Another offered a different if similar perspective, expressing happiness for Cheney’s transplant — so that Cheney could one day meet his demise in a fire.

“I’m glad Cheney survived his heart transplant because I’ve always wanted him to die in a horrible fire,” @Jedimasterbator tweeted.

Dick Cheney gets a new heart

(CBS News) Former Vice President Dick Cheney received a heart transplant on Saturday, his office announced.

A statement from the former vice president's office said the 71-year-old is now recovering in the intensive care unit of Inova Fairfax Hospital in Falls Church, Va., outside Washington.

The statement said Cheney had been on the transplant list for 20 months and did not know the identity of the donor.

"Although the former vice president and his family do not know the identity of the donor, they will be forever grateful for this lifesaving gift," the statement read.

Some experts think it could eventually hit 10 million barrels — which would put the United States in the same league as Saudi Arabia.[...]

The Bush administration worked from the start on finding ways to unlock the nation’s energy reserves and reverse decades of declining output, with Mr. Cheney leading a White House energy task force that met in secret with top oil executives. [...]

The Bush administration also opened large swaths of the Gulf of Mexico and the waters off Alaska to exploration, granting lease deals that required companies to pay only a tiny share of their profits to the government.

Dick Cheney is a Hillary Clinton Fan?

In a FOX News Sunday interview, former VP Dick Cheney alludes that Hillary Clinton would have been a better President than Obama. I actually have to agree.

Cheney, speaking on "Fox News Sunday," would not go so far as to say Clinton would have made a better president. But, citing a litany of complaints about Obama's approach to the economy, the former vice president said "she might have been easier for some of us who are critics of the president to work with.

"I have the sense that she's one of the more competent members of the current administration," Cheney said. "And it would be interesting to speculate how she might perform."

Though Clinton and other Democrats have persistently quieted speculation that she still harbors presidential ambitions and could consider a 2012 run, Cheney said a Clinton bid "would be good for a two-party system."

"I certainly wouldn't want to discourage a good primary contest on their side," Cheney said, though he noted he'd be supporting the GOP nominee no matter what.

WH Blames Cheney for Afghanistan Failure

White House spokesman Robert Gibb said this today in response to Dick Cheney's criticism of Obama's "dithering" on the decision to send more troops to Afghanistan:

“What Vice President Cheney calls dithering, President Obama calls his solemn responsibility to the men and women in uniform,” Gibbs said Thursday. “I think we’ve all seen what happens when somebody doesn’t take that responsibility seriously.”

Perhaps he should check this chart before trying to blame the Bush administration.

A day after former Vice President Cheney charged the Obama administration …

… with “dithering” over its strategy for the war in Afghanistan, White House Press Secretary Robert Gibbs returned fire with guns blazing.

“What Vice President Cheney calls dithering, President Obama calls his solemn responsibility to the men and women in uniform,” Gibbs said Thursday. “I think we’ve all seen what happens when somebody doesn’t take that responsibility seriously.”

Former Vice President Dick Cheney launched his strongest attack on President Obama's delay of a decision to supply more resources to Afghanistan.

Mr Cheney said the President was "dithering" and "waffling" on Afghanistan while American troops face constant danger.

The former number two in the White House has criticised Mr Obama before, but these are his strongest words yet.

It is convention that former presidents and vice presidents are not outspoken in their criticism of successors.

Dick Cheney also criticized the decision to cancel the missile shield for Europe.

He slammed Mr Obama's decision to abandon plans for a missile defence shield in Eastern Europe as "a strategic blunder and a breach of good faith".

Liberal Author Michelle Goldberg: "I certainly wouldn't be shedding many tears if Dick Cheney dropped dead."

Liberal author Michelle Goldberg made that statement while trying to defend those who called Bush and Cheney fascists. Goldberg also refereed to Cheney's future death as a "blessed day." Is there no limit to the hatred of the left?
