WH spokesman when asked if Obama supports Rep. Charlie Rangel's re-election: “I’ll have to get back to you on that,”

They will get back with us after the election...

Via Beltway Confidential:
President Obama’s spokesman wouldn’t say if the president plans to support Rep. Charlie Rangel, D-N.Y., despite Obama’s praise for the Harlem lawmaker at a recent fundraiser.
“I’ll have to get back to you on that,” White House Press Secretary Jay Carney told reporters today when asked if Obama would support Rangel.
Rangel, a founding member of the Congressional Black Caucus, was censured in a borad bipartisan vote by the House of Representatives in 2010 for ethical violations. [...]
Rangel is distributing campaign fliers featuring a picture of himself with the president, but doesn’t know if Obama will actually support him. “That’s a good question,” he said last week.

Another Democrat Refuses to Support Pelosi

Rep. Steve Driehaus won't commit to supporting Nancy Pelosi as speaker if he wins re=election and Democrats retain control of the House. Both of those are big ifs at the moment. Driehaus’s opponent, former Rep. Steve Chabot (R), would like to remind voters Driehaus has voted with Nancy pelosi 94 percent of the time.

The Hill reported:
Ohio Rep. Steve Driehaus (D) became the latest House Democrat to refuse to commit to supporting House Speaker Nancy Pelosi (D-Calif.) for another term.

In a chat with readers on Cincinnati.com, the endangered freshman said, “I expect Speaker Pelosi will have a challenge within the caucus. And I will hold my vote until I know who’s running for Speaker.”

Obvious: Communist Party USA Endorses Obama Alliance on Website

In the category of 'not so shocking news,' the Communist Party USA is urging their voters to get out and vote for the Obama alliance. By Obama alliance, they mean his fellow Democrats. They appear concerned the far-left course President Obama and Democrats have steered this county on will come to the end of the road if Republican and Tea Party candidates win this November. Let's make their worst nightmare come true.

Here is the text:
“If the grand alliance that elected Barack Obama comes out in full force to vote we can stop the Tea Party/Republican takeover, continue moving forward and push further for green jobs, union rights, health care and the safety net for the common good.”

Obama Has Lost Almost Half of His US Jewish Support

Eight out of ten Jewish Americans voted for Obama. A new McLaughlin poll has found that support has dropped to four out of ten. President Obama has been estranged from our closest ally in the Middle East. Since taking office 18 months ago, President Obama has put all the pressure for progress in peace talks on the Israelis. Recently, there has been heated exchanges over Jewish building in Jerusalem. Even liberals like Senator Chuck Schumer has criticized Obama's Israel policy. Belief among Israelis in Obama's support for Israel is in single digits and there have been anti-Obama protests.

The Washington Times reported:
It looks like a core group that supported President Barack Obama during his election is dropping their support for him by half. These kinds of numbers are astounding, and Democrats running for office in even safe blue districts should not necessarily be waving over the president during the campaign season to help them with their re-election campaigns, because no incumbent appears to be safe.

Arutz Sheva is reporting President Barack Obama has lost almost half of his support among Jewish Americans.

ABC/WaPo Poll Finds More Pain for Democrats in 2010

ABC News/Washington Post poll finds more support for Republicans than Democrats.

Among registered voters in this ABC News/Washington Post poll, 48 percent say they'd support the Republican candidate in their congressional district if the midterm elections were today, 45 percent the Democrat. That's a rare level of GOP support in nearly three decades of polls.

Gallop Poll: Democrats Approval of Congress Drops 15 Points in Three Weeks

Only 18% of Americans now approve of the way Congress is doing their job.

The biggest change is in Democrat's support of Congress. It has dropped 15 points in three weeks. I guess Democrats have an Obamacare hangover.

Support The SEALs (video)

Stop the outrage being inflicted on our brave Navy Seals. Watch this powerful video and contact your Senator and Congressman.

From Youtube:
SO-2 Petty Officer Second Class Matthew McCabe is accused of punching the terrorist, and is also charged with dereliction of duty for “failing” to safeguard the murderer. SO-2 Petty Officer Jonathan Keefe and SO-1 Julio Huertas are being charged with dereliction of duty and making false statements. The prisoner alleges that he was punched in the face by McCabe, but it isn’t clear if the injury occurred while he was in custody or when he was captured. Please note: He was not water-boarded. He was not interrogated agressively. He was not electro-shocked or tasered. His fingernails were not pulled out. Nor was he boiled in oil, or whatever other torture he may deserve. He most certainly was not shot, burned, mutilated, nor hung from a bridge. He got a bloody lip.

Ahmed Hasim Abed is a terrorist captured on the battlefield. They should have shot him.

When People Understand the Trade-offs, Support for Obamacare Tanks

There is some surprising information hidden in a recent AP poll. Overall, the poll found 43 percent oppose the health care plans being discussed in Congress, while 41 percent are in support. However, when the consequences of these choices were put in the poll questions, the results dramatically changed.
When poll questions were framed broadly, the answers seemed to indicate ample support for Obama's goals. When required trade-offs were brought into the equation, opinions shifted — sometimes dramatically.

Support for banning coverage because of pre-existing medical problems declined by almost 40% when it was explained to people that their health insurance costs would likely increase because of this change. Support for mandatory health insurance coverage flipped when people understood there would be a federal penalty for those who failed to take insurance.
The responses flipped when people were asked about requiring everybody to carry insurance or face a federal penalty: 64 percent said they would be opposed, while 28 percent favored that.

This poll seems to indicate the public is poorly informed about the consequences of passing Obamacare. Once the trade-off are made clear, support for the Democrats health care reform bill collapses. Unfortunately, the state run media will continue to shill for Obamacare and do a poor job of educating the public.

Cracks Begin to Appear in Support for Rangel

Democrats have resisted Republican efforts to remove accused tax cheat Charles Rangel from his powerful position as chairman of the House Ways and Means Committee. Now, crack are beginning to appear in that support. Surprisingly, the weakening of support is coming from Rangel's own New York delegation.

Politico reported:
Politically vulnerable junior Democrats have been agitating with more senior counterparts to intervene -- either with Rangel or with House Speaker Nancy Pelosi (D-Calif.) -- in an attempt to ease Rangel out as Ways and Means chairman until the House ethics committee completes its review of the allegations against him, members tell POLITICO.

"The past month it's escalated," said one of the lawmakers...

75% Worried About Gitmo Closing

A new Rasmussen poll has found fifty-five percent of Americans now oppose closing the Guantanamo Bay terrorist detention center. Support has been dwindling since President Obama announced the plan. Most Americans don't want a terrorist moving in next door.

From Rasmussen:
Seventy-five percent (75%) of U.S. voters are at least somewhat concerned that dangerous terrorists will be set free if the Guantanamo prison camp is closed and some prisoners are transferred to other countries. Fifty-six percent (56%) are very concerned.

A new Rasmussen Reports national telephone survey shows that just 24% are not concerned about the potential danger.

Support for the president’ s plan to close the prison camp for suspected terrorists at the Guantanamo Naval Base in Cuba continues to erode. It’s been steadily dropping since Obama announced the camp closure just after taking office in January. Only 32% of voters now favor closing the prison camp, down six points from May and down 12 points since the President announced his decision in January.

Fifty-five percent (55%) now oppose closing the prison, with 13% not sure. In January, just after the president announced his decision, just 42% were opposed.
