DHS thinks right-wing extremists are a bigger threat than Islamic extremists?

A new intelligence assessment, circulated by the Department of Homeland Security this month and reviewed by CNN, focuses on the domestic terror threat from right-wing sovereign citizen extremists and comes as the Obama administration holds a White House conference to focus efforts to fight violent extremism.
Some federal and local law enforcement groups view the domestic terror threat from sovereign citizen groups as equal to — and in some cases greater than — the threat from foreign Islamic terror groups, such as ISIS, that garner more public attention.​
The Homeland Security report, produced in coordination with the FBI, counts 24 violent sovereign citizen-related attacks across the U.S. since 2010.

Granted the Alfred P. Murrah federal building bombing in Oklahoma City on April 19, 1995 was a horrid attack by a right-wing extremist. There have been a small number of murders since then that some would attribute to right-wing ideology, but they pale in comparison to what Islamic extremists have done in the last 20 years. Here is a list of Islamic related terror attacks against the American Homeland since the Tim McVeigh Oklahoma City bombing.

Obama's DOD training materials identify colonists who sought to free themselves from British rule as extremists...

This is the first administration to think the colonist who fought and died for our country and freedom are were extremists. Every other administration thought they were freedom fighters and heroes. No wonder they have such disdain for the Constitution. It was written by extremists.

Judicial Watch obtained Defense Department training materials on Friday that described conservative and civil liberties organizations as “hate groups.”
The training materials used by the Air Force were created to help students “recognize extremists ideologies.” The materials identified conservative values, such as individual liberties and states’ rights, as recruiting rhetoric used by “extremists.”
According to Judicial Watch:
Under a section labeled “Extremist Ideologies” the document states, “In U.S. history, there are many examples of extremist ideologies and movements.  The colonists who sought to free themselves from British rule and the Confederate states who sought to secede from the Northern states are just two examples.”

Is the Government trying to redefine the Tea Party as extremists?

A recently published “lexicon” distributed to thousands of federal, state, and local law enforcement agencies by the Department of Homeland Security (DHS) targets citizens concerned about their Second Amendment rights and the steady encroachment of the federal government, categorizing such as “militia extremists.”

The “lexicon,” marked Unclassified/For Official Use Only (FOUO), is dated November 10, 2011, and was sent out by email to law enforcement and homeland security agencies on November 14 by LaJuan E. Washington of the DHS Office of Intelligence and Analysis.

Its definition of “militia extremists” states:

(U//FOUO) Groups or individuals who facilitate or engage in acts of violence directed at federal, state, or local government officials or infrastructure in response to their belief that the government deliberately is stripping Americans of their freedoms and is attempting to establish a totalitarian regime. These individuals consequently oppose many federal and state authorities’ laws and regulations, (particularly those related to firearms ownership), and often belong to armed paramilitary groups. They often conduct paramilitary training designed to violently resist perceived government oppression or to violently overthrow the US Government. (Page 2 of 3, emphasis added)

So what drives militia extremism according to DHS now is “belief that the government deliberately is stripping Americans of their freedoms.” It is demonstrated by opposing “many federal and state authorities’ laws and regulations, (particularly those related to firearms ownership).” Would writing about those topics (as I am now) fall under “facilitation”? On its face, it’s hard to see how it could be excluded under DHS’s broad definition.

 The FBI redefines:

(Reuters) — Anti-government extremists opposed to taxes and regulations pose a growing threat to local law enforcement officers in the United States, the FBI warned on Monday.

These extremists, sometimes known as “sovereign citizens,” believe they can live outside any type of government authority, FBI agents said at a news conference.

The extremists may refuse to pay taxes, defy government environmental regulations and believe the United States went bankrupt by going off the gold standard.

Routine encounters with police can turn violent “at the drop of a hat,” said Stuart McArthur, deputy assistant director in the FBI’s counterterrorism division.

“We thought it was important to increase the visibility of the threat with state and local law enforcement,” he said.

The Tea Party is not a group of militia members or “sovereign citizens,” but it is starting to look like anyone who opposes higher taxes and more government regulation or supports our Second Amendment rights is going to be considered an extremist.

Rasmussen: 50% of Voters Think Democrats Agenda is Extreme

Calling the Democrats agenda extreme is being too kind. Let's be frank and call it Socialist.

(Rasmussen)-  A new Rasmussen Reports national telephone survey of Likely Voters shows that 45% say it would be more accurate to describe the agenda of Republicans in Congress as mainstream, up five points from last month. Thirty-eight percent (38%) say it’s more accurate to describe that agenda as extreme, while 17% more are undecided.

But half of voters (50%) say the Democratic agenda in Congress is extreme, while 37% see it as mainstream, also up five points from a month ago. Another 14% are not sure.

Report: Internal memo from DHS Secretary Janet Napolitano labels opt-out fliers as “domestic extremists”

Northeast Intelligence Network is reporting DHS Secretary Janet Napolitano has issued a memo labeling fliers who opt-out of naked scanners as “domestic extremists.”

The memo, which actually takes the form of an administrative directive, appears to be the product of undated but recent high level meetings between Napolitano, John Pistole, head of the Transportation Security Administration (TSA),and one or more of Obama’s national security advisors. This document officially addresses those who are opposed to, or engaged in the disruption of the implementation of the enhanced airport screening procedures as “domestic extremists.”

The introductory paragraph of the multipage document states that it is issued “in response to the growing public backlash against enhanced TSA security screening procedures and the agents conducting the screening process.” Implicit within the same section is that the recently enhanced security screening procedures implemented at U.S. airports, and the measures to be taken in response to the negative public backlash as detailed [in this directive], have the full support of the President.

President Obama Said Voting Against Health Care Reform "will encourage the extremists.”

In a House health care vote private pep talk, President Obama refereed to opponents of the Democrat's health care reform bill as "teabag, anti-government people" and said failing to support health care reform would "encourage the extremists."

Mr. Obama, during his private pep talk to Democrats, recognized Mr. Owens election and then posed a question to the other lawmakers. According to Representative Earl Blumenauer of Oregon, who supports the health care bill, the president asked, “Does anybody think that the teabag, anti-government people are going to support them if they bring down health care? All it will do is confuse and dispirit” Democratic voters “and it will encourage the extremists.”
