Report: Pastor Terry Jones arrested on the way to a Koran barbeque...

FOX 13 News

They have accused him of transporting hazardous materials and openly carrying a firearm. Hazardous materials? Well, it was a bunch of Korans...
MULBERRY (FOX 13) - Controversial Pastor Terry Jones was arrested this afternoon while on his way to the planned Koran-burning demonstration in Polk County.

Wednesday evening, Polk Sheriff Grady Judd said in a press conference that he warned Jones that if he broke the law in Polk County, he would be arrested.

"He did, and we did," Judd said.

Jones' vehicle was pulled over by the sheriff's office for allegedly transporting hazardous materials. Some of the 3,000 kerosene-soaked Korans were apparently inside a grill that was being towed behind a truck.

Judd also said Jones was openly carrying a firearm when he got out of the truck, which was a violation of the law.
This looks political to me...

NATO Troops Cleared of Malicious Intent in Koran Burning

How were they to know the proper way to dispose of a Koran was to throw in in a sewage canal?
(Washington Times) — The Pentagon said Tuesday that a joint NATO-Afghan investigation into the burning of Korans at Bagram Air Field has been completed.
The investigation found that the “disposal process” of the Korans was improper but was not a malicious act intended to show disrespect for Afghans or Islam.
The probe was conducted by the International Security Assistance Force and the Afghan Ministry of Defense.
“It did find that there were some U.S. personnel who did improperly treat these religious texts, including some of their supervisory personnel,” said Navy Capt. John Kirby, a Pentagon spokesman. “And it recommended that they be reviewed for potential disciplinary action.”
The Korans ended up in an incinerator after Afghan prisoners were found using the holy books to pass messages to one another.

Pantsuit calls Republican's criticism of Obama's groveling Koran burning apology "not helpful"

Here is what the right thing to have done was.
(CNN) — Criticism of President Barack Obama’s apology for the burning of Qurans in Afghanistanis not helpful, Secretary of State Hillary Clinton said Sunday in a wide-ranging interview with CNN.

“I find it somewhat troubling that our politics would enflame such a dangerous situation in Afghanistan,” Clinton said of the complaints by Republican presidential candidates and some experts about Obama’s apology.
Obama apologized Thursday in a letter to Afghan President Hamid Karzai for the burning of Qurans, which he called “inadvertent” and an “error.”

It was the right thing to do to have our president on record as saying this was not intentional, we deeply regret it,” Clinton said.

More Koran Burning

The Kindle Qur'an | Kindle Koran | Kindle Quran | Kindle Al-Qur'an (Definitive English Edition) Complete and Unabridged With Full Color Reproductions ... Moslem | Qur'an | Koran | Quran | Al-Qur'an)

No. It's not that kooky pastor in Florida. Ironically, protesters in Afghanistan are inadvertently burning Korans while they protest Koran burning.
(Christian Science Monitor) — As the dust settles in Afghanistan after sustained protest over a Florida pastor’s Quran burning, many residents in Kandahar are facing an unpleasant truth: More Qurans were burned in the course of their protests than by Terry Jones.

The demonstrations, which started peacefully, quickly turned violent, killing at least nine people and injuring scores in Kandahar City alone. And as protesters vandalized a girls’ school and set fire to shops, Qurans also inadvertently went up in flames.

“If they burn a shop, there is a Quran in every shop, so this is a big problem,” says Azizullah Aziz, a perfume and soap salesman in Kandahar City. “People don’t know how to protest.”

Rush Limbaugh: “The Koran Gets Burned All The Time When Muslims Blow Each Other Up In Their Mosques”

Rush Limbaugh makes an interesting point.

From the video:
“These protests are now entering their fourth day. Never mind that nobody even knew about the burning of the Koran – it happened more than two weeks ago – until these devout Muslims brought it up. Never mind that the Koran gets burned all the time when Muslims blow each other up in their mosques. And never mind that the US burned Bibles in Afghanistan back in 2009.”

Religion of Peace Alert: Two Christians Killed in Response to Florida Pastor Koran Burning

The Complete Infidel's Guide to the Koran

In addition to murdering Christians, attacking churches and burning bibles, they are demanding the death of Pastor Jones.
Islamabad (AsiaNews) - Two believers killed, churches attacked, copies of the Bible burned: the Christian community in Pakistan is once again the victim of violence by Islamic fundamentalists, who have targeted places of worship in the country. The extremist violence was triggered by the insane act - repeatedly condemned by Christians in Pakistan and India – of the pastor Wayne Sapp, who last March 20, in Florida burned a Koran under the supervision of the evangelical preacher Terry Jones...

Meanwhile, the weekend demonstrations were repeated against the burning of the Koran wanted by Pastor Terry Jones in different cities of Pakistan - among other Peshawar, Lahore and Islamabad. The demonstrators, who burned his picture and chanted slogans and chants against the United States, called for the death of U.S. preacher. Extremists also threatened reprisals and other targeted attacks against Christians, if the U.S. government fails to take action against Pastor Jones.

Gen. David Petraeus and White House Oppose Koran Burning, but U.S. Military Burned Bibles in Afghanistan

General David Petraeus took a rare position on a domestic issue by opposing the planned burning of Korans by a Florida church. The White House called it un-American.
On Monday, Petraeus said the Quran-burning event would be exploited by the Taliban. The White House also spoke out against the plan as "un-American" and said it would put American diplomats and travelers at risk.

"It could endanger troops and it could endanger the overall effort," he said. "It is precisely the kind of action the Taliban uses and could cause significant problems. Not just here, but everywhere in the world, we are engaged with the Islamic community."

However, both Petraeus and the White House were silent in May of 2009 when the U.S. Military burned bibles in Afghanistan.
Military personnel threw away, and ultimately burned, confiscated Bibles that were printed in the two most common Afghan languages amid concern they would be used to try to convert Afghans, a Defense Department spokesman said Tuesday.

The White House and Gen. Petraeus need to choose a consistent position. They are either pro holy book burning or anti holy book burning. Which is it?
