Obamanomics: African-American unemployment jumps to 13 percent in August...

I would feel sorry for the African-American community if 93%  hadn't voted for Obama and Democrats in 2012.
(CNSNews.com) – The unemployment rate in the African American community climbed from 12.6 percent in July to 13.0 percent in August, according to data released today by the Bureau of Labor Statistics.
At the same time, the number of African Americans 16 year or older who held jobs dropped from 16,318,000 in July to 16,108,000 in August–a decline of 210,000.
The labor force participation rate in the African American community dropped from 61.4 percent in July to 60.8 percent in August. The 60.8 percent African American labor force participation rate in August was the lowest that rate has been since July 1982.

Divided: 87 percent of African Americans say Trayvon Martin the shooting was unjustified; only 33 percent of whites say so...

Do African Americans still think OJ Simpson was innocent?

Via WaPo:
African Americans have a mostly shared and sharply negative reaction to the shooting of Trayvon Martin and the not-guilty verdict in the resulting trial, while whites are far more divided, according to a new Washington Post-ABC News poll.
At least eight in 10 African Americans say the shooting of the Florida teenager was unjustified, recoil at the verdict in the trial and want the shooter, George Zimmerman, tried in federal court for violating Martin’s civil rights.
On the Martin shooting in particular, the racial gaps are extremely wide.
Among African Americans, 87 percent say the shooting was unjustified; among whites, just 33 percent say so. A slim majority of whites (51 percent) approve of the not-guilty verdict in the Zimmerman trial, while African Americans overwhelmingly and strongly disapprove. Some 86 percent of blacks disagree with the verdict — almost all of them disapproving “strongly.”
There is also a partisan tinge to the public views. Among whites, 70 percent of Republicans but only 30 percent of Democrats say they approve of the verdict.

African American Leadership Council opposes the Senate Gang of Eight's immigration bill

Will African-Americans finally get buyers remorse for voting 98% for Barack Obama?

Via Market Watch
WASHINGTON, April 23, 2013 /PRNewswire via COMTEX/ -- On Wednesday morning, April 24 at 9am, the African American Leadership Council will host a press conference at the National Press Club in Washington, DC, to oppose the Senate Gang of Eight's 844-page plus, immigration bill.

During the conference, the Council will call on the Congressional Black Caucus (CBC), to protect black labor by opposing amnesty and halting efforts to double legal immigration levels, as required under the bill.

Many black leaders have recognized the harm caused by large increases in immigration as the Senate bill entails. As the U.S. Commission on Civil Rights recently reported, illegal immigration to the United States in recent decades has "depress[ed] both wages and employment rates for low-skilled American citizens, a disproportionate number of whom are black men."

Three members of the United States Commission on Civil Rights: Immigration reform will hurt African-Americans...

Votes have consequences and no group supported Obama and Democrats more then African-Americans.

Via Breitbart:
Three members of the United States Commission on Civil Rights wrote on Thursday to Congressional Black Caucus chairwoman Rep. Marcia Fudge (D-OH) to express their belief that amnesty or legalization of some 11 million illegal immigrants in the U.S. will hurt the black community.
“In light of recent debates on comprehensive immigration reform, we are writing to address a rarely-discussed effect of granting legal status or effective amnesty to illegal immigrants,” the three Civil Rights Commission members wrote. “Such grant of legal status will likely disproportionately harm lower-skilled African-Americans by making it more difficult for them to obtain employment and depressing their wages when they do obtain employment.”
“The increased employment difficulties will likely have negative consequences that extend far beyond economics,” the authors warn.
The Commission members cite a 2008 briefing their body held on this topic which found illegal immigration “has a disparate impact on African-American men because these men are disproportionately represented in the low-skilled labor force.”
“The obvious question is whether there are sufficient jobs in the low-skilled labor market for both African-Americans and illegal immigrants,” the Civil Rights Commission members wrote to Fudge. “The answer is no.”

Unlikely: NBC/WSJ poll finds zero percent African American support for Romney-Ryan

Obama got 96% of the  African American vote in 2008. I predict it will be down to 92% this year.

Via Mediaite:
A new NBC/WSJ poll out Tuesday shows President Barack Obama with a four-point lead over presumptive GOP nominee Mitt Romney. But as is often the case with polls, some of the more interesting numbers were in the details. For example? Romney snagged zero percent of African-American voters.
Among key demographics, the poll noted that Obama had a lead over Romney. The most stark being when it came to African Americans: 94 percent to 0 percent. Via NBC:
Looking inside the numbers, Obama continues to lead Romney among key parts of his political base, including African Americans (94 percent to 0 percent), Latinos (by a 2-to-1 margin), voters under 35-years-old (52 percent to 41 percent) and women (51 percent to 41 percent).

Is Obama losing the African-American vote?

A new PPP poll has found Romney would get 20% of the black vote in North Carolina if the election were held today.

Via Business Insider:
President Barack Obama is rapidly losing support among African-American voters in North Carolina, a new poll out today from the Democratic-leaning Public Policy Polling shows.
The poll finds that Mitt Romney would get 20 percent of the African-American vote if the election were held today, compared with 76 percent for Obama. Overall, Romney has a 48 percent to 46 percent lead on Obama in the crucial swing state.
Obama received 95 percent of the support from African-Americans in North Carolina in the 2008 election, compared with just 5 percent for Republican nominee John McCain.
In PPP’s May poll, Obama received 87 percent of the African-American vote to Romney’s 11 percent.
All of Obama’s numbers with African-Americans are sliding. His approval rating is down from 86 percent to 77 percent. Romney’s favorability, meanwhile, has doubled from 9 percent to 18 percent.

Obama Uses Black History Month to Launch 2012 African Americans for Obama

Isn't asking someone to support you because of your race racist?

Via Politico:
The Obama campaign has launched an outreach effort to court black voters with a web video from President Obama.
“I don’t think there’s a better time than African-American history month to consider the tremendous progress that we’ve made through the sacrifices of so many, or a better time to commit to meeting the very real challenges we face right now,” Obama says in the video.

Video: Newt Gingrich offers to go to NAACP and explain why African-Americans need paychecks not food stamps

Liberals are frothing at the mouth mad over this Gingrich's statement aboutAfrican-Americans and food stamps..
“If the NAACP invites me, I’ll go to their convention and talk about why the African-American community should demand paychecks and not be satisfied with food stamps.

Herman Cain: “African-Americans have been brainwashed into not being open minded,"

Cain is correct. African-Americans pull the Democrat lever at elections even though Democrats are not working for their best interests. Whites, not Blacks, collect greatest share of public aid dollars. The welfare state is hindering African-Americans from succeeding; not helping. African-Americans needs jobs, low taxes and opportunity the same as white Americans. They have been brainwashed by the likes of Jesse Jackson, Al Sharpton, Maxine Waters and others.
Washington (CNN) — The one African-American running for the GOP presidential nomination said Wednesday the black community was ‘brainwashed’ for traditionally siding with liberal politicians.

“African-Americans have been brainwashed into not being open minded, not even considering a conservative point of view,” Cain said on CNN’s “The Situation Room” in an interview airing Wednesday between 5–7 p.m. ET. “I have received some of that same vitriol simply because I am running for the Republican nomination as a conservative. So it’s just brainwashing and people not being open minded, pure and simple.”

Cain went on to explain that his interactions with African Americans led him to be optimistic about his own chances with the demographic.

“This whole notion that all African-Americans are not going to vote for Obama is not necessarily true,” Cain said.

The Obama Presidency Has Been Devastating For Black Americans

The numbers are horrifying.

Sun-Times reported: (emphasis is mine)

Since the end of the recession, which lasted from 2007 to 2009, the overall unemployment rate has fallen from 9.4 to 9.1 percent, while the black unemployment rate has risen from 14.7 to 16.2 percent, according to the Department of Labor. Last April, black male unemployment hit the highest rate since the government began keeping track in 1972. Only 56.9 percent of black men over 20 were working, compared with 68.1 percent of white men.
Even college-educated blacks fared worse than their white counterparts in the recession. In 2007, unemployment for college-educated whites was 1.8 percent; for college-educated blacks it was 2.7 percent. Now, the college-educated unemployment rate is 3.9 percent for whites and 7 percent for blacks.
Nearly 8 percent of African Americans who bought homes from 2005 to 2008 have lost them to foreclosure, compared with 4.5 percent of whites, according to an estimate by the Center for Responsible Lending.
Since 95% of black voters voted for President Obama in 2008, I am tempted to say black Americans are getting their just reward, but I hate to see any family have to struggle under these devastating economic conditions. Jesse Washington of the Sun-Times found it ironic the first black president was overseeing the destruction of the black middle class.
Some see a bitter irony in soaring black unemployment and the decline of the black middle class on the watch of the first black president.
I see it in a different light. It is true Obama's color motivated the black base of the Democratic Party and even a few black Republican leaning voters (shame on you) pulled Obama's lever for historic reasons. The truth is a white Democratic candidate would have gotten 90 plus percent of the black vote in 2008, even if Obama hadn't been on the ticket. Black voters have become an almost wholly owned subsidiary of the Democratic Party. Based on history, this is hard to understand. Republicans ended slavery and southern Democrats were the primary opponents of civil rights for blacks in the 1960s. Black voters are ignoring history. I would postulate this is because they benefit more from social programs than the general population and Democrats are certainly the party of more social programs. Unfortunately for Democrats and their supporters, the money has run out. President Obama's attempt to spend our way out of the recession has practically bankrupted us. Government spending can't end this recession. Only businesses and consumers can accomplish that goal. Consumers can't boost spending because energy prices and unemployment are too high. Business won't because President Obama is the most anti-business President in the history of our country. If President Obama really wanted to help black Americans, he would resign. It is time for Obama to "Take one for the team".

African-Americans are becoming frustrated with Obama too (audio)

Conservative and moderates aren't the only ones becoming frustrated with Obama's performance. African-Americans are becoming frustrated too. However, the issues are different.

From Radio Equalizer:
Faced with an increasing number of calls from African-American listeners angry with Barack Obama's performance, a frustrated Reverend Al Sharpton has begun to turn against his own radio audience in an attempt to diffuse it.

Until a week or so ago, Sharpton's radio callers remained seemingly euphoric over Obama's victory, rarely raising critical points. Almost with the flick of a switch, however, listeners are suddenly phoning the syndicated liberal talk host to express their concerns over unfulfilled promises and unclear results.

Audio from Sharpton's radio show.

From the audio:
MARK ALLEN (CALLER) (48:22): Listen, man, I want to say something about the President’s (NAACP) speech. You know Al, you’ve run for office before and I can’t imagine after 30 years of us working together in the trenches that you’ve finally become Senator or whatever and I can’t talk to you no more, or you don’t respond the way that you do now to different people that call you from around the world. Even today, they bring you issues. You respond back with yes, no, maybe so. Or something. I think that we had this conversation several months ago.

Remember when Barack Obama first announced, he was going to develop this office on urban policy that was going to lift the people up on the bottom in urban areas, based upon what happens in Chicago.

Well, months later, Chicago's blowing up. Where’s the urban policy? New York, Detroit, all these areas where the NAACP has chapters, they’re dealing with record unemployment, rise in urban crime. And then as opposed to coming before all of these chapters and say look, here’s how my public policy is about to lift all your people up. That you could hold, be publicly accountable to. He gives one of those good, I told you so, do this kind of speech and walk away without saying any public policy by which the people can hold… (Sharpton interrupts)More here.
