University of California, Berkeley students not so happy about Big Sis becoming president...

They can't send her back. We have a strict no return policy...

Via WFB:
The student government of the University of California, Berkeley is considering a vote of “no confidence” in incoming UC system president Janet Napolitano, a potentially devastating blow to the former Homeland Security Secretary and Arizona governor.
The Daily Californian reports the Associated Students of the University of California (ASUC) will begin debate on a “Bill in Support of Undocumented Students and Immigrant Communities,” on Monday, the student government’s first meeting of the year.
“The ‘no confidence’ comes from a lot of history—she has deported over 2 million undocumented immigrants,” ASUC senator Sean Tan, who authored the bill, told theDaily Californian. “There’s a lot of fear in terms of what is her main priority as UC president, because she comes from a background of surveillance and apprehension and security.”
A UC student workers’ union also decried Napolitano’s appointment.
“We call for a president devoted to rebuilding our capacity for teaching, research, and learning—not a specialist in cyber surveillance, law enforcement, and border security,” the union’s release states. “We demand that the UC regents retract Napolitano’s nomination for appointment and reopen the process for selecting the UC president.”
Friday is Napolitano’s last day as Secretary of Homeland Security, after which she will take over as president of the University of California system.

Big Sis caught lying about sequestration airport slowdown

Is everyone in this administration a bald-faced liar?

Via Telegraph:
Airports have denied a claim by Janet Napolitano, the secretary of homeland security, that the sequester is already causing long delays for travelers at security screening checkpoints.
Ms Napolitano said today that major airports were seeing lines “150 to 200 per cent as long as we would normally expect” as result of the federal spending cuts that went into force on Friday.
“We’re already seeing the effects at some of the ports of entry, the big airports, for example. Some of them had very long lines this weekend,” she told a breakfast event organised by Politico.
When pressed for specifics she cited Chicago’s O’Hare, Atlanta’s Hartfield-Jackson and Los Angeles International Airport (LAX), adding: “I don’t mean to scare, I mean to inform.”
However, when contacted by The Daily Telegraph, spokespeople for both O’Hare and LAX, as well as representatives from the travel industry, denied that airports had been hit by delays.
“We haven’t had any slowdowns at all,” said Marshall Lowe, a spokesman for LAX. Mr Lowe said that he had been on duty over the weekend and received no reports of unusual security delays.

Backpedaling: Homeland Security Secretary Janet Napolitano regrets release of hundreds of illegal immigrants from detention centers

Janet Napolitano is full of sh*t...

Via Newsmax:
Homeland Security Secretary Janet Napolitano on Thursday addressed Republican criticism of the release of hundreds of illegal immigrants from detention centers, saying she wishes it had been spread over time rather than all at once.
Napolitano told ABC News that Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) officials decided to release immigrants deemed to be a low public-safety risk ahead of the across-the-board spending cuts set to begin on Friday.
“Detainee populations and how that is managed back and forth is really handled by career officials in the field,” she said in the interview.
“Do I wish that this all hadn’t been done all of a sudden and so that people weren’t surprised by it? Of course.”
Republican anger has been growing since the mass release came to light on Monday. Immigration officials reportedly said the decision was made to prepare for the sequester, which would limit the number of detainees held.

Big Sis: Sequestration could cause terrorist attacks or something...

Sequestration must be like global warming. it causes everything...

Via Politico:
Homeland Security Secretary Janet Napolitano told reporters at a White House briefing Monday that the nation would be more vulnerable to a terrorist attack if sequester cuts kick in Friday, as her agency is forced to cut back on everything from border-patrol agents to customs officers to Coast Guard patrols.
She said that customs, port security and TSA agents would still be doing thorough checks, but that borders on land and sea could be more porous with fewer patrols.
“I don’t think we can maintain the same level of security at all places around the country with sequester as [we do] without sequester,” Napolitano said.
At the nation’s airports and ports, she said the effects would be longer lines. She predicted waits at airports could double — to as long as four hours at busy hubs like New York’s JFK. And she said cargo could take as long as five days to clear at busy ports.
“We will work to continue to preserve our frontline priorities as best we can,” Napolitano said.
As for combatting terrorist threats, she said “The sequester makes it awfully awfully tough.”

Deal Killer? Bipartisan Senate immigration bill gives Janet Napolitano final say if border is secure...

This is a deal breaker in my opinion...

Via The Hill:
Under a bipartisan Senate framework, Democrats say, Secretary of Homeland Security Janet Napolitano would have final say over whether the border is secure enough to put 11 million illegal immigrants on a path to citizenship.
If Napolitano does not provide the green light for putting illegal immigrants on a pathway to citizenship, the responsibility for judging whether the metrics for border security have been met will be given to her successor.
The early debate over immigration reform has yielded two thorny questions: What metrics will be used to determine whether the goals for border security and other safeguards against illegal immigration have been met? Who will decide whether the metrics have been achieved?

Janet Napolitano: Another 9/11 Is “Virtually Impossible”…

People still get guns through airport security

Via Euronews:
Euronews:
There was almost a culture of rivalry between certain security agencies at the time of 9/11. That has been eradicated – you’re confident… Would you say you’re confident that 9/11 couldn’t happen again for those reasons?
Napolitano:
I’m very confident about that. I think the events that led to 9/11 with the current procedures and practices that we have in place now – not just within DHS (Department of Homeland Security) but with the FBI and others.
It would be virtually impossible to have a replication of 9/11. That’s not to say we couldn’t have another style or another type of attack, which is what I mean when I say we can’t ever rest and say we’re finished. Once we say that, our adversaries will find some other means of attack.

Discrimination lawsuit claims 'Big Sis' promoted less-qualified woman with whom she “enjoyed a long-standing relationship”

Hmm...

Via NY Post:
A veteran US law-enforcement official has filed a blockbuster discrimination lawsuit against Homeland Security Secretary Janet Napolitano, charging she pushed him aside to make way for a less-qualified woman who’s “enjoyed a long-standing relationship” with the anti-terror chief.

That woman, Dora Schriro, was later appointed by Mayor Bloomberg as commissioner of the city Department of Correction, a post she still holds.

The court papers also allege that Suzanne Barr, Napolitano’s chief of staff at Immigration and Customs Enforcement, has engaged in “numerous” acts of “sexually offensive behavior” intended to “humiliate and intimidate male employees.[...]

The suit was filed by James T. Hayes Jr., special agent in charge of New York City investigations for Immigration and Customs Enforcement.[...]

The suit doesn’t detail the nature of their relationship.

During her 2002 gubernatorial campaign, Napolitano publicly denied rumors that she’s a lesbian. In a 2009 interview, she said, “I just happen not to be married.”

When asked at that time if she was “seeing anybody now,” she answered, “Yes, my staff.”... Keep on reading...

HSS Janet Napolitano admits terrorists crossing southern border

Janet Napolitano is doing everything she can to keep the border safe, except for effectively guarding it or building a fence.
(CNSNews.com) -- Homeland Security Secretary Janet Napolitano told Congress last week that terrorists intending to harm the American people enter the U.S. from Mexico “from time to time."

At a July 25 hearing of the House Homeland Security Committee, Rep. Ron Barber (D-Ariz.) asked Napolitano: “As you know, Madam Secretary, there have been anecdotal reports about material evidence of the presence of terrorists along our southern border. My question is, is there any credible evidence that these reports are accurate and that terrorists are, in fact, crossing our southern border with the intent to do harm to the American people?”

Napolitano answered: “With respect, there have been--and the Ababziar matter would be one I would refer to that's currently being adjudicated in the criminal courts--from time to time, and we are constantly working against different and evolving threats involving various terrorist groups and various ways they may seek to enter the country.”

“What I can tell you, however, is that that southern border--the U.S.-Mexico border--is heavily, heavily staffed at record amounts of manpower, materiel, infrastructure and the like, and we are constantly making sure we're doing all we can to make that border as safe as possible,” she said.

Janet Napolitano: Illegals detained by local law enforcement will be given civil rights phone number by ICE

Janet Napolitano must want illegal immigrants picked up by local law enforcement and turned over to ICE to join her 'leave the illegals alone' lawsuits against Arizona and Alabama.
(CNSNews.com) — Homeland Security Secretary Janet Napolitano told the House Judiciary Committee in written testimony submitted Wednesday that illegal aliens taken into custody by local law enforcement and turned over to Immigration and Customs Enforcement will be given a phone number to call if they believe their civil rights have been violated.

The phone number will be provided on a form that will include directions on how to file a complaint in six different languages.

Napolitano told the committee that ICE has “updated its detainer form to clarify the longstanding rule that state and local authorities are not to detain an individual for more than 48 hours except for holidays and weekends.

“The new detainer form also requires state and local law enforcement to provide the arrestees with a copy of the form, which includes a number to call if they believe their civil rights have been violated by ICE,” said Napolitano.

Big Sis: Hey, I will Let You Leave Your Shoes On At Airport Security, But I Still Want To See You Naked

According to HSS Janet Napolitano, the requirement that air travelers take their shoes off could soon be history, but there is no plan to get rid of the naked scanners.
Homeland Security Secretary Janet Napolitano sees the future of American air travel and it is full of passengers who are allowed to keep their shoes on through security.

"We are moving towards an intelligence and risk-based approach to how we screen," Napolitano said today, according to POLITICO, at an event sponsored by the news organization. "I think one of the first things you will see over time is the ability to keep your shoes on. One of the last things you will [see] is the reduction or limitation on liquids."

Obama Administration Implements Backdoor Amnesty Program

They are refusing to deport illegal aliens. President Barack Obama and Homeland Security Secretary Janet Napolitano are outlaws who think they can ignore any law they disagree with.
The Homeland Security Department said Thursday it will halt deportation proceedings on a case-by-case basis against illegal immigrants who meet certain criteria such as attending school, having family in the military or are primarily responsible for other family members’ care.

The move, announced in letters to Congress, won immediate praise from Hispanic activists and Democrats who had chided President Obama for months for the pace of deportations and had argued he had authority to exempt broad swaths of illegal immigrants from deportation.

“Today’s announcement shows that this president is willing to put muscle behind his words and to use his power to intervene when the lives of good people are being ruined by bad laws,” said Rep. Luis V. Gutierrez, Illinois Democrat.

In the letters to Congress, Homeland Security Secretary Janet Napolitano said her department and the Justice Department will review all ongoing cases and see who meets the new criteria on a case-by-case basis.

Big Sis Develops an Interest in Border Security

The Closing of the American Border: Terrorism, Immigration, and Security Since 9/11
It isn't what you were hoping for. Homeland Security Secretary Janet Napolitano is interested in border security in Afghanistan.

(The Hill) — Homeland Security Secretary Janet Napolitano touched down in Afghanistan on Friday morning and planned to spend New Year’s Eve visiting troops.

Six Department of Homeland Security (DHS) customs and border security officials will accompany Napolitano on the weeklong trip, which will include stops in Qatar, Israel and Belgium.

Napolitano spent Friday morning touring Afghanistan’s Torkham Border Crossing with Pakistan and meeting with Afghan an U.S. border security and customs officials to find new ways to establish a border-security and customs system to counter terrorism while allowing legitimate travel and trade.

U.S. Director of National Intelligence unaware of 12 London terror arrests

President Obama has a assembled a lightweight national security team. That is very obvious in this ABC video. Janet Napolitano claims procedures put in place now would stop last years Christmas underwear bomber. That is highly unlikely. The random groping of children and naked scanning of selected attractive women does not make us any safer. It is all security theater. Perhaps she is referring to better use of do-not-fly lists or other intelligence information, but, frankly, I have no confidence in Obama's security team. If you want to know why you should fell that way too zoom to the 3:35 mark in the video. US Director of National Intelligence James Clapper is outed as an uninformed buffoon. He apparently doesn't receive timely intelligence reports or even watch the news!

James R. Clapper holdover from the George W. Bush administration who needs to be put out to pasture.

TSA Gropes Woman and Leaves her in Tears because She was Wearing a Pantyliner

Here is another shameful episode brought to you by Janet Napolitano and the perverts working at TSA. A woman was singled out for a very invasive search after her pantyliner obscured the image screeners view of her genitals.
"This email isn't going to be as polished as I would normally send, but I'm upset and I don't want what happened to me to happen to anyone else (if I can stop it). I recently traveled via air, and was subjected to that new scanning device. "No problem," I thought. I was wearing jeans and a linen tanktop, bra, panties, and one camoflauge pantyliner. I'm a rule follower, so I never have any problems at the airport. Not this time. I was stopped, and then held for 15 mintues while they tried to find a female supervisor. I couldn't get to my bag, my shawl or my shoes; just standing there while the TSA agents kept me in one place. Now, I don't want this to be about bad TSA agents; they were doing their job, they were as delicate as they could be, etc., etc. But what ultimately happened is that I was subjected to search so invasive that I was left crying and dealing with memories that I thought had been dealt with years ago of prior sexual assualts. Why? Because of my flannel panty-liner.

Leave the pantyliners at home ladies.

WaPo: New Airport Scanners and Pat Downs May Violate Constitution

In 2006, a federal appeals court ruled airport security was constitutional. The ruling referred to metal detectors and pat downs for those alarms the machines. What Janet Napolitano's has the TSA doing now goes far beyond that ruling. The 2006 ruling said searches had to be "minimally intrusive." Making fliers virtually naked and groping their "junk" hardly meets that test.

The Washington Post:
In a 2006 opinion for the U.S. Court of Appeals for the 3rd Circuit, then-Judge Samuel Alito stressed that screening procedures must be both "minimally intrusive" and "effective" - in other words, they must be "well-tailored to protect personal privacy," and they must deliver on their promise of discovering serious threats. Alito upheld the practices at an airport checkpoint where passengers were first screened with walk-through magnetometers and then, if they set off an alarm, with hand-held wands. He wrote that airport searches are reasonable if they escalate "in invasiveness only after a lower level of screening disclose[s] a reason to conduct a more probing search."

As currently used in U.S. airports, the new full-body scanners fail all of Alito's tests.

Report: Internal memo from DHS Secretary Janet Napolitano labels opt-out fliers as “domestic extremists”

Northeast Intelligence Network is reporting DHS Secretary Janet Napolitano has issued a memo labeling fliers who opt-out of naked scanners as “domestic extremists.”
The memo, which actually takes the form of an administrative directive, appears to be the product of undated but recent high level meetings between Napolitano, John Pistole, head of the Transportation Security Administration (TSA),and one or more of Obama’s national security advisors. This document officially addresses those who are opposed to, or engaged in the disruption of the implementation of the enhanced airport screening procedures as “domestic extremists.”

The introductory paragraph of the multipage document states that it is issued “in response to the growing public backlash against enhanced TSA security screening procedures and the agents conducting the screening process.” Implicit within the same section is that the recently enhanced security screening procedures implemented at U.S. airports, and the measures to be taken in response to the negative public backlash as detailed [in this directive], have the full support of the President.

Homeland Security secretary thanks TSA staff for all their hard groping

The public is having a bad reaction to TSA employees naked scanning and genital groping, but Homeland Security secretary Janet Napolitano really appreciates it. Of course, the chance of anybody wanting to see her naked or grope her 'junk' anywhere but at the airport is slim and none.

The Hill reported:
Homeland Security Secretary Janet Napolitano thanked TSA workers for their vigilance and hard work on Tuesday afternoon.

Obama Declared April Sexual Assault Awareness Month. Janet Napolitano Has TSA Start Fondling Air Travelers.

The hypocrisy of the Obama administration is mind-blowing. On April 1, 2010, President Obama declared April Sexual Assault Awareness month (pdf) for the second year in a row.
Every day, women, men, and children across America suffer the pain and trauma of sexual assault. From verbal harassment and intimidation to molestation and rape, this crime occurs far too frequently, goes unreported far too often, and leaves long-lasting physical and emotional scars. During National Sexual Assault Awareness Month, we recommit ourselves not only to lifting the veil of secrecy and shame surrounding sexual violence, but also to raising awareness, expanding support for victims, and strengthening our response.

Meanwhile, DHS Secretary Janet Napolitano has TSA fondling air travelers; including sticking their hands down peoples pants.

TSA's official blogger denies the invasive searches are sexual assault. (accent is mine)
Blogger Blogger Bob said...

There is no fondling, squeezing, groping, jabbing, or any sort of sexual assault taking place at airports. You have a professional workforce carrying out procedures they were trained to perform to keep aviation security safe.

Here is how USDOJ Ofice of Violence Against Women Director Susan B. Carbon defined sexual assault at this year's Sexual Assault Awareness Month Event. (Small pdf) (accent is mine)
Sexual assault can be defined as any type of sexual contact or behavior that occurs without the explicit consent of the recipient. Falling under this definition are forced sexual intercourse, sodomy, child molestation, incest, fondling, and attempted rape.

Obama Claims to be deporting more illegals than ever, but ICE official admits they dumped 500,000 back onto US Streets

The truth is hard to come by when the question of the Obama administration's enforcement of immigration law is considered. Homeland Security Secretary Janet Napolitano claims they have deported a record 392,000 illegal immigrants over the past year. An ICE official told Prince William Board chairman Corey Stewart ICE released a half a million back onto US streets.

The Washington Examiner reported:
Prince William Board chairman Corey Stewart told The Examiner that a top aide at U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement admitted to him that ICE has released more than a half million convicted criminal illegal immigrants back into American communities instead of deporting them.

Stewart also says that he is still waiting for information he requested about the whereabouts of some 2,739 criminals convicted in Prince William County since 2007 and sent to ICE for deportation. County police officers have already recaptured 249 of these felons.

Napolitano Says 'Nothing to See Here' as Dozens of Suicide Bombers Train in Yemen

Americans shouldn't worry. Janet Napolitano said Sunday that she does not think the attempted bombing of a Detroit-bound plane on Friday was part of a larger plot. In spite of Secretary Napolitano's naive optimism, British police fear that 25 British-born Muslims are plotting to bomb Western airliners.
