 It seems like they [Republicans] act as though some wiping out of people, some of the right wing, is all right. It’s not all right to do to any innocent people. If you had war and people, that’s one thing. But to wipe out innocent people just because of who they are, like what was done in Hitler’s Germany or what was done to Native Americans, is not justified.

A group of demonstrators held Nazi themed signs in front of Americans for Prosperity offices in Chicago this week. The signs targeted Republican Adam Kinzinger, Glenn Beck and Sarah Palin. One protester claimed Glenn Beck was a Nazi. After the protest ended, they were filed returning to the offices of Democrat Rep. Debbie Halvorson. Two of the protesters have now been identified. Julie Merz ,recently a top aide to Nancy Pelosi and Anna Markowski who currently works for Barack Obama's Organizing for America. Here is the video.

VP Joe Biden Accuses GOP of Nazi Tactic in Fund-Raising Email

Vice President Biden has accused Republicans of planning to use the Nazi tactic of “blitzkrieg” this fall.

Vice President Biden is out with an alarmed e-mail cash appeal warning that the GOP will mount a “blitzkrieg” against Democrats in the fall.

Comparing GOP tactics to the fast-striking forces of Nazi Germany, Biden warns in a message sent by the DCCC today: “As things heat up, you can expect House Democrats will be hit with a GOP blitzkrieg of vicious Swift-Boat-style attack ads, Karl Rove-inspired knockout tactics, thinly veiled attempts at character assassination and tea party disruptions.”

Kevin Smith, spokesman for Minority Leader John Boehner responds:

“When will Democrats learn that invoking the Nazis’ crimes against humanity in a political debate is simply inappropriate?”

Wonderful. Now a Republican Compares Arizona to Nazi Germany.

Can't we move past playing the Nazi Germany card? Even Republicans are playing it while pandering to the Hispanic vote.

The Hill reported:

Rep. Connie Mack (R-Fla.) ripped into the new Arizona immigration law today, comparing it to Nazi Germany.

“This law of ‘frontier justice’ – where law enforcement officials are required to stop anyone based on ‘reasonable suspicion’ that they may be in the country illegally – is reminiscent of a time during World War II when the Gestapo in Germany stopped people on the street and asked for their papers without probable cause,” Mack said in a statement.

“This is not the America I grew up in and believe in, and it’s not the America I want my children to grow up in,” he added.

Dem Rep. Anthony Weiner compares the Arizona law, allowing police to enforce immigration law, to Nazi Germany. That is outrageous on its face, but Weiner is lying when he claims people can be stopped on the street and asked for papers. The law only allows checking documents of people after "lawful contact" by police and "reasonable suspicion" of immigration status that may not be solely based on "race, color or national origin." Everyone arrested will have their immigration status checked before release. The police are not allowed to stop people for the purpose of checking documents. That is not "lawful contact" in Arizona or any other state.

From Arizona State Legislator:

B. For any lawful contact made by a law enforcement official or a law enforcement agency of this state or a law enforcement official or a law enforcement agency of a county, city, town or other political subdivision of this state where reasonable suspicion exists that the person is an alien who is unlawfully present in the United States, a reasonable attempt shall be made, when practicable, to determine the immigration status of the person, except if the determination may hinder or obstruct an investigation. Any person who is arrested shall have the person's immigration status determined before the person is released. The person's immigration status shall be verified with the federal government pursuant to 8 United States code section 1373(c). A law enforcement official or agency of this state or a county, city, town or other political subdivision of this state may not solely consider race, color or national origin in implementing the requirements of this subsection except to the extent permitted by the United States or Arizona Constitution. A person is presumed to not be an alien who is unlawfully present in the United States if the person provides to the law enforcement officer or agency any of the following:

1. A valid Arizona driver license.

2. A valid Arizona nonoperating identification license.

3. A valid tribal enrollment card or other form of tribal identification.

4. If the entity requires proof of legal presence in the United States before issuance, any valid United States federal, state or local government issued identification.

Al Gore Compares Battle Against Global Warming to Battle Against Nazis

This is an almost unbelievable story. Al Gore has compared the battle against climate change with the struggle against the Nazis. Is he serious?

Fox News reported:

Al Gore on Tuesday compared the battle against climate change with the struggle against the Nazis.

The former vice president said the world lacked the political will to act and invoked the spirit of Winston Churchill by encouraging leaders to unite their nations to fight climate change.

He also accused politicians around the world of exploiting ignorance about the dangers of global warming to avoid difficult decisions.

Speaking at Britain's Oxford University at the Smith School World Forum on Enterprise and the Environment, sponsored by the Times of London, Gore said, "Winston Churchill aroused this nation in heroic fashion to save civilization in World War II."

He added, "We have everything we need except political will, but political will is a renewable resource."

Gore admitted that it was difficult to persuade the public that the threat from climate change was as urgent as the threat from Nazi Germany.
