(CBS News) Former Vice President Dick Cheney received a heart transplant on Saturday, his office announced.
A statement from the former vice president's office said the 71-year-old is now recovering in the intensive care unit of Inova Fairfax Hospital in Falls Church, Va., outside Washington.
The statement said Cheney had been on the transplant list for 20 months and did not know the identity of the donor.
"Although the former vice president and his family do not know the identity of the donor, they will be forever grateful for this lifesaving gift," the statement read.

Without access early in his life prior to becoming a billionaire off of War profiteering Dick Cheney would have been dead without Government Offered Healthcare.

That is ridiculous. You don't have to be a billionaire or on government healthcare to get a heart transplant. Most insurance plans cover this procedure. http://www.insuranceproviders.com/is-a-heart-transplant-covered-by-health-insurance/
Ha ha ha Hardly, when Dick was young and suffered his first early heart attack, without access to government healthcare (remember he's spent 40 years in Government) and without billions he'd have been shoved to the we aren't going to cover the risk of a weak-hearted individual.
