Barney Frank on Joe Biden: "he can’t keep his mouth shut or his hands to himself.”

Truth...

Via Politico:
Vice President Joe Biden is his own worst enemy, former Rep. Barney Frank said in a recent interview with Larry King, calling the veep “talented” but also “someone who lacks discipline.”
“Joe is his own worst enemy,” Frank said on “PoliticKING with Larry King” on Ora.tv. “He’s a very bright guy, very good values,” Frank said, noting the vice president’s years-old plan to divide Iraq into Sunni, Shia and Kurdish sections. “But he just — he can’t keep his mouth shut or his hands to himself.”
“It’s out of good intentions, but I think he has unfortunately diminished people’s perception of his abilities,” Frank added.
The vice president drew unwanted attention last month for putting his hands on the shoulders and whispering into the ear of Defense Secretary Ash Carter’s wife Stephanie while her husband spoke.

Barney Frank calls Obama a liar...

Now that he is out of office, Barney finds a pair...

Via Newsmax:
Former House Financial Services Committee Chairman Barney Frank says President Barack Obama lied to Americans about being able to keep their healthcare coverage, and he was “appalled” by the president’s inaction during the botched Obamacare rollout.
“Frankly, he should never have said as much as he did, that if you like your current healthcare plan, you can keep it,” Frank, a retired Democrat congressman from Massachusetts, told The Huffington Post. “That wasn’t true. And you shouldn’t lie to people. And they just lied to people.”
Frank, who retired in 2013, remains a strong Obamacare supporter and has often defended Obama and his agenda. But he told The Huffington Post that he still doesn’t understand the president’s actions during the rollout.

Barney Frank: "the federal government made money on the advances to the banks. What cost us money was the automobile industry bailout."

Barney Frank is finally telling the truth...

Via Newsbusters:
Most of America’s media think President Obama’s 2009 bailout of General Motors and Chrysler was a huge success.
Former Massachusetts Democratic Congressman Barney Frank threw cold water on this meme on NBC’s Meet the Press Sunday correctly informing viewers that the auto bailout lost money for the federal government. By contrast, we made money from George W. Bush’s 2008 bank bailout (video follows with transcript and commentary):
BARNEY FRANK, FORMER CONGRESSMAN (D-MASSACHUSETTS): First of all, many of the banks didn’t want this money. It’s not that we did it for them. But secondly, the federal government made money on the advances to the banks. What cost us money was the automobile industry bailout. But we made money on the banks.
HENRY PAULSON, FORMER BUSH TREASURY SECRETARY: We got all the money back plus $32 billion.

Liberal Heartache: Barney Frank bypassed for interim Massachusetts Senate seat...

Barney Frank get tossed on the ash heap of history...

Via Boston Herald:
Interim Senate pick William “Mo” Cowan today vowed his political career would be short — and ruled out all future plans to run for office — as he prepares to take over for U.S. Sen. John Kerry for the next five months.
“This is going to be a very short career,” said Cowan. “I am not running for office. I’m not a candidate for public service at any time today or in the future.”
Cowan beat out a list of challengers, including Barney Frank, who had been at the center of an intense lobbying effort by progressive groups pushing his nomination.
“There were other very capable candidates on the list — including Congressman Frank,” said Patrick. “All of whom, because of how capable they were, made it a difficult choice.”

Who is up for Senator Barney Frank?

Not me. There is enough lack of comity in the Senate already....

BOSTON — Gov. Deval L. Patrick said that retired U.S. Rep. Barney Frank is a gifted legislator and would make a great interim senator.
“He is definitely on the list,” Patrick told reporters Friday. “I think he would be a great interim senator.”
Patrick’s comments came at a Statehouse press conference after Frank, a Newton Democrat, told MSNBC that he wants the governor to appoint him as an interim replacement for U.S. Sen. John F. Kerry. President Barack Obama has nominated Kerry to be secretary of state.
Responding to a reporter’s question, Patrick said it would be logical to appoint Frank, partly because he knows the issues in Washington and could hit the ground running.

Rep. Barney Frank: Justice Antonin Scalia “an unreconstructed bigot,”

Nobody cares what Barney Frank thinks. It's time for him to head to the dustbin of history...

Via HuffPo:
In one of his last interviews before leaving Congress, Rep. Barney Frank gave a preview of the kind of no-holds-barred pundit he will be as he moves on to write books and become a TV commentator. The retiring 16-term openly gay Massachusetts Democrat called for the legalization of prostitution, cheered Washington State and Colorado for legalizing marijuana, labeled Justice Antonin Scalia “an unreconstructed bigot,” criticized those who took Prop 8 to the Supreme Court, defended the free speech of the infamous Westboro Baptist Church, and heralded the arrival of Congress’s first “gaysian” — the election of Mark Takano, an openly gay Asian-American from California to the House. [...]
On Justice Scalia and his latest anti-gay outburst, Frank is actually happy to see Scalia being honest.
“I was glad that he made clear what’s been obvious, that he’s just a flat out bigot,” Frank said. “I’d previously said he was a homophobe. And Fox and the rightwing said, ‘Oh just because he’s not for same-sex marriage? And I said, ‘No, let me be very clear. That’s not it. This is a man who has said you should go to prison for having sex.’ It was an extraordinarily abusive sentiment and it was dead wrong. And, by the way, for a guy who is supposed to be so smart — quite stupid.

Liberals in Love: Barney Frank ties the knot

72-year-old Barney Frank married longtime partner 42-year-old Jim Ready yesterday.
NEWTON (CBS) — Massachusetts Congressman Barney Frank tied the knot with his longtime partner Jim Ready on Saturday.

The 72-year-old congressman tried to keep the details of the private ceremony under wraps, but managed to drop enough clues to tip off the media.

Governor Patrick officiated the wedding.

Former House Speaker Nancy Pelosi, Rep. Al Green, Rep. Jim McGovern, and others were seen arriving at the Newton Marriott Saturday evening.

“This is an opportunity for them to do what so many others have been free to do for years and years in this country,” Rep. Al Green told WBZ-TV.

Ready, 42, lives in Ogunquit, Maine and runs a small business that does custom awnings, carpentry, painting, welding and other services; he is also a photographer.

Rep. Barney Frank bails on Obamacare

Rep. Barney Frank (D-Mass.) thinks doing Obamacare in 2010 was a mistake. I have to agree.

Via The Hill:
Rep. Barney Frank (D-Mass.) thought President Obama was making a “mistake” in pressing for healthcare reform in 2010 and urged the White House to back off after Democrats lost their 60-seat majority in the Senate, the congressman tells New York magazine.
“I think we paid a terrible price for healthcare,” Frank told the magazine in a lengthy interview as he prepares to retire at the end of his 16th term. “I would not have pushed it as hard. As a matter of fact, after [Sen.] Scott Brown [R-Mass.] won [in January 2010], I suggested going back. I would have started with financial reform, but certainly not healthcare.”
Democrats lost 66 House seats in the 2010 midterm elections. One political science paper estimated that about 25 of those losses could be linked directly to voting in favor of the healthcare reform law.
Frank, who supported Hillary Clinton in 2008, said Obama made the same mistake the Clintons did in the early 1990s by underestimating the concerns of people who already had healthcare coverage.

Barney Frank has a slogan for 2012 Democratic candidates: “we’re not perfect, but they’re nuts.”

Barney's comment comes at the 7:00 mark of the video.

Barney Frank's 2012 democrat slogan should be "Vote for democrats! We have man-boobs!"

Democrats may peg the bat sh*t crazy meter for House Financial Services Committee

Rep. Maxine Waters may take over as top Democrat on the House Financial Services Committee after the retirement of Rep. Barney Frank. It doesn't get anymore bat sh*t crazy than her.

Wall Street executives are bracing for the possibility that Rep. Maxine Waters will take over as the top Democrat on the House Financial Services Committee after Rep. Barney Frank (D-Mass.) retires.

Waters, an outspoken California liberal who is considered to the left of Frank on financial and housing issues, suggested in a statement Monday that she is laying the groundwork to become the senior Democrat on the panel.

“As the next most senior member of the committee, the current ranking member on the Capital Markets subcommittee and the former chair of the Housing and Community Opportunity subcommittee, I hope to use my experience to continue and expand his work in the committee,” Waters said.

Bye, Bye Barney

Rep. Barney Frank is retiring. He cites redistricting as the main reason. Here is my farewell message:
Don't let the door hit you an the a$$ on the way out Barney.
The Hill:
Rep. Barney Frank (D-Mass.) announced Monday that he will not seek reelection in 2012, ending a three-decade career in the House.

Frank, 71, is the top Democrat on the Financial Services Committee and the architect, with former Sen. Chris Dodd (D-Conn.), of the sweeping Wall Street regulatory reform law enacted in 2010.

He announced his decision at an afternoon press conference in his hometown of Newton, Mass., where he said redistricting played a major role in his retirement.

"I was planning to run again, and then congressional redistricting came," Frank said.

Demo Rep. Barney Frank thinks super committee failure is “good news”

Democrats never planned for the super committee to succeed. Mitch McConnell and John Boehner were very naive to make a deal with Democrats.
(The Hill) — Rep. Barney Frank (D-Mass.) said the congressional supercommittee’s failure Monday to come to an agreement on spending reforms was “good news” because it will help to end the Bush-era tax cuts and give Democrats more bargaining power in budget negotiations.
Groups on the edges of both the liberal and conservative spectrums have cheered the death of the supercommittee. Liberal groups like the Progressive Change Campaign Committee were happy that programs such as Social Security and Medicare were spared, while Tea Party conservative groups applauded the breakdown in talks because no tax increases emerged from the deficit-reduction panel.
The supercommittee’s failure to reach an agreement sets in motion $1.2 trillion in automatic spending cuts set to take effect in 2013 through sequestration.
Half of those cuts are to defense initiatives, which has hawks in Congress vowing to undo them. House Armed Services Committee Chairman Buck McKeon (R-Calif.) said Monday that he was readying a bill that would prevent the defense cuts.

Barney Frank is thinking about sexting his supporters or something

As is anyone needed another reason to not support Barney Frank. The idea of getting sexts from him is enough to send shivers down even a diehard liberals spine!
FRANK’S EFFUSIVE THANK YOU: Lawmakers penning their appreciation for campaign contributions comes with the territory when raising millions of dollars, but Rep. Barney Frank took it to the next level with a recent thank you note obtained by POLITICO. “I thought about lip-synching Eddie Fisher’s version of 'Danke Schoen' on YouTube. Other possibilities suggested themselves — some combination of friending, tweeting, texting and sexting,” Frank writes this month on trying to find new media ways of expressing his gratitude for long-time supporters. In the end, the Massachusetts Democrat says that he’ll have to work a little longer on his social media skills — but that he is “deeply grateful” for the supporters' help in “fend[ing] off last year’s right-wing onslaught.”

Keeping it Classy: Barney Frank calls Republicans morally stupid bigots (video)

Here is a newsflash for Barney. Opposing Obamacare, job killing global warming legislation and funding for Planned Parenthood doesn't make Republicans morally stupid of bigots. Opposition to these programs is well in the mainstream. Barney needs to get out to fly-over country more often.

It has come to this: Barney Frank calls in Michael Dukakis to rally base

Michael Dukakis? Dukakis lost in 1988 to George H.W. Bush, carrying only 10 states and the District of Columbia. Perhaps, Michael Dukakis will loan Barney Frank his tank!

fleming and hayes reported"
October 30, 2010 - In a last-minute move of desperation,dukakis-tank-717905 Barney Frank called in former governor and presidential-nominee, Michael Dukakis, to help him rally support...amongst his base in the liberal town of Brookline (well, maybe not so liberal anymore). Finding a Barney Frank event these days is harder to do than one might think. Despite the fact that Frank is truly fighting the reelection campaign of his life to republican challenger Sean Bielat, he's staying peculiarly quiet and randomly popping up at small events amongst democrats. Ever since we organize a counter-rally to protest former President Bill Clinton's visit to stump for Frank, Barney has avoided publicly announcing his campaign events...

Liberal Heartache: Desperate Barney Frank Loans His Campaign Money

Liberal Barney Frank is in the re-election fight of his life. He has given been forced to give his campaign $200 thousand of his own cash. Scott Brown won his district in the election to fill Ted Kennedy's seat. Frank's opponent this November is Republican Sean Bielat. There has been little polling in this race, but Bielat may be closing to within striking distance. If Frank is loaning his campaign his own money, he must have some internal polling data that is unsettling.

The Politico reported:
Longtime Massachusetts Rep. Barney Frank has given his re-election campaign $200,000 as he faces his toughest race in years.

A campaign finance report filed Tuesday showed that Frank, the chairman of the powerful House Financial Services committee, lent himself the money Tuesday.

Frank, a 15-term lawmaker from Newton, Mass., raised $316,644 last quarter and reported more than $1 million on hand with no debts.

His campaign didn’t immediately respond to a request for comment.

Video: Barney Frank's Boyfriend Heckles Opponent After Debate

Perhaps he was smoking pot again, but it is most likely his crass liberal emotions getting the better of him. Frank's Opponent is Republican Sean Bielat.

Via Fleming and Hayes
October 16, 2010 - Upon exiting the most recent debate with Barney Frank, located at WGBH studios in Boston, MA, Republican Congressional candidate, Sean Bielat, gets heckled by a Barney Frank "supporter" while talking to the media. While watching this video, we realized that we recognized this "supporter". We received confirmation from two eyewitnesses that the mysterious cameraman was none other than Barney Frank's pot-growing boyfriend, James Ready.

Barney Frank Says "President was not partisan enough"

According to Rep. Barney Frank, President Obama has not been partisan enough and has failed to blame Bush for everything.

The Boston Globe reported:
Frank said Obama made a critical mistake when he took office in January 2009 by being too nice to Republicans and failing to tell the public just how bad things were following the presidency of George W. Bush. That has left Frank and other Democrats vulnerable to Republican attacks that they are to blame for problems facing the nation...

“The president was not partisan enough; he did not put the blame where it lay, and so we’re in a tough fight now,’’ he told roughly 70 attendees at a fund-raiser

Barney frank was recently in the news for creating a scene because he didn't get his $1 senior ferry discount.
