The latest Granite State poll by WMUR and the University of New Hampshire was released late on Tuesday and it shows U.S. Sen. Marco Rubio, R-Fla., sinking in New Hampshire, home of the first presidential primary. Rubio is expected to run for the Republican presidential nomination in 2016. In recent months. Rubio has drawn fire from conservatives for his prominent role in supporting immigration reform.Ted Cruz identified the flaws in the bill Rubio supported in this letter:
The poll finds New Hampshire Republicans divided on who they want to see as their party’s nominee in 2016. Gov. Chris Christie of New Jersey leads the pack with 21 percent followed by U.S. Sen. Rand Paul, R-Ky., with 16 percent. Former Gov. Jeb Bush of Florida is in third with 10 percent followed by U.S. Rep. Paul Ryan, R-Wis., with 8 percent and Rubio with 6 percent. Former U.S. Sen. Rick Santorum of Pennsylvania is tied with two Texans -- Gov. Rick Perry and U.S. Sen. Ted Cruz -- in sixth with 4 percent each. Gov. Scott Walker of Wisconsin takes 2 percent. Gov. Bobby Jindal of Louisiana and two Ohio Republicans -- Gov. John Kasich and U.S. Sen. Rob Portman -- all take less than 1 percent.

Amnesty Blow-back: Sen. Marco Rubio tied for 6th in New Hampshire 2016 poll...
Sen. Marco
Rubio has done serious damage to his image and credibility with Republicans and Conservatives. Supporting Sen. Chuck Schumer's "Gang of Eight" amnesty without border security bill has cost him. Senate democrats were desperate to get Rubio on-board. it's unclear why he signed on for and campaigned for such a bad deal. The Schumer bill will legalize more than 11 million new democratic borders and has no serious enforcement of border security.

Unlikely: White House claims immigration reform would result in a 5.4 percent growth in GDP
Don't believe it. The White House has proven they have no idea how to improve the economy.
Via Washington Examiner:
Via Washington Examiner:
A fight has erupted over the costs of granting amnesty to the estimated 11 million illegal immigrants in America, with the White House claiming the cash benefits to the Treasury are huge and will slash the deficit, and critics showing it will cost Americans more and increase the deficit.
The White House late Thursday dispatched an email to President Obama’s campaign supporters that provided a video claiming that immigration reform will result in a 5.4 percent growth in GDP as “highly skilled” workers and “entrepreneurs” add to the country’s economic base. No mention was made of low-skilled workers, the bulk of illegal immigrants in the country.
“Here’s one of the best things about immigration reform: It’s going to make our economy a lot stronger,” said the White House. “Not enough people are talking about the economic benefits of immigration reform, but it’s exactly the conversation that will help us win the national debate on this issue.”

Flashback: Democrats claim they will build an real border fence, but in 2011 DHS Janet Napolitano cancelled a virtual border fence...
Gang of Eight Immigration Reform Bill supporters would have us believe Obama, Napolitano and Democrats will build a real fence when the Obama administration unilaterally cancelled building a virtual one. Don't believe it for a minute. Congress mandated a real fence with the Secure fence Act of 2006. The Obama administration changed 1,300 miles to a virtual fence and then cancelled that half way effort.
(CNN) -- Homeland Security Secretary Janet Napolitano on Friday canceled the controversial virtual fence along the U.S. border with Mexico, citing technical problems, cost overruns and schedule delays since its inception in 2005.
The Secure Border Initiative-network, a high-tech surveillance system to reduce border smuggling, so far has cost taxpayers almost $1 billion for two regions in Arizona, covering just 53 miles overall on the 2,000-mile border, according to a homeland security report.
Napolitano announced "a new path forward for security technology" along the border that is tailored to the needs of each region and provides "faster deployment of technology, better coverage, and a more effective balance between cost and capability," she said in a prepared statement.

NBC's Chuck Todd: "the White House doesn't see a path" to passing an immigration bill by the end of this year"
Let's hope he is right. It's not that conservatives don't support immigration reform, many, if not most , do. The problem is there is no way to get a reasonable immigration reform bill through the Harry Reid and Chuck Schumer controlled Senate and if you did, Obama would veto it. It is better to have no bill than to have a bad bill.

I am calling BS on the CBO report showing Gang of Eight Immigration Bill reduces budget deficit and here is why...
Check out the revenue sources for the 1st 10 yeas in this screen capture from the report. I have highlighted the off budget revenues ($214.3 billion) in red. These are mostly from social security payroll taxes. Keep in mind most of the newly legalized immigrants will be years from retirement and the few that are close won't have a lot of years paying in to raise their benefit level. As you might expect off budget the outlay in the 1st ten years is very small. Actually, it's only $2.6 billion (highlight in blue) of the expected $216.8 billion in expected new spending. If you don't consider off budget items such as social security, there is a $14.2 billion deficit. When you consider how optimistic and wrong most CBO projections are (take a look at their first Obamacare projection compared to the most recent), this deficit will balloon significantly in later years. The social security and medicare for these new immigrants will have to be paid eventually.
CNN Poll: Sixty-two percent think border security should be main focus in immigration reform...
The current Gang of Eight bill puts border security after legalization of illegals. Democrats will have no motivation to support stronger border security at that point. Anyone who believes otherwise is naive.
Via The Washington Examiner:
Via The Washington Examiner:
CNN also asked another question: “What should be the main focus of the U.S. government in dealing with immigration policy?” The possible answers were “Creating a path to citizenship for many immigrants who are in this country without permission from the U.S. government” and “Increasing border security to reduce or eliminate the number of immigrants coming into this country without permission from the U.S. government.”
Sixty-two percent said that increasing border security should be the main focus of the government, while 36 percent said creating a path to citizenship. There were significant differences between the parties. Democrats favored path to citizenship by a 50-49 margin. Independents answered border security by a 65-33 margin. And Republicans favored border security by a 74-24 margin.
The Gang of Eight bill under consideration is based on a sequence in which currently-illegal immigrants are first awarded legal status, and then border security is increased, and then the immigrants move to a path to citizenship.[...] Keep on reading...
Shameful: Rubio, McCain, Graham, and Flake vote against building border fence...
No immigration bill is better than a bad immigration bill...
Via WT:
Via WT:
Senators on Tuesday rejected building the 700 miles of double-tier border fencing Congress authorized just seven years ago, with a majority of the Senate saying they didn’t want to delay granting illegal immigrants legal status while the fence was being built.
The 54-39 vote to reject the fence shows the core of the immigration deal is holding. The vote broke mostly along party lines, though five Republicans, including Sen. Marco Rubio and the rest of the bill’s authors, voted against the fence, and two Democrats voted for it.
Republicans had offered the fence as a way to build the confidence of voters skeptical that the government will enforce its laws, but opponents said building more fencing is costly, would take too long, and shouldn’t be dictated by Washington.
“I think we should leave that to the best judgment of the Border Patrol,” said Sen. John McCain, one of the eight senators who wrote the immigration bill.

Rubio refused to answer question directly, saying he would not get involved with “hypotheticals and ultimatums”.

Fail: Gang of Eight ask Obama to stay away from immigration reform...
Obama is toxic and the Gang of Eight need s this stinker to fly low under the radar...
Via The Hill:
Via The Hill:
Authors of a Senate immigration reform bill say they do not want President Obama to play a more active role in pushing the legislation.
Members of the Gang of Eight said they are content to have Obama keep his distance as they scrounge for Republican votes.
“I think he’s played the right role so far — the outside cheerleader, if you want to call it that — that’s been I think useful and effective,” Sen. Jeff Flake (R-Ariz.), one of the bill’s authors, told reporters at a breakfast sponsored by The Christian Science Monitor. “As a Republican, it would be more difficult were he out front and pushing this issue.”
Obama has kept close tabs on the Senate bill’s progress, but he has played a restrained role in putting public pressure on lawmakers to vote for it.

Obvious: Dingy Harry Reid warns he will not allow strict border security in Gang of Eight Immigration Bill...
Democrats will never allow the border to be secured. They may pretend to agree, but is is a lie.
Via Politico:
Via Politico:
Senate Majority Leader Harry Reid indicated on Wednesday that he will not allow the Gang of Eight immigration bill to require stricter border security measures merely in order to attract Republican votes.
“Our goal now is to pass the strongest legislation possible with as many votes as possible while staying true to our principles,” Reid said.
A number of Republicans, led by Minority Whip John Cornyn (R-Texas), have said they may be able to support the bill if it includes a hard “trigger” of ensuring stronger border security metrics are in place before allowing undocumented immigrants to pursue a path to citizenship.
Sen. Chuck Schumer (D-N.Y.) hopes to round up more than 70 votes to put increasing pressure on the House to act on immigration. But Reid said he won’t go too far out on a limb to accommodate GOP concerns and rack up as many votes as possible.

Gang of Eight immigration bill will legalize as many as 32 million immigrants...
Another 25 million would be
granted non-immigrant work visa. Marco Rubio is committing political suicide by supporting this monstrosity.Republicans need to drop any attempt at bipartisan reform and pass their own bill that secures the border and creates work visas with no path to citizenship, except for the young who were brought her while underage. Any deal made with Schumer, Durbin and Menendez will be really bad or they would never agree to it.
Via Daily Caller:
Via Daily Caller:
An analysis of future immigration flow released Friday by Alabama Republican Sen. Jeff Sessions shows that more than 32 million immigrants would receive legal status over the next decade and an additional 25 million would be granted non-immigrant work visas under the Gang of Eight’s immigration bill.
On a conference call with reporters about the analysis Sessions explained that number of legal immigrants over the next decade “exceeds the population of California, our largest state, and will have a very significant impact on our economy and the American people.”
According to the analysis presented by the senator, the high immigration estimate derived from visa program proposals in a revised 867-page bill crafted by a bipartisan group of eight senators shows that the bill would vastly increase the level of future “low-skill” immigration.

Confirmed: The new immigration reform bill is chocked full of waivers and exemptions...
Actually, it's worse than Obamacare and we all know how fairly Obama and democrats will use waivers and exemptions. As for the parts of the lat the Obama administration doesn't like, they will simply refuse to enforce it as they are with most of current immigration law.
Via The Daily Caller:
Via The Daily Caller:
The Senate’s “Gang of Eight” has released a new version of the immigration bill that contains 999 references to waivers, exemptions and political discretion.
The revised 867-page bill contains multiple changes from the first 844-page version, released April 18, but Democrats have not announced any delay to the committee review of the complex bill that begins next week.
The bill includes roughly 1.14 waivers or exemptions per page. By comparison, the 2,409-page Obamacare law includes 0.78 waivers and exemptions per page.
The Obamacare law contains 1,882 mentions of “unless,” “notwithstanding,” “except,” “exempt,” “waivers,” “discretion” and “may.” “Waiver” is mentioned 209 times in the law.
The new draft of the immigration bill — which will allow officials much control over the supply and cost of labor needed by American companies — has 85 mentions of “unless,” 150 uses of “except,” 18 inclusions of “exempt,” 92 mentions of “waiver,” 42 offers of “discretion,” 47 use of “notwithstanding” and 618 uses of “may” in the 876-page bill.

African American Leadership Council opposes the Senate Gang of Eight's immigration bill
Will African-Americans finally get buyers remorse for voting 98% for Barack Obama?
Via Market Watch:

WASHINGTON, April 23, 2013 /PRNewswire via COMTEX/ -- On Wednesday morning, April 24 at 9am, the African American Leadership Council will host a press conference at the National Press Club in Washington, DC, to oppose the Senate Gang of Eight's 844-page plus, immigration bill.During the conference, the Council will call on the Congressional Black Caucus (CBC), to protect black labor by opposing amnesty and halting efforts to double legal immigration levels, as required under the bill. Many black leaders have recognized the harm caused by large increases in immigration as the Senate bill entails. As the U.S. Commission on Civil Rights recently reported, illegal immigration to the United States in recent decades has "depress[ed] both wages and employment rates for low-skilled American citizens, a disproportionate number of whom are black men."

Interesting: ICE union head gets ejected from presser for questioning Sen. Chuck Schumer
Ask Sen. Chuck Schumer no questions and he will tell you no lies...
Via Daily Caller:
Via Daily Caller:
Chris Crane, head of the immigration officers union, was pulled out of a Senate press conference today when he tried to question Sen. Chuck Schumer during the televised roll-out of the 844-page immigration rewrite.
While reporters asked questions, Schumer ignored three requests from Crane, who sought to question him about aspects of the far-reaching law, which promises to tighten enforcement of immigration laws at borders, airports and seaports.
“Will you take a question from law enforcement?” Crane asked, repeating the question twice before being removed.
Schumer ignored the question, and repeated his advocacy for the bill. Crane’s union represents agents of the Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) service.
Schumer and the other Senators have struggled to control the debate about the bill, which was released this week after months of closed-door drafting. Supporters are now trying to win Senate approval of the far-reaching bill by June.
