Blame Game: Harry Reid's Chief of Staff Blames Obama for GOP Wave Election...
Popcorn anyone?
Via Mediaite:
Via Mediaite:
Let the circular firing squad begin. In a report by the Washington Post David Krone, chief of staff of dethroned Senate Majority Leader Harry Reid (D-NV), tossed the Democrats’ brutal midterm odds at the feet of President Barack Obama, arguing the White House undercut Senate fundraising efforts while saddling candidates with his unpopularity.
“The president’s approval rating is barely 40 percent,” Krone told the Post in the days before the election. “What else more is there to say? … He wasn’t going to play well in North Carolina or Iowa or New Hampshire. I’m sorry. It doesn’t mean that the message was bad, but sometimes the messenger isn’t good.”
Krone characterized working with the White House as “difficult” and gave voice to Democratic resentment that Obama’s electoral operation is more for his benefit than the party’s. “I don’t think that the political team at the White House truly was up to speed and up to par doing what needed to get done,” he said.

Obvious Tweet of the Day: Democrat Paul Begala blames Bush for Ebola...
Is there anything bad Bush isn't responsible for?
Bush spent the equivalent of the entire NIH budget every month in Iraq while NIH budget flat-lined. Iraq was no threat. Ebola is. Cancer is.

Let the Democrat's blame game begin...
Democrats are going to lose control of the Senate and lose seats in the House. They are already looking for scapegoats. Popcorn anyone?
Tempers are running high a month out from Election Day, with polls showing Democratic candidates trailing in the crucial battleground states that will decide whether control of Congress flips to Republicans.
The behind-the-scenes tension broke into the open last week when former Senate Majority Leader Tom Daschle (D-S.D.) questioned Senate Majority Leader Harry Reid’s (D-Nev.) decision not to endorse Democrat Rick Weiland in South Dakota’s Senate race. Pro-immigrant advocacy groups, meanwhile, are saying Democrats should not blame them if Latino voters don’t turn up to the polls on Election Day. They say President Obama made a tactical blunder by postponing an executive order easing deportations.
And grassroots organizers are grumbling about Alison Lundergan Grimes’s (D-Ky.) bid to take down Senate Minority Leader Mitch McConnell (R-Ky.), arguing her campaign has been disorganized.
“Yes, you’ve seen pre-emptive finger pointing in the last couple of weeks,” said Gerald Warburg, a former Senate Democratic leadership aide and assistant dean at the University of Virginia’s Frank Batten School of Leadership and Public Policy.
"I used to work in the Democratic caucus and some of the toughest shootouts we ever engaged in were when we stood in a circle and fired at each other. I think you see a little bit of that now," he said.
With control of the Senate in jeopardy, some Democrats are eyeing potential scapegoats: Obama’s low approval rating; low turnout from Hispanic voters; overly centrist messaging; and the media, to name just a few.
One of the Senate’s most vulnerable incumbents, Sen. Mark Pryor (D-Ark.) recently said he wants to replace Reid by electing Sen. Charles Schumer (D-N.Y.) as majority leader. He made the comments at a fundraiser, according to audio obtained by The Washington Free Beacon.

Economy suffered surprise economic contraction in the fourth quarter of 2012. WH blames Republicans...
The lamestream media lets Team Obama get away with crap like this:
Via The Hill:
Via The Hill:
White House press secretary Jay Carney laid the blame for a surprise economic contraction squarely at the feet of congressional Republicans Wednesday, saying economic threats during the “fiscal cliff” negotiations had prevented important defense spending.
“Our economy is facing a major headwinds, and that’s Republicans in Congress,” Carney said.
The Commerce Department projected Wednesday that the nation’s gross domestic product (GDP) shrank by 0.1 percent in the fourth quarter of 2012.
Carney said that was partially attributable to the threat of sequestration, which would implement across-the-board spending cuts if a long-term deficit deal is not reached.
“This is political brinkmanship that results in one primary victim. That’s American taxpayers and the American middle class,” Carney said, acknowledging the GDP projection was bad news.

AFL-CIO President Richard Trumka know who to blame for dismal jobs report: Mitt Romney and Republicans
Why doesn't Trumpka just get out the clown suit and red nose?
Via Politico:
Via Politico:
AFL-CIO President Richard Trumka is out with a scathing statement attacking Mitt Romney and “his Republican allies in Congress” on the June jobs report.
“The cruel reality is Mitt Romney and his Republican allies in Congress are willing to sabotage the recovery in the hope of scoring political points against the President,” said Trumka, whose union endorsed President Obama earlier this year.
Trumka acknowledged the slow jobs growth reflected in Friday’s report, which showed unemployment unchanged at 8.2 percent.
“For America’s working people, the economy is simply not delivering right now,” he said. “The trend of slow job growth is both frustrating and heartbreaking. The economy added only 80,000 net new jobs last month — not nearly enough to bring unemployment down and fuel a robust recovery.”

Slip: Obama criticizes economic policies of “George Romney.”
After over four years of blaming Bush for everything, it's hard to change.
Via ABC News:
Via ABC News:
Criticizing his opponents’ economic policies at a New York fundraiser, President Obama made an interesting slip of the tongue tonight, identifying the GOP nominee as “George Romney.”
The enthusiastic crowd at the Broadway fundraiser reacted with giggles, and a few cheers, as the president regained his composure.
“Governor Romney … has had great success in his life and he’s raised a beautiful family,” the president ultimately said, correcting himself. “But he has a theory about the economy that basically says, if I’m maximizing returns for my investors, for wealthy individuals like myself, then everybody’s going to be better off.”
The president often argues Mitt Romney would lead the country back to the “failed policies” of his predecessor, George W. Bush, and tonight was no different.

Obama Blames Bush For Economy During Unveiling of Bush’s Presidential Portrait
Shameful...
Via Weekly Standard:
At the unveiling of former President George W. Bush’s official portrait at the White House this afternoon, President Barack Obama joined his predecessor and their wives in delivering brief (and at times nice, cordial, and funny) remarks. But there was a seemingly out of place moment during the ceremony when Obama seemed to veer into reiterating his frequent trope that he inherited a bad economy from Bush.
“The months before I took the oath of office were a chaotic time,” Obama said, after explaining that the president’s job is isolating, and that he and Bush have a connection since so few have held the job. “We knew our economy was in trouble, our fellow Americans were in pain, but we wouldn’t know until later just how breathtaking the financial crisis had been.”

Obama claims Republicans undermined middle-class and he has spent last three years “cleaning up after some of that mess"
A quick look at the RCM chart (pdf link) of household income from 2000~2012 (2000 base) shows that median household income was stable until President Obama took office. Even though the recession officially ended in mid 2009, household income has continued to plummet and shows no sign of recovery.
WASHINGTON (AP) — President Barack Obama said Thursday that the 2012 election will be a “fun debate” over two competing visions for the nation, referring to Mitt Romney as the Republican “front-runner” who has backed policies that would undermine middle-class families.
At a fundraiser held at a Washington hotel, Obama told supporters that his administration had spent the past three years “cleaning up after some of that mess, and I don’t want to have to do it again.” He warned that a budget plan pushed by House Republicans would hurt early childhood education, veterans and road and bridge projects crucial to the nation’s economic recovery.
Obama revisited many of the same arguments he made earlier in the week during a speech to newspaper executives, in which he framed the election as a choice between his work to use government to help people prosper and Republicans who would let average Americans struggle while pushing policies that help the wealthy few.
“It’s going to be a big debate, and it’s going to be a fun debate. Because it’s always good to have the truth on your side,” Obama said. Keep on reading...

President Obama blames Bush for the record number of people on food stamps under his administration
Obama does realize Bush has been out of office for over three years, doesn't he?
Via ABC News:
Obama pushed back against what he called Republicans’ “rhetorical flourishes,” including Newt Gingrich’s oft-repeated contention that Obama is the “food stamp president.”
“First of all, I don’t put people on food stamps,” Obama said. “People become eligible for food stamps. Second of all, the initial expansion of food-stamp eligibility happened under my Republican predecessor, not under me. No. 3, when you have a disastrous economic crash that results in 8 million people losing their jobs, more people are going to need more support from government.”

Obama denies he bailed out GM and Chrysler
President Obama bales Bush for the bailout of GM and Chrysler. He claims he "saved" them. The truth is Bush provided GM and Chrysler with $17.4 billion. President Obama ponied up $85 billion. Several billion will never be repaid.
(Washington Examiner) — President Obama today asserted that President Bush was responsible for bailing out auto companies in Detroit. Obama, on the other hand, implemented dramatic changes that saved the industry.
“Keep in mind,” Obama said, “That the administration before us, they had been writing some checks to the auto industry asking nothing in return. It was just a bailout, straight — straightforward.
Obama explained that he “demanded responsibility” from the auto industry, forcing it to “retool and to restructure,” making it “more efficient.”
“Over the past two years, that entire industry has added nearly 160,000 jobs.” Obama continued, “GM is number one in the world again. Ford is investing billions in new American plants. Chrysler is growing faster. So today, the American auto industry is back.”

Shocking Deception: President Obama blames Republicans for cancelling Keystone XL pipeline
President Obama had the ball. He decided to forfeit the game.
Via Mediaite:
Speaker of the House John Boehner lambasted President Obama for rejecting the Keystone XL pipeline during a press conference on Wednesday. “President Obama expedited approval of the Solyndra loan project, but won’t approve a project that’s been under review for over three years…President Obama is destroying tens of thousands of American jobs and shipping American energy security to the Chinese.”
President Obama defended himself in a statement saying Republican’s hurried deadline on the issue forced him to make the decision.
“The rushed and arbitrary deadline insisted on by Congressional Republicans prevented a full assessment of the pipeline’s impact, especially the health and safety of the American people, as well as our environment,” Obama wrote. “I’m disappointed that Republicans in Congress forced this decision, but it does not change my Administration’s commitment to American-made energy that creates jobs and reduces our dependence on oil.

WH Spokesman Jay Carney Shovels Some Elephant Crap or Something
This is WH Spokesman Jay Carney's latest attempt to blame Bush. Carney is shoveling crap allright, but it isn't left over from the Bush administration.
White House Press Secretary Jay Carney: The president spoke and has spoken clearly about the decisions that were taken in the previous administration that took surpluses and turned them into deficits — massive deficits, and they include the two tax cuts; they include an unfunded Medicare prescription drug program; they include two wars put on credit cards.
Now, we’ve spent a lot of time in this administration cleaning up the tent — the elephant tent, if you will. And it hasn’t always been an easy task.

Rush Limbaugh Exposes Obama's Blame Game (audio)
Did you ever know anyone who no matter what happens it is never their fault? We all have met people like this. Most of these people were children or immature adults. We have one in the White House now.
Pathetic: 54 months in office and Obama is still blaming Bush
President Obama is playing the blame Bush card over the deficit with donors. This sells with liberals, but the rest of us aren't buying it anymore.
(Reuters) – President Barack Obama said on Monday he inherited many of the country’s problems with high debt and deficits when he entered the White House, sounding a theme likely to dominate his 2012 re-election campaign.
Speaking at a Democratic fundraiser, where families paid $15,000 to get a picture with him, Obama defended his economic record and noted that problems in Europe were affecting the United States.
“We do have a serious problem in terms of debt and deficit, and much of it I inherited,” Obama said. The financial crisis, he said, made the problem worse.
Democrats and Republicans agreed to a deal to raise the debt ceiling and cut government spending last week, but credit rating agency Standard & Poor’s downgraded the United States, contributing to a steep fall in stock markets on Monday.

Gibbs Says Elections Are Not About Blaming Someone For The Economy. . . Proceeds To Blame Bush
Gibbs is a master of speaking out of both sides of his mouth at the same time.
(RCP) — Robert Gibbs says this election is not about “affixing blame” to the economic crisis after he noted people still blame Bush more than Obama for the troubled economy.
Gibbs also responds to Obama’s “bump in the road” comment that Romney pounced on in a web ad.
“This is not going to be and I’m not setting this up to be an election to blame George Bush, but what I’m suggesting is a series of decisions that got us into the mess is not a series of decisions we ought to make to get us out of it,” Gibbs told CNN’s David Gergen.
