If Obama nominated this man because he is the best candidate, that is fine. If he nominated him because he is gay, that is stupid. The Army isn't a place for social experiments.

President Obama, in a historic first for the Pentagon, has chosen to nominate Eric Fanning to lead the Army, a move that would make him the first openly gay civilian secretary of one of the military services.
Fanning’s nomination is the latest in a series of actions taken by the administration to advance the rights of gays and lesbians throughout the federal government. The Obama administration has overhauled internal policies to provide benefits to same-sex partners, appointed gay men and lesbians to the executive branch and the federal bench and ended the 18-year ban on gays serving openly in the military.

SALT LAKE CITY (AP) -- A man who reported someone beat him and carved a homophobic slur into his arm staged the attacks, authorities in rural Utah said Tuesday.

Millard County Sheriff Robert Dekker said Rick Jones, 21, could face charges after officers investigating the series of reported attacks found inconsistencies in the evidence. The Delta man eventually acknowledged faking the harassment, Dekker said.

Brett Tolman, an attorney for Jones, said the reports were a cry for help initially directed toward people close to him, and Jones didn't realize how much attention they would get.

Dominicans Pretty Unhappy Over Obama's Gay Ambassador Pick

Opposition to President Obama's nominee for U.S. ambassador to the Dominican Republic reached a fever pitch this week as religious organizers stage a "Lunes Negro" or Black Monday protest against James "Wally" Brewster.

If confirmed, Brewster will be the first openly gay ambassador to the country, a prospect that is not going over well with some segments of this conservative Christian country of 9 million people. Local reports indicate that church leaders are pressuring the government to reject Brewster's nomination and calling on the faithful to dress in black on Monday in solidarity against him.

Praise Christian Church Pastor Sauford Medrano is quoted in Diario Libre as saying that Brewster could cause "the U.S. promotion of gender beliefs in the country." That supposedly violates a general education law in the country that "all the Dominican education system is based on Christian principles."

The Pentagon on Tuesday toasted gays in the military, with a top adviser to President Obama declaring the country is “safer” now that homosexuals may serve openly.

“Because we repealed ‘don’t ask, don’t tell,’ our military … is stronger and our country is safer, more equal and more just,” said Valerie Jarrett, the keynote speaker at the Pentagon’s gay pride celebration.

It was the Defense Department second annual gay pride gathering since September 2011, when Mr. Obama signed the repeal of “don’t ask, don’t tell,” a ban on gays serving openly in the military implemented during the Clinton administration. [...]

Wednesday’s speakers were assembled by a new group, DOD Pride, and featured three senior officials, topped by Defense Secretary Chuck Hagel.

Mickey Mouse just officially added the gay agenda to his programming. In early 2014, Disney Channel will be all set to air its first openly gay couple in its family-oriented TV show “Good Luck Charlie.”

According to TV Guide, an episode of the family show will air a plot in which one of the four children has a playdate with a kid who has “two moms.” TV Guide reports that “when the kid arrives, the Duncans learn that Charlie’s pal has two moms.” That’s not an issue, however, in the show: the gay couple is “fine,” apparently, and the real problem is that the dad is not entertaining enough for the gay couple, and so “the potential new friendship is put to the test as one mom chats with Amy and the other is stuck listening to Bob’s dull stories.” [...]

Your Tax Dollars At Work: $509,840 To Text "Gay Lingo" To Gay Meth Addicts...

(CNSNews.com) – A $509,840 grant by the National Institutes of Health will pay for a study that will send text messages in "gay lingo" to methamphetamine addicts to try to persuade them to use fewer drugs and more condoms. The study began in February.

Lead researcher Dr. Cathy Reback of the Baltimore-based Friends Research Institute, Inc., told CNSNews.com how she and her team of health educators will spend the next four years and over half a million dollars encouraging gay meth addicts to cut down on unprotected sex by periodically sending them “gay-specific” text messages.

"We did a pilot about four, five years ago with 52 out-of-treatment MSM (males who have sex with males)," Dr. Reback explained. "And we sent them text messages that were gay specific - used gay lingo - and made references to the connection between high-risk sex and methamphetamine use among MSM."

Sen. Chuck Schumer is losing sleep over green cards for gay immigrants or something...

Sen. Chuck Schumer, a leader of the Senate Gang of Eight, would not commit Thursday to voting for an amendment in the immigration bill that would allow gay Americans to sponsor their foreign partners for green cards.

Schumer stressed that he backs the amendment, but all four Republican negotiators say they would not be able to support the immigration bill if the language was included.
“Look, this one is something … I worry about all the time,” Schumer told reporters during a break in the day-long Judiciary Committee markup of the legislation. “I’m a good sleeper, but I wake up in the morning thinking of these things, sometimes early in the morning.”

When asked if he would vote for the amendment, called the Uniting American Families Act, Schumer said: “I’m not going to get into speculatives.”

September 11th turned out to be just another day on the Obama-Biden campaign website: A fundraising memo from first lady Michelle Obama, a pitch for gay rights including a rainbow-colored American flag [seen above], and a campaign picture under the headline “Photo of the day–September 11th, 2012.” [...]

By comparison, the Romney-Ryan campaign features two blog entries, one from Mitt Romney and the other from Paul Ryan, and a 9/11 news release. The Romney campaign homepage featured a tweet and Facebook note about 9/11.

The president’s homepage had no 9/11 mention. Instead, it lead with a blog note from Michelle Obama. “I know we’ve been asking a lot from you lately. What I’m asking today is easy–but critical if we want to win this election. Please take a moment to commit to vote, and get at least one other person to do the same,” she wrote.

Under that was a picture of a gay America flag and audio from an Obama backer cheering the support for gay rights.

A law enforcement official has identified the suspect arrested in Wednesday's shooting as Floyd Corkins II of Herndon, Va. Investigators were interviewing his neighbors.

Another official says the shooter made a negative reference about the work of the Family Research Council before opening fire. The officials spoke anonymously because they were not authorized to discuss the ongoing investigation.

David Mariner is executive director of The DC Center for the LGBT Community. He says Corkins had been volunteering at the center for about the past 6 months. Mariner describes Corkins as "kind, gentle and unassuming."

Chase had contacted Morgan, as Chase believed Morgan was the attorney representing Crist, to set up a time wherein Chase could depose Crist. In essence, indicated to Morgan that if he (Chase) had to take Crist's deposition, Crist was not going to like what Chase asked as it would contain embarrassing things and would be used to impeach his testimony. When Morgan inquired what embarrassing things Chase was referring to, Chase indicated that he would be forced to impeach Crist by addressing the following issues: 1. Charlie Crist was a homosexual and had homosexual relationships with at least two men who were paid to leave the state to avoid embarrassing then Governor Crist. 2. Governor Crist kissed or attempted to kiss Greer at a hotel in Beverly Hills, California, 3. Governor Crist's drunken escapades, and how Governor Crist's security detail had to cover for him 4. Governor Crist attempting to run people over while intoxicated and operating a golf cart. 

Charlie Crist is denying the allegations are true. Crist will always be a scumbag to Republicans for abandoning the party after losing the primary and running a failed independent campaign for a Senate seat.

Could Superman be gay?

Honchos at Superman’s comic book home, DC Comics, said this weekend that one of their most identifiable (but as of yet unnamed) straight characters will soon be coming out of the closet, according to a report.

At the Kapow Comic Convention held last weekend in London, DC co-publisher Dan DiDio said the publisher would be reintroducing a previously existing character who would now be “one of our most prominent gay characters,” the website BleedingCool.com reports.

Didio said DC’s position had shifted on the subject since he said in an interview last year that any homosexual characters would be new introductions, and that none of their existing characters’ sexual orientations would shift.

DC vice president Bob Wayne likened DC’s change in tune to President Obama’s shift on gay marriage, explaining that DC’s policy “has evolved,” the report says.

Obama's gay money bomb

One in six of Obama's big money bundlers are out as gay.

(WaPo) — President Obama’s announcement Wednesday that he supports same-sex marriage highlights the importance of the gay community to his re-election effort, which could get a boost in donations as a result.

Many of Obama’s key financial supporters are gay–including finance director Rufus Gifford and Democratic National Committee treasurer Andrew Tobias–and the campaign has regularly held fundraisers focused on lesbian, gay, bisexual and transgender donors. 

A review of Obama’s top bundlers, who have brought in $500,000 or more for the campaign, shows that about one in six publicly identify themselves as gay. His overall list of bundlers also includes a number of gay couples who have wed in jurisdictions where same-sex marriage was legal.

“It’s a very important constituency,” said Los Angeles attorney Dana Perlman, a top Obama bundler who is helping organize a 700-person LGBT fundraiser for the president on June 6. “The community for the most part is wholeheartedly behind this man.”

Nanny State Alert: California Assembly Passes Bill To Find Out If State Contractors Are Gay

California legislators don't have anything better to do. It's not like their state is broke or anything. Oh, wait a minute...

(Sacramento Bee) — For the first time, California would ask its contractors if they are gay under legislation passed Monday by the Assembly.

The measure, Assembly Bill 1960, would enable the owners of businesses that contract with the state to identify themselves as lesbian, gay, bisexual or transgender. It would not require them to do so.

The Assembly vote was 47-24, with only one Republican supporting it. The bill now heads to the Senate.
The Department of General Services currently is required to collect data on contractors by race, ethnicity and gender. AB 1960 would add LGBT-owned businesses to that list.

The bill by Sacramento Democratic Assemblyman Roger Dickinson seeks data involving state contracts for construction, professional services, and for the purchase of materials, supplies or equipment.

Dickinson said the measure would allow state officials and gay or lesbian groups to better pinpoint the extent to which LGBT-owned businesses are helping to drive the state economy.

California state health department prints gay sex manual on same night Proposition 8's gay marriage ban was ruled unconstitutional

This would be shocking, but there is little the People's Republic of California could do that would be shocking anymore.

 (FOX40)- There would be nothing strange about a pamphlet provided by the state health department reviewing the symptoms of sexually transmitted diseases and how you may be tested for them.

But a pamphlet with anatomically correct male stick figures engaged in various sexual acts. That was just too much for man who works for the state printer and spoke out to FOX40.

“It's almost like a how to manual to have gay sex,” he says.

He was shocked along with his colleagues when he saw parts of a job being run Tuesday night.
He asked FOX40 to conceal his identity for fear of losing his job.

He has no issue with the AIDS prevention information being tailored for gay men, but he does take issue with the printed words he saw being used for any group.

"The language used: they're using the F-word, you know? And male sex organs using the C-word and the D-word," the man said.
