9-11, We shall never forget...

2016 West Point rings contain steel from World Trade Center

They won't forget 9-11.

Via NY Post:
When graduates of West Point’s Class of 2016 go into their years of service as officers of the Army, they will be wearing something no other cadets have worn before — class rings that include steel from the World Trade Center.
It hasn’t received mention in the press. But it was movingly noted Friday in the introduction of the commandant of cadets, Brig. Gen. John Thomson III, at the military academy’s annual ring memorial ceremony.
What a cure for the cynicism of a cynical age. It’s at the ring ceremony that seniors — known as “firsties” — get their rings, which become a physical link between future officers and the West Point graduates who went before.

Janet Napolitano: Another 9/11 Is “Virtually Impossible”…

People still get guns through airport security

Via Euronews:
Euronews:
There was almost a culture of rivalry between certain security agencies at the time of 9/11. That has been eradicated – you’re confident… Would you say you’re confident that 9/11 couldn’t happen again for those reasons?
Napolitano:
I’m very confident about that. I think the events that led to 9/11 with the current procedures and practices that we have in place now – not just within DHS (Department of Homeland Security) but with the FBI and others.
It would be virtually impossible to have a replication of 9/11. That’s not to say we couldn’t have another style or another type of attack, which is what I mean when I say we can’t ever rest and say we’re finished. Once we say that, our adversaries will find some other means of attack.

Remember when we had a strong leader in the White House? George W. Bush - 9/11 Bullhorn Speech (video)

George W. Bush - 9/11 Bullhorn Speech

Since it's 9/11, it must be time for Obama to post a gay American flag on his website...

Priorities...

Via Washington Secrets:
September 11th turned out to be just another day on the Obama-Biden campaign website: A fundraising memo from first lady Michelle Obama, a pitch for gay rights including a rainbow-colored American flag [seen above], and a campaign picture under the headline “Photo of the day–September 11th, 2012.” [...]
By comparison, the Romney-Ryan campaign features two blog entries, one from Mitt Romney and the other from Paul Ryan, and a 9/11 news release. The Romney campaign homepage featured a tweet and Facebook note about 9/11.
The president’s homepage had no 9/11 mention. Instead, it lead with a blog note from Michelle Obama. “I know we’ve been asking a lot from you lately. What I’m asking today is easy–but critical if we want to win this election. Please take a moment to commit to vote, and get at least one other person to do the same,” she wrote.
Under that was a picture of a gay America flag and audio from an Obama backer cheering the support for gay rights.

OWS releases their inner "9-11 truther"

A crowd of OWS protesters are carrying "9/11 truther" banner and shouting 9/11 was an inside job. Sorry democrats, it's too late to run. You own this movement.

Did Michelle Obama disrespect the flag at 9-11 ceremony? (video)

Many people are claiming if you read Michelle Obama's lips, she leans over to Obama and says, “All this for a flag,” during the folding of the flag that survived the attack on the World Trade Center. I don't read lips. You watch and decide for yourself.

Paul Krugman doubles down on crazy

The moonbat runs deep in this one.
(NY Times) — It looks as if I should say a bit more about yesterday’s anniversary. So:
The fact is that the two years or so after 9/11 were a terrible time in America — a time of political exploitation and intimidation, culminating in the deliberate misleading of the nation into the invasion of Iraq. It’s probably worth pointing out that I’m not saying anything now that I wasn’t saying in real time back then, when Bush had a sky-high approval rating and any criticism was denounced as treason. And there’s nothing I’ve done in my life of which I’m more proud.

It was a time when tough talk was confused with real heroism, when people who made speeches, then feathered their own political or financial nests, were exalted along with — and sometimes above — those who put their lives on the line, both on the evil day and after.

So it was a shameful episode in our nation’s history — and it’s one that I can’t help thinking about whenever we talk about 9/11 itself.

Rep. Ron Paul Channels Osama Bin Laden (video)

When Rep. Ron Paul is asked a foreign policy question in future debates, he should answer "no comment." Paul had virtually no chance to win the GOP 2012 nomination before tonight. Now he has none. The crowd roundly booed him.

“This whole idea that the whole Muslim world is responsible for this and they are attacking us because we are free and prosperous, that is just not true. Osama bin Laden and al-Qaeda have been explicit … they have been explicit and they wrote and said that “we attacked America because you had bases on our holy land in Saudi Arabia, you do not give Palestinians fair treatment and you have been bombing (audience boos) … I didn’t say that. I’m trying to get you to understand what the motive was behind the bombing. At the same time we had been bombing and killing hundreds of thousands of Iraqis for ten years. Would you be annoyed? If you’re not annoyed then there’s some problem.”

Joe Satriani Tribute to 9/11: "Ten Words"

This was reportedly written on 09/12/01. We don't know what the words are. Joe Satriani has left them ambiguous. The music is great though!
Joe originally wrote it on piano as a reflection of 9/11. Coming back to it on the Super Colossal record in 2006, he tried to write ten words for the title - based on the repeated ten note phrase (2:29-2:38) - but found that it was impossible to do, so he left it ambiguous.

Flashback: Congressional Leaders React to 9/11

Whatever you think of Former President G. W. Bush, former Senate Majority Leader Daschle and former House Speaker Hastert, they brought us together in the aftermath of 9/11. They showed al-Qaeda that we could not be divided and broken. Furthermore, they taught al-Qaeda that payback is a mother-f*cker. Would our current leaders be up to that task? Here is then Ill. State Senator Barack Obama's response to the 9/11 attack. Read it and you be the judge.

You have to love the part where they spontaneously sing God Bless America.

British Muslims protest outside U.S. Embassy and blame America for 10th anniversary of 9/11

If there is any doubt about what we face in the war against Islamic extremism, just watch this video of an Islamic protest against America in London on the 10 year anniversary of 9/11. The protest was outside the U.S. Embassy. They burn a U.S. flag to chants of "Burn, Burn, U.S.A."

Flashback: Palestinians Celebrate 9/11 Attack On Americans

Many Palestinians were jubilant at the death of almost 3000 Americans at the hands of al-Qaeda. President Obama wants to give them their own state.

Ill. State Sen. Obama on 9-11: "it grows out of a climate of poverty and ignorance, helplessness and despair"

Ill. State Sen. Obama in 2000

Ill. Sate Sen. Barack Obama blamed the 9/11 attack by Muslim extremists on "poverty and ignorance, helplessness and despair." Ill. Sate Sen. Obama also mentioned "lack of empathy" as a root cause of the 9/11 attack. This is typical liberal BS. The 9/11 attack grew out of a hatred of anything American or Western that has it's roots in a 13th century interpretation of Islam.
Even as I hope for some measure of peace and comfort to the bereaved families, I must also hope that we as a nation draw some measure of wisdom from this tragedy. Certain immediate lessons are clear, and we must act upon those lessons decisively. We need to step up security at our airports. We must reexamine the effectiveness of our intelligence networks. And we must be resolute in identifying the perpetrators of these heinous acts and dismantling their organizations of destruction.
We must also engage, however, in the more difficult task of understanding the sources of such madness. The essence of this tragedy, it seems to me, derives from a fundamental absence of empathy on the part of the attackers: an inability to imagine, or connect with, the humanity and suffering of others. Such a failure of empathy, such numbness to the pain of a child or the desperation of a parent, is not innate; nor, history tells us, is it unique to a particular culture, religion, or ethnicity. It may find expression in a particular brand of violence, and may be channeled by particular demagogues or fanatics. Most often, though, it grows out of a climate of poverty and ignorance, helplessness and despair.
We will have to make sure, despite our rage, that any U.S. military action takes into account the lives of innocent civilians abroad. We will have to be unwavering in opposing bigotry or discrimination directed against neighbors and friends of Middle Eastern descent. Finally, we will have to devote far more attention to the monumental task of raising the hopes and prospects of embittered children across the globe — children not just in the Middle East, but also in Africa, Asia, Latin America, Eastern Europe and within our own shores. — State Senator Barack Hussein Obama, September 19, 2001

Shameful: Paul Krugman accuses Bush, Giuliani of being "fake heroes" who cashed in on 9-11

Former President Bush and former NY Mayor Giuliani rallied us in the aftermath of 9/11. Krugman's vile attack on the 10 year anniversary may be the most shameful thing an alleged journalist has ever done. (accent is mine)
(New York Slimes)- What happened after 9/11 — and I think even people on the right know this, whether they admit it or not — was deeply shameful. Te atrocity should have been a unifying event, but instead it became a wedge issue. Fake heroes like Bernie Kerik, Rudy Giuliani, and, yes, George W. Bush raced to cash in on the horror. And then the attack was used to justify an unrelated war the neocons wanted to fight, for all the wrong reasons.
