Amusing: Occupy leader busted for arson, burglary and criminal mischief; left his Rolex at crime scene...

Hahahahahaha...

Via Reporter-Herald:
More than a month after his latest trial began, Benjamin Gilmore was found guilty on Friday of deliberately igniting the 2011 Penny Flats fire. Gilmore, 31, had been on trial since Sept. 16. The jury found him guilty of arson, burglary and criminal mischief, but not guilty on four other counts, including attempted murder.
The fire initially started Oct. 24, 2011, in a structure at 311 N. Mason St. in downtown Fort Collins, but it spread to the mixed-use Penny Flats complex next door. Damages to the property were estimated at $10 million.[...]
According to archive accounts of the incident, a key piece of evidence at the time of Gilmore’s arrest was a Rolex watch bearing his name that had been found in the debris near the scaffolding used to access the start of the fire. Gilmore had been shown in the days before to have worn the watch at a Fort Collins City Council meeting, but afterward had injuries to his legs and apparent burn injuries to his hands. He told police at the time he had acquired the injuries at the Occupy Fort Collins bonfire. Keep on reading...

You won't read or hear this story in the mainstream media...

Amusing: Occupy RNC protesters exhausted...

The idea of one Occupy protester accusing another of being lazy is priceless...

But after lunchtime, the tents were looking pretty cozy.

It didn't sit well with one Occupy Wall Street protester, a 21-year-old woman who would only identify herself as Ducky.

"The same laziness I'm seeing here can happen on the front steps of Domino's and be used as activism," she pleaded.

An older bearded man sitting nearby sighed and got to his feet.
Then, he yelled at her.

OWS changes planned DNC protest name to keep from embarrassing Democrats

The planned protest at the Republican convention is still named "Occupy the RNC."

Via US News:

A protest by any other name is still a protest. But not all protests are an occupation.

Two months after the major group planning to protest the Democratic National Convention changed its name, a new and bigger demonstration is being planned for the September event. This time, it's being led by "original" Occupy protesters.

Protest organizer John Penley, among the first to join the Occupy protests in Zuccotti Park, says some Occupy protesters were disturbed by the name change, which turned the "Coalition to Protest at the DNC" into the "Coalition to March on Wall Street South — Building People's Power During the DNC."

The change in nomenclature, he said, let Democrats off the hook.

And so despite the perception that Occupy is more liberal than it is conservative, Penley says his demonstration, "Occupy the Military Industrial Complex," will very much target President Barack Obama.

"We're targeting Obama's out of control military spending," he told Whispers. "It's the key to so many problems in the U.S. That, and the drone strikes on American citizens. And the NDAA. People feel so upset with Obama."

Occupy Wall Street Leader allegedly assaulted an NYPD sergeant with a metal pipe

One of the men, 41-year-old Alexander Penley (middle in pic?), arrested is a lawyer and OWS organizer. President Obama was a lawyer and community organizer. This makes me wonder what he would be doing now if he hadn't gone into politics.

Via Gothamist:
According to police, the two men who were arrested in front of the Sixth Street Community Center last night allegedly assaulted an NYPD sergeant with a metal pipe in front of the Starbucks on Astor Place. One of the men, 41-year-old Alexander Penley, is an attorney and has been an Occupy Wall Street organizer since the movement began in the fall.
Penley, along with 30-year-old Nicholas Thommen, were arrested around 10 p.m. after what witnesses described as a violent scuffle between the two men and police officers, and are charged with a litany of offenses, including assaulting a police officer, menacing, criminal possession of a weapon, resisting arrest, and inciting a riot.
Penley has been quoted in stories about Occupy Wall Street in The Guardian and USA Today, and appeared on the local Manhattan television show Let Them Talk in October.

Classy: Occupy Protester Gets Caught Dumping Tub of Human Waste in Bank

What kind of mind would even conceive a plan like this?
(NBC NY) — Police say an Occupy Wall Street protester dumped a tub of human waste down a public stairwell and inside a bank vestibule, and got caught on video.
Police said Occupy Wall Street protesters were captured on surveillance video dragging a large receptacle of human urine and feces to an open-air plaza at the corner of Nassau and Cedar streets last Wednesday evening, just before 8 p.m.
They then poured the waste down a set of stairs there, police said.
About 20 minutes later, one of the protesters entered a Chase ATM vestibule on Water Street and poured human waste inside there, police said.
A witness gave police the license plate number of the van used to transport the waste, and police were able to match the plate to its registered owner, a Philadelphia man.
He was arrested on Wall Street Saturday on charges of unlawful possession of noxious matter and aggravated unlicensed operation of motor vehicle.

Liberal Heartache: OWS could run out of cash in weeks

Where is the Communist Party when Occupy Wall Street needs them?
NEW YORK (AP) — Occupy Wall Street in New York City could run out of cash in a matter of weeks.
A finance report shows the group that galvanized the nationwide movement against economic inequality six months ago had about $45,000 left in its main account. That’s for the week of March 2. Weekly donations plummeted to about $1,600.
The report on the group’s General Assembly website says at “the current rate of expenditure” the occupiers will be “out of money in THREE WEEKS.”
There was no immediate response to a request for comment emailed to Occupy on Friday night. But a former member of the group’s accounting arm cautions that the report doesn’t tell the full story.

Obama's SEIU buddies team up with Occupy Wall street to "Abolish Capitalism"

President Obama seen nodding in approval...

Via Breitbart:
Breitbart.com has received exclusive tape of an Occupy Strategy Session at New York University, billed as a group talk on “The Abolition of Capitalism.” One of the headline speakers at this session was Stephen Lerner, former leader and International Board Member of the SEIU and frequent Obama White House visitor. Lerner argued in favor of people not paying their mortgages and “occupying” their homes; he spoke in favor of invading annual shareholders meetings to shut them down. But his big goal was to get workers to shut down their workplaces. That’s where the SEIU agenda and the Occupy agenda truly meet: once workers begin to occupy.
Lerner wasn’t the only one preaching this communist propaganda.  The panel’s title told the whole story. [...]

Failed Former President Jimmy Carter Declares The Occupy Movement A Success

Nobody knows success like Jimmy Carter...
ATLANTA (AP) — Former President Jimmy Carter said on Wednesday that Occupy organizers have created a “relatively successful” movement because they focused national discussion on wealth disparity despite lacking leadership and a unifying set of goals.
The Georgia Democrat said at an event in Atlanta that Occupy organizers have succeeded in forcing the media and Congress to realize the “chasm is getting greater than leaps and bounds” between the rich and the poor.
“It’s been relatively successful even acknowledging there’s no leadership, there’s no coherence and there’s no single list of issues they want to succeed,” the former president said of the movement started late last year in lower Manhattan to decry corporate influence in government and wealth inequality.
“That issue was basically ignored by the Congress and the news media a year ago,” he said. “I believe they’ve achieved putting that back on the agenda.”

Unlikely: Demo Senate candidate Elizabeth Warren claims she isn't in wealthy 1%, but she lives in a house worth $5 million

Massachusetts Senate candidate Elizabeth Warren claims to have been the founder of Occupy Wall Street. She also claims to not be the 1%. Papaers filed for her Senate campsign indicate a net worth of up to $14.5 million.
(BuzzFeed) — The rhetoric of class and inequality is back in force, and Massachusetts Senate candidate Elizabeth Warren — the standard-bearer for a combative new progressivism — made the case to MSNBC’s Lawrence O’Donnell last night that members of the Senate shouldn’t own stock.

“I realize there are some wealthy individuals – I’m not one of them, but some wealthy individuals who have a lot of stock portfolios” she told him.

Hard to see how Warren wouldn’t be, by most standards, wealthy, according to the Personal Financial Disclosure form she filed to run for Senate shows that she’s worth as much as $14.5 million. She earned more than $429,000 from Harvard last year alone for a total of about $700,000, and lives in a house worth $5 million.

Occupiers pay back sheltering church by peeing on a cross and stealing holy vessel

West Park Presbyterian Church, Manhattan, West 86th Street

Occupiers are animals and Democrats own them.
(NYP) — There’s no longer room at the inn at a Manhattan church that’s sheltering Occupy Wall Streeters after a holy vessel disappeared from the altar last week.

When the Rev. Bob Brashear prepared for Sunday services at West Park Presbyterian Church on West 86th Street, he noticed parts of the bronze baptismal font were gone.

In a fire-and-brimstone message to occupiers later that day, he thundered, “It was like pissing on the 99 percent.”

In Brooklyn, at another church housing OWS protesters, an occupier urinated on a cross, according to Rabbi Chaim Gruber, who has angrily abandoned the OWS movement.

In a letter last week to OWS obtained by The Post, the rabbi fumed, “The Park Slope church housing occupiers was desecrated when an occupier peed inside the building and the pee came into contact with a cross.”

At West Park, Rev. Brashear walked into the church for a morning service to find the 18-inch-diameter bronze basin and lid missing from the baptismal font’s 800-pound base. Holy water — straight from the River Jordan — had been poured from the missing basin insert into the base’s bowl.
