MSNBC knuckle-dragger Ed Schultz: Founding Fathers just "some dead people"
In other news, Ed Schultz likely views the Constitution as some old toilet paper...
Via Newsbusters:
Via Newsbusters:
CALLER: From a legal point of view, I’m pro-Second Amendment and the reason why is one of the legacies of our founding fathers is the Second Amendment and we cannot go and do a full-scale overhaul on it because it will let the cat out of the bag, we can now tear into the First Amendment, you know, all the other amendments …
SCHULTZ (interrupting): OK, all right, let me, let me back up a little bit. Respectfully, the founding fathers aren’t here anymore. We are the founding fathers of this country now. Things change in America. Social mores change, attitudes change, habits change, the way we think change (sic), technology is changing. The idea that we need to be stuck in the mud of a different generation because some dead people think that’s the way we oughta live 200 and some odd years later, I’m not there. I’m not there.
Societal behavior in this country has gotten to the point where we need to do something. We can still be free and we can still be a great nation and we can love, you know, ice cream and apple pie and our next-door neighbor and our family members and we can still prosper as a nation, but dammit, it’s the guns. Period!

NYT: MSNBC may replace Ed Schultz with Washington Post columnist Ezra Klein...
Best news of the day...
Via Mediaite:
Via Mediaite:
Buried in a broader piece about MSNBC successfully becoming the liberals partisan cable news answer to Fox, The New York Times’ Brian Stelter reports a big piece of news that can’t make MSNBC’s 8 pm host Ed Schultz happy. When discussing evolving programming on MSNBC, the Times media reporter writes that the liberal network (which he also points out seems to have become even more liberal than Fox is conservative) is seeking to create more political programming on weekends. Then in the third to last paragraph of the piece, he casually drops this bomb:
“Several MSNBC employees, who spoke about programming plans on the condition of anonymity, said the most likely candidate for a new show was the Washington Post columnist Ezra Klein, a frequent substitute for Ms. Maddow. Mr. Klein may start with a weekend time slot, but these people said the 8 p.m. weekday time slot held by Mr. Schultz was also a possibility.”

Psycho Ed Schultz Ordered by MSNBC to Stop “Psycho Talk” Segment
Liberals everywhere put on suicide watch.
(Daily Caller) — MSNBC host Ed Schultz announced Thursday on his radio show that his “Psycho Talk” segment had been discontinued by MSNBC executives.
“I work for somebody,” said Schultz. “I don’t call all the shots.”
Following the abrupt departure of Keith Olbermann from the network, Schultz’s show on MSNBC was moved from 6 p.m. to 10 p.m.
“There’s probably people in positions that are a helluva lot smarter than I am and have decided that that’s what the way it’s going to be,” Schultz said in an uncharacteristically servile response to the decision.
On January 11, following the Tucson shooting, Schultz said that he had no intention of discontinuing the segment. “As long as they open their mouths over there on the right, we will continue to have the segment called ‘Psycho Talk,’” said Schultz.
