Bush spent the equivalent of the entire NIH budget every month in Iraq while NIH budget flat-lined. Iraq was no threat. Ebola is. Cancer is.

Slip: Obama criticizes economic policies of “George Romney.”
After over four years of blaming Bush for everything, it's hard to change.
Via ABC News:
Via ABC News:
Criticizing his opponents’ economic policies at a New York fundraiser, President Obama made an interesting slip of the tongue tonight, identifying the GOP nominee as “George Romney.”
The enthusiastic crowd at the Broadway fundraiser reacted with giggles, and a few cheers, as the president regained his composure.
“Governor Romney … has had great success in his life and he’s raised a beautiful family,” the president ultimately said, correcting himself. “But he has a theory about the economy that basically says, if I’m maximizing returns for my investors, for wealthy individuals like myself, then everybody’s going to be better off.”
The president often argues Mitt Romney would lead the country back to the “failed policies” of his predecessor, George W. Bush, and tonight was no different.

Obama Blames Bush For Economy During Unveiling of Bush’s Presidential Portrait
Shameful...
Via Weekly Standard:
At the unveiling of former President George W. Bush’s official portrait at the White House this afternoon, President Barack Obama joined his predecessor and their wives in delivering brief (and at times nice, cordial, and funny) remarks. But there was a seemingly out of place moment during the ceremony when Obama seemed to veer into reiterating his frequent trope that he inherited a bad economy from Bush.
“The months before I took the oath of office were a chaotic time,” Obama said, after explaining that the president’s job is isolating, and that he and Bush have a connection since so few have held the job. “We knew our economy was in trouble, our fellow Americans were in pain, but we wouldn’t know until later just how breathtaking the financial crisis had been.”

Obama denies he bailed out GM and Chrysler
President Obama bales Bush for the bailout of GM and Chrysler. He claims he "saved" them. The truth is Bush provided GM and Chrysler with $17.4 billion. President Obama ponied up $85 billion. Several billion will never be repaid.
(Washington Examiner) — President Obama today asserted that President Bush was responsible for bailing out auto companies in Detroit. Obama, on the other hand, implemented dramatic changes that saved the industry.
“Keep in mind,” Obama said, “That the administration before us, they had been writing some checks to the auto industry asking nothing in return. It was just a bailout, straight — straightforward.
Obama explained that he “demanded responsibility” from the auto industry, forcing it to “retool and to restructure,” making it “more efficient.”
“Over the past two years, that entire industry has added nearly 160,000 jobs.” Obama continued, “GM is number one in the world again. Ford is investing billions in new American plants. Chrysler is growing faster. So today, the American auto industry is back.”

WH Spokesman Jay Carney Shovels Some Elephant Crap or Something
This is WH Spokesman Jay Carney's latest attempt to blame Bush. Carney is shoveling crap allright, but it isn't left over from the Bush administration.
White House Press Secretary Jay Carney: The president spoke and has spoken clearly about the decisions that were taken in the previous administration that took surpluses and turned them into deficits — massive deficits, and they include the two tax cuts; they include an unfunded Medicare prescription drug program; they include two wars put on credit cards.
Now, we’ve spent a lot of time in this administration cleaning up the tent — the elephant tent, if you will. And it hasn’t always been an easy task.

Pathetic: 54 months in office and Obama is still blaming Bush
President Obama is playing the blame Bush card over the deficit with donors. This sells with liberals, but the rest of us aren't buying it anymore.
(Reuters) – President Barack Obama said on Monday he inherited many of the country’s problems with high debt and deficits when he entered the White House, sounding a theme likely to dominate his 2012 re-election campaign.
Speaking at a Democratic fundraiser, where families paid $15,000 to get a picture with him, Obama defended his economic record and noted that problems in Europe were affecting the United States.
“We do have a serious problem in terms of debt and deficit, and much of it I inherited,” Obama said. The financial crisis, he said, made the problem worse.
Democrats and Republicans agreed to a deal to raise the debt ceiling and cut government spending last week, but credit rating agency Standard & Poor’s downgraded the United States, contributing to a steep fall in stock markets on Monday.

Gibbs Says Elections Are Not About Blaming Someone For The Economy. . . Proceeds To Blame Bush
Gibbs is a master of speaking out of both sides of his mouth at the same time.
(RCP) — Robert Gibbs says this election is not about “affixing blame” to the economic crisis after he noted people still blame Bush more than Obama for the troubled economy.
Gibbs also responds to Obama’s “bump in the road” comment that Romney pounced on in a web ad.
“This is not going to be and I’m not setting this up to be an election to blame George Bush, but what I’m suggesting is a series of decisions that got us into the mess is not a series of decisions we ought to make to get us out of it,” Gibbs told CNN’s David Gergen.

How many times did Obama promise to roll back the Bush tax cuts?

A list of 13 times has been complied by Byron York. Now you know why liberals heads are exploding.
Why are liberals so upset by Barack Obama's agreement to extend all the Bush tax cuts, even those on the highest-earning Americans? Perhaps because they believed what he said during the presidential campaign. Just as a reminder, here is a non-exhaustive look at candidate Obama's statements on the Bush tax cuts:
"It's true that I want to roll back the Bush tax cuts on the wealthiest Americans." Chester, Pennsylvania, October 28, 2008
"We are going to roll back the Bush tax cuts on the wealthiest Americans, those making more than $250,000 a year." Lake Worth, Florida, October 21, 2008
"Yes, I'm going to roll back the Bush tax cuts for the very wealthiest Americans." New Philadelphia, Ohio, September 3, 2008

Senior Administration Official Blames Bush For Failed Trail of Terrorist Ghailani

President Bush didn't make the decision to roll the dice in the American court system.
Political Punch reported:
"So, we tried a guy (who the Bush Admin tortured and then held at GTMO for 4-plus years with no end game whatsoever) in a federal court before a NY jury with full transparency and international legitimacy and -- despite all of the legacy problems of the case (i.e., evidence getting thrown out because of Bush-Admin torture, etc,) we were STILL able to convict him and INCAPACITATE him for essentially the rest of his natural life, AND there was not one -- not one -- security problem associated with the trial."

President Obama tries to sell the Tea Party some Kool-aid
President Obama had some kind words for the Tea Party movement today, saying it fits in America’s “noble tradition of being healthily skeptical about government…" Then he followed the compliment up by insulting the intelligence of every Tea Party member.
President Obama blamed former President Bush for his deficits. Unfortunately for President Obama, Tea Party members can read a chart.
Bush deficits vs Obama deficits.

Kool-aid anyone?
President Obama said today that members of the Tea Party movement are “misidentifying… who the culprits are” in blaming Democrats for the nation’s deficits and debt.

Demo Sen. Russ Feingold Blames Bush for His Poor Polling Numbers... (video)
I know the Democrats strategy this year is to blame Bush as much as possible, but the logic of Feingold's attempt to blame his personal unpopularity on former President Bush escapes me. On the other hand, if he were to blame President Obama...
From the video:
From the video:
ED SCHULTZ: Senator Russ Feingold joins us tonight, here on the Ed Show. Senator, good to have you with us tonight. You know, you have been one of the most hard-working guys out there. You do over 70 town hall meetings a year. What are you hearing in Wisconsin? And why are you polling below 50%?
RUSS FEINGOLD: Well, this is a year of challenges because of the mess that was left us from the Bush years.

Barney Frank Says "President was not partisan enough"

According to Rep. Barney Frank, President Obama has not been partisan enough and has failed to blame Bush for everything.
The Boston Globe reported:
Frank said Obama made a critical mistake when he took office in January 2009 by being too nice to Republicans and failing to tell the public just how bad things were following the presidency of George W. Bush. That has left Frank and other Democrats vulnerable to Republican attacks that they are to blame for problems facing the nation...
“The president was not partisan enough; he did not put the blame where it lay, and so we’re in a tough fight now,’’ he told roughly 70 attendees at a fund-raiser
Barney frank was recently in the news for creating a scene because he didn't get his $1 senior ferry discount.

Unbelievable! Rep. Maxine Waters blames the Bush administration for her ethics problems!

Just when you think democrats can't stoop any lower, along comes Maxine Waters with the absurd allegation that the Bush administration is to blame for her ethics problems.
Fox News reported:
Embattled Rep. Maxine Waters on Friday blamed the Bush administration for her ethics problems -- saying she had to intervene with the Treasury Department on behalf of minority-owned banks seeking federal bailout funds -- including one tied to her husband -- because the Treasury Department wouldn't schedule its own appointments.
Read more here.
Waters is still refusing to cut a deal and she is insisting on a speedy trial. Her fellow Democrats are undoubtedly thrilled about an ethics trial of a fellow democrat in the run-up to the 2010 mid-term elections.

Blame Bush Fail: Barney Frank Blames Low Approval of Obama and Congress on Bush (video)
Democratic representative Barney Frank thinks he knows why public approval of President Obama and this democratically controlled Congress are so low. It's the fault of former President Bush and the media. The media? The mainstream media has been falling over each other to shill for President Obama and Democrats ever since the 2008 election. This Congress may have been productive, but it was the most partisan in my lifetime. They are passing legislation, but the legislation has been either ineffective (Stimulus) or against the will of the American people Health Care Reform).

Blame Bush Fail: No official responsible for overseeing the exploded rig was a Bush political appointee

Nancy Pelosi is one of many democrats trying to play the "blame Bush" card over the Gulf oil spill. Here is Nancy Pelosi's attempt to blame Bush.
“Many of the people appointed in the Bush administration are still burrowed in the agencies that are supposed to oversee the [oil] industry,” Pelosi said when asked if Democrats could have prevented or mitigated the crisis by keeping a closer watch on the industry.
Added the Speaker, “the cozy relationships between the Bush administration’s agency leadership and the industry is clear…I’ve heard no complaints from my members about the way the president has handled it,” Pelosi stated.
Unfortunately for Speaker Pelosi, not one of the officials responsible for overseeing the exploded New Horizon rig were leftover "burrowed in" Bush appointees.
House Speaker Nancy Pelosi, D-Calif., recently blamed Bush appointees who “burrowed in” at the Minerals Management Service for the regulatory failures that led to the Deepwater Horizon disaster. But as it turns out, not one of the officials responsible for overseeing the exploded rig was a Bush political appointee.
The Washington Examiner has obtained biographic information on the MMS officials responsible for overseeing BP’s Deepwater Horizon rig at the time it exploded...Not one was a presidential appointment of George W. Bush...

Nancy Pelosi Continues To Blame Bush For Gulf Oil Spill
Former President Bush has been out of office for almost a year and a half, but that isn't stopping Democrats from blaming him for almost everything. Here is part of Nancy Pelosi's press release following President Obama's address to the nation.
“The disastrous BP oil spill is a harsh reminder of the price we are now paying for the Bush Administration and Republican Congress placing the employees of Big Oil in charge of regulating their own industry. We lost 11 lives in the tragic oil rig explosion, and our thoughts and prayers remain with the loved ones of those that perished. We have lost billions of dollars that belong to small businesses and residents in the region, and we have lost irreplaceable resources. In response, our energy policy must move in a New Direction.
“Last June, the House passed a bill to create clean energy jobs here in America, protect consumers, reduce pollution and help free us from our dangerous dependence on dirty foreign fuels while ensuring our national security. Moving forward, we must complete this legislation and invest in a clean energy future founded on American innovation and the skill of our workers. And we must harness the power of the sun, wind, soil, and our natural resources to fuel our future.”
