Al Sharpton's daughter tries to shakedown NYC for $5 million over a sprained ankle...

The acorn doesn't fall far from the tree...

Via The NY Post:
She learned at the feet of a master.
Shakedown artist Al Sharpton’s eldest child wants $5 million from city taxpayers after she fell in the street and sprained her ankle, court records show.
Dominique Sharpton, 28, says she was “severely injured, bruised and wounded” when she stumbled over uneven pavement at the corner of Broome Street and Broadway downtown last year, according to a lawsuit.
Currently on vacation in Bali, the membership director for her gadfly dad’s National Action Network claims she “still suffers and will continue to suffer for some time physical pain and bodily injuries,” according to the suit filed against the city departments of Transportation and Environmental Protection.
“I sprained my ankle real bad lol,” she wrote in a post to Instagram after the Oct. 2 fall.
You would think that by the age of 28 someone could maneuver over uneven pavement.

Most Americans paid their taxes, but Al Sharpton still owes as much as $4.5 million...

How can Rev. Al be allowed to live a life of luxury when he owes that much in taxes?

Via NY Post:
Taxpayers across the country scrambled to file their returns this week, and many wrote checks to the government. Yet, when it comes to taxes, there’s one New York “celeb” who seems to be getting a pass from the state: the Rev. Al Sharpton.
From first-class plane tickets to a swanky apartment at the Helmsley Carlton House, it’s clear Al Sharpton has been living a life of luxury — especially for a man who’s built his career on advocacy for the underprivileged.
Yet Sharpton owes as much as $4.5 million in back taxes and penalties.
Dozens of pages of tax warrants and liens show that, at best, Sharpton has been deeply negligent, and at worst, he’s gaming the system. Which raises the question: Why does New York keep letting him get away with it?

Is Al Sharpton's MSNBC show next on the chopping block?

We can only hope.

Via Truth Revolt:
Thursday, MSNBC announced the cancellation of Ronan Farrow’s and Joy Reid’s afternoon bombs—a move many saw coming for some time now with both shows consistently tanking in the ratings. But inside sources say that the dual cancellations are just the beginning of a major shakeup at ratings-challenged MSNBC, as the network attempts to move back toward the center after veering far left. Next on the chopping block: Chris Hayes and Al Sharpton.
Citing two “well-placed sources,” The Daily Beast reports that in addition to canceling Chris Hayes’ struggling 8 p.m. show in the “relatively short term,” Al Sharpton’s weeknight 6 p.m. show is likely to get the ax “in the longer term,” with the controversial host relegated to a weekend slot.
Sharpton’s “PoliticsNation,” though popular with African Americans (accounting for 35 percent of the audience), has continued to underperform—as has the host, who is regularly mocked for his teleprompter gaffs and insincere posturing. Sharpton’s self-promotional version of civil rights activism, his deplorable tax record, and controversy-ridden past have frequently resulted in unflattering headlines during his stint at the network.

Rev. Al Sharpton claims he is getting death threats...

I wonder if he will turn down police protection if the officer is white?

Via NY Post:
It’s all about him.
The Rev. Al Sharpton claimed Sunday that he’s received death threats in the wake of execution-style murders of two NYPD officers in Brooklyn.
Sharpton, appearing alongside the wife and mother of Eric Garner, played a voicemail for reporters purportedly of a racist threat made against him.
“Hey n—-r, stop killing innocent people, I’m going to get you!” according to the barely audible recording.
The voice mail also included three f-bombs that went over live television in New York.

Guess which racial huckster, who won't play his taxes, has visited Obama's White House 61 times

If you guessed Rev. Al, we have a winner...

Via NRO:
This, the tail end of 2014, is Al Sharpton’s moment.
Despite the firebrand minister’s shrinking physical stature, his presence on the national stage has never loomed larger. From Ferguson to Cleveland to Staten Island, black men dying at the hands of police have catapulted America’s racial obsession to new heights — carrying Sharpton along with it.
He stands solemnly with Michael Brown’s family at televised press conferences. He appears alongside Eric Garner’s grieving widow on Meet the Press. He delivers nightly sermons on race from his prime-time perch at MSNBC. Though the rehabilitation is far from perfect, it’s a far cry from the days of Tawana Brawley, Freddie’s Fashion Mart, and “white interlopers.”
How to explain the strange new respect accorded to Sharpton? Start with the White House.
Considered politically toxic by Bill Clinton and George W. Bush, Sharpton has been enthusiastically embraced by President Obama. He has bragged about helping to pick a new attorney general and communed with the current one. In fact, a much-quoted Politico profile last summer described Sharpton as Obama’s “go-to man on race.”

Amusing: Al Sharpton celebrates “National Breast Awareness Month.”

“National Breast Awareness Month?” Oh, my.

Via Washington Free Beacon:
Al Sharpton reminded his MSNBC viewers Wednesday night that it was the beginning of “National Breast Awareness Month.”
Of course, Sharpton meant National Breast Cancer Awareness Month.
It was a rare slip-up for the reverend.

Tweet of the Day: Remembering when Al Sharpton used a homophobic slur against Greeks...

Al Sharpton has been full of you know what for a long time.  I surprised he hasn't exploded onto a manure pile.

Al Sharpton: Obama is ready for Mt. Rushmore or something...

I suspect he is serious...
ABBY HUNTSMAN: You look at Reagan, he ended the Cold War. I think they have to have a legacy that changed America. Obama was the first black president. That is something that will always be remembered.
AL SHARPTON: And he stopped two wars and the whole question of finance reform on Wall Street and health care. I mean, he has done some concrete things. I can, again, the reason I raised Teddy Roosevelt is that a lot of people could say that Teddy Roosevelt was more of a character than a transformative president. I can name, literally, things that President Obama has done. Now, I’m going to say that if Teddy Roosevelt is the measure, I think it strengthens the case for President Obama.

Here is a video of what that might look like...

Al Sharpton: We need knife control or something...

Seriously? Al Sharpton is a buffoon...

Via Radio Equalizer:
REV AL SHARPTON (28 Dec 2012): In any civilized society you do not see massacres continue to happen, from Tucson to Aurora to Columbine to Virginia Tech to where we are now in Newtown to Chicago and you keep the same laws when clearly they’re not working.
ROSCOE IN MARYLAND: What happens when the criminal goes to knives Al?
REV AL SHARPTON: Then you deal with knives.
ROSCOE IN MARYLAND: Oh I see.
REV AL SHARPTON: The same thing as if you have a head cold and the same thing you do if you have a head cold and the cold is gone and you have a headache. Then you take headache medicine. The job of society is to deal with whatever problem confronts it.

Al Sharpton: Black unemployment is high because of Republicans or something...

Here is what Al Sharpton really meant to say: "Those Republicans must be raaaaciist!!!!"

Via Radio Equalizer:
“One of the reason that I think people do not understand why unemployment has gone down and in some cases black unemployment and Latino’s has remained stagnant is over the last thirty two months Dr. Hutchinson, they’ve increased jobs and found jobs unemployment has gone down in the private sector. What has not gone down is in the public sector and blacks in particular are disproportionately in the public sector.
One of the reasons those jobs have gone down, or have remained down is one the Republicans are cutting a lot of the agencies, where we are the employees are government jobs, government employed and a lot of those jobs go through governors and mayors who are also have had cutbacks. So what we’ve got to do and we addressed that to the President is take on these governors and mayors as well as the private sector on why the private sector is getting all these contract and bailouts and not hiring and correcting the disproportionate amount of their employment does not touch our community and have the President and them support us in that.”

Good News: Obama consulted with Al Sharpton over the fiscal cliff...

My guess is Rev. Al told him to spend...spend...spend...

Via The Weekly Standard:

At the same meeting, Obama also consulted with other "leaders of civil rights and civic organizations."

Good News: Al Sharpton's Work Against Voter ID Laws Is "Non-Partisan"

Is he serious?

Via Newsbusters:

DEBBIE WASSERMAN-SCHULTZ: The Democratic party is going to do everything we can to make sure that regardless of whether you speak English or Spanish, regardless of where you live, if you are eligible to vote, and lawfully eligible to vote, we are going to do everything we can to make sure you can cast that ballot. The Republicans are doing everything they can to prevent it.

AL SHARPTON: Now, congresswoman, you know I've spent some time in Florida lately

WASSERMAN-SCHULTZ: Yes you did, and thank you for that [giggles]

SHARPTON: -- around voter ID, and it's been non-partisan, not for either party.

Unlikely: MSNBC claims “Reverend Al Sharpton never ‘rushed to judgment’ of George Zimmerman

Race-baiting Al rush to judgement?

Via Politico:
MSNBC is pushing back against Fox News host Sean Hannity, who last night accused MSNBC host the Rev. Al Sharpton of “rushing to judgment” in the case of George Zimmerman, the neighborhood watchman who shot and killed Trayvon Martin.
“MSNBC would like to set the record straight following some misinformation presented by Fox News during the interview with George Zimmerman last night,” MSNBC wrote in a statement sent to POLITICO. “Reverend Al Sharpton never ‘rushed to judgment,’ as stated by Mr. Hannity. Reverend Sharpton repeatedly called for calm and for a more thorough investigation in the wake of the tragic events. Ultimately, the authorities agreed an arrest was warranted.”

Al Sharpton at BET Awards: “this election is not just about Obama, this is about your momma.”

Is there anyone in America that takes the clown seriously?

Via Mediaite:

Sunday night’s BET Awards honored MSNBC host Reverend Al Sharpton with their annual BET Humanitarian Award. Previous winners include Muhammed Ali, Harry Belafonte, and Magic Johnson. During his acceptance speech, Rev. Sharpton got a bit political, encouraging the black community to vote this November because “this election is not just about Obama, this is about your momma.”
BET said that Sharpton would receive the award for his efforts in giving “a voice to the voiceless,” citing his MSNBC coverage of the Trayvon Martin case as a recent example, and for “his dedication to improving the rights of African-Americans.”
“We want to protect the vote. There’s all kind of schemes — voter ID — trying to stop us from voting,” he said.
“There are people that want to take away our rights, people want to change Medicaid and Medicare,” he continued. “I support and love the president but whatever you do, vote, because this election is not just about Obama, this is about your momma,” he added to applause.
