Shock Video: O'Reilly wants to federalize gun crime, establish a National Gun Registry

I guess looking out for the folks doesn't include gun owners or 2nd Amendment supporters. O'Reilly is a blowhard who is completely out of touch with the 21st Century and most Americans. There is no danger of O'Reilly reading this post. He doesn't personally use the Internet or social media. His information is filtered by aids and he has a very narrow view that mostly aligns with he crap put out by the mainstream media.



I won't even dignify the horrible, and likely unconstitutional, idea of a National Gun Registry with a counter argument. As for the idea of federalizing gun crimes, when has putting the Federal Government in charge of anything ever made it better?

Bill Reilly's book Killing Lincoln: The Shocking Assassination that Changed America Forever has been banned at Ford Theater. The stated reason  is errors.

(WaPo)- Of all the places you’d expect to find Bill O’Reilly’s new history “Killing Lincoln: The Shocking Assassination That Changed America Forever,” Ford’s Theatre — the site of the dreadful act — should rank right at the top. But you’d do better to search for the bestseller on Amazon because it has been banned from the theater’s store.

The crime? O’Reilly and his co-author Martin Dugard have displayed a serial disregard for historical fact.

For a purported history of the assassination — an “unsanitized and uncompromising ... no spin American story,” as the authors put it, “Killing Lincoln” is sloppy with the facts and slim on documentation, according to a study conducted by Rae Emerson, the deputy superintendent of Ford’s Theatre National Historic Site, which is a unit of the National Park Service.

The study claimed about 10 factual errors. That number is unfortunate, but doesn't seem like a huge number to me. Here is what the National Park Service says about products sold in their stores.

The products sold at Eastern National bookstores are a combination of Eastern National-produced items and merchandise purchased through outside vendors, including books, reproductions, apparel, and collectibles. All products sold in Eastern National retail outlets are evaluated by National Park Service interpreters for historical accuracy, quality, and relevance to park themes. Strict standards are maintained to ensure we offer the finest quality products that will enhance visitors’ experiences. As a cooperating association, Eastern National sells only products that the National Park Service has approved.

I visited the Ford's Theatre online store here to see what else they were selling. The stores are managed by this company. They were selling this book The Lincolns in the White House: Four Years That Shattered a Familythat was trashed on Amazon for having too many factual errors, including one on Page1. Perhaps they didn't bother to review that book or a few errors weren't as important at the time. What else at the online store managed to meet the historically accurate and strict standards?

There is this Dangle Legs Lincoln ornament with a small body and short legs. Somehow, this fit the historically accurate and strict standard.

Another item that must have met these high standards is patriotic boxers. Putting the U.S. flag on underwear and selling it in a National Parks service sponsored gift shop is highly inappropriate, unless they want to claim former President Lincoln owned a pair.

If O'Reilly had ripped into Barack Obama like this during one of his interviews, I would have a lot more respect for him. This is classic Bill O'Reilly. As a side note, Carney makes it clear President Obama is wanting to pay for his new stimulus with tax hikes.

FOX News Scrubs O'Reilly Email Segment About Obama's Social Security Number

 President Obama's social security number looks very fishy. In Bill O'Reilly's "birther" debunking segment, O'Reilly completely ignored this issue. He did respond to a viewer email asking about it. O'Reilly claimed Barack Obama Sr. must have gotten the number for his son when he lived in Connecticut.  We know, from the number, President Obama's social security number was issued in Connecticut in the late 1970's. At that time, Obama Sr. was clearly back in Kenya. Furthermore, there is no evidence Barack Obama Sr. or Jr. ever lived in Connecticut. That claim is ridiculous. Shamefully, FOX News has edited that part of O'Reilly's mail segment from their website and podcast.

The scrubbed part is included in the embedded video at about the 9:00 mark. The entire video is very informative if you haven't researched this issue.

The Commerce clause of the Constitution has long been abused by Congress to justify government intervention in our lives. This part of the Constitution gives Congress the power to regulate interstate and international commerce. This has nothing to do with forcing Americans to buy health insurance or anything else. Any Congressperson who would try to force Americans to buy something they do not want has not read the Constitution or doesn't care what is in it. Bill O'Reilly has read the Constitution and he clearly believes some of the mandatory insurance purchase proposals in Obamacare are unconstitutional.
