC’s “Meet the Press” panel.
Gabbard, one of the first two female combat veterans to ever serve in Congress, stressed the importance of a leader with a “military mindset,” which she described as a candidate who knows “importantly, when we don’t use [U.S.] military power.”

Sanders tops Clinton in new national poll...

Te be honest, the 3 points is withing the margin of error and makes the poll a statistical dead heat, but Bernie clearly has momentum.

Via The Hill:
Bernie Sanders has passed Hillary Clinton at the top of a national poll for the first time in the 2016 race.
A Fox News poll released Thursday shows Sanders with 47 percent support to Clinton’s 44 percent.
That’s a gain of 10 percentage points for Sanders from the same poll in January. Clinton’s support declined 5 points.
Clinton posted leads as high as 30 percentage points over the summer, but Sanders has been steadily closing the gap. While no other poll of the race going back to 2014 has ever showed Clinton trailing a rival, she led Sanders by just 2 percentage points in the last two Quinnipiac University tracking polls.
It’s unclear whether the numbers are outliers or indicative of a dramatic change in the race. Outside of the Quinnipiac poll, Clinton posted double-digit leads in all three national polls conducted in February, with the largest lead coming in at 21 percentage points.

Democrats run away fro Bernie Sanders tax proposals...

Will Democrats support Bernie when Hillary is indicted?

Via The Hill:
Democrats are not on board with the tax hikes Democratic presidential candidate Bernie Sanders has proposed to pay for his single-payer healthcare proposal, House Minority Leader Nancy Pelosi (D-Calif.) said Wednesday.
“We’re not running on any platform of raising taxes,” Pelosi said during a press briefing to launch the Democrats’ yearly issues conference in Baltimore, Md. “We do want to have a fairer tax system, and … we hope that we can do that this year.”
Sanders on Monday acknowledged that his “Medicare-for-all” healthcare plan would require tax hikes on the middle class.
“We will raise taxes, yes we will,” Sanders said during a Democratic town hall in Des Moines, Iowa.
The Vermont senator, who’s running neck and neck with front-runner Hillary Clinton in Iowa just days ahead of the state’s caucuses, emphasized that the individual savings achieved under his healthcare plan would offset the costs of the tax increase. He called critics of the strategy “disingenuous.”

Vermont gives up on Bernie-care...errr...single-payer

The U.S. is where the rest of the world comes to avoid their countries healthcare systems if they can. Why would we want to emulate their systems?

Via Boston Globe:
For decades, liberal activists yearned for a European-style, single-payer health system that they argued would lead to more affordable, efficient, and comprehensive medical coverage for all citizens. When Vermont four years ago enacted a landmark bill to establish the nation’s first single-payer health care system, they saw their long-sought dream about to be fulfilled.
But reality hit last month. Governor Peter Shumlin released a financial report that showed the cost of the program would nearly double the size of the state’s budget in the first year alone and require large tax increases for residents and businesses. Shumlin, a Democrat and long-time single-payer advocate, said he would not seek funding for the law, effectively tabling the program called Green Mountain Care.
“In my judgment, now is not the time to ask our Legislature to take the step of passing a financing plan for Green Mountain Care,’’ Shumlin said.

Via Fox News:
Bernie Sanders is ahead of Hillary Clinton by a 50-37 percent margin among New Hampshire Democratic primary voters.
That’s according to the latest Fox News poll, released Friday.

Hillary Clinton’s campaign calls for “independent review” of Sanders' campaign...

Unintentional irony...

Via Buzzfeed:
Hillary Clinton’s campaign is calling for rival Bernie Sanders to undergo an “independent review” following the data breach that her top officials described on Friday evening as theft and a possible “violation of the law.”
Clinton’s campaign manager, Robby Mook, and spokesman, Brian Fallon, laid out the demands in a conference call with reporters on Friday: Sanders, they said, must provide a full accounting of the incident and submit to an external review to ensure that his campaign aides no longer have access to or copies of Clinton’s data.
