62 percent of Republicans oppose U.S. citizenship for illegal immigrants...

Most illegal immigrants are Hispanic. Over 70% of Hispanics voted for Obama.  That was a strategic mistake on their part. Republicans can do math and most aren't up for political suicide. Most never were crazy about rewarding people breaking our laws anyway.

Via Washington Examiner:
A majority of Republicans oppose the party leadership’s efforts to reform immigration, with 62 percent dead set against giving illegal immigrants U.S. citizenship, according to a new poll.
Although the nation overall leans in favor of immigration reform, the Republicans polled by YouGov.com are against most elements of the proposals being studied in the House, including some of those circulated by Speaker John Boehner at last week’s party retreat on Maryland’s Eastern Shore.

Sen. Ted Cruz will renounce his Canadian citizenship...

Did Obama ever renounce his British and Kenyan citizenship? How about his Indonesian citizenship?

Via WaPo:
Sen. Ted Cruz (R-Texas) announced Monday evening that he will renounce his Canadian citizenship, less than 24 hours after a newspaper pointed out that the Canadian-born senator likely maintains dual citizenship.
“Now the Dallas Morning News says that I may technically have dual citizenship,” Cruz said in a statement. “Assuming that is true, then sure, I will renounce any Canadian citizenship. Nothing against Canada, but I’m an American by birth and as a U.S. senator; I believe I should be only an American.”
The Dallas Morning News wrote in a story posted late Sunday night that Cruz likely remains a Canadian citizen, by virtue of being born there to an American mother. Having never renounced that citizenship, Cruz was technically a Canadian and an American citizen, according to legal experts.
Cruz said his mother told him that he could claim his citizenship if he ever wanted to, but that he never pursued it and thought the matter was settled.
Legal experts say that Cruz is a Canadian citizen regardless of whether he asked for it or not.
“Because I was a U.S. citizen at birth, because I left Calgary when I was 4 and have lived my entire life since then in the U.S., and because I have never taken affirmative steps to claim Canadian citizenship, I assumed that was the end of the matter,” Cruz said.
Cruz, who released his birth certificate as part of the Morning News story, accused the media of focusing on trivial issues.

Pew Research Poll: 55 percent oppose granting citizenship to immigrants who are in the U.S. illegally

Granting illegals citizenship doesn't look like a winning issue...

Via Washington Examiner:
According to a new Pew Research poll, a majority of Americans, 55 percent, oppose granting citizenship to immigrants who are in the U.S. illegally. An even bigger majority, however, 71 percent, believe illegal immigrants should be allowed to stay in the country legally.
Perhaps most surprisingly, no demographic is more supportive of granting citizenship to illegal immigrants than blacks. In fact, at 52 percent, blacks are the only demographic of which a majority supports granting illegal immigrants citizenship. Only 49 percent of Hispanics, 48 percent of Democrats, and 47 percent of college graduates back citizenship for illegal immigrants.
Republican, 38 percent, and whites without a college degree, also 38 percent, are the least supportive of citizenship benefits for illegal immigrants.

Good News: MSNBC's Ed Schultz May Become Canadian Citizen (Video)

Let's hope MSNBC's Ed Schultz is serious, but I doubt the Canadians would take him.

If you don't love America, you can leave it, but there is a $450 fee

It now cost $450 to renounce your American citizenship.
WASHINGTON — U.S. citizenship is priceless to some, worthless to others. But now the State Department has a dollar figure: U.S. citizenship is worth $450.

At least that’s what it will cost you to renounce it.

Under new consular fees published Thursday in the Federal Register, the cost of processing a formal renunciation of U.S. citizenship skyrocketed from $0 to $450. The announcement locks in fee hikes that had been proposed in 2010 and instituted on an interim basis.

The State Department doesn’t say how or why it calculated the cost. Citizenship is free for most Americans who are accorded the privilege at birth. The department says only that it “has decided that the renunciant should pay this fee at the visit during which he or she swears the oath of renunciation.”

Robert Gibbs Advocates Profiling for Obama’s citizenship status?

Robert Gibbs thinks you can tell where Obama was born by his looks. What?
"Rational people have long ago, maybe when they first heard or saw the President come to the conclusion on his citizenship."

Possible reason Obama hates the British has been revealed

Barack Hussein Obama with his grandmother, Sarah Hussein Obama, in Africa

Have you ever wondered why President Obama hates the British? His father was a Kenyan citizen and British subject. At the time of Obama's birth, Kenya was a British colony and Barack Obama became a Kenyan citizen and British subject by birth.

Factcheck.org reported:
When Barack Obama Jr. was born on Aug. 4,1961, in Honolulu, Kenya was a British colony, still part of the United Kingdom's dwindling empire. As a Kenyan native, Barack Obama Sr. was a British subject whose citizenship status was governed by The British Nationality Act of 1948. That same act governed the status of Obama Sr.'s children:

British Nationality Act of 1948 (Part II, Section 5): Subject to the provisions of this section, a person born after the commencement of this Act shall be a citizen of the United Kingdom and Colonies by descent if his father is a citizen of the United Kingdom and Colonies at the time of the birth.

In other words, at the time of his birth, Barack Obama Jr. was both a U.S. citizen (by virtue of being born in Hawaii) and a citizen of the United Kingdom and Colonies (or the UKC) by virtue of being born to a father who was a citizen of the UKC. Emphasis mine.

Even though Obama's family were British citizens, they were at odds with the colonial government. President Obama's paternal grandfather was imprisoned and allegedly tortured by the British. Obama's middle name (Hussein) is from his paternal grandfather.

The Daily Mail reported:

The Kenyan bowed his head as his captors opened the prison cell door to deliver another brutal whipping - a punishment meted out after he was accused of taking part in the independence movement against the British colonial authorities.

The man had been working as a cook for a British Army officer. And his name? Hussein Onyango Obama - President Barack Obama's paternal grandfather....

'The African warders were instructed by the white soldiers to whip him every morning and evening till he repented,' says Sarah Onyango, Hussein Onyango's third wife, and the woman President Obama calls 'Granny Sarah'.

Mrs Onyango, now 89, says 'white soldiers' visited the prison every two or three days...

This week, she told the Mail in an exclusive interview that she believes that learning of the torture meted out to his grandfather turned her grandson, the U.S. President, against Britain. Sitting under a mango tree in the garden of her modest home in Kogelo village, Kenya, surrounded by the family's chickens, cows and goat, she recalls telling Barack Obama his family history on his first visit to Kenya in 1988.

'I narrated the whole story to Barack one evening...
Emphasis mine.

Obama Shared His Liberal Dreams at the National Prayer Breakfast

President Obama attended the National Prayer Breakfast this morning. What is he wishing for? He spoke about immigration reform, Cap-and-Trade, Obamacare and Gay marriage. You know, those values he claims to have in common with his fellow Americans. Oh, don't even think about questioning his citizenship unless you want to be accused of a lack if civility.

Was Obama adopted by Indonesian Citizen Lolo Soetoro?

The evidence would indicate young Barack Hussein Obama was adopted by Indonesian citizen Lolo Soetoro after Soetoro and Obama's mother were married. The most convincing evidence is the Hawaii divorce papers filed in 1980 as Stanley Ann Soetoro vs. Lolo Soetoro. This document lists the couple as having two children. One is under the age of eighteen. That would be Maya Soetoro who was born in 1970. The other child is listed as over eighteen and in need of educational support. That would be Barry Soeroto (Barack Hussein Obama.) There are no other known children related to this marriage.

Stanly Ann Soeroto vs. Lolo Soetoro

(Click picture for larger view) PDF file here.

Another piece of evidence is Obama's Indonesian school record. This Indonesian school record has Obama using Soetoro's last name and Lolo Soetoro is listed as his father.

Barry Soetoro's Indonesian School Card

Document found here.

When Obama entered Occidental College in 1979, his mother and Lolo were still married. He appears to have registered under the name Barry Soetoro. It was at Occidental where he reverted to the name Barack Obama after his mother's divorce. We can not view his actual Occidental College records because he won't release them either.

From the Official Occidental College blog:
It was at Occidental where he stopped being called “Barry” and became Barack Obama, Newsweek pointed out in its account of Obama’s formative years that featured his black-and-white freshman photo on the cover. “It was when I made a conscious decision: I want to grow up,” he told the magazine.

This combination of evidence strongly supports the fact that Barack Hussein Obama was adopted and became an Indonesian citizen for several years.

Does this mean Barack Obama is not a natural born citizen under the Constitution? That is a difficult question. Conservative Brawler has a great analysis. You should visit his site and read the whole analysis. I have excerpted a key part below.

From Conservative Brawler:
Let's first address this from the "birther" perspective that, under older Indonesian law, Obama would have been stripped of his US citizenship after he was adopted. Since Indonesia did/does not allow dual citizenship; the United States would not recognize dual citizenship with Indonesia (since the United States only permitted dual citizenship when both countries agreed, as per the Hague Convention of 1930). Since Obama was a “natural” citizen of Indonesia after his adoption, the United States could/would not have stepped in or interfered with the laws of Indonesia. In which case, he would become solely a citizen of Indonesia and would have had to become a naturalized American citizen when returning to Hawaii several years later - thus making him a naturalized, not "natural-born" citizen and, therefore, ineligible to serve as President of the United States.

From the perspective of current law, there is no suggestion that Obama would have been stripped of his US citizenship. He would have, under section 6 (1-3) of the Indonesian citizenship law, had to issue a written denunciation to Indonesia of either his Indonesian or American nationality sometime between is 18th and 21st birthday. Did he do it? Who knows, the man won't release his records!

But let us look at the possible paths he could have taken:
a) he wrote the Indonesian authorities sometime between his 18th and 21st birthday to tell them he had chosen his American citizenship
b) he wrote the Indonesian authorities sometime between his 18th and 21st birthday to tell them he had chosen his Indonesian citizenship
c) he did nothing and, therefore, is in violation of Indonesian law

If 'a' then either Obama or Indonesia should have the records to prove it. If 'b' then, according to INA § 349, 8 USC § 1481, Obama isn't even an American citizen, let-alone "natural-born." If 'c' then he's facing a whole world of legal troubles and scandal. But let's assume he did 'a.' If he waited until he was 21 to file his papers with Indonesia, that would certainly explain the rumors about his using an Indonesian passport to get into Pakistan in 1981. That's a pretty big "if," though. And if this is what Obama did, then he and Indonesia would have the records to prove it.

If Obama was adopted in Hawaii by by Lolo Soeroto, it could explain why he won't release his original birth record. He may not be able to without a court order. The original birth certificate of an adopted person is sealed and can not be retrieved without a court order.

From Adoption Information:
Where are original birth certificates kept?

Birth certificates are usually kept at your state's Vital Records Department. An original birth certificate will be issued after when the appropriate forms are sent in by the hospital where the baby was born. If a child is adopted and an amended birth certificate is issued, the original birth certificate is stored in an inaccessible location unless a court orders the birth certificate be retrieved. (accent is mine)

If adoption by an Indonesian citizen is the reason President Obama is hiding his college and birth records, he will never willingly release them. The release would open up questions about his "natural born" status and could cause people to question his loyalty based on his time as an Indonesian citizen.

Rush Limbaugh: 'Obama has yet to prove he's a citizen' (audio)

On yesterday's radio show, Rush Limbaugh brought up the controversy over Barack Obama's failure to produce his original birth certificate and other records. Apparently, Limbaugh is in the middle of another tax audit.

From the audio:
“Barack Obama has yet to have to prove he’s a citizen. All he’d have to do is show a birth certificate. He has yet to have to prove he’s — I have to show them 14 different ways where the hell I am every day of the year for three years.”

Alan Keyes rips Obama a new one(video)

I am not a big Alan Keyes fan, but I did enjoy this video. Alan Keyes calls Obama an "Obamanation" for his position on "born alive" abortion. Also, he questions Obama's status as a natural born citizen and calls him an "usurper". Then, he really gets going. Wow! No punches held here.

ConstitutionWatch.org jumps into the Obama birth certificate fray

ConstitutionWatch.org has been on the sidelines during the discussion of Barack Obama's status as a natural born citizen. Just before his inauguration-they have jumped into the battle with both feet. They explain the history of the controversy and how it applies to the Constitution. ConstitutionWatch.org makes no claim about Barack Obama's status. They do present a laundry list of '100% truths.' Also, they accuse Factcheck.org and DailyKos.com of being caught 'red handed' presenting 'fake' copies of Obama's birth certificate.

Alert: Constitutional Crisis Looming

The Facts
Although we will not jump to conclusions and accuse Barack Obama of not being a natural born citizen, we will list the facts- absolute, 100% truths, below:

* It has been said, and verified, that Barack Obama’s grandmother in Kenya told many of her neighbors, friends and relatives that she witnessed Barack Obama’s birth- in Kenya. Whether or not that is the truth, the fact is that she made that statement. That, alone, should be enough to spark an investigation.
* Officials at Occidental College in Los Angeles, Calif., have been served with a demand to produce records concerning Barack Obama’s attendance there during the 1980s because they could document whether he was attending as a foreign national or not.
* The Supreme Court and Congress are both are being challenged to address the worries that Obama doesn’t meet the requirements of the U.S. Constitution that the president be a natural born citizen.
* A long list of legal cases have been filed against Barack Obama.
* “If Obama is sworn in as president, we will file a Petition for Writ of ‘Quo Warranto,’ a case that will challenge Obama as being ineligible to serve as president because he is ‘not qualified,’” said Philip J. Berg, a lawyer who has brought several cases to court. Berg, whose information is on his ObamaCrimes.com website, indicated the issue isn’t going away.
* Orly Taitz, a California lawyer, has filed a dispute against Barack Obama.
* Some allege his birth took place in Kenya, and his mother was a minor at the time of his birth – too young to confer American citizenship. They argue Obama’s father, Barack Obama Sr., was a Kenyan citizen subject to the jurisdiction of the United Kingdom at the time and would have handed down British citizenship.
* There also are questions raised about Obama’s move to Indonesia when he was a child and his attendance at school there when only Indonesian citizens were allowed and his travel to Pakistan in the ’80s when such travel was forbidden to American citizens.
* Barack Obama and his own half-sister provide two different answers in regards to the hospital he was born at. Excerpted from ConstitutionWatch.org
