No Josh. We are unhappy they captured them and held them on their knees at gunpoint in the first place. Obama doesn't seem concerned about it, but he has been kneeling before Muslims for years. Itis absolutely bizzare that Kerry called this behavior helpful.

White House press secretary Josh Earnest said Friday that Republicans seemed “unhappy” that 10 U.S. Navy sailors, captured by the Iranian Revolutionary Guard this week were released, and said following their advice would have led to war…
“I think the only people unhappy about it are the Republicans for some reason,” Earnest told reporters…
“If followed advice of some of the Republican critics of the administration, we’d probably be in a bloody war with Iran right now over our sailors,” Earnest added. “The fact is our sailors right now are out of harms way.”

A spokesman for the U.S. Navy on Sunday denied reports that disciplinary charges will be filed against Lt. Cmdr. Timothy White for discharging an unauthorized weapon on federal property.
According to a post of Facebook and other social media sites, a statement reads, “Stories of Navy personnel being charges with an offense are not true. There is still a long way to go in reviewing the facts of this tragic incident, but at this time we can confirm no service member has been charged with an offense.”
Several news outlets, including this one, jumped on a report by national columnist Allen West on Saturday that stated he was enraged after he had confirmed that LTC White, who drew his personal sidearm in the July 16 terrorist attack on a Navy Reserve Center in Chattanooga, would face a reprimand and could possibly be court marshaled.

Obama administration gave $21.8 million stimulus grant to build a biofuel refinery. Then, had the Navy pay $15 a gallon for biofuel

The $15 a gallon price is 4 times the world market price of conventional jet fuel. The U.S. has plenty of oil and natural gas if the Obama administration would only permit expanded exploration and development.

The announcement is part of President Obama’s goal of advancing a domestic biofuels industry capable of powering vehicles that now use diesel and jet fuel. It’s also part of the administration’s ongoing effort to try to advance parts of its energy agenda that don’t require congressional approval. Another case in point was Obama’s announcement on Friday of new energy-efficient building initiatives. “We can’t wait for Congress to act,” Obama said on Friday. “If they won’t act, I will.” The same concept holds true for Monday’s announcement.

The purchase of 450,000 gallons represents a drop in the bucket of the Navy’s annual usage of more than 670 million gallons of fuel. It will also cost the military more up front. Mabus said the Navy will pay about $15 a gallon for the biofuel-gasoline blend it will use in a demonstration project it will conduct next summer near Hawaii. He said he hopes the Navy will be able to power a normal mission by 2016 with a 50 percent blend of gasoline and biofuels.

The name of the lucky company selling the overpriced biofuel is Solazyme. They got $21 million in Stimulus money.

USS MOUNT WHITNEY, At Sea (NNS) -- A U.S. Navy P-3C Orion maritime patrol aircraft, U.S. Air Force A-10 Thunderbolt attack aircraft and guided-missile destroyer USS Barry (DDG-52), engaged Libyan Coast Guard vessel Vittoria and two smaller craft March 28.

The vessels were engaged after confirmed reports that Vittoria and accompanying crafts were firing indiscriminately at merchant vessels in the port of Misrata, Libya.

The P-3C fired at Vittoria with AGM-65F Maverick missiles, rendering the 12-meter patrol vessel ineffective and forcing it to be beached after multiple explosions were observed in the vicinity of the port.

Two smaller Libyan craft were fired upon by the A-10 using its 30mm GAU-8/ Avenger cannon, destroying one and forcing the other to be abandoned.

Barry provided situational awareness for the aircraft by managing the airspace and maintaining the maritime picture.

Navy Seals could face 1 year in jail for giving terrorist a fat lip

If you think this story is from The Onion, you would be wrong. Even satirists wouldn't make up a story this wrong. Three Navy Seals are facing charges for 'roughing up' a terrorist they were assigned to capture. The captive, Ahmed Hasim Abed, is the alleged mastermind of the mutilation and deaths of four Blackwater security guards in 2004 (see photo above). The terrorist allegedly had a fat lip. They could face up to a year of incarceration.

Israeli naval forces blockading Gaza have intercepted a ship whose passengers include former Georgia congresswoman Cynthia McKinney.

Israeli forces on Tuesday intercepted the Greek-registered Arion in the Mediterranean Sea 23 miles off the Gaza coast, the BBC reported.

The Arion was carrying humanitarian aid to Gaza, according to the U.S.-based Free Gaza Movement.

The organization had named the ship the Spirit of Humanity and referred to it by that name on its web site.

It is the second encounter between Israeli forces and McKinney, who was aboard a ship that collided with an Israeli naval vessel while attempting to cross into Gaza last December.

Chinese have carrier killer super missile

The Pentagon is convinced the Chinese have a 'carrier killer' super missile developed. This missile is a modified Dong Feng 21. The size of the warhead would allow this missile to do severe damage to a carrier. Due to this new threat, the U.S. Navy has changed its strategy over the past several months to focus on improving the capabilities of its deep sea fleet and developing anti-ballistic defenses.

With tensions already rising due to the Chinese navy becoming more aggressive in asserting its territorial claims in the South China Sea, the U.S. Navy seems to have yet another reason to be deeply concerned.

After years of conjecture, details have begun to emerge of a "kill weapon" developed by the Chinese to target and destroy U.S. aircraft carriers.

First posted on a Chinese blog viewed as credible by military analysts and then translated by the naval affairs blog Information Dissemination, a recent report provides a description of an anti-ship ballistic missile (ASBM) that can strike carriers and other U.S. vessels at a range of 2000km.

The range of the modified Dong Feng 21 missile is significant in that it covers the areas that are likely hot zones for future confrontations between U.S. and Chinese surface forces.

The size of the missile enables it to carry a warhead big enough to inflict significant damage on a large vessel, providing the Chinese the capability of destroying a U.S. supercarrier in one strike.

Because the missile employs a complex guidance system, low radar signature and a maneuverability that makes its flight path unpredictable, the odds that it can evade tracking systems to reach its target are increased. It is estimated that the missile can travel at mach 10 and reach its maximum range of 2000km in less than 12 minutes. (excerpt) read more at usni.org
