Obama blames Bush for ISIS...

ISIS is a direct result of Obama's hands off approach to the Middle East after the Iraq draw down.

Via Grabien:
OBAMA: “ISIL is a direct outgrowth of al Qaeda in Iraq that grew out of our invasion which is an example of unintended consequences — which is why we should generally aim before we shoot. We’ve got a sixty country coalition. We will slowly push back ISIL out of Iraq. I’m confident that will happen.
But what I’m worried about and what we have to stay worried about is even if ISIL is defeated is the underlying problem of disaffected Sunnis around the world but particularly in some of these areas, including Libya, including Yemen, where a young man was growing up and has no education, has no prospects for the future, is looking around. And the one way that he can get validation power respect is if he’s a fighter. And this looks like the toughest gang around so let me affiliate with them. And now you’re giving me a religious rationale for doing this.
That’s a problem we’re going to have generally and we can’t keep on thinking about counter-terrorism and security as entirely separate from diplomacy, development, education — all these  things that are considered soft but in fact are vital to our national security. And we do not fund those. If you ask the average person, ‘How much do we spend on foreign aid?’ They will say, ‘25 percent of the federal budget.’ Well, it’s little over 1 percent. We should be thinking about making investments there that ultimately save us from having to send our young men and women to fight or having folks come here and doing great harm.”

Change: Obama now as unpopular as George Bush...

Liberal heads explode in 3...2...1...
Washington (CNN) – My, how the times have changed.
In January 2009, as President George W. Bush was days away from leaving the White House, the unpopular President’s favorable rating stood at 35% in a CNN/ORC International survey. The man who was succeeding him, Barack Obama, was fresh from his historic 2008 presidential election victory and had a 78% favorable rating among Americans.
But a new CNN/ORC International poll released Thursday indicates a milestone of sorts: Obama is now as unpopular as Bush. Fifty-one percent have an unfavorable view of Bush; 51% feel the same way about Obama. Obama’s favorable rating is now at 47% – a new low for him, and virtually identical to Bush’s 46% favorable rating, a significant improvement over his 2009 numbers.

A question for HBO about President George H.W. Bush's severed head

The explanation given was HBO used the props they had available.
“It’s not a choice, not a political statement!” one of the writers insisted during the DVD commentary. “We just had to use what heads we had around.”
Here is the question. Why in the world  did you have a severed  George H.W. Bush head laying around?

Report: Clinton and Bush both hate Jimmy Carter

A shorter list would be who does like Jimmy Carter anymore.
WASHINGTON — Former presidents Bill Clinton and George H.W. Bush have united — in their hatred of Jimmy Carter.
The former commanders-in-chief share a disdain for their fellow ex-president because he conducted foreign policy after leaving office without any authority from the White House, according to a new book.
In “The Presidents Club: Inside the World’s Most Exclusive Fraternity,” former staffers even use the word “treason” to describe Carter’s actions.
“Carter gives the club a great gift, something for all the others to complain about,” the book by Time magazine’s Nancy Gibbs and Michael Duffy says.

Shocking Admission: NY Times Gives Bush and Cheney credit for US energy production surge

I never thought this admission would come from the New York Times.
Not only has the United States reduced oil imports from members of the Organization of the Petroleum Exporting Countries by more than 20 percent in the last three years, it has become a net exporter of refined petroleum products like gasoline for the first time since the Truman presidency. The natural gasindustry, which less than a decade ago feared running out of domestic gas, is suddenly dealing with a glut so vast that import facilities are applying for licenses to export gas to Europe and Asia.
National oil production, which declined steadily to 4.95 million barrels a day in 2008 from 9.6 million in 1970, has risen over the last four years to nearly 5.7 million barrels a day. The Energy Department projects that daily output could reach nearly seven million barrels by 2020. Some experts think it could eventually hit 10 million barrels — which would put the United States in the same league as Saudi Arabia.[...]
The Bush administration worked from the start on finding ways to unlock the nation’s energy reserves and reverse decades of declining output, with Mr. Cheney leading a White House energy task force that met in secret with top oil executives. [...]
The Bush administration also opened large swaths of the Gulf of Mexico and the waters off Alaska to exploration, granting lease deals that required companies to pay only a tiny share of their profits to the government.

Bush Derangement Syndrome Continues

Decision Points

Sarah Palin has company. Leftists are infected with Bush Derangement Syndrome too.
(The Guardian)Human rights groups have vowed to track George W. Bush round the world after their success in forcing him to cancel a trip to Switzerland amid concerns over protests and a threatened arrest warrant.

Katherine Gallagher, a lawyer with the New York-based Centre for Constitutional Rights, said: “The reach of the convention against torture is wide. This case is prepared and will be waiting for him wherever he travels next.
“Torturers, even if they are former presidents of the United States, must be held to account and prosecuted.”

MSNBC: Bush's book is popular because it is short and people hated him

 Decision Points
Liberals struggle to find a reason Bush's memoir, Decision Points,  is far outselling former President Clinton's.

ALEX PAREENE, SALON: Well, obviously we can't say for sure because we don't know why those two million people have bought it. But, there are, I’ve speculated a couple reasons. It may be the fact that he was hated by so many people actually helped fuel his book sales because people wanted to hear him actually justify himself and explain some of his decisions that he made. And, you know, there are, I mean, you can imagine that some people bought it as a gag or some people got it, received it as a gift and didn't really want it. And also the fact is like there are Kindle copies now, there are ebooks that are much more popular and not that’s a much cheaper way to buy a book. But my favorite speculative reason is that it's just half as long as Bill Clinton’s book. Bill Clinton’s book is like 1,000 pages long and George W Bush got his presidency done in 500 pages and then he's out.

O’DONNELL: Alex, I, that is brilliant. I think that's actually probably one of the main, that’s probably one of the main reasons. It's only half as long. That's fantastic. But what about sort of the ereader phenomenon? I mean, actually, that makes it much easier to purchase a book rather than, than, you know, having to go to a book store.

Must Be Missed: George W. Bush Sells As Many Books in One Month As Clinton Did in 6 Years

 Decision Points
George W. Bush's new book, "Decision Points" is selling like hotcakes. He has sold over 2 million copies in one month. That is as many as Bill Clinton's  memoir, ‘My Life, sold in 6 years.

The Daily Mail reported:
‘Decision Points’, published both in hardcover and e-book form, is flying off the shelves, the Crown Publishing Group says.

By contrast, former president Bill Clinton’s memoir, ‘My Life’, has logged sales of 2.2million copies since it was first published in 2004.

A spokesman for Crown called the performance remarkable.

He claimed he could not think of any other hardcover nonfiction books in 2010 that had sold even one million copies, much less two.
