Unbelievable: Democrats pushing legislation to allow immigrants easier access to relocate to the US
Trading votes for American lives...
Via Free Beacon:
Via Free Beacon:
Congress is set to vote on Thursday on what some have called an “unprecedented” right that would allow immigrants easier access to relocate to the United States, according to new legislation offered by a Democratic senator.
The legislation, which is being offered by Sen. Patrick Leahy (D., Vt.) as an amendment to a larger bill governing nuclear safety, would prohibit the U.S. government from barring any individual from entering the country based on their religion.
The bill comes amid a fierce national debate about immigration to America, particularly for individuals coming from Muslim-majority nations. Critics of the Obama administration’s refugee plan, which would permit up to 10,000 Syrians into the country, maintain that there are not enough oversight measures in place to ensure that immigrants are not linked to terrorists or various terror organizations, such as the Islamic State.

Obama Unilaterally Changes Immigration Law One More Time (H1B Visas)
It's good to be king.
Administration lawyers ‘reinterpret’ the law to greatly increase visas for technology firms. Last week Senate Judiciary Committee chairman Chuck Grassley hit back against Obama’s Department of Homeland Security (DHS) after the agency pushed through, during a congressional recess, a major immigration item that has long been on the technology lobby’s wish list. According to a new “policy memorandum,” Obama’s immigration authorities will now be redefining the term “specialized knowledge” as it applies to the L-1B visa, a program previously aimed at bringing over highly sought-after “intracompany transferees” from American firms’ affiliated companies abroad. No doubt burned by Congress’s “stubborn” refusal to raise the cap on annual cap on H-1B visas (which are “skilled” temporary non-immigrant worker visas) the Obama administration, at the behest of Big Tech lobbyists, has told its agency lawyers to think up a clever alternative. In a strongly worded letter to Obama’s immigration authorities, Grassley, a 35-year Senate veteran, closely outlines the legal and practical faults of the new policy and demands answers from the agency regarding its purported authority for the move.

Scary: Obama has let over 750,000 Muslim immigrants into the U.S.
What are the odds some of these new immigrants are sympathizers, if not actual members, of ISIS and Al Qaeda?

Obvious: Lincoln Chafee said support for increased immigration will result in more votes for the Democratic Party.
If Hispanics were mostly Republican, Democrats would want a wall with razor wire on the southern border.

Companies using H-1B visas to replace Americans with foreign workers...
This is shameful. Name, shame and boycott the companies involved. Call your Congressman and Senators.
Via Fox News:
Via Fox News:
A popular visa program allegedly is being misused by U.S. companies to lay off thousands of American workers and replace them with foreign labor.
And, adding insult to injury, many of the laid-off workers allegedly have been forced to train their replacements, in what one anonymous whistleblower called a “humiliating” experience.
The allegations have caught the attention of a bipartisan group of senators — including immigration hawk Sen. Jeff Sessions, R-Ala., and the No. 2 Senate Democrat, Illinois’ Dick Durbin — who are calling for a federal probe. A letter sent by 10 senators urging an investigation specifically cited reports of the firing and hiring practices at Southern California Edison, California’s second-largest utility. The incidents are concentrated in the IT field, and involve American workers being replaced by H-1B visa holders.
“A number of U.S. employers, including some large, well-known, publicly-traded corporations, have reportedly laid off thousands of American workers and replaced them with H-1B visa holders,” the senators wrote.

Since enough Central Americans aren't sneaking across the border, the Obama administration is going to fly some more in for free...
You can't make stuff this stupid up...
Via Fox News:
Via Fox News:
Images of unaccompanied children flooding across the U.S.-Mexico border defined the immigration crisis last summer.
Now, the federal government is intervening so these children won’t have to make that trek -– they’ll get to fly into the U.S. instead. For free.
A new State Department and Department of Homeland Security program seeks to stop the surge of immigrant children from Honduras, Guatemala, and El Salvador at the southern border by giving their U.S.-based parents the option to apply to have their kids picked up and put on a plane, without paying a penny.
The parents are eligible as long as they have some sort of legal status. As first reported in The Daily Caller, this would include permanent residents and even illegal immigrants given a work permit and deportation reprieve under President Obama’s recent executive actions, though much of that is on hold due to a pending court case. Of them, those with children under 21 and living in El Salvador, Guatemala or Honduras reportedly could apply.

Change: 20% pf people in U.S. don't speak English at home...
That number has doubled in the last three decades. In order for our democracy to survive, we must have more in common than in differences. A common language is a powerful bond.
Via Washington Times:
Via Washington Times:
One-fifth of people in the U.S. speak a foreign language at home, according to a report being released Monday by the Center for Immigration Studies, which found Arabic and Urdu — the national language of Pakistan — among the fastest-growing.
The report found that nearly half of all California school-age children speak a language other than English at home, as do a third of Texans and Nevadans, according to the report, which is based on Census Bureau numbers.
Three decades ago, 10 percent of residents spoke a foreign language at home, but a surge of immigration and changing cultural patterns have sent the percentage skyrocketing. More than 40 percent of those who spoke a foreign language at home said they speak English less than proficiently.

Strange: Apparently, you can bribe an immigration officer with egg rolls
No so surprisingly, cash works too.
Via Examiner:
A U.S. immigration officer was sentenced on October 3, 2014 to two and a half years in federal prison, for accepting bribes in the form of cash and egg rolls from applicants seeking citizenship and green cards.
Mai Nhu Nguyen, 48, served with U.S. Citizenship and Immigration Services in Santa Ana for eight years. She pleaded guilty to receiving bribes as a public official between July 2011 and May 2013. As an immigration service officer, Nguyen had the authority to approve or deny immigration applications.
In one of the instances of bribery, Nguyen called a vendor to order 300 egg rolls. She then told an immigration applicant to pay for the $150 food order and deliver it to her workplace. Once the task was performed, Nguyen proceeded to approve the immigrant’s paperwork.

Obvious: Demo Rep. Henry Cuellar blames Obama for underage immigration crisis...
I am surprised candy Crowley's head didn't explode.
Via NewsBusters:
CANDY CROWLEY: Do you think the President will get the $2 billion plus that he's asking for to meet this emergency situation with more help at the border, more social workers to deal with the children?
REP. HENRY CUELLAR: Well, again we got border patrol securing the border right now as you can see behind us but the President has asked for some money, he certainly can move some money around, and we can handle that at the end if we want to. Again, let's keep in mind with all due respect to the administration they are one step behind. They should have seen this coming a long time ago. They should have seen this a long time ago because we saw those numbers increasing. We are hoping we can get that money so we can provide more detention spaces, more flights down there, and again, if we put those young children and those mothers in the right caregivers in those countries I think this would solve. There is an incentive, there is an incentive that if you bring a child over here or your child by themselves, you're going to be let go. And that is exactly what is happening. Our immigration courts are so backlogged, there is not enough detention spaces and therefore this is the incentive that we have to take away and that is the 2008 human trafficking law that needs to be changed at this time.
CANDY CROWLEY: Congressman, I want to give the mayor the last word because I hear him agreeing with you but first before I leave the congressman, President Obama is coming to Texas this week. As I understand it at least thus far he has no plans to visit the border. How does that strike you?
CUELLAR: Well, again it would be nice for him to come down to the border but again with all due respect I think he is still one step behind. They knew this was happening a year ago. Last year and again they are not reacting fast enough at this time in my opinion.

Amnesty Blow-back: Sen. Marco Rubio tied for 6th in New Hampshire 2016 poll...
Sen. Marco
Rubio has done serious damage to his image and credibility with Republicans and Conservatives. Supporting Sen. Chuck Schumer's "Gang of Eight" amnesty without border security bill has cost him. Senate democrats were desperate to get Rubio on-board. it's unclear why he signed on for and campaigned for such a bad deal. The Schumer bill will legalize more than 11 million new democratic borders and has no serious enforcement of border security.
The latest Granite State poll by WMUR and the University of New Hampshire was released late on Tuesday and it shows U.S. Sen. Marco Rubio, R-Fla., sinking in New Hampshire, home of the first presidential primary. Rubio is expected to run for the Republican presidential nomination in 2016. In recent months. Rubio has drawn fire from conservatives for his prominent role in supporting immigration reform.Ted Cruz identified the flaws in the bill Rubio supported in this letter:
The poll finds New Hampshire Republicans divided on who they want to see as their party’s nominee in 2016. Gov. Chris Christie of New Jersey leads the pack with 21 percent followed by U.S. Sen. Rand Paul, R-Ky., with 16 percent. Former Gov. Jeb Bush of Florida is in third with 10 percent followed by U.S. Rep. Paul Ryan, R-Wis., with 8 percent and Rubio with 6 percent. Former U.S. Sen. Rick Santorum of Pennsylvania is tied with two Texans -- Gov. Rick Perry and U.S. Sen. Ted Cruz -- in sixth with 4 percent each. Gov. Scott Walker of Wisconsin takes 2 percent. Gov. Bobby Jindal of Louisiana and two Ohio Republicans -- Gov. John Kasich and U.S. Sen. Rob Portman -- all take less than 1 percent.

Uber RINO John McCain wants to get rid of extra border agents in Gang of Eight immigration bill
McCain should just go on and come out as a Democrat...
Via Politico:
Via Politico:
Sen. John McCain (R-Ariz.) signaled Tuesday that the dramatic boost in border-security in the Senate’s comprehensive immigration bill could be one of the provisions that may be changed in a potential House-Senate compromise.
During an immigration forum hosted by the AFL-CIO Tuesday, McCain – a key Senate Gang of Eight negotiator – said while a pathway to citizenship for the nation’s undocumented immigrants is a “fundamental element” of the bill, the “rest of it could be adjusted.” He singled out the border security parts as an example.
“We don’t need 20,000 additional border patrol agents,” McCain said Tuesday. “But what we do need is use of technology that has been developed where we can survey the border more effectively.”

Unlikely: White House claims immigration reform would result in a 5.4 percent growth in GDP
Don't believe it. The White House has proven they have no idea how to improve the economy.
Via Washington Examiner:
Via Washington Examiner:
A fight has erupted over the costs of granting amnesty to the estimated 11 million illegal immigrants in America, with the White House claiming the cash benefits to the Treasury are huge and will slash the deficit, and critics showing it will cost Americans more and increase the deficit.
The White House late Thursday dispatched an email to President Obama’s campaign supporters that provided a video claiming that immigration reform will result in a 5.4 percent growth in GDP as “highly skilled” workers and “entrepreneurs” add to the country’s economic base. No mention was made of low-skilled workers, the bulk of illegal immigrants in the country.
“Here’s one of the best things about immigration reform: It’s going to make our economy a lot stronger,” said the White House. “Not enough people are talking about the economic benefits of immigration reform, but it’s exactly the conversation that will help us win the national debate on this issue.”

Flashback: Democrats claim they will build an real border fence, but in 2011 DHS Janet Napolitano cancelled a virtual border fence...
Gang of Eight Immigration Reform Bill supporters would have us believe Obama, Napolitano and Democrats will build a real fence when the Obama administration unilaterally cancelled building a virtual one. Don't believe it for a minute. Congress mandated a real fence with the Secure fence Act of 2006. The Obama administration changed 1,300 miles to a virtual fence and then cancelled that half way effort.
(CNN) -- Homeland Security Secretary Janet Napolitano on Friday canceled the controversial virtual fence along the U.S. border with Mexico, citing technical problems, cost overruns and schedule delays since its inception in 2005.
The Secure Border Initiative-network, a high-tech surveillance system to reduce border smuggling, so far has cost taxpayers almost $1 billion for two regions in Arizona, covering just 53 miles overall on the 2,000-mile border, according to a homeland security report.
Napolitano announced "a new path forward for security technology" along the border that is tailored to the needs of each region and provides "faster deployment of technology, better coverage, and a more effective balance between cost and capability," she said in a prepared statement.

Unlikely: Charlie Rangel is worried about the future of the Republican Party or something...
Since when does Charlie Rangel give a rat's arse about Republicans?
Via NRO:
Charlie Rangel is just looking out for the Republican party in urging his House colleagues to support the immigration-reform bill.
“I would hate for them to see themselves just go out of business and we don’t have this competitive form of ideas in our great country,” the New York Democrat told Fox News this weekend. “It’s the right thing for the country, and it certainly is a right thing to make certain we have two parties competing against each other.”

I am calling BS on the CBO report showing Gang of Eight Immigration Bill reduces budget deficit and here is why...
Check out the revenue sources for the 1st 10 yeas in this screen capture from the report. I have highlighted the off budget revenues ($214.3 billion) in red. These are mostly from social security payroll taxes. Keep in mind most of the newly legalized immigrants will be years from retirement and the few that are close won't have a lot of years paying in to raise their benefit level. As you might expect off budget the outlay in the 1st ten years is very small. Actually, it's only $2.6 billion (highlight in blue) of the expected $216.8 billion in expected new spending. If you don't consider off budget items such as social security, there is a $14.2 billion deficit. When you consider how optimistic and wrong most CBO projections are (take a look at their first Obamacare projection compared to the most recent), this deficit will balloon significantly in later years. The social security and medicare for these new immigrants will have to be paid eventually.
