TSA will check grannies depends, but the Muslim Brotherhood gets a free pass...

Team Obama is taking good care of the Muslim bros.

Via IPT:
Newly released records confirm a 2012 Investigative Project on Terrorism (IPT) report that the State Department cleared the way for a visiting delegation of Muslim Brotherhood officials to enter the country without undergoing routine inspection by U.S. Customs and Border Protection agents.

The April 2012 visit came before the Muslim Brotherhood's candidate was elected Egypt's president, although the Brotherhood's Freedom and Justice Party (FJP) had won a plurality of seats in parliamentary elections. The expedited entry is known as a "port courtesy" normally reserved for high-ranking visiting government officials and dignitaries.

Feel Good Story: Egypt court bans Muslim Brotherhood and seizes all assets...

Barack Obama hardest hit...

Via Fox News:
CAIRO – An Egyptian court on Monday ordered the Muslim Brotherhood to be banned and its assets confiscated in a dramatic escalation of a crackdown by the military-backed government against supporters of the ousted Islamist president Mohammed Morsi.
The ruling opens the door for a wider crackdown on the vast network of the Brotherhood, which includes social organizations that have been key for building the group’s grassroots support and helping its election victories. The verdict banned the group itself — including the official association it registered under earlier this year — as well as “any institution branching out of it or … receiving financial support from it,” according to the court ruling, made public on Egypt’s state official news agency MENA.
The judge at the Cairo Court for Urgent Matters also ordered the “confiscation of all the group’s money, assets, and buildings” and said that an independent committee should be formed by the Cabinet to manage the money until final court orders are issued. The verdict can be appealed.

Real Good News: The The Muslim Brotherhood is losing in Egypt...

In Middle east conflicts. it's hard to find a good guy. One thing is certain, the Muslim Brotherhood are bad guys.
Cairo, Asharq Al-Awsat—The Muslim Brotherhood’s attempts to organize protests to demand the reinstatement of ousted president Mohamed Mursi on Friday ended quietly as the total number of protesters declined markedly from previous weeks.
The small turnout prompted speculations over a drop in the group’s popularity among Egyptians.
Pro-Mursi protests were met with public condemnation across Egypt, and anti-Brotherhood protesters reportedly attacked Islamists and tore down their placards.
Those overseeing the situation in Egypt attributed the small turnout to the absence of communication among Brotherhood members and protest organizers, as well as the heightened security measures.
Beginning in the early hours of Friday, Egypt’s security forces stepped up their preparations near key locations across the country.
“Security forces tightened security in key institutions and squares, so that what happened last week would not be repeated,” a security source told Asharq Al-Awsat.
“The interior ministry does not object to any protest, providing it is peaceful,” the same source added.
Brotherhood supporters scrambled to find a foothold in Cairo after the Friday prayers, but the security forces closed off the Tahrir and Ramses squares, as well as Rabaa Al-Adawiya, the former Brotherhood stronghold.
The military seem to realize they are winning. they are easing the curfew.
AFP - Egypt is to shorten its night-time curfew by two hours, pushing back the start time to 9:00 pm (1900 GMT) except on Fridays, the premier's office said on Saturday.

Amusing: 22 Egyptian members of Al Jazeera resign because of Muslim Brotherhood favoritism...

Perhaps they can get a job with Obama's State Department...

Via Gulf News:
The news channel Al Jazeera Mubasher Misr saw 22 members of staff resign on Monday in Egypt over what they alleged was coverage that was out of sync with real events in Egypt.
Anchor Karem Mahmoud announced that the staff had resigned in protest against what he called “biased coverage” of the events in Egypt by the Qatari broadcaster.
Mahmoud said that the resignations had been brought about by a perceived lack of commitment and Al Jazeera professionalism in media coverage, adding that “the management in
Doha provokes sedition among the Egyptian people and has an agenda against Egypt and other Arab countries.”
Mahmoud added that the management used to instruct each staff member to favour the Muslim Brotherhood.

Unlikely: Muslim Brotherhood in Egypt claims interim President is a Jew...

When in trouble, blame the Jews...

Via JPost:
The Muslim Brotherhood claimed in a post on its official website that Egypt’s new interim president Adli Mansour is Jewish, The Washington Post reported on Friday. The article on IkhwanOnline was subsequently removed.
Mansour, who previously served as the constitutional court’s chief justice was sworn in as interim president on Thursdayafter the army removed Islamist President Mohamed Morsi from power.
According to the Post, the article falsely stated that Mansour is “considered to be a Seventh Day Adventist, which is a Jewish sect.”
The authors also claimed that the Pope of Egypt’s Coptic church had refused to convert Mansour to Christianity.
The article on IkhwanOnline, according to the Post, posited that Mansour’s appointment was backed by Israel and the US as part of a plan to eventually install leading opposition figure and former IAEA chief Mohamed ElBardei as president.

Shameful: The Muslim Brotherhood now has $1.3 billion of your tax dollars...

Why are we giving money and weapons to people who hate us and think we are infidels?  Check out the lies John Kerry had to certify to release the money.
(Reuters) – Secretary of State John Kerry quietly acted last month to give Egypt $1.3 billion in U.S. military aid, deciding that this was in the national interest despite Egypt’s failure to meet democracy standards.
Kerry made the decision well before an Egyptian court this week convicted 43 democracy workers, including 16 Americans, in what the United States regards as a politically motivated case against pro-democracy non-governmental organizations.
Rights groups believe Egyptian President Mohamed Mursi is retreating from democratic freedoms, notably in a new civil society law and in proposals for judicial reform that critics see as a way to purge judges perceived as hostile to the government.
Despite stating in a May 9 memo that “we are not satisfied with the extent of Egypt’s progress and are pressing for a more inclusive democratic process and the strengthening of key democratic institutions,” Kerry said the aid should go forward.
Under U.S. law, for the $1.3 billion to flow the secretary of state must certify that the Egyptian government “is supporting the transition to civilian government, including holding free and fair elections, implementing policies to protect freedom of expression, association and religion, and due process of law.”

Muslim Brotherhood Offices Torched in Egypt...

It seems not everyone is happy about  Egyptian President Mohammed Morsi's power grab.

Protesters set fire on Friday to the offices of the Muslim Brotherhood, the party of Egyptian President Mohammed Morsi, a day after he assumed broad new powers not subject to appeal. Pro- and anti-Morsi rallies erupted in cities across Egypt.

Protesters torched Muslim Brotherhood offices on Friday, state media said, as supporters and opponents of President Mohamed Morsi staged rival rallies across Egypt a day after he assumed sweeping powers.
The offices of the Freedom and Justice Party (FJP), the Muslim Brotherhood's political arm, were set ablaze in the canal cities of Ismailiya and Port Said, state television said.

Arab Spring Update: Muslim Brotherhood to Take Over Leadership of Libya

Is this really an improvement?
(Telegraph) — Libya’s top politicians have hatched a deal that would see the Muslim Brotherhood lead the government after the country’s first free elections in almost five decades takes place on Sunday.

While the elections for a 200-member National Congress is unlikely to grant a majority to any one faction, the Muslim Brotherhood and its Islamist allies are confident they can join their counterparts in Tunisia and Egypt at the helm of leadership.

Negotiations between the Muslim Brotherhood and a secular-based political movement led by former interim prime minister Mahmoud Jibril have focused on forming a post-election government as soon as the result is known.

An adviser to Mr Jibril said the former prime minister was likely to take the post of figurehead president with Mustafa Abu Shagour, currently interim deputy prime minister of the
Muslim Brotherhood, taking the prime minister’s slot as head of government.

He will never see a day in prison. Islamist will call this justifiable homicide.

Via Arutz Sheva:

According to police reports, the initial argument between the unnamed couple escalated into a violent death, despite the pleas of the battered and bruised wife. She was reported to have died at the hospital from injuries sustained.

Domestic fights have dominated Egyptian news headlines when the bid fell on the two most feared and most controversial candidates, Mursi and former prime minister Ahmed Shafiq, Al-Arabiya news reported.

Arab Spring Fail: Muslim Brotherhood's Mohammed Mursi has been declared the winner of Egypt's presidential election

This is a big setback for those opposed to Islamic fundamentalism. I am not sure President Obama is in that group...

Via BBC:
The Muslim Brotherhood's Mohammed Mursi has been declared the winner of Egypt's presidential election run-off.

He won 51.73% of the vote, beating former PM Ahmed Shafiq, the Higher Presidential Election Commission said.

The head of the panel of judges, Farouq Sultan, said it had upheld some of the 466 complaints by the candidates, but that the election result still stood.

The announcement prompted scenes of jubilation in Cairo's Tahrir Square, where Mr Mursi's supporters gathered.

Muslim Brotherhood: We have won Egypt’s presidential election

President Obama secretly most pleased...
CAIRO (AP) — The Muslim Brotherhood has declared that its candidate, Mohammed Morsi, won Egypt’s presidential election.
Morsi “is the first civilian, popularly elected Egyptian president,” the group says on its website.
The declaration was based on returns the Brotherhood reported from 95 percent of the more than 13,000 polling stations nationwide. The returns showed Morsi with 52 percent of the vote, his opponent former prime minister Ahmed Shafiq with 48 percent. A million votes separated the two, which a Brotherhood spokesman said the remaining votes could not overcome the difference for Shafiq.
The figures were from results announced by election officials at individual counting centers, where each campaign has representatives who compile the numbers and make them public before the formal announcement. The Brotherhood’s early, partial counts proved generally accurate in last month’s first round vote.
The final official result is to be announced by Thursday.

Leading candidate in Egypt’s presidential race is a "longtime Muslim Brother" and a "9/11 Truther"

Welcome to the aftermath of Arab Spring...
(Washington Times) — An Islamist who believes that the 9/11 terrorist attacks on the United States were an American conspiracy is the front-runner in Egypt’s presidential race, a new poll shows.

Abdel-Moneim Abolfotoh, formerly a leading figure in the Muslim Brotherhood, led the field of 13 candidates with 32 percent of the vote in a survey released Monday by the Washington-based Brookings Institution.
Mr. Abolfotoh expressed his views on the Sept. 11, 2001, attacks on the World Trade Center and the Pentagon in an interview last year with Egypt scholar Eric Trager.

Mr. Trager, now with the Washington Institute for Near East Policy, quoted Mr. Abolfotoh as saying:
“It was too big an operation …. They [the United States] didn’t bring this crime before the U.S. justice system until now. Why? Because it’s part of a conspiracy.” [...]

The Washington Institute’s Mr. Trager said that “the notion thatAbolfotoh is some kind of progressive is farcical.”

“He is a longtime Muslim Brother, a founder of the Islamist student movements of the 1970s, and somebody who still calls for implementing the Shariah,” he said. “His falling out with the Brotherhood was over differences regarding strategy and internal administration, not ideology.”[...]

Egyptian Muslim Brotherhood dreaming of an Islamic caliphate

President Obama seen nodding in approval...

Via IPT:
Having swept into majorities in Egypt’s parliament, a Muslim Brotherhood spokesman is making it clear the group has ambitions far beyond Cairo.
“Concerning the Islamic caliphate, this is our dream, and we hope to achieve it, even after centuries,” Brotherhood spokesman Mahmoud Ghuzlan told Egypt’s Ahram news outlet in an interview Sunday. “It is the right of the Brotherhood that this is one of the pillars of its strategy. We are not concerned about the renaissance of the group only. Rather our first goal is the renaissance of Egypt, then the Arab world and then the Islamic world. This will come gradually.”
Ghuzlan’s statement echoes comments Brotherhood Supreme Guide Mohammed Badie made during a speech in late December. In it, Badie explained Brotherhood founder Hassan al-Banna’s original agenda remains intact. “It begins with the reform of the individual and then to start building the family and society, then the government; then the rightly guided caliphate, then instructing the world; instructing guidance, wisdom, truth and justice.”
Neither Badie’s comments nor Ghuzlan’s interview have been picked up by American news media.

Will Egypt’s Westernized elite flee the country?

I would if I lived in Egypt.
CAIRO (AFP) — For decades, Egypt’s Westernised elite kept the country’s growing religosity at arm’s length, but a projected Islamist surge in the first post-revolution polls has driven many to think of moving abroad.
Sporting the latest fashions and mingling in upmarket country clubs, Egypt’s rich fear a victory for the Muslim Brotherhood and hardline Salafis in the first phase of parliamentary elections presages change ahead.
“I hope they don’t impose the veil and ban women from driving like in Saudi Arabia,” said coquettish fifty-something Naglaa Fahmi from her gym in the leafy neighbourhood of Zamalek.
In a nearby luxury hotel, Nardine — one of Egypt’s eight million Coptic Christians who are alarmed by the prospect of a new Islamist-dominated parliament — is pondering a move aroad.
“My father is seriously thinking about sending me and my brothers elsewhere because he thinks we won’t have a future in the country with the Salafis,” said the banker in her twenties.
Ten months after a popular uprising ended the 30-year autocratic rule of Hosni Mubarak, millions of Egyptians embraced their new democratic freedoms earlier this week at the start of multi-stage parliamentary elections.
The preliminary results to be published on Friday were expected to show the moderate Muslim Brotherhood as the dominant force, but with a surprisingly strong showing from the hardline Al-Nur party.
Its leaders advocate the fundamentalist brand of Salafi Islam, rejecting Western culture and favouring strict segregation of the sexes and the veiling of women.
Note: The writer of this article called the Muslim Brotherhood moderate. Many think they will impose sharia in Egypt.

Muslim Brotherhood Leader Calls America "World's Biggest Terrorist"

The New Muslim Brotherhood in the West (Columbia Studies in Terrorism and Irregular Warfare)

Here is what Obama's Director of National Intelligence said about the Muslim Brotherhood during the Egyptian revolution.
"The term 'Muslim Brotherhood'...is an umbrella term for a variety of movements, in the case of Egypt, a very heterogeneous group, largely secular, which has eschewed violence and has decried Al Qaeda as a perversion of Islam," Clapper said. "They have pursued social ends, a betterment of the political order in Egypt, et cetera.....In other countries, there are also chapters or franchises of the Muslim Brotherhood, but there is no overarching agenda, particularly in pursuit of violence, at least internationally."
Here is what the Muslim Brotherhood has to say about the U.S.
(IPT) — The United States has spread terrorism throughout the world under the guise of working toward world peace, senior Muslim Brotherhood leader Kamal Helbawytold attendees at last weekend’s International Conference on Global Alliance against Terrorism for a Just Peace in Tehran.
As such, the nation that “destroyed Hiroshima and Nagasaki…created terror in Korea and Vietnam…attacked Iraq and Afghanistan, and at the same time is blindly supporting Israel,” should be viewed as the world’s biggest terrorist, Helbawy said in written remarks posted on the conference’s website.

The Allegedly Secular Muslim Brotherhood Wants to Install an Islamic State in Egypt

The Muslim Brotherhood: The Organization and Policies of a Global Islamist Movement (The Middle East in Focus)
Who was the moron who claimed the Muslim Brotherhood was secular? That was President Obama's National Intelligence James Clapper.
EGYPT — Mahmoud Ezzat, the Muslim Brotherhood’s deputy Supreme Guide, said in a forum held in the Cairo district of Imbaba on Thursday that the group wants to establish an Islamic state after it achieves widespread popularity through its Freedom and Justice Party. Meanwhile, Brotherhood leader Saad al-Husseiny, said at the forum that the group aims to apply Islamic legislation and establish Islamic rule. His remarks rattled the leaders of several political parties, who said the statements, which were at odds with the concept of a civil state, would worry liberals.

Muslim Brotherhood Seizes Control of Egyptian Revolution

The Muslim Brotherhood: The Organization and Policies of a Global Islamist Movement (The Middle East in Focus)

Nobody saw this coming. (snark)
(NYT)- “There is evidence the Brotherhood struck some kind of a deal with the military early on,” said Elijah Zarwan, a senior analyst with the International Crisis Group. “It makes sense if you are the military — you want stability and people off the street. The Brotherhood is one address where you can go to get 100,000 people off the street.” . . .

“We are all worried,” said Amr Koura, 55, a television producer, reflecting the opinions of the secular minority. “The young people have no control of the revolution anymore. It was evident in the last few weeks when you saw a lot of bearded people taking charge. The youth are gone.”

National Intelligence Chief James Clapper is still clueless

The Muslim Brotherhood: The Burden of Tradition

This time he can't figure out what the Muslim Brotherhood's agenda is.
BARACK Obama’s top US intelligence official has pledged to step up “observation” of the Muslim Brotherhood after admitting to ignorance of its agenda in Egypt.

James Clapper, the President’s director of national intelligence, conceded yesterday that he was unclear about the group’s attitude to Iran, Egypt’s peace treaty with Israel or arms-smuggling to Gaza.

Challenged by members of the US Senate intelligence committee yesterday, Mr Clapper said: “It is hard to, at this point, to point to a specific agenda of the Muslim Brotherhood as a group.”
Here are a couple of points from the Muslim Brotherhood's English site: (accent is mine)
– Insist to liberate the Islamic nation from the yoke of foreign rule, help safeguard the rights of Muslims everywhere and unite Muslims around the world.

–The Islamic nation must be fully prepared to fight the tyrants and the enemies of Allah as a prelude to establishing an Islamic state.
I guess National Intelligence Chief James Clapper doesn't get on the Internet much.
