TSA failed to identify 73 airport workers “linked to terrorism.”

What TSA is doing at the airport is only security theater. That's it.
On the heels of Transportation Security Administration workers flunking a security test at airport checkpoints, the results of a new audit show that — while the agency keeps a robust system for screening commercial airport workers — it still failed to flag 73 airport workers “linked to terrorism.”
Apparently, TSA does not have access to all the terror watchlist information it needs to make those judgments.
“The TSA did not identify these individuals through its vetting operations because it is not authorized to receive all terrorism-related categories under current interagency watch-listing policy,” the June 4 Inspector General report stated.

Conclusive proof that TSA groping and naked scanning isn't working...

TSA failed to find fake explosives 96% of the time. We are wasting out time and money on TSA.

Via Fox News
Undercover agents were able to sneak fake explosives and banned weapons through Transportation Security Administration checkpoints, in an investigation that revealed a massive, system-wide security failure at America’s airports.
The findings were part of a DHS inspector general probe. The report is still classified, but Fox News has confirmed the investigation found security failures at dozens of airports.
Homeland Security officials confirmed to Fox News that TSA screeners failed 67 out of 70 tests — or 96 percent — carried out by special investigators known as “red teams.”

TSA agents plotted to grope attractive men's crotches...

It's long past time to disband the TSA and go back to private airport screeners. After TSA found out attractive men were being groped by one of their sexually deviant employees, it only took them three months to respond. That's government efficiency for you.

Via CBSDenver:
According to law enforcement reports obtained during the CBS4 investigation, a male TSA screener told a female colleague in 2014 that he “gropes” male passengers who come through the screening area at DIA.
“He related that when a male he finds attractive comes to be screened by the scanning machine he will alert another TSA screener to indicate to the scanning computer that the party being screened is a female. When the screener does this, the scanning machine will indicate an anomaly in the genital area and this allows (the male TSA screener) to conduct a pat-down search of that area.”
Although the TSA learned of the accusation on Nov. 18, 2014 via an anonymous tip from one of the agency’s own employees, reports show that it would be nearly three months before anything was done.
On Feb. 9 TSA security supervisor Chris Higgins watched the screening area, observing the employees. “At about 0925 he observed (the male TSA screener) appear to give a signal to another screener … (the second female screener) was responsible for the touchscreen system that controls whether or not the scanning machine alerts to gender- specific anomalies, according to a law enforcement report obtained by CBS4.
According to the report, the TSA investigator then watched a male passenger enter the scanner at DIA “and observed (the female TSA agent) press the screening button for a female. The scanner alerted to an anomaly, and Higgins observed (the male TSA screener) conduct a pat down of the passenger’s front groin and buttocks area with the palm of his hands, which is contradictory to TSA searching policy.” Read it all...

Stupid: TSA is confiscating belt buckles again...

The TSA should be disbanded and we should go back to 100% private screeners.

Via Logicology:
I am livid. Angry. Filled with rage.
A few minutes ago (as of this posting, a few hours), I lost my favorite belt buckle to the TSA at Los Angeles International Airport, because – they claimed – it was a “replica” of a gun.
What kind of a gun, you might ask?
A 1950s Flash Gordon-style RAYGUN!! A fictional weapon. A child’s toy.

Shocking Report: TSA won't let you fly without a photo ID, but allow illegals to fly without ID...

Granny needs a photo ID and gets a diaper search before boarding.

Breitbart reported:
Illegal aliens are being allowed to fly on commercial airliners without valid identification, according to the National Border Patrol Council (NBPC).
“The aliens who are getting released on their own recognizance are being allowed to board and travel commercial airliners by simply showing their Notice to Appear forms,” NBPC’s Local 2455 Spokesman, Hector Garza, told Breitbart Texas.
“This is not the CBP [Customs and Border Protection] or another federal agency renting or leasing an aircraft, these are the same planes that the American public uses for domestic travel,” said Garza. “This just adds insult to injury. Not only are we releasing unknown illegal aliens onto American streets, but we are allowing them to travel commercially using paperwork that could easily be reproduced or manipulated on any home computer. The Notice to Appear form has no photo, anyone can make one and manipulate one. They do not have any security features, no watermark, nothing. They are simply printed on standard copy paper based on the information the illegal alien says is the truth.”
Spokesman Garza continued, “We do not know who these people are, we often have to solely rely on who they say they are, where they say they came from, and the history they say they have. We know nothing about most of them, ICE releases them into the American public, and now they are boarding aircraft at will with a simple paper document that anyone can easily alter or reproduce themselves.”

Confessions of a TSA agent...

They laughed at our images on their penis measuring devices...

Via Daily Mail:
A former TSA officer has confirmed many of the worst suspicions about airport security screeners: they stop passengers for having an attitude, they confiscate snow globes from children and nail clippers from pilots, they profile passengers based on their nationality.
And yes, they do see travelers naked in the X-ray photos.
In a confessional piece for Politico, former TSA agent-turned-writer Jason Harrington spills the secrets on the ways that the security workers pass the time during their long shifts.
‘I confiscated jars of homemade apple butter on the pretense that they could pose threats to national security. I was even required to confiscate nail clippers from airline pilots—the implied logic being that pilots could use the nail clippers to hijack the very planes they were flying,’ he wrote.

The TSA should be banned from airport security and taken back over by airports and airlines.

TSA will check grannies depends, but the Muslim Brotherhood gets a free pass...

Team Obama is taking good care of the Muslim bros.

Via IPT:
Newly released records confirm a 2012 Investigative Project on Terrorism (IPT) report that the State Department cleared the way for a visiting delegation of Muslim Brotherhood officials to enter the country without undergoing routine inspection by U.S. Customs and Border Protection agents.

The April 2012 visit came before the Muslim Brotherhood's candidate was elected Egypt's president, although the Brotherhood's Freedom and Justice Party (FJP) had won a plurality of seats in parliamentary elections. The expedited entry is known as a "port courtesy" normally reserved for high-ranking visiting government officials and dignitaries.

TSA still harassing people with disabilities

Scumbags...

Via FOX News:
The Arizona Republic reports that 26 complaints were filed on behalf of people with disabilities at the airport's checkpoints in 2012, which is more than double the national average, according to records obtained under the Freedom of Information Act.
One of the complaints was filed by an 82-year-old woman in a wheelchair who was reportedly required to take out her prosthetic breast while passing through a TSA security checkpoint before boarding a flight to London last June.
“At her age and physical capability, she posed absolutely no risk whatsoever to anyone’s safety and should not have been subjected to such invasive and (undignifed) treatment,” the woman’s grandchild wrote in a complaint obtained by the paper. “This sort of degrading treatment is more appropriate for prisoners.”
In another incident, a breast cancer survivor complained that an agent at Sky Harbor ordered a pat-down of her prosthetic breast and refused to conduct the search in a private area.
“She made me pull it out in front of the world....

Not from The Onion: TSA blog tells travelers "Leave Your Grenades at Home"

Well, duh!

TSA Travel Tips Tuesday: Leave Your Grenades at Home

After reading the title of this post, your first thought probably was, “That’s obvious.” Not always so. Year to date, our officers have discovered:

  • 43 grenades in carry-on baggage.
  • 40 grenades in checked baggage
The majority of these grenades were inert, replica, or novelty items, but a few were live smoke, flare, riot, and flash bang grenades, which can pose major safety issues to aircraft and also violate FAA hazmat regulations. Read more here...

Feel Good Story: TSA agent accidentally pepper sprays five fellow employees

These morons are not keeping us safe...

Via Yahoo News:
An incident that reportedly led a TSA agent to accidentally shoot five fellow employees with pepper spray left Kennedy International Airport with mud in its eye.

According to the New York Post, the stinging substance that is meant to be aimed at the face, and can cause major eye irritation, sent all six airport security screeners to the hospital.
The Post reports:
The agent, Chris Yves Dabel, discovered the device at the Terminal 2 security checkpoint and tried to determine if it was real, a source told The Post.
He told Port Authority cops that he “found the canister on the floor and thought it was a laser pointer.”
“They were playing around with it,” said one Kennedy Airport official.

Hero: Man writes 4th Amendment on chest, strips to shorts at TSA checkpoint, gets detained, wins $250 ,000 lawsuit...

Today's feel good story is via Wired:
A Virginia man who wrote an abbreviated version of the Fourth Amendment on his body and stripped to his shorts at an airport security screening area won a trial Friday in his lawsuit seeking $250,000 in damages for being detained on a disorderly conduct charge.

Aaron Tobey claimed in a civil rights lawsuit (.pdf) that in 2010 he was handcuffed and held for about 90 minutes by the Transportation Security Administration at the Richmond International Airport after he began removing his clothing to display on his chest a magic-marker protest of airport security measures.

“Amendment 4: The right of the people to be secure against unreasonable searches and seizures shall not be violated,” his chest and gut read.
Bonus: Judge quoted Ben Franklin in opinion.

TSA Screener Heartache: Naked Scanners Going Away...

How will TSA recruit without offering the opportunity to view naked scanners? I guess they will have to push the crotch groping...

Via AP:

Those airport scanners with their all-too revealing body images will soon be going away.
The Transportation Security Administration says the scanners that used a low-dose X-ray will be gone by June because the company that makes them can't fix the privacy issues. The other airport body scanners, which produce a generic outline instead of a naked image, are staying.

The government rapidly stepped up its use of body scanners after a man snuck explosives onto a flight bound for Detroit on Christmas day in 2009.

At first, both types of scanners showed travelers naked. The idea was that security workers could spot both metallic objects like guns as well as non-metallic items such as plastic explosives. The scanners also showed every other detail of the passenger's body, too.

The TSA defended the scanners, saying the images couldn't be stored and were seen only by a security worker who didn't interact with the passenger. But the scans still raised privacy concerns. Congress ordered that the scanners either produce a more generic image or be removed by June.

TSA whistle-blower: TSA officers routinely laugh at and make fun of passengers’ nude body scanner images...

If you haven't already suspected this kind of abuse was true, you are a clueless idiot...
A former TSA screener turned blogger who is now causing embarrassment for the federal agency has revealed that TSA officers routinely laugh at and make fun of passengers’ nude body scanner images in back rooms.
In a blog entitled Taking Sense Away, the anonymous ex-TSA worker reveals how he, “Witnessed light sexual play among officers, a lot of e-cigarette vaping, and a whole lot of officers laughing and clowning in regard to some of your nude images, dear passengers.”
The revelation was in response to a reader who asked, “Tell us, please, what really happens in that private room and why the TSA does not want it seen in public nor recorded.”
The ex-TSA screener also ridiculed the existence of I.O. rooms (image operator rooms) where naked images produced by body scanners are viewed by TSA agents.

Ironic: TSA security measures are actually killing more people than terrorists could ever hope...

Before you dismiss the headline as ridiculous, please consider the facts. The crotch groping, naked scanning and long security lines have driven many people to void the airport and take to the road. Terrorists would have to blow up 4 planes full of passengers a month to equal the carnage that occurs on our highways. TSA is killing us...
Compare the dangers of air travel to those of driving. To make flying as dangerous as using a car, a four-plane disaster on the scale of 9/11 would have to occur every month, according to analysis published in the American Scientist. Researchers at Cornell University suggest that people switching from air to road transportation in the aftermath of the 9/11 attacks led to an increase of 242 driving fatalities per month—which means that a lot more people died on the roads as an indirect result of 9/11 than died from being on the planes that terrible day. They also suggest that enhanced domestic baggage screening alone reduced passenger volume by about 5 percent in the five years after 9/11, and the substitution of driving for flying by those seeking to avoid security hassles over that period resulted in more than 100 road fatalities.

White House cuts short time for petition requiring TSA to follow the law

 Images: TSA

The White house has pulled the plug on a petition requiring TSA to follow the law.
At approximately 11:30 am EDT, the White House removed a petition about the TSA airport screening procedures from the White House "We the People" website. About 22,500 of the 25,000 signatures necessary for a response from the Administration were obtained when the White House unexpectedly cut short the time period for the petition.
A year ago, a federal court ordered TSA to hold public hearings on their nude body scanners and screening methods. TSA has failed to comply.
A federal appeals court Wednesday ordered the Transportation Security Administration to explain why it hasn’t complied with the court’s year-old decision demanding the agency hold public hearings concerning the rules and regulations pertaining to the so-called nude body scanners installed in U.S. airport security checkpoints.
The U.S. Circuit Court of Appeals for the District of Columbia Circuit’s brief order came in response to the third request by the Electronic Privacy Information Center for the court to enforce its order.
The petition would have required the White House to respond. It was very close to the required number.

Fail: TSA Screener With Middle-Eastern Sounding Name Forgets to Plug in Metal Detector

What could possible go wrong?

Via New York Post:
The TSA’s bungling reached a new low yesterday when a JFK Airport terminal had to be evacuated and hundreds of passengers marched back through security screening all because one dimwitted agent failed to realize his metal detector had been unplugged, sources told The Post.
The stunning error led to hours of delays, two planes called back from the runway and infinite frustration for furious passengers.[...]
The chaos at Terminal 7 was caused by screener Alija Abdul Majed, who had manned Lane No. 1 during the morning shift with no idea his metal detector had no juice, sources said.

Amazingly, he failed to realize that alert lights never flashed once as streams of passengers filed through the dead detector, the sources said.

Majed was so clueless that he couldn’t even tell police how long the machine had been shut off or how it happened, the sources said.

“It was simply an unplugged machine — the TSA doing its best,” another source said.

TSA agents accused of paying instructor to pass test

You have to pay to pass a TSA test? How much knowledge does it take to grope someones crotch? These people must be real morons.
PHILADELPHIA (CBS) – The Transportation Security Administration announced Friday that they intend to fire seven of their employees following the discovery of a bribery scandal at the Philadelphia International Airport.

After an eight month investigation, authorities say a TSA training instructor who was responsible for administering annual proficiency exams was found to have accepted payment from TSA security officers to ensure passing grades.

A total of ten employees were removed from security duties when the investigation began in November of last year. Since then, three employees have resigned and the seven others were notified by the TSA that they will lose their jobs.

TSA tries to kill insulin dependent diabetic teen

TSA forced an insulin dependent diabetic teen to go through a body scanner with an in insulin pump. The x-rays killed the pump. TSA then forced the teen to undergo an invasive pat-down. Her crime? She had fruit juice to control blood-sugar levels. Can we start the profiling now?
Savannah said she approached a TSA agent with a letter from her physician in hand. That letter explained her special medical needs while traveling by air. She said she pointed out her insulin pump and the TSA agent directed her to the full body scan.

"I was like, 'Are you sure that I can go through with this insulin pump? It’s not going to hurt the pump at all?' And she was like, ‘No, no, you’re fine.’ So I went through with my pump. Some part of me knew that it wasn’t OK, but when someone in a position of authority is telling you it is, you think that it’s right,” said Barry...

As soon as she finished with her security screening, Savannah said she felt something was wrong.
She called her mother, who called the maker of the insulin pump, Animas."They said she’s got to take that pump off as soon as she lands. And my heart just sank, because I know how expensive they are. I knew how upset she would be, and I knew that I had to be the one, when I got to DIA, to tell her," said Sandra....
Animas said "its insulin pump cannot go through x-ray as it can damage the software and affect the insulin delivery. The newest technology in airport security, Advanced Imaging Technology (AIT), commonly referred to as full body scanner technology ... is also a form of x-ray. The insulin pump should not be exposed to this form of scanning."

Prepare for your TSA sponsored body cavity search at the airport

Al-Qaida has upgraded their underwear bomb to nonmetallic. Also, they are experimenting with implantable bombs.
WASHINGTON (AP) — The CIA thwarted an ambitious plot by al-Qaida’s affiliate in Yemen to destroy a U.S.-bound airliner using a bomb with a sophisticated new design around the one-year anniversary of the killing of Osama bin Laden, The Associated Press has learned.

The plot involved an upgrade of the underwear bomb that failed to detonate aboard a jetliner over Detroit on Christmas 2009. This new bomb was also designed to be used in a passenger’s underwear, but this time al-Qaida developed a more refined detonation system, U.S. officials said.

The FBI is examining the latest bomb to see whether it could have passed through airport security and brought down an airplane, officials said. They said the device did not contain metal, meaning it probably could have passed through an airport metal detector. But it was not clear whether new body scanners used in many airports would have detected it.

The would-be suicide bomber, based in Yemen, had not yet picked a target or bought his plane tickets when the CIA stepped in and seized the bomb, officials said. It’s not immediately clear what happened to the alleged bomber.
