MARSHALLTOWN, Iowa -- Republican presidential front-runner Donald Trump says he will not attend a debate scheduled for Thursday night in Des Moines, an unexpected twist just days before voters here launch the election process.
"I probably won't be doing the debate. I'm going to have something else in Iowa," he said during a press conference in a high school workout room on Tuesday afternoon.
After the press conference, Trump campaign manager Corey Lewandowski confirmed to The Washington Post that Trump would "definitely not" participate in Thursday's Fox News debate.
“He’s definitely not participating in the Fox News debate," Lewandowski said. "His word is his bond."
He said Trump would remain in Iowa as planned and would instead host an event in the state to raise money for wounded warriors and other veterans groups.

Fox News Poll: Trump leading and steady, Carson and Cruz up...
Jeb Bush is the big loser...
Via Fox News:
Via Fox News:
Businessman Donald Trump still leads the field for the Republican nomination. He gets 25 percent among GOP primary voters. He was at 26 percent before the debate. Trump’s support among women went from 24 percent two weeks ago to 21 percent now. He mostly held steady among men (28 percent).
The real-estate mogul maintains his first-place status despite also being judged in the poll as having the worst debate performance and being considered the least likeable Republican candidate. More on that later.
The August 6 Republican presidential debate was hosted by Fox News Channel in Cleveland. Several of the exchanges at the debate remained in the news for days after.
Next in the GOP race is Carson, who garners 12 percent. That’s up five percentage points since the debate and puts him in double-digits for the first time since mid-June. Cruz captures 10 percent, up four points.

Fox claims they will use the same moderators for January GOP presidential debate...
Well, I for one won't be watching. If I were Donald Trump, I would boycott the debate.
Via Young Cons:
Via Young Cons:
Apparently, during the next round of GOP debates in September, the moderators will be Hugh Hewitt and CNN’s Jake Tapper.
Hewitt has already come out as not being a major Donald Trump supporter, as we learned on August 6 that neither was Fox News’ Megyn Kelly.
A petition circulated to get Kelly removed from moderating any future debates after many felt she attacked the billionaire mogul, but I guess that won’t stop her from asking questions to all the candidates come January, 2016.
From L.A. Times:
FNC has another debate scheduled in January before the Iowa caucuses and Kelly, “Special Report” anchor Bret Baier and “Fox News Sunday” anchor Chris Wallace will be moderating again, a representative for the channel confirmed.

Fox News Fail: New Tracking Poll Finds Trump Way Up (32%) After Ambush Debate By Megyn Kelly And Fox News...
Fox News took a big swing at Trump and missed...
Donald Trump's lead over his Republican presidential rivals grew substantially in the days following the first GOP debate and his controversial comments about moderator Megyn Kelly.I am guessing they lost some viewership as a result.
Trump’s support increased by 7 points, to 32 percent, according to the latest Morning Consult tracking poll. The real estate mogul’s closest rival — former Florida Gov. Jeb Bush — lost 1 point, down to 11 percent support among self-identified Republicans and Republican-leaning independents.
Support for all other candidates was in the single digits in the poll.
Mark Levin On Debate: Fox News Owes America An Apology...
I couldn't agree more.
Via Breitbart:
Via Breitbart:
Lawyer, constitutional scholar, best selling author, and conservative talk radio host Mark Levin, in an interview on the Breitbart News Saturday radio program, expressed outrage at the Thursday night GOP presidential debate hosted by Fox News.
Levin asserted, “I think that we were all duped. The fact of the matter is that this was a ratings gambit.”
Levin spoke to the program’s host, Breitbart News Executive Chairman Stephen K. Bannon on the phone, while riding a train to a book signing event in Huntington, Long Island for his latest best seller, Plunder and Deceit: Big Government’s Exploitation of Young People and the Future.
Levin claims that “We the people” were overlooked in the debate, and the event became a media spectacle with more emphasis on the show’s moderators than on discussing the important issues that face America. “Even today, it’s all about who has Megyn Kelly’s back. We the people, this is our process. We don’t get that many opportunities to go through the primary process. There are only nine debates,” he said.
“The Great One” pointed out that Fox had an opportunity to host one of these important debates, “And they took advantage of us, they took advantage of the audience.” Levin explained that Kelly”s “question two,” accusing Donald Trump of making inappropriate comments to Rosie O’Donnell and others, “was outrageous.” Levin suggested that Fox went to great lengths to engage in “oppositional research” on Mr. Trump.

The Fox News debate was a pathetic reality TV show...
After watching the debate, do you really have a better understanding of where the candidates are on the important issues of the day and what they plan to do about them? I don't. I doubt anyone does. Instead of a serious debate on the issues, we got a lot of useless drama that was deliberately created by the Fox News moderators. They spent too much time talking and sometimes actually seemed to be debating the candidates themselves. They took each candidate's most vulnerable area, especially Trump, and conducted an inquisition. Does anyone really care what Donald Trump called Rosie O'Donnell or if some of his many companies failed in the past? Does it really matter if Jeb Bush was on the board of a foundation that in the past donated money to Planned Parenthood? No. Here are the issues on voters minds in 2015. The economy and jobs is top and some of the candidates tried to talk about their records, but this wasn't even a topic of the 9:00 PM debate.
What Fox News should have done is asked each candidate to respond to these question.
If we knew each candidate's position on those issues, we would be much better voters. Instead, we have been entertained. Fox News should be embarrassed. They are no longer journalists.
What Fox News should have done is asked each candidate to respond to these question.
- What exactly will you do to create jobs and stimulate the economy?
- How would you change the tax code for businesses and individuals?
- Will you commit to ending Obamacare? How will you accomplish that goal? What, if anything, do you plan to replace it with?
- Is there any issue you feel strongly enough about to shut down the government to achieve it?
- Will you vow to stamp out ISIS and how will you do it?
- What will you do about the Iran nuclear program and how will you rebuild our relationship with Israel?
- How will you secure the border and what will you do with the millions of illegal immigrants already here?
- What government programs would you cut to help balance the budget?
- What federal regulations would your repeal or modify?
- Do you believe recent climate change is mostly man-made or mostly natural and why?

Fox News has the most trusted network and cable news coverage in the United States, according to a new Quinnipiac University poll released Monday. But network TV is much less trustworthy than it was in the days of Walter Cronkite, American voters say.
In comparison rankings, 29 percent responded that they trust Fox News the most. CNN follows with 22 percent, CBS News and NBC News are at 10 percent, ABC News at 8 percent and MSNBC at 7 percent.
Asked whether they trust the journalistic coverage of each network, 20 percent said they do “a great deal” for Fox, and 35 percent said “somewhat.”

Dish network dumps FOX; 90,000 subscribers dump Dish Network...
This is only going to get worse for Dish Network. Many more would have already left it it weren't for the early termination fees. FOX News is the go to news source for as much as 40% of America.
Thousands of TV viewers have proven they’re more loyal to Fox News than to the Dish network, following a dispute between the TV provider and political news channel. Since Dish removed Fox News Channel and Fox Business Network on Dec. 20, the provider has lost about 90,000 subscribers.
The source of the dispute involves an argument over contract negotiations:
Dish CEO Charlie Ergen in a Christmas Eve video on Dishstandsforyou.com said the parties were nearing a deal, even though Fox News was looking for an increase doubling its rate – a hike he said was somewhat justified given its leadership status in the space. He said the talks, broke down when Fox introduced a third network into the conversation, for which it was eyeing a “surcharge” that would have trebled the cost for a service that was not scheduled to expire “for some time.” Ergen didn’t identify the service. In addition to the 90,000 people who have dropped Dish, a total of 350,000 people have called the provider or searched for alternatives in their area.

FOX News is the most trusted name in news by a huge margin...
FOX News wins the trust poll hands down. it's not even close. MSNBC and NBC are at the bottom.
NBC News and sister cable network MSNBC rank at the bottom of media outlets Americans trust most for news, with Fox News leading the way, according to a new poll from the Democratic firm Public Policy Polling.
In its fifth trust poll, 35 percent said they trusted Fox news more than any other outlet, followed by PBS at 14 percent, ABC at 11 percent, CNN at 10 percent, CBS at 9 percent, 6 percent for MSNBC and Comedy Central, and just 3 percent for NBC.
The pollster said Fox won because Republicans are devoted to it. “It leads the way because of its continuing near total support among Republicans as the place to go for news- 69 percent of Republicans say it's their most trusted source with nothing else polling above 7 percent,” said PPP.

Follow UP: FOX segment surfer boy still unapologetic for buying lobster with food stamps...
HuffPo catches up with "Surfer Dude" Jason Greenslate...
WASHINGTON -- Jason Greenslate is America's most famous food stamp recipient. Here is the FOX News segment:
Fox News profiled the 28-year-old San Diego resident in two August segments about America's "food stamp binge." The stories showed Greenslate buying sushi and lobster with a Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program debit card. Greenslate plays in a rock band and laughed at the idea of getting a normal job.
“This is the way I want to live and I don’t really see anything changing,” Greenslate said in front of the news cameras. “It’s free food; it’s awesome.”[...]
Greenslate said he's not lazy, putting more than 40 hours per week into his band, Ratt Life, which has an album coming out in six weeks. He said Fox found him through a friend. He cooperated with three days of the network's filming in hopes his band could win some publicity. It won him some local media attention, he said, but also an interview with a local prosecutor who wondered if Greenslate had broken any laws (he apparently hasn't). [...]
In a follow-up email, Greenslate lamented that Fox had portrayed him as a beach bum. "I don't feel like a bum," he said. "I pull hot chicks, drive nice cars, dress nice and wear the most baddest jewelry in the world."
